Tip: Be careful with the spice levels, as even level 1 can be quite spicy for some. Consider adding extra pork to the Tantanmen Ramen for a heartier meal.

I was craving Ramen and my favorite Ramen house is in Georgia. This was a good substitute. Very tasty, served quickly, I had a level 2 spice which next time I will do a level 3. Two was good but I wanted more spice. I wish they had a seafood Ramen but they did not. I did the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen with pork and added 3 shrimp. Very enjoyable and the normal bowl was very filling. I wanted something else but was glad I didn't order it as this was more than enough. Fast service the place is clean and food very good. Yes I would return.
Amazing food. Calm but sheik atmosphere. And fast friendly service. Highly recommend you try this hidden gem. We had the spicy beef ramen and chicken katsu curry rice.
Very great! Owner was extremely kind and even gave us free desserts that we couldn’t finish. Food was good, we had fried chicken and ramen. The sauce on the chicken was great. Very big amount. Bean sprouts in the ramen were great. Overall great
We came in for lunch today after learning that a new ramen spot opened on the West side of SC and we had a great experience. We ordered the chicken ramen and a side of the chicken karaage. The ramen was delicious - great broth, noodles, jammy eggs and toppings. The Karaage is also very good - fresh chicken pieces, well breaded, not over-cooked. 5 starts for exceeding expectations; good food, very friendly/attentive staff, and a nice casual atmosphere. Also, they carry Japanese Ramune soda (try one if you’ve never had it before!). My only constructive criticism is that the broth could have been a little bit warmer. Overall, I can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes. Welcome to the neighborhood!
Delicious Ramen! They have a great selection of broths meats and toppings. They were out of boba though and that made us sad, but not sad enough to not enjoy the ramen! My niece got the spicy beef (2) and it was very spicy, but still a 10/10. We also ordered number 5 (pictured) and 1. All 10/10, filling and warmed the soul.
Loved the Tantanmen Ramen - beautiful flavors! (I added extra pork to make it more hearty.) Ikageso Karaage (fried octopus) and Orange Ramune soda were pretty good too.
Incredible flavors, served fast! Be careful with the spicy; I like spice in my food and went with level 2 and was a happy sweaty mess at the end - I’ll do level 1 in the future. Very happy to have one of these on Santa Cruz West side. A great go-to ramen spot.
Yummy! Garlic ramen was good, fried chicken even better. The squid was overcooked a bit and too sweet for me personally, I know it's hard to cook squid just right. Overall, I would go again.

The spicy tonkatsu is delicious and the egg was perfectly jammy. Love that you can switch out for udon noodles!
Hokkaido is just off Mission tuck behind a Starbucks…I stumbled upon it and have now been there 5-6 times. Very good ramen. I’ve had some of the best ramen in the world and this is a super solid option. I wish more people would discover this fantastic ramen house! Give it a try, we need to keep them in business!!
in college i got the disrespect of service from a Japanese resaturant. we had to wait an hour four my boyfriends sister to get a bowl or ramen. our food went cold. nobody ate until our food was all cold. it my not be your restaurant but i used to live on Miramar. im hoping the burger king is the new location but that was entirely a disservice to our whole group that spent hundreds of dollars on a wine and dine night. i hope THEY (not yours) go out of business,.
Some of THE best Ramen I ever had. I had to thank the manager, might not mean much but the way everything was cooked and served. I will definitely be going back. Also I have to give a shout out for the service. Super quick, super responsive. I was with a big group and everything came out perfect.

They offer your spice on a scale of 1 to 3 - 1 was way spicy for me!
My boyfriend and I visited this place recently, and we had a nice experience. The service was very pleasant; you order at the cashier, and then they bring the food to you. The prices were also reasonable, especially compared to some places in the San Jose area. We ordered the veggie ramen, chicken ramen, and the chicken Karaage appetizer. The soups were okay but seemed to be lacking a bit of flavor. However, the chicken was very good—I loved it! Overall, it was a good experience.
The restaurant itself is nice and clean. A regular ramen is around $16 and the portions are on the smaller side. When I'm comparing the price to quantity ratio it's not great. The quality and taste is good for Santa Cruz but if this restaurant were in San Jose it would not be able to compete. It's classic ramen that I expect in every way and I appreciate the addition of more Asian food in Santa Cruz.

This is one of the few places to get ramen in Santa Cruz. The garlic tonkotsu is my favorite and pretty much the only think I get. It's rich, thick and garlicy. The bamboo shoots, and soft boiled eggs are delicious. I usually get take out here with extra noodles and they have nice sturdy containers. My only gripe is a meal for one person with a drink is like 25 bucks. But hey- I pay it when I have an itch for warm delicious soup

Ramen was just okay – I got the Garlic Tonkotsu and Spicy Tonkotsu (had to try both). The Spicy Tonkotsu came with habanero spice, which was a pretty odd flavor for ramen. Garlic Tonkotsu had some good garlic flavor, but both broths were overly milky.

Overcooked, thinly sliced meat. Very unexpected from a national chain... The charsu (pork) was thin sliced and dry. The brisket was thin sliced and rubber. If you want ramen, stick to Kaito and Full Steam Dumpling, or go over the hill. --- Broth, noodles, and tare egg are fine. Broth was a little too cold to heat up the tare egg. They need to immediately change how they prepare the charsu, to be like almost literally every other ramen restaurant. E.g. slow cook the loin or shoulder at 200F, finish on the grill, or even just grill it. Then slice it when the customer orders, to rely on the heat from the broth to warm it up. I understand this is a national chain... if this is how the chain cooks meat, I'll be sure to never visit again.
The food isn't bad. I just know what good ramen tastes like. This is a chain so it met me expectation for a chain restaurant. It's good enough and unfortunately the only dedicated ramen restaurant in Santa Cruz.
EDIT: FALSELY CLAIMED FOOD DIDN'T CONTAIN AN ALLERGEN. My partner had an allergic reaction. Don't go if you have food allergies, and don't trust them if they tell you its safe. The food is decent but I disagree with displaying AI generated imagery.
I would give it a zero if I could. We ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry Rice, the rice was hard, looked like plastic, and the chicken was entirely pink, slimy, and raw. They took it back before I got a picture and came back with it burnt. Customer service was awful, the main cashier claimed that this was how the katsu was suppose to be, either raw or burnt | guess, and that everyone loved it that way. It's baffling, do not come here.

I was excited to try the ramen but when I arrived, they said they stop dine in at 7pm, an hour before their stated closing time of 8pm. They should state that on their website. Recommend calling ahead just to verify they're still offering dine in since their hours are misleading
