Great authentic food. This is my new go-to takeout. I've tried several Mexican restaurants, and this is by far our favorite. We will continue to enjoy the great food, deals and service. I highly recommend trying!!
Love it here! The enchiladas are so yummy 😋 Heather, the bartender, is so lovely. She made us feel like we were home on our last visit.
Our party of 6 had all ordered various dishes and more to go home as well. Everything was great. Just wish I lived a lot closer!
I live in Texas and this was some of the BEST Mexican food I have ever tasted...everything was super fresh, delicious, and with a gorgeous presentation! The music sets a lovely atmosphere too, the service was fantastic, and I can’t wait to return!
This resturant is very trendy looking and has a fun atmosphere. Great drinks and authentic Mexican food. Would recommend trying the shrimp street tacos. Had great service as well.
Our recent visit to Amigo's was as usual... EXCELLENT !!! The food was delicious, the service was great & the atmosphere was very nice. 5 stars across the board !!!
We love happy hour at the bar with Heather. We make new friends every time we go. Great atmosphere and food.
Great little Mexican restaurant. Super friendly bartender and a great steak quesadilla. They even have house made hot sauce that was flavorful and added some nice spice to my meal. Would definitely go back!
There are no words in any language that can accurately describe the excellence in food, ambiance & hospitality that Amigos Cantina provides. If you have not been, then you have not lived your life to the fullest. It's not just a restaurant, it's an experience that will change your life.
everything was made timely and so delicous! bartender was kind, courteous, and had very knowledgeable about the menu! would go back any day!!
A regional treasure worthy of the drive. Well balanced menu, priced right and executed well with remarkable consistency. Fun ambiance with an engaged owner. Sign up for their email and receive regular updates, deals, etc..
This place was exceptional! Oh my was the food fresh and delicious. Pain killer drink was refreshing with the ginger and my beef chimichanga was filled with pulled beef very hearty. The soup of the day was a delicious pork apple cinnamon was wide eyed amazing as soon as it hit my tongue. Also the chocolate espresso creme brulé, also delicious.
I keep waiting for the off day, but it never comes. It's always the same; quality food, service and atmosphere. While we haven't dined in the restaurant in a while they still give the most efficient service around during Covid, always adapting. The food is fresh with great flavor, drinks are awsome.
First time there food was amazing and service was excellent definitely going back on taco Tuesday's
Outstanding!! Perfect place for a date with your honey. Food and drinks were amazing and service was wonderful so friendly and attentive.
Second visit just as good as the first and will certainly be back for a third and more. Love it here.
I work there, so it may make my input bias, but it also means I have been eating the food for 4 years several nights a week and it never dissapoints. They also have a very inclusive menu for all dietary needs, and of course the best service around! If you have not been in awhile, our new head chef of the last 3 years has revolutionized the food, and the owner Rob is a good guy and a solid part of the community.
One of my favorite places to dine. The quality of the food is superb, the staff is up to snuff, it's just an all around great experience. When I need my comfort food, this is where I go. The prices are more than fair, including the drinks.
We've been dining at Amigos since they first opened, many years ago. They are one of our favorite restaurants in the entire capital region. The food and service are top notch. A true gem worth finding.
Greeted right away, clean; friendly, efficient server. Wonderfully authentic flavors. Great Variety. Many price points to fit any budget. First time, but we'll be back for sure!
I always have a great time coming here. Can be a little pricy for the area but I've always enjoyed the food and drinks. Taco Tuesday and Thirsty Thursday have some good deals. Warm and kitschy decor and styling lends to the welcoming feel
Delicious food! Seriously good tacos. Margaritas were fantastic. Service was fast. If we are ever in Schylerville, we would eat here again!
Delicious food and great margaritas! Chile rellenos were excellent, fried avocado tacos were tasty and unique. Service was wonderful. A fantastic place to eat out in Schuylerville
Best enchiladas! The food is great, and the servers are always pleasant.
The owner and staff were extremely courteous and great hosts. Top quality food and service.
A welcome greeting when we arrived. All the staff were so friendly, and the food was super delicious! The flavors were just right in the salsa and the chips warm and tasty. I especially liked the red sauce with my enchiladas. My partner and I each tried one of the tequilas from their menu and had a nice conversation with the bartender about the different kinds of tequilas. We will definitely be back!
Absolutely fabulous! The food is incredible, the service is friendly and the drinks, terrific! It was our first time there but most certainly, not our last! This is our " go to" for really amazing Mexican food. If you haven't been, you NEED to go! Call for reservations!!!!!
We had a large family group (3 generations) and got prompt, personal service (Thanks Annie, you were great!). The food was fantastic. I'm a little bit of an expert, growing up on the Texas/Mexico border. Good tequila selection that is very reasonably priced. Next time I'm in the greater Saratoga area, I'll, be back, with or without my sister who lives in the area (she and her family are regulars).
Great atmosphere. Went on a busy Saturday for dinner. They were able to accommodate our party of five (in a four person table, we agreed to it) in less than five minutes. Attentive server, and good food. Authentic Mexican food, with a little extra fanciness. There's a good reason they've been in business so long!
It's always great here. The food is fresh and consistently delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. Make sure you have a reservation!!!
Always pleasurable! Great food. Reasonable prices. Good service. Coupons available. Fun, lively & a bit noisy. Reservations recommended.
4 for dinner. No reservations, they took us right in. But that was at 5. I suggest reservations. Fish tacos so delicious. Sides are also wonderful. The drinks are so good. Nicely stocked bar.
The best Mexican food bar none in the Capital District and we're very fortunate to be just a few miles from it 😀 Consistency thru out the Years keeps me coming back for more. Their House Margaritas are the Bomb too 😋 Rob is the most gracious Host and puts his Heart into it all. Go there you will love it!!!
If we have guests in town who want to dine out, Amigos Cantina is our first choice. Great menu, professional staff, and good atmosphere all add up to a wonderful experience. The food is always delicious and consistently prepared. And the Margaritas are large. This is a good thing.
Amigos has great food, great atmosphere and the greatest staff in the area. We celebrated our anniversary there and they truly made us feel special. It is our favorite restaurant in Saratoga County. We love it❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oh man, it's been a long time since I had Mexican food this good. I shared a crab cake appetizer with my husband, which we ate in record time, they were so good. My enchiladas were AMAZING, the pork was bursting with flavor and the sauce was beautifully spiced without being overly hot. If I had a singular critique it would be that the rice and black beans were a bit under seasoned for me. Definitely worth the trip from Schenectady!
Great place for takeout during a pandemic. Even though it is a bit of a drive for us the combination of very good food and safe and efficient takeout makes the trip worthwhile. The specials constantly change adding variety to an already good menu. There are actually some places that I have gone into where mask wearing among the staff was inconsistent. I have chosen not to return to those places. For people like me who don't want to get sick or spread the virus the fact that they have set up a safe and efficient system adds to the motivation of making the drive.
Wonderful place. Food, excellent. Fun atmosphere. Wait staff, friendly, attentive. Drinks service, often slow. Always very busy. Need reservations.
This place is amazing! Food is delicious. Something for everybody. Easy to order take out online. Food was ready quickly and correctly. Haven't gotten a bad item yet!
Truly authentic Mexican food! So delicious, fresh warm nachos, the best tequila I've ever had. Prices are reasonable. Definitely will be back!
Had dinner for the first time on July 30th. Food was very good, margaritas were great, the restaurant is very clean, very friendly staff, service was unbelievably fast. Heather, the bartender is very nice and friendly. 3 margaritas, dinner and a large salad to go $46. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed. 👍👍
I eat here quite often, but tonight I got the grilled chicken enchiladas with jalapeño sauce, refried beans and rice. It was absolutely outstanding. I highly recommend this place. Delicious fresh food at a reasonable price
I love Amigos. I have had nothing but great meals and experiences there. Food, fantastic and flavorful. Price points are good. Music, fantastic. Decorations amazing. Staff, wow, what a fantastic staff. There is not one thing about that restaurant that I don't like. It is now on my craving list.
So yummy!! Got the fish taco special and the fish was so crispy and just everything about it was amazing! Definitely want to make a reservation, it's a hopping place on a Saturday night. The Aztec lemonade was so refreshing also. Will definitely be back!
As good as always! We love this place! Whether we dine in or grab takeout it's always great. Highly recommend checking it out for yourself!
The servers and margarita selection is excellent! Now about their pre-made meat selection. Cumin over emphasize on way to much!
Definitely the best tacos I have ever had. My wife and I travel to Florida regularly and always look for good fish tacos. Cod street tacos were amazing and to top it off my wife had a beef and chicken tacos that not only were an amazing flavor but the flour taco shell was crispy, which just elevated the flavor just one more notch higher.. Amazing jem of a place, great atmosphere and a must visit if you are in the mood for tacos!!
We stumbled upon this cool lil place by accident. We are so glad that we did. Our experience was great. The food was fantastic. It was the best chimichanga I ever have had. Our server was delightful. The decor was festive. The place stayed constantly busy. There were families and couples. Parking was slightly limited. The washrooms were clean. If we ever come back to town we will be stopping in!
hands down the best mexican food in the area (i live in glens falls). the nachos, chicken enchiladas, beef tacos, and spicy margaritas are some of my favorites. reservations are encouraged, especially on the weekends because they do get quite busy. if you haven’t been and are considering, definitely go!
Went here for the first time over the weekend and was blown away! The atmosphere is your typical Mexican flare with colors, lighting and decorations. There is also traditional music playing, which is pretty common in Mexican restaurants. What I appreciated about Amigos is that the music wasn't playing so loud that I couldn't hear myself chew! Ours chips came out still warm, super crunchy and a perfect amount of salt. Salsa was delish! Both of our main meals were perfectly prepared. We had the chicken chimichangas and the steak street tacos with rice and refried beans. I hardly ever eat the rice and beans as I always find them to be a little underseadoned, but that stuff was amazing at Amigos! I literally cleared my whole plate. I was uncomfortably full for the next 24 hours, but once everything digested, I wanted to go back and try something else! That will definitely be a contender for regular visits on taco Tuesday!
If you're seeking a experience beyond downtown Saratoga, you absolutely must visit this Mexican eatery. Their delectable tacos and queso are simply mouthwatering. Every dish is prepared with utmost freshness, and the prices are remarkably affordable. Notably, all the sauces, made in house, contribute to the exceptional flavors. Additionally, the bartender's warm and welcoming nature adds to the overall charm of the place, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Undoubtedly, this establishment serves some of the finest Mexican cuisine in the area.
Good food for good prices. We have been here a few times and it never disappoints. The tacos are a good size too, so when I usually need to get 3 at other places, here 2 are more than enough.
Had problems ordering online, called restaurant to ask for assistance and the man who answered the phone said he couldn't help and hung up on me. Horrible phone etiquette, terrible service. Edit: Went to restaurant, woman at the bar was warm, friendly, efficient, solved my problem. Review revised. (Find someone else to answer the phone!)
Had a good dinner. Our food looked great and tasted the same. Staff was friendly and attentive. Although the table near the door in the bar section had a draft from outside, but other than that, will look forward going back.
Amigo's is absolutely mine and the kids favorite restaurant ever and due to my dislike for cooking, we dine out more than some. We are huge fans of mexican food and have ventured globally to try new restaurants and to date believe it or not...without question, Amigo's tops the list. Having said that, let me clarify by say I am definitely referring to the food. I highly recommend having lots of time and planning on two baskets of chips because their service even on a slow night is marginal....Still worth the trip.
The food here is excellent.. unfortunately the service is slow, took forever to get our food! our server was friendly..but just not very attentive. The atmosphere is fun, really cute place.
Cool resturaunt! Wonderful food. Just our waitress's attitude made it a horrible experience which was too bad. The manager and owner were very nice, respectful and understanding.
The food was a bit too salty to my taste. But it was decent for classic american Mexican overall. We were a big group of 12. But it did not look too busy when we were there. But we waited for almost an hour before everyone got our food on the table.
Went last week. Had reservations. Was seated right away but then waited over 30 mins for a waitress. Asked for the most expensive margaritas with sugar, and it came with salt. ew. The food was AMAZING!!!! The staff was not very attentive. You could get more for your money in my opinion but the food does taste great and you wont leave hungry.
A very nice place to go for a meal, especially if you like the look & feel of a place. The portions are fairly large, tasty, and you leave feeling full. I went when the dinner was at peak service & so the staff was very busy & seemingly disorganized at times, but ultimately I had a good experience & will be back.
Very slow service, waitress never came back to check on drinks, had to flag another one down to get our bill. Food was very tasty, decent options and price.
I went with my husband and another couple , the guys got fajitas, that they said were good, but us girls got Mexican pizza and they were the worse Mexican pizzas I ever had. Taco bell makes better ones. It came on a heated taco shell with beef mixed with refried beans ,that turned into a paste that was then spread on the shell. No cheese or any kind of toppings at all. It deff did not resemble a pizza. Don't order this!!
Food was good. Service ok. We went as 3 couples and they were unable to give us separate checks. It took our table around 1/2 hour to figure out who owed what for food, tips and taxes. Really frustrating. So, I let the manager know about our frustration. His response was “how much did you all have to drink?” Not going back!
I really want to like Amigos more, but the food just isn't that great for the price you pay. The kids menu must have been created by someone who has no kids, as the portions are huge and the menu items are boring, I have eaten here a dozen times and each time I am reminded that I have enjoyed the company of my part much more than the actual dining experience provided by Amigos.
It was fine. I enjoyed the ambience, the bartender (also our server) was nice and the margarita was decent. The food was not bad, but also not very good. Clearly fresh, but underseasoned, and like others said -it took way too long to come out (but not quite long enough to encourage us to order a second round.) I will eat there again, for sure, they cleared the bar, but the bar is set pretty low around these parts. If it was located in the West and fresh Mex was everywhere, I probably wouldn't bother. Oh, and apparently you need reservations on the weekend?
Adequate at best, this is not the best Mexican restaurant in the area, and it's far from the best around as I have been told and seen. I have trouble rating ethnic food that's not made by that ethnicity. We recently relocated from Phoenix so we know Mexican. We must recently went on a Friday night, and the staffing is dismal, parking is dismal, and frankly, aside from they are the only game in the village, I'm surprised they are still popular. The special desert was a chocolate cheesecake that was too dry to eat. The refried beans looked like they been on my plate ten minutes before serving, which may have been. The wait staff is slow. They are only open 20 hours a week and close several times a year apparently to allow the owner an out of state vacation. Maybe in one of these trips, he can visit a real Mexican place and see how it works. I suggest you drive to Saratoga where I have personally found much better food and impeccable service.
First time ever at this establishment. Our waitress was fantastic... That's all I can really say on the positive side. The food was bland the cocktails were on the okay side. Sadly to me the price for food and beverage was not at all reflective. Poorly excuted food and overly priced for the quality.
Our first time here for an early dinner, dining room had people at 2 other tables. Service was slow throughout the evening, we were not offered any water, margaritas were so-so, a bit watery. We found out wait staff were serving between 2 dining rooms! We watched as other tables which came in after us got their water, drinks & food before we did. Steak fajitas were cooked as ordered, but lacked any flavor (no seasoning at all not even salt), chicken fajitas fared a bit better. Portions of sour cream, pico de gallo, tomatoes were extremely small, barely enough for 2 flour tortillas. Asked for guacamole which ended up coming at the end of the meal. Server asked if we were finished and we’d get the check, not asking about dessert. When we finally received the bill, we noticed a $3.37 ‘transaction fee’ was added to the bill without any explanation - wth?! Looked for someone in management for explanation, but couldn’t find anyone. Overall, very disappointing evening. We did however take home the key lime pie and churros for dessert which were excellent (hence the 2 stars). We only wish we could say the same for the rest of the meal. For the the $100+ we spent, we expected better.
We have been here 4 times before and unfortunately we were disappointed. The chimichanga was smaller and the beef was not as good as it used to be, and the red sauce was more like a beef bullion sauce, not tasty at all. The margaritas? Not that great, and overall for the prices we will not be back.
I was very disappointed with my most recent visit here! I have been coming here for years and it seems as though the quality has gone done recently. Everything was always super fresh, but this time this was just not the case. The new expansion is nice visually, but the whole place lacked atmosphere as there was no music playing at all. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, but the drinks and food subpar. The chips that were provided were tasty, but were given in tiny soup bowls, with additional refills of chips only available at additional cost. The margaritas were ok, but tasted as though something was missing from them. Drinkable, but not good. Some members in our party enjoyed their entrees which includes the enchiladas, fish and shrimp tacos, but side dishes were awful and flavorless. The rice tasted old, were mushy, and had no flavor whatsoever. The beans were cold, crusty, and not edible as they appeared to have sat for quite a long time and had been burned and scraped off the bottom of the pan. I’m very sad to be writing this as we have enjoyed amigos for quite some time, however, I can’t say that we will be returning.
Kitchen did an amazing job, and food was timely. Food was excellent. Waitress was absent. Gone. Took order. Handed us our plates. Never came back. No water refill. No how is everything. Had to seek check from host. Establishment lost $60 on second round of drinks 🤷🏼♀️.
Ugh. I was so excited to try this place. We decided to give it a shot instead of our usual favorite spot in downtown Saratoga due to the busy track season. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with only these words “do you have a reservation?” No hello, welcome in, nada. So it started the night with a sour taste in my mouth 🤨 We were seated next to the front window which was covered in cobwebs and lots of flys. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita which was not very good. I only ended up drinking 1/4 of it. Food was good, but we felt it was definitely not authentic Mexican food for the price we paid. Extra $$ for rice & beans which should be a staple side at a Mexican restaurant is a shame. Waitress was OK… not very attentive, but not terrible. Still left a good tip regardless. I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.
We have eaten there 5-6 times and it was always OK until last night. To start the chips are so salty you could hardly eat them and we didn’t. Then came the chile rellenos they were huge but awful. All breading and very greasy buried in cheese and no flavor couldn’t eat them.Main course was shrimp special and it was OK my shrimp enchiladas were buried in greasy cheese and tasteless. Won’t be back.
My wife, in-laws and I had dinner here for the first time on 8/5/2022. I ordered the Cadillac Margarita and the first one that came out tasted like straight lime juice. I don’t normally make a fuss about a drink but if I’m paying $14 for a margarita I’d like to taste the tequila. So I made a small comment to the waitress that it tasted like lime juice and no tequila and she said she would have another one made. About 10 minutes later the bartender came out and was extremely rude and condescending, telling me she makes all the drinks the same way. She had me try the second one and it tasted much better, but she continued to be rude and say “Well I make them all the same way so you just had the same drink.” Well it definitely didn’t TASTE the same way. The food was great, the waitress was kind and attentive, and all but that one drink was good. However, due to the bartender’s terrible attitude and rudeness we will never go back. That is not the way to interact with your customers.
Margaritas tasted watered down. Expressed our concern to the waitress and she suggested ordering it without ice, so we did. When we got it, it tasted the same but worse because it wasn't cold. Waitress also didn't check on us once during our meal. Disappointing. It was my birthday dinner.
We really liked the patio area and wanted to go and sit outside - sat in the lower patio area right by the cactus (our 3yr old son really liked it). We were seated and had chips/salsa and that was it. Saw/spoke with no one for about 20-30 mins and had to leave. Lots of wait staff outside in the upper section of the patio area, but not one person came over other than the one guy who brought out the chips & salsa (thank you for those by the way). Unfortunately, we couldn't wait any longer for dinner for our son and had to leave. It's disappointing that not one other person ever came down to check in and even offer any assistance, take our orders, anything at all. -reply- We did not realize it was first night reopening, it's understandable to have to get back into the swing of things- we'll have to stop in some time again soon then- thanks for your reply.
Just returned from a date night at Amigos. This has to be hands down the worst experience I've had in quite some time. The service was slow and inattentive. The food was over cooked and dry. The staff didn't seem to care. And worst of all... the "manager" on duty had only this response... "we are going through a bit of a transition and I'll let the owners know that you weren't happy about the experience" My suggestion... let them complete their "transition" which may take a few months then give them a try. I won't be back... enter at your own risk. Perhaps the most disappointing part of this is that we are frequent customers and have never been disappointed. Now I cant say that.
I went here tonight with two co-workers from out of town. This was their first time going to Amigo’s and they drove an hour to meet me here for dinner. I have been here many times before. We made a reservation on Wednesday for tonight. Tonight we waited a long time to get our drinks and food, way longer than usual and they were not very busy. Then about 5 minutes after we finished our meal and paid, the OWNER approached our table, asked if we paid our bill, and told us he needed our table for a large group that just came in, so we would need to leave for them to use the table. It was very rude. There was no offer to move us or mention of sitting at the bar. There were also other tables finished around us, but were not asked to leave. I have never had this happen at a restaurant before. I guarantee if I was with my parents, who go there frequently, he would not have asked us to leave. I am very disappointed and embarrassed that I brought my co-workers here tonight.
Disappointed with this restaurant and I did not even get the chance to taste the food, sadly, because I was excited for their mail coupons but their rules are as follows - You can only place a takeout order online, I tried three times and it kept telling me there was an error. I went inside to try to resolve it and spoke to whom I beleive was a manager if not an owner even and he told me there was no possible way for me to order takeout except online. What is that for service? You can dine-in and place your order but an outside order cannot be placed the same way!?!? Also called Amigos Cantina but seemed very American staff to me .
This place was recommended by a friend so we went. It was not good. I had chicken fajitas, my husband had the 3 enchiladas, and our son had the quesadilla (sp?) Everything was dry and bland including the black beans. The only thing that was okay was the chips and salsa and the regular margarita. I ordered a second margarita, wanted to try the jalapeño cucumber margarita (I've had jalapeño margaritas before) and I couldn't drink it. It was all jalapeño nothing else. Terrible. We will definitely not be going back to this place. Service was good though.
We booked a reservation for five people, but when we arrived, one of them was canceled, and the host made us wait for 20 minutes before canceling the table we had requested, forcing us to sit near the kitchen, which was unpleasant. Reservation 730. They close at 9 p.m. How many people arrive after 7:40 p.m. Nobody came to the table after we left at 8:50. There is a lot of better tables are available.
First time here, I wanted to try it because I heard a lot of great things about it from friends. But I was extremely disappointed. The margarita and the food wasn’t great at all. All of the foods tasted like cumin seasoning which is a very strong seasoning to use heavily. I will not be back.
Excited to try a new place! Sat at bar and the bar tender greeted us and told us they had the best margaritas. We tried a house and a flavored one as well. They were ok Food was good however the bartender seemed to become less friendly as we waited for our food. She warned us the food would be very hot which was appreciated. She did point to someone else’s food and told us our choice would be the same size. It was not. It was at least 1/3 less in size. We said nothing. Food was good however the bartender seemed annoyed to wait on us as we ate. It was borderline uncomfortable sitting there but we ate our food. The check came and we asked about an additions $3.50 for a flavor added to the margarita. When we questioned this the bartender turned snarky and she said “it’s $3.50 more I know my menu you want to see it!” She then told us the strawberry flavor had alcohol in it and proceeded to slam the bottle of the flavor in front of us to view. By then I’d had enough and paid her. Ironically the menu online shows $1 for flavor. It isn’t even the money it was the rudeness of this bartender! Oh her name is Heather. We paid and left a more than fair tip (19%) We decided it was not an experience we think people would want to have so we called the manager who came to the phone and explained he was busy - I guess too busy to know what’s going on let alone to care. So we just said sorry to BOTHER you and hung up. There was some unnecessary attitude from Heather and I’m uncertain to why! We will not be returning and are truly disappointed.
Yes I read the many great reviews, and have been there on numerous occasions. BUT you tell me why 9/26 Saturday night it took almost 1.5 hours to get our food...there were others in same predicament. Sorry Rob, your a nice guy, your staff is great but you don't even offer the table a round of drinks for the wait? Getting a little greedy there...won't come back. Sorry.
Very disappointed, it was the first time there and everyone knew it. We ordered our food and a margarita. The drink was good and the people around were great. We placed a order to go. One meal we asked for the rice and beans as well, unfortunately no rice or beans. We also ordered chips and guac.... surprise guess what also was missing when we got home. It's a shame the food we did get was mediocre and they basically forgot half of what we ordered. Needless to say this was a one and done never going back
