I’m just being honest. I had the pleasure of being served by Monica. She had a nice personality, but I guess due to my order of choices, felt as if I did not require any attention.! still tipped my usual $20 as I do everywhere I go because I respect people in the surface industry. Also, the Ceaser was just borderline of too much Ceaser Period the soup was salty. Don’t know if I ever come back there again more than likely won’t but God bless everyone. Have a good night.

I had dinner at the Shirley Applebees a few nights ago and it was amazing! Our server Maria went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dinner and made the overall experience very fun and enjoyable, excellent customer service and food! We will definitely be back soon!

My dad and I go to Applebee’s every Friday just to sit with our favorite waitress alicia. She gets us our food super fast and I love that it’s my favorite. And when we don’t get sat with Alicia my other favorite waitress is Alexis. They are very attentive and we appreciate it.

I went to Applebees for dinner with my family and I was so glad to see Alicia was back! The service was phenomenal. Alicia is the BEST server at this Applebees location! Every time I’m seated in her section she already knows my drink order and has it out within the first 2 minutes of sitting down! She is so genuinely kind and always wears the biggest smile on her face! She works harder than anyone I know and will do anything she needs to do to rectify any situation and keep the customer happy

I went to Applebee's in Shirley with my daughter on April 6 and I wanted to order their chicken rice bowl. I really like it but I don't like the spices. I have recently been put on a diet with less salt and sugar so I asked my server if they could make it without the spices. He said he would try and he went out of his way to provide me with the best food and experience, he even went as far as to explain to me what he thought was really spicy and what he thought we should put on the side and omit. It turned out delicious and I appreciated so much him taking the time to talk to me. His name is Dereck N. and I truly appreciated him. Great job Applebee's Shirley.

My husband and I come here often. Last Friday we had a terrible experience and expressed our concerns with both the manager as well as the host Denise. Last night exceeded our expectations. Tom was our server. He is amazing very friendly, outgoing and efficient. Virginia who is usually a host saw us and came over to our table. She said Denise told her about our concerns last week and wanted to check in. Even though Tom was our server, she continued to come to our table to ensure everything was going great while still being attentive to her tables. It was as if we had two servers, both amazing with service and super funny together

We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was fantastic, and the service by our waitress Taylor was outstanding. We have never had a more attentive and super friendly server. She was so polite and helpful. We will always request to be seated with Taylor. We will be back soon!

I’m not crazy about Applebee’s food I don’t go very often. I always get the pretzel sticks that’s all I like. So with that out of the way. The staff here is great. Swift, polite, accurate, and personable. Tony is a great bartender. Pretzel sticks came out fast and delicious. Bathrooms were nice and clean. I like this place.

Had a really great experience at the Applebee’s in Shirley. Joe the manager is awesome always smiling :) super friendly, always checking in, and really makes sure everything runs smoothly. Monica behind the bar was amazing too, super personable, quick with drinks, and just had such a good attitude the whole time. They both made the atmosphere so much better and you can tell they actually care about their customers. This is definitely one of those places you come back to because of the people. Will for sure be back!

This local spot has really stepped up its game over time - we've had some rough experiences in the past, but Taylor's exceptional service has made all the difference. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly and our drinks arrived in a flash. Taylor was super helpful in guiding us through the menu, recommending the perfect appetizer and entree to start with. We opted for the classic combo, which was a fantastic choice - the food was just delicious! What really impressed us was Taylor's attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for ensuring we had an amazing dining experience. She even recommended an amazing dessert - the pecan blondie with ice cream, which was a total game-changer. And for just $1.29 extra, we got an additional scoop of ice cream - talk about a steal! It's clear that this place is working hard to make its customers feel welcome and at home. Kudos to Taylor for providing top-notch service that felt truly personalized. This Applebee’s is probably the nicest one I’ve ever been to! Went as a large group for lunch, and didn’t call ahead (apologies wasn’t my idea!) but they were very accommodating and everything still came out fast. The food was very good, and as I mentioned did not take long from order time to table. Portion sizes are also very large for the price! Looking at $10-$20 per person without drinks. (Average for our group was about $15 before drinks) The waitress was very nice, and spent an appropriate amount of time checking on our table to refill drinks and see if we needed anything. Never felt like I had to ask for anything, and also served everyone a water which I always think is a nice touch. Overall, great spot to grab lunch. The deals they have during the week also make it a great spot to go during a lunch break. Super sad I’m visiting as I’d love to come here again.

The food at this location is way too salty, and the service is tremendously slow, however it does have a cozy vibe to it (in contrast to the Patchogue location). I recommend going during half apps, otherwise prices aren't really worth it.

I don’t visit Applebee’s often — it’s usually a once-in-a-blue-moon treat for me — but I’ve always enjoyed dining in because the meals taste their best that way. Now that I dine with my two boys (4 and 2), our table is usually loud, lively, and entertaining for everyone around us. I appreciate how hands-on the manager is with both the team and the customers. Years ago, I found that a bit unusual, but now I genuinely like seeing leadership involved. Our waiter was also very friendly and kind to my boys, which I truly appreciated. My only critique is around team communication. It seemed like there was a disconnect between the waiter and the server. My waiter reassured me that all our food wouldn’t come out at once, but the server delivered everything back-to-back. With two little ones reaching for everything, it made things a bit challenging. Overall, great service — just a little more coordination would make the experience even better.

***April 2025 Review*** Down 4/5 to now 3/5 We returned about a week later because it was the best option at that time and location for what we were doing, and our location —to stop, sit, and grab something. So... we went again! So disappointed 😞 The service, again, was slow. They had plenty of staff, which I observed. The food was bland and cold. Again, I had chicken tacos (an appetizer that is honestly my favorite OMG so good ) and warm French onion soup! My husband's bacon burger only had three pieces of bacon on it. Seriously??? First review: This particular night was busy. Service was slower than usual, but that was acceptable. My only complaint was that my appetizer was cold.

Food is usually pretty good. They have some good drink deals and half apps like any other Applebee's. I have never had a good server there they never check up on my table. They always leave your drink empty. Not the best but also not the worst.

I ordered the 6 oz steak medium well & I guess I got there too early to pick it up because it was rare. I had to go home and cook it in my oven. I would've waited for it to be cooked correctly. I've been here many times but the service on this visit was just ok. My wife, daughter and I ordered salads with poultry combinations. Both my wife and I got chunks of lettuce a tad too large for comfort. Other than that the service from the server was alright, no bells and whistles though.

Burgers not cooked as requested then waitress tells us we needed to ask for them well done to get them the way we wanted. They did remake them and then they were good. Otherwise "2 for" deal still a good value.

I checked in for a pick up with a delivery service app, I was told the order would be brought out to me in my vehicle. Waiting patiently and able to see clearly through the glass door, I noticed bagged meals placed on the counter and employees looking out the glass door but not bringing anything out. (Surely these meals can't be the one I'm waiting for) After watching other gig workers stopping and picking up their orders, I 👀 waited about 5 minutes and see the same bag that's been sitting and getting cold. (Could this be my order)I got out to check how much longer the wait would be and was disappointed to find that bag was mine.

My server was nice. My drinks were okay. My appetizer trio was cold. I had the salad with the shrimp for my entree, it was okay. The salad was blah and the shrimp were a bit salty, the bread stick was very crispy/tough. My friend had the 12 oz steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak was almost well done, not medium and everything else was alright.

Not the biggest fan of Applebee's. My family likes it so I go with the flow. Food is very mediocre. Small portions that you can tell come from a bag or container or whatever corporate requires. We all know this and know what to expect concerning the meal. This particular chain has exceptional service. Kind staff who are sincere and attentive. Place is clean and accommodating. If you're in the mood for Applebee's I reccomend this one.

Not the the favorite place of mine. I took my family out to dinner on mother's day. Our time there was very bad at first we where seated had wait to order drinks and appetizers plate . When ordered our plates they took extremely long they had seated two other tables about the same size and where served sooner .the really worst was our food came at different times and 3 orders where wrong so bad that we sent them back. The service was terrible, rude and clueless...it took a while to bring cutlery and napkins and he didn't respond in a friendly manner, the place is nice and its variety of dishes and prices but no one wants to pay and receive bad service...bathrooms a little neglected and there weren't even that many customers due to the bad service and neglected bathrooms... as diners and clients we went out to have a good time, enjoy good food and above all receive good service. We pay for quality, we deserve it , They even left us the bill receipt lying on the table without its usual folder that should hold the bill...every detail counts in a restaurant, we pay for experience...and good times

Almost an hr and half wait for a table for 8 people. Whike they let groups of 6 and 4 go ahead. Manager didnt really seem to care and wanted us to show sympathy for him. Half the food orders were missing items... 3 hes of my life wasted. Thanks for a great time applebees

Went there tonight. My husband ordered penne. It HAD METAL IN IT!! The manager Noel acted as if it was no big deal. We frequent this restaurant and will never go back there again. The entire table should have been covered. No questions asked. Instead they only took off the one dinner. There was ice in the beer and orders incorrect. An absolute disgrace.

I got a to go order and got a confirmation that the food would be ready when I got there however, I had to wait 40mins on line in the cold drizzling rain with my kids, when I finally got to the door to receive my food it was completely chaotic the girl who was cashing in the orders was very nice and patient even though the internet server was very slow, the manager was completely frazzled and all over the place calling out the wrong names and almost giving away my order to someone else if I haven’t said something. The food was pretty good despite being cold due to the long wait except for my dessert where I found a piece of steak on the top of my caramel blondie...definitely need better management!

It was not a pleasant expierience! Place was not crowed at all, yet we had to wait to be seated and the hostess "greeted" us from across the room and waved us to our seats. Our order was not correct and the fries were ice cold. I get that it's not fine dinning but $70.00 for dinner for 2 people should account for something.

We went to the Shirley location for my daughter's birthday last night. I have to say, it was the worst meal I've ever had.. my 8 oz steak was terrible. My mashed potatoes were more soup, i couldn't even keep them on my fork. Cole slaw was good. Taco wonton's were good. Pretzel's and cheese, good. For apps and drinks it's fine. The dishes we had weren't cheap and weren't Good. Waitress was barely Okay.

The service here always seems to be pretty bad and thats not just this trip. We have had maybe one good trip there with good service. My last trip we had sat for dinner. We got water for drinks, we waited for about 15 minutes and ended up walking to the bar tender to get our drinks because the server was standing in the back talking to colleagues. Food was pretty good, pretty standard but the service killed the night. If you do go here just save the trouble and get carry out.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Let's preface. Got there around 6pm, 610 the latest on Monday may 12th. Wasn't busy in the slightest. Was seated within 1 minute of walking in, great. We're a party of 2 adults and 3 kids. Got seated, put our drink order in (legit just waters and an ore shake) and the kids food. Came out within 10 minutes, also great. Didn't see the waitress again for about 15 minutes when she finally took our orders. Chose from the 2 for $33 menu, nothing extravagant, with mozzarella sticks for the chosen appetizer. And we waited. And waited. And waited. Table of 2 was sat directly next to us and had their appetizers ordered and brought to their table 10 minutes before our mozzarella sticks. Mind you, they were seated at least 25 minutes AFTER we ordered. Was there about 45 minutes to an hour BEFORE WE EVEN HAD THE APPETIZER. didn't even sit to eat out meal, got it wrapped to go. Wasn't even checked on by wait staff until the appetizer came out. Again, not busy in the slightest with plenty of staff running around. First and last time we'll ever be here

What a joke!!! I ordered 3 extra sauces and you filled the box with my sauces that I PAID FOR! I don’t think you added enough salt!!! Sarcasm cause all I taste is salt - Ew Ew Absolutely EW!!! Do yourself a favor and avoid this establishment. Just left, disgusted with the filth. First thing that caught our attention was the state of the carpeting. Not only is it in need of a deep cleaning, which considering the time of year we can understand but obviously hadn’t been tidied in a while. The worse was being seated at a 4 top that had not been properly cleaned. Sticky throughout. We took it upon ourselves to move to a different table only to see it in the same state. A third table as well. Unbelievable. Upon bringing it to the host’s attention, the manager approached us. We informed him to which he replied, “Thank you for bringing it to our attention.” If this blatant lack of cleanliness needs to be brought to attention, I hesitate to think of the quality of food prepared at this particular location. For what it’s worth, the restaurant was not busy as a few employees were conversing.

Today was my daughter's birthday and we were in Applebee's we spent 1 hour and never got the food and they said even made the food was so sad, we never will be there again!!!

After my experience tonight, I know why this place was empty at 6pm. Three meals, all were awful. Burger was raw, ribs were burned and were more bone than meat, and someone dumped a pile of pepper into the chicken bowl and it was inedible. Charged 2.50 for 5 waffle fries, the boneless wings came with a single sorry stalk of celery. To top it off, the District Manager and GM were on location with less than 15 people in the place, you would think the cooks would look to impress them and management would look to ensure the customers plates were perfect. They took the ribs off the bill, said they were taking the burger off but didn't, and left the bowl on there. 60 bucks plus tip thrown in the trash. Save your money.

After waiting an hour for our food 2/3 of the meals were inedible, sfter sending that back and waiting 30 more minutes more disappointment, my waitress was unprofessional and pretty unhelpful, tipped $21 but truthfully you deserved like $5 if that, full staff needs a refresher course on how to work in the service industry
