I've been coming here for years and I will never stop. This place is consistently amazing - one of those rare spots that only gets better the longer you know it. I still remember when they first started out, and it's kept that same personal, welcoming energy. The owner is seriously one of the nicest people you'll meet -- always checking in to make sure everything is perfect. The food is made fresh to order, and you can taste it in every bite. The noodles are made in-house on their machine - super thin, perfectly chewy, and never overcooked. The broth is rich and flavorful, like it's been simmering for hours, and the pork belly is absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious - perfectly tender with just the right amount of crisp on the edges. We also had sake, which paired perfectly with the meal --smooth and served just right. And I can't leave out the octopus balls - they are incredible. Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and perfectly cooked inside, never dry or doughy. Easily some of the best takoyaki I've had anywhere. Even the presentation is beautiful - when the food hits the table, it just looks right. The ramen bowls are picture-perfect, the toppings arranged beautifully, and everything feels carefully made. This place never disappoints and is one of my all-time favorites. If you haven't been yet, go - it's a gem worth becoming a regular at.
The four different udons were delicious! The owner is very friendly and came out to ask about the quality and taste. The noodles were made fresh in the noodle shop! Many varieties.
My Cousin, who lives in Northern California, said we need to stop in Santa Rosa at Ippinn Udon while on our road trip from Washington to FL. He said it’s his absolute favorite. It did not disappoint. It was amazing! The staff were very kind. The food was delicious and fresh. They had really good sized portions as well. We even had enough to take with us on our road trip. This is definitely our new favorite place in Santa Rosa. Thank you Ippinn Udon for making our road trip extra special.
The udon and ramen are so good. The texture is hard to beat. The noddles come very fast. In and out of the restaurant within half an hour with a satisfied stomach ☺️
Fresh made and high quality. It is rare to find house made dumplings, noodles, etc. in Santa Rosa. The abundant portions of food are delicious, very flavorful, but not loaded with salt, and high quality. Great service and pride of craftsmanship is apparent. We will be back again and again.
Amazingly fresh, clean flavors. The tofu curry broth with ramen was so flavorful and rich and the noodles are handmade. This dish was pure perfection! The shrimp and green onion dumplings are simple and those are the only two ingredients inside a perfectly executed dumpling. This little gem in Santa Rosa has warmth and style and their food has authentic flavors of Japan with minimally processed ingredients. I couldn’t be happier! Try their house made hot sauce- it’s a perfect addition to dumplings and service is very attentive, warm and friendly for this order-at-the-counter style restaurant.
My chicken udon was ready in 2 minutes! Hot and perfect bouncy noodles. Lean chicken meat. Yam tempura took a little longer but was yummy also and very inexpensive. Super clean place. Friendly staff. I'm surprised this place wasn't more busy!
The best Udon noodles and fresh grilled meats and seafood dishes. Absolutely brilliant taste. My children love the dishes, especially Japanese tempura. Mouthwatering potstickers, beef udon, curry chicken with udon, fried rice that keeps you wanting more for days.
I’ve eaten here every week for a month since I discovered them. Delicious. Quick. Friendly. The curry broth is consistently creamy and seasoned well. New favorite spot.
Food here never disappoints. They offer dine in now, so you get plastic to go bowls, still very nice presentation. The first two photos are what my food looked liked after the pandemic and the other photos were before the pandemic. They also kept their prices low. By far my favorite udon shop
sushi restaurants are all over, but a good udon and ramen is rare. we were lucky to find ippinn during our day trip to santa rosa. let’s start with the rice bowl. we had a colorfully delicious salmon rice bowl. the eggs were perfect. a thicker cut of salmon would be wonderful though. next, we had charsiu udon. the soup base tasted so rich and good. the charsiu was very flavourful and tender and we love the parsley or coriander in it! when you put parsley into piping hot soup, all the flavours and aroma will just burst out. are you salivating now? :D and not to forget, all udon and ramen are made in house
Definitely recommended for everyone who go to Santa Rosa or pass by to Napa valley! We found Ippinn Udon & Tempura from an app called Red(xiaohongshu). Udon tastes amazing! We ordered Tonkotsu udon and beef fried udon, taste great! Servers are super nice.
Excellent food, authentic feel. I was really excited when I first walked in to find my regular spot. Unfortunately, they were busy or there must have been a mix up with my food because people who walked in 20 minutes after me got their food first. No ‘sorry’ or, ‘can we offer you an appetizer to make it right.’ Still, 5 stars because the food was unlike anything I’ve tried anywhere else and I understand things happen, but I think I’m gonna try a different place next time.

I am glad to find a Asian Restaurant in Santa Rosa! Noodle was delicious. 😋 so happy to find cold noodle here, so fresh and tasty! The restaurant is extremely clean and the service is good.

Fantastic! We were on a brief visit in Santa Rosa and chose to eat here at the last minute and I can't stop thinking about how delicious everything tasted. I live in Chico CA, and I'm seriously thinking about traveling to Santa Rosa just to eat at Ippinn Don't & Tempura.
I’m very surprised to find this Asian restaurant in Santa Rosa, the ramen and fried udon tastes very authentic and is comparable to some good restaurants in Bay Area!

It turned out to be way better than expected — it’s a casual Japanese udon store where you order at the counter, but the food feels restaurant-level. The udon noodles are perfectly chewy, and the tempura is crisp. I also ordered Salmon Don and I like the source. Prices is fair and the staff is friendly Overall it’s an impressive hidden gem that delivers comfort food.
I’ve been a lot of places in the world and this restaurant has some of the best udon, curry, and delicious dishes I’ve ever had. Ippinn is a family favorite and we go often. Their homemade hot sauce is also incredibly unique and perfectly balanced too. They sell some there and we bought some to take home and we use it on everything 🙌.

This time I ordered the tonkotsu. It was really good and perfect for the cold weather. Previously I’ve had the Ippin Ban Ban, which is still the best one I’ve tried. There are a lot of other stores around this noodle shop, so finding parking during busy times can be really difficult. You can buy homemade chili sauce here as well.
Yum! Perfect cold weather food. I only minused one star because the broth surprisingly needed a tad more flavor and the spring rolls, though fresh and texture wise amazing, needed a little something to bump up the flavor. My daughter and I had an overall great meal.

I had the teriyaki chicken Dumburi , decent for the price, chicken tasted a bit weird , probably a commercial frozen product Would try tofu if I came again. Large portions I saw other dining options in the area but at a higher price.
This establishment markets themselves like a marugame but is really a Chinese fusion restaurant that offers udon noodles, where most of their dishes (mala broth, chicken teriyaki, green onion pancake) are more Chinese leaning. If you’re looking for an authentic Japanese restaurant please look elsewhere. The food was just ok, just because something is made “in-house” doesn’t always mean that it’s good. From their website “The process is built for speed. You grab a tray at the counter, ask for either thin or thick cut udon noodles, then move down the cafeteria line requesting toppings. At the end of the line, you add sauces and condiments like togarashi, panko crumbs and house fermented chili paste, pay your bill, grab cutlery from a nifty chopstick dispenser, and sit down to slurp.” We took the trays, lined up, placed our order… and expected to have our food ready by the time we check out but you just pay and sit down … with your empty tray (?) and then someone brings your food over. Strange, nonetheless we won’t be coming back here.
Dishonest Billing – Watch Your Receipt! Check your receipts every time! I came to Ippinn Udon in Santa Rosa and ordered milk tea — but when the bill came, I noticed I was charged for Aladdin Nigori sake ($10.99) instead. When I asked the waiter for the receipt, he first didn’t give it to me. After I insisted, he handed it over, and when I questioned the charge, he said “the boss made it,” then pretended to call the boss. He didn’t actually ask any questions on the phone and just handed me back $6 in cash. This felt dishonest and unprofessional. It left me wondering if this happens to other customers too. Attached is the photo showing the milk tea I ordered and the receipt showing sake instead. I hope management takes this seriously — customers deserve honest service and clear billing
