Fuimos a cenar el miércoles de esta semana, tras haber intentado ir a comer el día anterior pero estaba petado, finalmente conseguimos ir porque me lo habían recomendado un montón. Nos pedimos tres cosas, las anchoas, el tartar y la tabla de quesos, todas súper bien de precio y acabamos bastante llenos, sobre todo estaba espectacular todo lo que pedimos, el tartar yo creo que es lo que más me sorprendió porque de cantidad estaba muy bien y el wasabi que te ponen de acompañamiento era de muy buena calidad, que es algo que hoy rara vez puedes llegar a probar. Los camareros todos majísimos y nos sirvieron muy rápido, ya que no estaba petado pudimos cenar traquilamente sin agobios. Volveremos 100%, nos encantó!

I had here a very good lunch with my family and at a very reasonable price. The food was all very good: tasty meat, fresh fish, well cooked potage, a good variety of salads. And if you take the menu of the day, it's just 13.50€ per person. I definitely recommend it

Había leído algunas malas reseñas y fui con un poco de miedo, pero la verdad es que nos trataron genial y la comida estaba bastante bien. Aunque teníamos reserva tardamos un poco en sentarnos, pero mientras tanto estuvimos tomando algo y tampoco nos importó, es normal con la cantidad de gente que hay en verano Entiendo que quizá haya gente a la que algo no le guste y salte a la mínima, pero en nuestro caso la experiencia fue muy positiva.

Menú del día por 17 euros un domingo. Buenas porciones y está rico. Las camareras parece que meten un poco de prisa quitándote los platos y despejando la mesa.

We were having a couple of nights in Sardinero prior to the ferry. After walking to the Maritime Museum and then into town we were ready for lunch. We wandered around the back streets looking for something "Muy authentico"and the menu del dia looked to fit the bill with plenty of local trade to recommend it. We were made very welcome and given a table by the door which was fine as it provided fresh air. The speaker above the table provided classic Rock which we didn't mind. The starters were substantial rib sticking stuff, followed by more modest mains. My wife was a bit suspicious of some bits of the pork fillet which she thought was a bit under done.I thought they were OK. The postres were the usual stuff. The meal was accompanied by a generous basket of crusty bread and my glass of red wine turned out to be half a bottle of a very drinkable red probably from Valdepenas. It was nice to be treated just the same as the Spanish customers with no condescending snotty waiters which we had experienced in Sardinero.

Price and quality of food are very good. You can get a menu for 14€, high quality food. The place is packed, so be sure to make reservations beforehand. Staff is friendly and dependencies clean (also clean bathroom). It is 4 starts only because there is a lot of noise. There is non isolation of noise and you can hear the silverware clashing when picked-up. Despite this this is the third time i go here and will certainly do again

A very good but small restaurant. As English speakers, with little Spanish, we found it difficult to translate the menu, the service staff helped but it was still a struggle. The food and wine we did manage to order was fine and enjoyable. It was nice to visit a restaurant that was mainly local people but welcoming to visitors.

Hacia mucho tiempo que no volvía,la comida buena,pero el servicio es un poco brusco...entiendo que estén agobiados,acelerados o lo que sea,pero si reservas mesa y no llegas a la hora en punto o dejas a la gente para que vaya pidiendo mientras vas al parking que son 5 minutos te dicen que como en 2 minutos no vengan te levanto de la mesa, asi que ve antes. El pulpo muy pequeño y pobre para lo que cobran por la ración. El servicio no me gustó. Volvimos y fue más de lo mismo,las almejas buenas,el solomillo ni fu ni fa,el san Martín y los chipirones buenos también.

No está mal, sin ser nada del otro mundo. El que parece responsable, un poco soberbio. El camarero, atento y amable. La comida, justita. Menú diario de 17€ con dos platos, bebida y postre. La carne dura, y las patatas congeladas.

Es una pena que una comida tan buena vaya acompañada de un ambiente y un servicio tan medianos: El camarero de la barra, al enterarse de dónde éramos, empezó a quejarse de nuestra ciudad, equipo de fútbol, etc. Además, tardaron bastante en servirnos y cuando lo hicieron se equivocaron y en lugar de merluza nos pusieron bacalao. Por otro lado, el local está bastante mal pensado; la cocina prácticamente da al salón y las paredes están sucias. En cualquier caso, la comida estaba excelente y los precios son adecuados; entre diez y veinte euros por persona.

La verdad que tengo emociones encontradas, el trato de los camareros excelente, cordiales y atentos las raciones estaban buenas, pero por favor las cantidades de los platos no van acordes con el precio. Pulpo una tapa 21€, rabas de calamar 18€ para dos justa, y racion de sardinas a la plancha 9€ (9 sardinas), que menos 12 una racion. De volver para menú ya que ha raciones me parece escaso y caro.

Comida muy normal pero servicio, por parte de algunos de los camareros, nefasto. Poca coordinación entre el camarero de barra y los que llevan las reservas. Esperando unos 50 minutos para comer estando en lista de espera y pasando grupos que llegaron más tarde antes de los que ya estábamos esperando. Fuimos a recordarle que estabamos esperando y nos dijo que hablasemos nosotros con su compañero y que nos "relajasemos" (muy educados fuimos ante sus formas). Para no volver solo por ese mal servicio.

Para no repetir, después de llamar y apuntarnos en una lista para el segundo turno tuvimos que esperar 1:10 hrs. Menú bien de precio (17€) platos escasos y no muy elaborados, el postre natillas caseras, ni natillas ni caseras ,queso con membrillo ridículo, después de pedir un poco más de membrillo, nos añadio algo más ridículo aún.

La comida fue correcta y las camareras nos atendieron con amabilidad y profesionalidad desde el primer momento. Lo que resulta absolutamente inaceptable es el trato que presenciamos por parte del propietario hacia su propio personal. Durante la comida escuchamos amenazas, malos modos y comentarios despectivos hacia las trabajadoras, generando un ambiente tenso y muy desagradable. Como clientes, fue incómodo ver cómo se les hablaba de forma denigrante, incluso por cuestiones normales del servicio como cambiar una botella de agua por otra más fría a otros clientas en la mesa se al lado. Eso si dándose la vuelta y por lo bajo. La hostelería no es solo lo que llega al plato. El respeto hacia el equipo debería ser lo mínimo exigible. Nos fuimos con muy mal sabor de boca. Queremos recalcar el trato impecable de sus camareras dos chicas latinas encantadoras que nos dieron ganas de llorar por ver como las trataba. Esperamos que tengan suerte y encuentren un lugar donde se las trate como se merecen y puedan estar a gusto trabajando y seguir atendiendo así de bien como a nosotros, desde luego no recomendamos el lugar llamado la La pirula en Santander por no ver al PIRULERO del propietario. Animo chicas que no será por restaurantes en esta ciudad que tan bien nos han tratado en todos los sitios excepto esta experiencia!

I am writing this review to share a truly awful experience at La Pirula. From the moment we arrived, the service was shockingly bad and the staff's behavior was completely unacceptable. I approached the manager to ask for a table. When I tried to ask how long the wait would be, explaining that I don't speak Spanish, the manager became aggressive and loudly declared, "I don't speak English." His tone and manner made it very clear that foreigners were not welcome. It was an incredibly uncomfortable and demeaning interaction. Thankfully, a younger waiter who spoke some English took our name and promised to call us in 30 minutes. We waited patiently, but after 30 minutes we watched as other people who arrived after us were seated at the now-empty tables without any reservation. We repeatedly tried to get the attention of the staff to ask what was happening, but they simply ignored us. After being completely disregarded, we gave up and left. The combination of the manager's hostile behavior and the rest of the staff's blatant disregard for us made this one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in Spain. It's clear that this restaurant has a serious problem with both its customer service and its attitude toward non-Spanish speakers. I would strongly advise anyone — especially tourists — to avoid this place.
