I grew up in Schenectady and moved abroad - when I am back visiting I always go for breakfast and dinner (for the best Mexican ever!). Lovely staff that are friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for a fab Mexican meal or a great breakfast!

Food and service were 5 star. I was so hungry for what I had that I didn't even have time to take a picture. I had a chicken fajita burrito that was just right and rice and refried beans on the side. This little place definitley was so unexpected. A staff of maybe 5 bringing the service of 10. The food came out very quick too. I would maybe get take out here. I do think that the tables were a little crammed together, so If you are trying to maintain social distance you the customer may have to seek it out, but other than that. I loved this place and the food and hospitality.

Order fresh fruit, not so fresh received. Showed the waitress she asked what to do, I said take off from my bill, she spoke to the cook. When I payed my bill the amount was the some as of I got fresh fruit.

This place is the real deal! I've been eating here for 12 years. The food is authentic Mexican, the service is friendly, and it's consistent. The place is family owned and operated. They serve standard American diner fare also, but I go for the Mexican. Enjoy!

Friendly folks serving delicious and varietous food; we stopped in during a ghost-town Sunday morning for breakfast. Delighted to find grits on the menu to accompany my corned beef hash, eggs, hashbrowms and coffee! Made this Georgia boy feel like home! Food came out hot , tasty and reasonably priced! Good job waitstaff, good job cookstaff, now could someone explain to me who designed that thing yall refer to as a parking lot?!

Checked out the Point Cafe this morning, and, boy are we glad we did! Great looking menu with something for everyone. We opted for breakfast. The huevos rancheros was so good, amazing flavor and very filling. My husband got the chicken fried steak and ate up every last bite. Our server was so friendly, she gave us a cup of their enchilada soup, oh my gosh, its like queso in a cup 😋 We will definitely be back to try more of their menu!!

We are Texans who were passing through Schenectady and wanted a late breakfast. We're pretty snobby about what is good Mexican Food and this place was fantastic. The food was amazing and the service was so wholesome. If you're ever in the area, this is the place to go.

A very good spot in the Schenectady area. I tried them for breakfast this morning. I had their oatmeal with blueberries and strawberries, their farmers and carnitas breakfasts as well via door dash and it was very good. Support your local restaurants around here. They serve some very good food!

The Point is a great family owned restaurant. The food is good and the plates are full. I have gone just by myself and have met other people here lunch. The staff are always friendly and helpful. On weekends it can get pretty busy and feel a little congested, but once you're at your table you are fine. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and we always love to try and find local diners for breakfast. We stumbled upon the Point Cafe and are so happy we did. We sat at the counter and it was easy to see this was a coveted local restaurant. The staff treated their customers like family and the food was amazing. We would highly recommend this place.

This little place really dishes out some amazing food. I visited for the first time last week, and was pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of both the food and the owner/staff. I don't eat dairy (which typically makes my Mexican food orders a bit more bland) but the owner personally came out and asked if he could make my plate better by adding his own personal touch. Enchiladas were spot on, food was delicious, and everyone was very friendly. 10/10 will visit again when I'm in the area!

I got the country fried steak with sausage gravy. By far the best I’ve had in a while. Other places they usually put too much or not enough pepper in the gravy, but theirs was just the right amount. Sandy, our waitress, was great. My coffee was never empty. Atmosphere was homey. Clean bathroom. I will be going back to try the Mexican food.

Very nice waitresses and the breakfast was phenomenal. Their menu is the traditional diner fare, with a smaller section of Mexican breakfast items. Three of us had the fiesta burrito with their homemade sauces on the side. The red was mild and the green had a nice bite, but not too hot. It is a small seating area, typical table size was for four but we had six plus two little ones and took up a lot of space. We'll definitely go back for some of their house specialties next time we're in the area. Loved it!

I have ordered GrubHub multiple times with this cafe. I finally went inside for a to-go order and let's just say that this is now my go to! Bonus for it being locally owned and family oriented and ran. I appreciated the way I felt welcomed and the food is amazing! I have yet to try something from here that I don't like. And now I am excited to try all of their menu!

very good food, above and beyond service, will do substitutes for basically any combo. cheap prices in today’s economy, and also very filling. its a cozy diner but also a bit of a long wait. it’s extremely worth it though. i had the stack and I substituted the meat for hash browns and had chocolate chip pancakes for no extra cost. 10/10

I can say several things about the staff though: I do door dash and Everytime I go there it just shows that they love their job. Most excellent food and service. I came in for lunch, this was my first time. I was taken to a socially distanced table that was clean and had plenty of space to eat. The menu had plenty of options and contained both sandwiches and dinner plates. I chose the enchilada plate with beans and rice. It was fantastic with more than I could eat in one setting. I was offered a to-go container and it was just as good for dinner. I would like to thank the owner and her staff for a fantastic meal that was served hot and very timely. Thank you again.

I used to ride pass this place all the time on my bike when I was a teenager. I always wanted to eat here. I was finally able to and it did not disappoint. Service was great and food was fantastic. I was having breakfast with my father and brother who I hadn't seen in a few years. Thank you for making it a memorable experience for us.

Great food and portions. Was misled however, by the Loco (crazy) Supreme breakfast burrito. Reading words like "crazy" and "supreme" on a breakfast burrito name got me excited thinking it was going to be crazy loaded with meat and veggies and stuff. But I was sadly misapointed when I bit into a "salad wrap". Took the loss, hopefully they fix it. But other than that, the other burritos were amazing!

Excellent breakfast! I had the corned beef hash with 2 poached eggs (with cheese) and my husband had the chicken and waffles. While I wasn’t impressed with the presentation of my meal (wasn’t sure about the slices of cheese), I was surprised by the quality once I started eating! They have an amazing homemade salsa verde that you have to try if you can handle a little spice. The atmosphere is like a typical diner. No frills, good service, great food!

This is a nice little place with good diner food. DO NOT ORDER THE MEXICAN FOOD. The "salsa" was thick tomato juice with a dash of liquid smoke. The soft tortillas tasted like old bubble gum. The rice tasted like bottom shelf instant rice, and the re-fried beans appeared to have been dumped out of a can. The "enchilada sauce" was just more of the "salsa."

The food and wait staff is great but the food is only good when you actually GET SERVED YOUR FOOD!! We waited 45 minutes. They need a new system. Too many door dashes to fill today. Frustrating sigh!!

Breakfast is always on point. Everything else is just ok. A lot of it is canned or frozen and just reheated. I can get better Mexican food in so many places. Stick to breakfast, some lunch and avoid the Mexican menu.

Food was mediocre. Ordered delivery and they didn't provide butter or syrup for pancakes and omellete didn't come with cheese, which is like the main filling in American omelettes otherwise it's just a folded scrambled egg.

I've never really had a good experience at this restaurant, so I don't typically order from them. But, I have them a try. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. The fries that came with it were limp, lifeless, and had no seasoning. Since I had the order at home, I salted them and recooked them in the air fryer. That brought them back to life, kinda. The chicken on the sandwich had decent flavor and was a nice size, but the bun was too soft and squishy to support the heavy fillings. The bun had been grilled on they inside which was a nice touch, but it just wasn't enough to make this sandwich worth the price. I ended up taking the chicken off and eating it without the bread. Overall, it wasn't terrible but there are a few things I cannot forgive: cold, flavorless fries and a bun that falls apart before you can even take a bite.

Sadly the owner(s) have stopped accepting credit cards here. There has been a sign on the cash register that states "credit card machine is broken" which by now, we all know it's a bunch of BS! It has been there for a few months now. It takes that long to get it fixed? Laughable. Why not just be honest with customers and tell us you're no longer accepting credit cards? I find this sneaky not to mention appalling. Food always delicious and service is excellent! That's why I still gave 3 stars! Oh, they also now have an ATM machine with a $2.50 fee! How "convenient".

I was told the food is excellent thru the week. I went on a Saturday and won't return. I was not impressed, there were 2 other people there and it took an hour to get our food.

Ordered a burger with no peppers, came with peppers. Ordered french toast with sauteed peaches, the peaches were very clearly straight out of the can. Stiff, cold, and tinny tasting. And the eggplant parm is honestly the worst tasting eggplant ive ever had. I took two bites and threw the entire meal away.

Took over 45 minutes for our meals to be served. As we waited we observed a number of take out orders being prepared. There were only 4 other people in the restaurant. Although the meals were very good, I would not go back.

Lacking in value and service. Ordered a chicken broccoli Alfredo lunch special add bowl of chowder and a steak,burrito. Chicken dish was very hot, the burrito was NOT, was cold. The burrito *maybe* had 1-2 oz meat, other ingredients ok, but left hungry from lunch. Asked for salsa for chips that come,with burrito, got hot sauce. Chips were re-heated in fryer from a prior cooking. Clam chowder not that great; waitress *finally* refilled water, left my companies soda empty and did not ask... Sadly all for $24.82... plus tip?

The food is delicious but they don't always give you everything you order. This place frustrates me sometimes and they want you to call to fix their errors, stating they will not charge if you come and pick up the item(s) they forgot to give you. What is the point of delivery then? It has often been problematic when not receiving all the items ordered.

I'm yet to place a pickup order from this place and have the items match the description in the menu. Sandwiches missing ingredients, paninis not grilled/pressed (which makes it not a panini). I ordered a hot dog today that was supposed to come with sauerkraut, coleslaw, pickles and French fries (according to the menu description) and just got a plain hot dog in a bun... Food always tastes fine to good, but would love to actually get the thing I ordered, if even just once. Edit to add: It's great that the owner wants to be responsive to reviews and reaches out to people to try to fix issues, but there is nothing to be done to "fix" issues of accuracy in past orders. I'm not concerned about getting some cash back, or getting credits for future orders. I have limited time on my lunch breaks and the Point Cafe is just the most convenient place for me to grab lunch on my lunch break. I don't have time during my lunch break to get to my destination, check my food for accuracy, call the restaurant for a correction, go back there, and then go back to my destination and eat. The only way to "fix" the issue, in my opinion, is to make sure the staff are appropriately trained, make sure all variations of the menu (online, in cafe, etc.) are accurate and match, and to have all the necessary ingredients in stock to make the items according to the menu descriptions. I guess we'll see if they can get that together or not.

I ordered a sausage sandwich here today and 2 hours later I got severely sick with food poisoning. In the urgent care at this moment now 12 hours later. I did not eat anything but the sandwich today. I give it two stars because when I used to order from here, the food is pretty good. But not playing with fire again

Probably one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at. The waitress was lovely and was just doing her job and I don't blame her for anything. The food was super gross though. I am from LA and assumed a place advertising Mexican food with Latino cooks and wait staff would be legit. I was wrong. Even the "homemade tres leches" was straight up just a piece of plain cake with cinnamon dusted on it. Not even uno leche let alone tres. I don't recommend going here. .

Im gonna have to be honest. This food was mediocre. The home fries were just a bunch of burnt potatoes. The sandwich I ate tasted like it was cooked in applewood bacon grease. The bagel was clearly a lenders bagel. The sausages in my sandwich tasted like the store bought links. And the worst offender of all was the cheese. It was clearly the cheapest individually wrapped no name brand cheese. If you look at the reviews, you can see someone posted a picture of the cheese in question. All around tasted like cheap walmart food.

Review as a delivery driver. Service is very slow and never matches the times provided. Expect to wait an extra 10+ minutes. On top of that staff will ignore you for the most part of you are a delivery driver. On occasion they also mark their orders as ready to pick to pick up while they are not done.

I came for the stuffed French toast, but it turns out it's actually just a chunk of cream cheese from the fridge, not melted or whipped or anything, no no, put in between 2 pieces of regular French toast. That is their definition of stuffed. I was so disappointed, but it wasn't my servers fault. This is on the menu, so I just ate, tipped, and left.

Fries were soggy and bland. No carbonation in soda. Panini was tasteless despite the savory ingredients that were used. Food was cold. When we called they said it was Ubers problem and offered no solution in regard to remaking the food (fresh) and allowing us to pick it up to redeem some of the embarrassment of the meal that they sent to us.

Got there at 11:45 am for breakfast. Got coffee, ordered and no acknowledgment what's so ever. Breakfast came at 12:38 PM! Communication is the key, make people aware of any delays and let them decide if they want to wait that long instead of guessing what's going on!!

My husband and l, as Latinos very much would like to support this diner as it seems it's owned and managed by a Latino family and it's within the community yet with the pattern we've observed we can't see ourselves doing this. I gave this restaurant a few chances but tonight was the last. Ordered a Lamb gyro wrong bread no sauce loaded with feta cheese lettuce was brown and lamb like rubber onions also missing. Took one bite after removing most of feta within 20 minutes of eating I began to have gastric distress basically food poisoning. Absolutely horrible. I get a response but all it states is the wrong sandwich was ordered lol what about the illness suffered because the lamb was obviously bad within 10 minutes of eating it there was severe gi distress all night

I wanted to like this place. Walking by it smells like the food would be good. Sadly, this is not the case. The food was very bland and the attempt at Mexican was lack luster at best. The “refried” beans were more like a sauce. The chicken breast was small strips like out of a can.

Pitiful ordered a ham sandwich. Got a fried egg sandwich not even with ham on it. Fries were terrible soggy had to air fry them ordered a hotdog for my kid barely even cooked ordered a turkey club. I can tell the difference between turkey and chicken and it’s chicken. I do not recommend this place at all steer clear was supposed to get a pickle and homemade coleslaw, one slice of pickle and a teeny tiny little thing of coleslaw that is from Cisco. This was delivery steer clear.

Will never spend another dollar here. We walked in at 8 pm on a Friday. Open sign was on and Google says they're open until 9. The girl behind the counter froze and asked "were you planning on eating in" in a tone that said she hoped the answer was no. We were, so we sat. Yes they let us order, but they were hovering, passive aggressive about paying asap, and cleaning around us in a huff. Obviously we were in the way so the moment we were done eating we decided to leave even though we weren't ready to go. Literally the second we touched the door handle they called "thank you Goodnight" and shut off all the lights before we were even outside. If the times aren't right on Google, you should fix them. If they are, what a terrible way to run a business.
