The Artichoke Grill

The best value AND one of the finest restaurant in Scottsdale. Its the toughest to get dinner reservation in the valley, as they only open three days a week during school season, with five menus rotated each week. Its mostly classic recipes, fit for foodies on a budget.

Great atmosphere and awesome experience for the students. Really good food and a great price, for lunch or dinner. I'm biased, as I work on campus and I take guests there to eat fairly regularly.

We went for a Birthday Dinner this year. I enjoyed the experience. It is completely student run. They are learning hands on and the food is unique and delicious.

Would not know it was student run. Sooo professional and amazing service. Food was mindblowing - elevated high cuisine.

It was a great experience. Everyone was very friendly and the food was amazing! Drinks were awesome too, but no alchohol?! We were even given a tour of the kitchen 😀

Many do not know this but you will get kicked out of The Artichoke Grill if you eat an artichoke. One time I went into this place and I had some spinach and artichoke dip. I thought because the artichoke was mixed in with the dip I could go unscathed. The next thing I know Arty The Atichoke himself came out! He told me that he would beat me within inches of my life if I did not leave. The dude was scary.

Food is absolutely wonderful, the students do an astronomical job!! The atmosphere is friendly!

The serving staff are learning and nervous but the quality of the food and the attentiveness were first rate.

Our gals on the go group went to artichoke grill for lunch today ((2/5/25). The food was wonderful and the students did a great job. My main waiter was Sean and I hope our table put him at ease by the end of the lunch. He is a great kid and I’m so glad we had him as our main server. All of the students helped each other and it was fun to see the young people enjoying serving others. The instructor was also very informative as to the program and it’s goals. I would recommend eating here but make sure you make a reservation.

This restaurant is part of the Culinary Arts program at Scottsdale Community College. Everytime we visit we have received a wonderful four course meal including homemade breads, an appetizer (soup, salad, or a variety of hors d'oeuvres), a featured entree, and a dessert sampler. The food is magnificent. The cost is reasonable. My wife and I try to visit as often as possible during the eight months a year they are open.

I visited and enjoy a meal with friend at the Artichoke Grill. The grill is lunch, Oasis is dinner. These dining spots are for the SCC Culinary school first semester students to gain experience preparing and serving a meal - from start to finish. Ours was superb. Prices are reasonable. They will not disappoint you.

Dinner starter, soup/salad, entree, desert, and beverage all for $30. SCC culinary school restaurant. The food was very good. The limited menu had variety and changes weekly. Lunch is available too. The student staff was professional and friendly. They aim to please. The spot is in ther east end of campus near the park and ride. No booze on the menu (it's on campus and on rez) but they make alcohol-adjacent drinks :) Recommend checking them out for a fine dining experience without fine dining prices.

Ways fantastic food, and very inexpensive for what you're getting! The chefs and servers are all students but you wouldn't know if from the quality of what they are producing. Absolutely everything seems to be made in house, down to the dressing and fresh pastries. I always love being able to stop in for a nice lunch when I have time! You'll need to park over by the AP building... Follow the sign for deliveries from the main road and weave around. It's on the left of the drop off circle and can be easily accessed by parking near the accessible parking on the left half of the parking lot. Can fill up because students are parking for classes!

This is the training establishment for the culinary students of Scottsdale Community College. The decor is very comfortable - it looks like a fine dining place. The presentation of the food is very good - the students' efforts in this regard are successful. We've heard the service is very good, but not on our visit. The server was very nervous, and, even though it was her second week at this station, she exhibited very little knowledge about the menu. We will try the place again.

Fun. The main dish (lamb) and the salad, with its different herbs and mint, were lovely. The dessert sampler could have been better quality -- not using refined sugar, specifically (there are so many other natural sweeteners to use these days. Refined sugar is dead on the palate, and over-utilized), and the flavors in it weren't quite right -- especially together.

I don’t often write reviews but our service tonight prompted me to so this. It is my birthday so we took our best friends to the restaurant for a special celebration. One of our party ordered the Pork Chop. It was brought out very undercooked. Very unprofessional. Our friend is a retired butcher! So we told them and they took the same piece of pork BACK on the grill and brought back. I believe that is unlawful. Cooked more and brought back 20 minutes later. Although they took the cost off our bill the precedence here has me very bothered.
