The wine list showcases some of the most interesting wineries from the region, all at very reasonable prices. A real hidden gem just outside Varzi! We had lunch at Ristorante Buscone and it was a delightful discovery — from the local salame starter to the homemade ravioli di carne and the pork ribs, everything was excellent. Great quality for the price and the atmosphere of the small village where it’s located makes it even more special. Definitely recommended for something different in your weekends!

Worth the trip. You will have a hard time finding such good value for money. We payed 25 euro each for a three course meal of high quality. The cured meats were wonderful as were the pasta dishes. Do not miss this place !

A hidden treasure. The food quality here is outstanding. The attention to detail is evident in the presentation and flavors of the dishes. I opted for the menu degustazione during my visit, and it was a fantastic choice, every dish was unique and amazing. Among the various dishes, the costine di maiale stood out as my favorite. It was simply amazing, bursting with the incredible sauce that left a lasting impression. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is charming and inviting. The staff members are attentive and kind.

Sono stato in questo ristorante in una fredda serata, stufa a legna accesa, un bel ambiente confortevole ed accogliente. Ho preso il menù degustazione da 40 euro , antipasto (cotechino, pancetta, coppa e salame quest'ultimo di loro produzione) ottimo, ravioli di brasato ed un ottimo risotto con i porcini e capriolo stufato con polenta e tiramisù della casa. Da bere ho preso un' Ballabio, Farfalla Noir, Collection n°8, molto buono. È un buon ristorante. Ci ritornerò, complimenti.

UN TESORO NASCOSTO DELL'ALTO OLTREPO' PAVESE Oggi recensiamo Ristorante Buscone, un grazioso locale localizzato a Bosmenso Superiore, un borghetto nascosto tra le colline del più alto Oltrepo' Pavese, nella valle Staffora, alle porte di Varzi, città famosa per il suo salame DOP. Un autentico tesoro nascosto che se non si conosce non passerebbe nemmeno per l'anticamera del cervello di approdarci vista la posizione, io ci sono andato su referenze da parte di conoscenti di mio papà, infatti. La location non è enorme ma nemmeno piccola, tipica dei ristoranti a conduzione familiare, comprende due salette al piano terra e una più grande al superiore risultando accogliente. Il servizio è risultato attento e abbastanza puntuale, senza perdersi troppo (anche se chiaramente mettete in conto che non è un servizio rapido, giustamente, in questi locali si sta facilmente fino alle tre tra una portata e l'altra). Il menù è sia alla carta (con la scelta tra tre primi e quattro secondi oltre che tre antipasti) sia degustazione, caratterizzandosi per molti piatti tipici della zona come i ravioli di carne di razza varzese o l'antipasto col salame di Varzi da loro prodotto. Io ho preso il degustazione (35€, va fatto per tutto il tavolo) e devo dire che è strutturato bene e nemmeno troppo esagerato: si provano tutti i piatti con porzioni adeguate senza faticare a finirli ed è composto da antipasto (salame di Varzi, pancetta, insalata russa e cotechino), due primi che sono riso karbor con carciofi, ravioli, e un secondo a scelta tra cinghiale stufato al ginepro con polenta di mais ottofile o costine di maiale caramellate e patate oltre che dessert a scelta, acqua, 1/4 di vino e caffè. Salumi al top, risotto ben mantecato, ravioli corposi e saporiti, il cinghiale tanta roba e il dessert buono. Cucina che vale il viaggio a mio parere. Per quanto riguarda i prezzi, assolutamente onesti anche per la qualità da loro offerta: l'antipasto viene 13, mentre i primi e i secondi viaggiano sui 12-13, ottimo considerando che oramai i secondi partono minimo da 15. Un bel ristorante cui unica pecca risulta la lontananza dai capoluoghi di provincia e regione dato che è incastonato tra le colline dell'Oltrepo', ma ne vale sicuramente la pena raggiungerlo! This restaurant was recommended by friends, located in a charming little village. Even with GPS, we had a little trouble finding it, but we managed. We ate wonderfully, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with fast and punctual service. Nothing more to say than, "Thank you and congratulations." Their cured meats, pancetta, and salami, all made in-house, are sublime. The area boasts wonderful scenery, which makes the drive there pleasant. What more can I say than, "Come and try this little treasure."

really a good restaurant. taste and quality of food is super good and also staff are so friendly and helpful. inside is well-decorated and there are many spaces to sit in 2 floors. the menu is fixed and there are not many options which was a relief for me. also at the end they gave us some pieces of cake for free for tasting. the price is reasonble. the toilet is clean and fine.
