Stumbled upon this great little place for a cocktail or two then stayed for some great craft cocktails, snacks and some of the best conversations and trip advice from our most excellent bartender “Murch”. We had such a blast with him we went back a second time to spend time with him before we left to come home. The atmosphere was fresh and cozy but the drinks were over the top just like Murch. If you’re ever by the river and need a good cocktail and a bite, go check him and this place out, you won’t be let down.
We were going to go for pizza but the wait was half an hour.So in the meantime thought we'd have a margarita. Best decision we could have made. Bartenders were fun, friendly and entertaining! Drinks were absolutely amazing. Food was so good too.Definitely gonna hit this place next time I'm in Savannah!
Went here on a very solid recommendation to try the Spicy margarita and boy! I was not disappointed. Best margarita I have ever had! Perfect heat and a generous pour. My husband and I were in Savannah for our 41st anniversary. We were the only ones at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the bartender, who makes the spicy tequila. ( Unfortunately I can't remember his name, shame on me). But it was a wonderful conversation and learned a lot. Highly recommend this place and the drink!
The food and service were great at Savannah Tequila Company! Our server, Mia, was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which made our dining experience even better. The management staff also deserves recognition for running such a well-organized and welcoming restaurant. From start to finish, everything felt professional and seamless. Highly recommend!
While my sisters and I were on our sister trip in Savannah, we stopped by Savannah Tequila Co for a quick afternoon snack — and we’re so glad we did! We ordered a few chicken tacos, and they were absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. You could really taste the quality and care in every bite. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was vibrant, energetic, and full of life, with great music and a fun crowd. We only stopped in for a short visit, but had we not already had other plans, we definitely would have stayed to enjoy the full dine-in experience. Next time we’re in Savannah, we’ll absolutely be back — and we’ll make sure to have the full “Dine-in experience!” Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for amazing tacos, friendly service, and a great vibe in the heart of Savannah.
Absolutely delicious food… We had the tableside guacamole, which is a wonderful experience in itself, and then the Paradillo (which was a platter for two people). The food - and drinks - were wonderful, but the service, from Maura, was outstanding. She took time to tell us about home and Mexican culture which was an honour to listen to.
Had the BEST experience at Tequila’s Town Mexican Restaurant in Savannah! Our waitress, Jessica, was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was literally outstanding. The chicken nachos were loaded and flavorful, the trio platter sampler was the perfect mix, and the quesabirria tacos were absolutely delicious. The chicken melts in your mouth—so tender and seasoned just right. 10/10, highly recommend! 🌮🔥
Thought it would be your average place but it was NOT! Drinks were AMAZING, the salsa birria, couldn’t get enough w the chips. Chicharrones were perfect, ordered the shrimp and lobster enchiladas, i could have stayed all night. Bar staff was incredible 💯❤️
Came here with a small group and was able to get some outdoor seating, the dipping trio was really good. All the sauces with the roasted tomato were so good. My friend ordered the enchiladas which I tried and we also got the El Pastor tacos. It’s right on the river and nice to sit outside
We went there twice on our recent trip to Savannah. The first night we had a waiter named Michael, who was amazing! I have food allergies and he made sure I got food that was safe for me & I felt comfortable. The food was excellent! We had such a great time we went back a second time when he was working and brought others with us. Everyone loved their food and we had no leftovers! Michael took great care of us. We would all definitely go back! If you do go & have Michael, please call him John (for a joke) and tell him the Bible thumping, tequila lovers from Chicago sent you 😂
We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! Both the food and drinks were absolutely perfect. Nia took care of us, and she was so kind, attentive, and welcoming. She really made our visit special. Highly recommended! We will come back here
We went in for lunch on our visit to savannah georgia. We had the chicken nachos, the chicken mole and I had a corona zero.It was fabulous.
It was very pleasant experience, there is plenty of tequila choices for all tequila lovers. Food was great and cocktails very nice presented and delicious. Service was also very good, friendly and helpfull with many choices that restaurant has to offer.
We walked in without reservation but we're able to be seated quickly. Group of 6. Service was great and so was food. We ordered a sampler trio -guac, queso and salsa (we chose roasted tomato) and it was a good choice. Then we had a flight of 10 tacos (6 options to chose from). We also got lobster and shrimp enchiladas. All food was delicious and came fast. Our server was entertaining and funny. Definitely a spot to visit again. By the river front. After dinner we saw a big container sheep pass by. Close to few rooftop places as well.
The queso and tacos were incredible! I had such a great experience, and both Michael and Yolanda were amazing servers. Highly recommend!
Great location and food. Good pricing and portions. The food and drinks were great and the view of the river was a great touch. The bartender ended up serving and was a pleasure.
Delicious food! Phenomenal drinks! Excellent service! Great atmosphere! Ask for Demi, she’s the best!
What can I say? I am speechless! The food was AMAZIN! Our server, Carmella, was fantastic, super friendly, informative, and on point with everything we needed and asked for. Brent, the bartender, makes the best margaritas we have ever had to date! Great job guys. Cheers 🍻
We had an overall great time today! We started in the patio but due to the rain ,carmella our server, let us go inside. She was super helpful with suggestions and had great hospitality. The food was some of the best we’ve had for Mexican food, and was very fairly priced as well.
Savannah Tequila Co. is a fantastic spot for lunch! While a bit on the pricey side, the food was absolutely worth it. The menu has clearly marked gluten-free options, plus additional dishes that can be modified. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, which gave us great confidence in our choices. I had the Chipotle and Coffee Ribs—sweet, tender, and full of flavor. My wife had the Lobster and Shrimp Enchiladas, which she really enjoyed. They also have an impressive selection of tequila, including flights for those wanting to sample different varieties. Overall, a great experience with delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommend!
Sarah gave us the absolute best service! Food was also amazing with loaded tacos, great street corn, and amazing dips for our chips! Great place Highly Recommend!
6 days in Savannah and this was one of my favorite stops. A friend from Tucson is a bit of a tequila connoisseur (or at least a wanna-be). We found all of his favorite tequilas plus many more here. This was a real education for me, learning about lowland tequilas and highland tequilas and blends of the two. The best bit of info was about additives. The top brands have no additives, but many of the lesser brands (especially what you'll find on the rail and mostly cheaper tequilas) have additives that change things dramatically. Quite frankly I had never had a really good tequila before. We had two bartenders, but the one who spent the most time with us (sorry, forgot the name) was super knowledgeable and helpful. Even gave me a taster of another really good tequila (Ocho) and one of the cheaper big sellers (with additives). OMG, the difference was night and day. The food was also good. We had some nachos and the queso fundido. Highly recommended all around.
Visited recently this past weekend for a bachelorette weekend and when i was researching, this restaurant came with amazing reviews! they were right! we started off with the triple sampler (GF) it was guac, salsa & queso with tortilla chips and i got the chicken taquitos as my main meal !! delicious!!!! i wish i got more to take home! it was soooo good!!! the waitress was so aware and very very knowledgeable!
This place not only met but exceeded expectations. The soft tacos (Pastor, Adoba, Tinga) were fantastic, especially the first two. For such a fun, casual atmosphere, the food was superb! Tamika was exemplary! She is clearly a pro at making guacamole and even gave us a mini lecture on making guac at home. It truly deepened my understanding of the dish which I value and am grateful for. 10/10 service, largely because of her. I would recommend this place to anyone with not only a taste for Mexican/Latin cuisine, but in search of a great meal, service, and atmosphere. Oh and the drinks were great, too.
This was our first time here. We really enjoyed the whole experience. We had the Pork Belly Chicharron, the Enchilada Mole, the Shrimp and Lobster Enchilada and Churros. Everything was Hot and Delicious. The Marguerites were quite tasty. Our server Carmella did a great job keeping us happy. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We are from Minnesota, and the southern hospitality was amazing. We celebrated my 30th birthday here and they brought us free dessert and Champaign. Abhi was an amazing host and Yolanda was the BEST server. We had an amazing time. Thank you!
A wonderfully unique Mexican restaurant with an absolutely massive tequila selection (126 different tequilas according to our server). The service was great. The food was fantastic. We started with the chips and salsa, wife had the shrimp and lobster enchiladas and I had one of each of the street tacos. Several drinks and lots of food later we were very happy with the decision to have eaten here.
We enjoyed dining at this restaurant with our friend during our visit to the beautiful coastal city of Savannah. We loved the Mexican cuisine, which was freshly made and had a harmoniously balanced flavor. The dishes were greatly paired with the drinks, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant was well-decorated with cactus and flower murals and paintbrush writings, and the vibrant mood lasted all night long. The service was exceptional and made our experience unforgettable.
The food was great. I shared the mixed grill. Loved it! Demi was our server, and she was such a joy. Made the experience even better.
Alex is the best waiter I’ve ever had! He was very attentive and fun for our Bachelorette trip! We would recommend anyone to come for an awesome dinner and a great time! Alex and Savannah Tequila Co get 5/5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best tacos! My husband and I went a year ago during a trip to Savannah and had the best tacos ever, we loved them so much that now, a year after, we went back and were fortunate enough to have our same waitress, Maura. We told her how much we loved the restaurant and she made our dinner memorable. Will never stop recommending Savannah Tequila Co
Amazing experience! We started out at the pizza spot right across, but the server was so horrible we left before even ordering. Walked in to Tequila Co. and was warmly greeted and had the pleasure of Alex serving us. He set the tone for a fantastic experience and gave amazing food reviews which helped make our ordering easy. The food was delicious and my experience was so great I’m writing this as I sit here. We plan to come back tomorrow to try some other menu items. The only negative was not having frozen drinks available, but that was a minor disappointment in the grand scheme of things.
Came for Valentine’s Day and Jessica made our experience absolutely wonderful. She was kind and sweet and very accommodating as we came with our 2 month old baby. Will definitely be coming back and we’ll be asking for Jessica. Truly memorable
Jessica was amazing! She was efficient, quick but calm, kept a close eye on us and did a great job pushing specials. Would definitely come back to eat and be taken care of by her!
Really good food and drinks. The guac was exceptional. We had the sampler trip and the queso was very good too. The salsa was good but didn't compare to the other two. I had the al pastor, asada, and pork tacos. The pork was good but nothing special IMO. The al pastor was delicious as was the asada. I personally liked the al pastor the best. One issue I had with this place is that it was like 2/3 empty when we walked in and they told us there were no tables for an hour and a half. It was fine because there was space at the bar but that was kinda annoying. I'm guessing they just had a ton of reservations.
Good reader, lend me thine indulgence, for my visit to Savannah Tequila Co., lodged smartly within the industrious finery of the Plant Riverside District, left me not only refreshed but smiling like a man who has misplaced his worries and hopes never to see them again. The establishment hums with energy yet stops short of bedlam—a rare accomplishment. One may converse without shouting, drink without elbowing one’s neighbor, and stand without fear of being trampled by enthusiasm. The river nearby contributes a cooling dignity, as if even the water itself approves of moderation (though Savannah crowds rarely do). Of Alex the Bartender, a Gentle Alchemist Now to Alex, sovereign of the bar and master of measured pours. This gentleman possesses that enviable skill of knowing precisely when to appear—never vanishing when one thirsts, never lingering when one merely thinks. His humor is dry, his judgment sound, and his hand steady enough that I did not once fear waking the next morning speaking exclusively in apologies. Alex guides the drinker as a good tutor guides a student: firmly, kindly, and without making one feel a fool for having arrived ignorant. Of the Skinny Margarita, Which Is a Liar by Name The skinny margarita, though styled modestly, is no weakling. Clear and brisk, it delivers its cheer with the swiftness of a polite slap. The lime is sharp, the tequila honest, and the sweetness restrained to such a degree that one briefly believes oneself virtuous—until ordering a second. It refreshes the body, emboldens the wit, and may cause one to laugh at jokes that would otherwise earn only a sigh. Final Judgment In summation, Savannah Tequila Co. is a house where good order prevails, good drink is respected, and good service is practiced without ceremony or smugness. Enter thirsty, leave cheerful, and beware: Alex’s margaritas possess a talent for convincing sensible men that one more is an excellent idea.
I had my birthday celebrated here with a few of my friends & it was absolutely fantastic. Our server Yolanda was amazing! They definitely make you feel special. The food & drinks were also wonderful. We will 100% be back!
Gorgeous setting, and exceptional food. Michael was our server, and he answered all of the questions our group had. Highly recommend visiting. The salsa was on the salty side, but not so salty that it detracted from the overall quality. Great seating options, and it's perfectly located near plenty of vendors for an after lunch stroll alongside the water. Would dine here again. 🍹
Not your typical Mexican restaurant. I loved the Shrimp with lime and poblano peppers! Enchiladas and pork ribs were yummy. Salsa trio was good. Try to get a seat outside! Margaritas were strong.
The atmosphere was unique and fun as you can see in some of the pictures. Food was really good! The trio salsa is a solid appetizer, my fav salsa was the creamy jalapeño. My wife had the chicken quesadilla and I had the street tacos, al pastor and brisket. Really tasty but a little dry and smaller than o was expecting but still really good. The chicken quesadilla was for sure the best part of the meal. Would recommend coming here for one of your meals while in Savannah.
The street tacos were, meh. Asado was good, but chicken and pastor, not so much. The queso fondido and chips and salsa were good though. Drink was ok too, but I don't know if it was $18 ok.
The food here is very good but a bit pricey, likely as a result of being in the plant Riverside district. The cocktails and tequila drink drinks are also a good pairing with any of the meals you might order. But again they’re almost $15 apiece. I had the Mezcal old-fashioned which was delicious and my wife had the River St., Paloma which she also thoroughly enjoyed. This is not the same as your local Mexican restaurant where you can go get a couple big plates of food and some drinks and leave for less than 30 bucks. That being said it is a good experience if you feel like elevating your Mexican dining experience for the evening. The only complaint we have is that sometimes the service can be a bit slow, or unmotivated which is atypical when eating in a Mexican restaurant.
Fun atmosphere and nicely made cocktails. We both ordered fish tacos which were good, but not great. The coating of the fish could have be crispier, and the accompanying slaw was a little too crisp, almost hard. Our server was great: friendly, attentive, but not intrusive. Overall, we had a satisfying meal and would go back.
Quite a long walk down Rver Steet from where most of the action is. With a name like Tequila Co it didn't feel like anything like a Mexican restaurant. It was like a contemporary cafeteria. We had chips and salsa to start. The salsa didn't have much flavor but the guacamole and quesso were good. Chips were red, white and blue, looked nice but I've had better in authentic Mexican restaurants. Margaritas and wine were served rock glasses. Grilled chicken salad was OK. Asked for no cilantro but had no dressing either. I ordered 3 tacos. The pulled pork and fish taco were fine but the steak taco was like chewing leather. If you want Mexican I would try somewhere else.
Atmosphere was really nice, cleanly, and cool! We stopped here for an appetizer as lunch. I had the chicken nachos. They were superior! Super delicious, loved them! Food came reasonably fast. The reason my rating is a 3 was the service. The host didn’t seem happy to be there, they were not rude, just not as friendly. Then our waitress, while kind was not very attentive. My drink came after we were done eating. She did not check to ask how things were really, she took our order and brought our bill; someone else delivered our food. I would come back because everything was DELICIOUS, but service was slacking.
I’m rating this restaurant a 3/5 because it was mediocre, incredibly busy and expensive. My husband and I had a reservation for dinner at 7pm we made weeks beforehand, but we had to wait till 7:45 to get in, which isn’t really a big deal but we had our 9 month old so that’s why we made the reservation to make sure we could be in and out before the night life crowd got thicker, so I think it’s notable. The service was just fine, our waitress was nice and got us everything we needed and checked on us often and the hostesses were kind and handling the chaos well. The food is what I would call mediocre. The presentation was nice but I’ve had a lot of Mexican cuisine in a lot of places and there wasn’t really anything special about the food or the tequila here so kind of disappointed to pay the special prices for not so special food. So I’d say the best part about the place is the convenient location on the river but also why it was incredibly busy. So if you want Mexican while you’re in Savannah I’d recommend looking around more before choosing the Tequila co.
The older guy with gray hair at the bar was pretty unpleasant, even though the food was great. We honestly wish we could’ve stayed longer and had better service.
I have to be honest. Let’s start with the good. The employees at this restaurant were amazing. Hard working, nice, great customer service and hustling the whole time. The location is great. The dessert was delicious. The food was like going to the Olive Garden. If you love Italian you know what that statement means. It was the blandest Mexican food I’ve ever ate. I was excited to try this because of the reviews but I have to tell you. It is overpriced American food trying to be Mexican. Service was great but unfortunately we would not return.
Horrible service. We were a large party of 11 and the male host informed my party that they could not seat them even though the restaurant was half filled. They offered to split the group 6/5 and when they were told no they offered 4/4/3. The male host again said no and made them feel like they were not even wanted in the location. They then informed my group they could go to the bar area and eat there which they did. To add insult to injury, my sons who are under 21 were told they could not sit at the bar and instead had to stand along the wall. With that Greyson (bartender) and his staff did a great job of taking orders and getting food out promptly while providing very good customer service. Food was good and the rest of the meal was ok except staff were getting frustrated with us standing “in the way” but they had no place to go. They couldn’t sit at a table and not allowed to sit at the bar. And as it couldn’t get any worse, when we received our check, we were giving an 18% charge for a party over 6 people! They wouldn’t accommodate my party of 11, made some of them stand, and then charged us for having a large party. Completely unacceptable. I did speak with the manager who was very receptive and offered to remove the charge and repeatedly apologized and assured me that she would address the issue. I feel somewhat bad writing a bad review but this kind of service is unacceptable in my opinion. I will say that after speaking with the manager I would be willing to give them another try. Plus the food was good.
We stayed at JW on February 11th and dined at the Savannah Tequila Company that evening. Unfortunately, my husband experienced severe food poisoning shortly after eating there. Our server was very kind and attentive, which we appreciated. However, there were several concerning issues beyond the illness itself. When we were seated, I informed staff that I have a food allergy. The kitchen’s response was to ask, “How serious is your allergy?” That question alone was alarming. Any allergy should be treated seriously, and guests should not feel like they need to justify the severity of a medical condition in order to be accommodated safely. The following morning (February 12th), we informed the front desk about the food poisoning. They were polite and said the Food & Beverage team would handle it. Later, someone from the restaurant called and said another person would follow up to file an official report. During that call, the woman I spoke with was dismissive and unprofessional. When I mentioned it may have been the chicken taco or the hot sauce, she laughed and questioned whether my husband actually eats hot sauce. He orders house hot sauce every time we eat Mexican food and has never experienced anything like this before. The tone of the call was disappointing, especially given the seriousness of food poisoning. She mentioned the meal would be comped, though that does little to address the severity of the situation. As of today, the charge has still not been removed. No one ever followed up to file the promised report. On February 18th, after returning home and still seeing the charge on our bill, I called the hotel again. They said they would email the F&B team. I have still not received a call back or any resolution. Food poisoning can happen, but how a business responds makes all the difference. Unfortunately, the lack of follow-through, the dismissive attitude, and the failure to remove the charge have left us extremely disappointed. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves both food safety oversight and guest communication moving forward.
