Maria's Restaurant

We haven't been here since 2018. Long overdue to try again. I got the Maria's Fajitas (chicken, steak & shrimp). My wife got the Chilli Relleno Omelette. We both enjoyed our meals. Both plates were large and generous. The waitresses are still very nice and considerate. All in all, a great meal. Also, the live wild flowers on each table are a nice touch! 2018 Great food. Came here for Saturday brunch. I had the chili relleno omlete and my wife has the chili Colorado omlete. Both we're really tasty. I would give this place 5 stars for the service alone. The waitresses were very sweet and attentive. Definitely a must return place.

This place had great food, incredible service, and reasonable prices. For me it was great in every aspect. Would definitely go back. I had a Carne asada burrito. The meat was chopped up very small. Great flavor. Also the chips and salsa was a little spicy but very good.

3rd visit in as many months and really like this place! What a bummer more people don't come here!!! Quaint, nice and clean. Food has been wonderful so far. If your afraid of having breakfast at a Mexican Restaurant, DON'T fear it here. They have many traditional American breakfasts. A wonderful selection of omelets, hotcakes, steak and eggs etc., along with awesome traditional Mexican dishes! ❤ Dont miss out. I wish I had tried them much sooner.

It was our first time at Maria's, and we had breakfast. It was delicious! The service was wonderful, the food was authentic and flavorful. We definitely will be back!

This place is awesome. We come for brunch just about every weekend. The wait is never too long, the staff is extremely friendly and attentive, and the food is amazing. If you come for breakfast I highly recommend the huevos rancheros. They also have a great drinks menu. Their Mexican coffee, margaritas, and bloody Marys are all fantastic as well. This is a little hidden gem in Simi and you owe it to yourself to come check it out!

What a wonderful dining experience. Went there on a whim, and was so pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was so nice and very attentive. Salad and french onion soup was really good. Had the pork chop and loved it. Great atmosphere.

Excellent Mexican food, would definitely recommend this place to all of my family and friends. Had a Carnitas Quesadilla tonight and it was awesome! There was enough for dinner and lunch tomorrow. Also ordered the ribeye tacos with queso fundito. GREAT! Best Mexican food in Ventura county.

What a gem! The food is wonderful! The Habanero salsa is spicy but just right, plus their home made Peruvian beans are excellent. Loved their Machaca omelette. Nice and generous portions too. Highly recommended and they are so nice!

Was working in the area, decided to check this place out for lunch. I must say, the food is quality. I ordered the Guacamole and Chips, and a Huevos Rancheros Breakfast plate. I love it, and the service is Excellent. Really make you feel at home @ this family owned restaurant.

I don’t know when they actually opened, but I’m sure we were missing out for a little while. Food was great, and the restaurant is a good size and simple. Don’t be late to this one like we were.

Simi Valley has no shortage of great Mexican restaurants, and Maria’s stands tall among the best. A true David among some well-known Goliaths. The service was impeccable during my first visit. I barely finished saying “I’d like a Pacifico” before an ice-cold one was placed in front of me. The complimentary salsa and chips were perfect—until I knocked the salsa bowl over like an amateur. No judgment, just a fresh bowl delivered with a smile. The fish tacos, rice, and beans were all spot on. I wish I could recreate that flavor at home. Honestly, the meal was so filling, I could’ve wandered the desert for 40 days without needing another bite. Moses highly recommends Maria’s.

Excellent food here. I love their asada plate and tacos. They also have great horchata. The decor is nice and there is also a patio section if you’d like to be outdoors. Very good service as well. Simi Valley is not a great place for hardcore foodies, but Maria’s would hold its own in most cities with their quality of food. There is also plenty of parking right in front.

Nachos are fire. Tacos are too. My wife liked her Passion Fruit Margarita. Had to buy her one so she wouldn't be mad that I wanted tacos again. Taco Tuesday special is up to 10 street tacos for 12 bucks. Since we had a huge plate of Nachos I was only able to eat 6. So disappointed in myself. Rookie numbers. I did try all 4 meats tho & they were all bomb. Go to Maria's. Do it.

First time here, and Maria's Did NOT Disappoint. In fact at 3am this morning, not being from the area, I asked my Simi Valley Family, 'Who serves The BEST Breakfast in All of Simi Valley?' The resounding response was "Maria's!!" And Boy, the reasons to enjoy Breakfast In Particular at Maria's are Plentiful! They have multiple staff on hand that come to your table and check on you constantly. Although Maria wasn't in, like many of the reviews I read where service was lacking due to this fact, Today Service was On Point!! We had a total of 6 meals for breakfast. Although I can only speak for My Meal, the others meals looked equally scrumptious. Their Chili Colorado Omelette was delivered hot And tasty. However, perhaps because I ordered it made with egg whites, it wasn't quite an omelette. It looked and was cooked like a Chili Relleno, but was not. Anyway, the bottom line is that it was deeeelicious!! Upon leaving they gave me info about their M&B Steak and Seafood, which has a 4.4 Stars. Apparently they will start offering Lunch Service Soon! I'll have to make my way back out to Simi, to give that place a try! Keep up the Great Work, Maria's. I can see why YOU are the 'breakfast dining choice' of many local residents.

This was the first time I've had amazing service in a good while. I was greeted instantly, I was asked if my food was good, I was brought my food fast, AND they even made me a item that wasn't not on the menu. Millions of thank you! That was our first time visiting and definitely not the last!

This was our first visit to Maria's & we loved it! I highly recommend it! Outstanding service & delicious food! I recommend the Enchiladas Verdes, they had so much flavor! The horchata was the best my family & I have ever had...it was so amazing I requested an adult version with rum for my husband & they kindly accommodated. He loved it! I enjoyed a delicious pineapple mimosa. My children ordered the quesadilla (my daughter said it was the best she had ever had) & my son ordered the chicken tenders & enjoyed them as well. We all enjoyed the chips & salsa (a pico de gallo style with a bit more spice). We will absolutely be frequent customers!

I need more allowance, so I can come eat here every day! Very tasty breakfast and I love that they use Peruvian beans instead of the ubiquitous pinto bean. Try the chilaquiles and tell ‘em Doug Funnie sent you!

Breakfast was great! Service was good, prices were ok, quantity of food was excellent. Omelet was not traditional but tasted great. Chilaquiles were good too.

I ordered the tamale and egg breakfast with flour tortillas, while another in our group chose a traditional French toast breakfast. The ability to choose between Mexican or American-style breakfasts, both with generous portions and excellent quality was truly impressive. I rarely write reviews, but this place absolutely deserved one. I sincerely hope Maria’s continues serving breakfast for many years to come, because I know I’ll be back again.

The food (as always) was amazing and everyone in our party loved it and ordered a huge variety of dishes.

The food is absolutely amazing! My large family of 15 went. Every single person enjoyed their meal and thought it was so delicious! Even the drinks are amazing. I’ve been searching for the best Mexican restaurant in the Valley for 3 years, and I finally found it! Will be coming back for sure! Such a hidden gem.

We come here on the regular and love the restaurant. The wait staff is friendly, the food is delicious, and consistent. The only downside is that Maria's is known to locals, and they don't always have staff to keep up with nights where the restaurant gets packed. However that's a minor problem to be so close to such great food!

The seasoning is a bit off across the board, the eggs are tough, the tortillas are a bit stale, the ingredient prep is a little sloppy - but it's all serviceable. It's not bad and it's clearly made from scratch, and sometimes that's all it needs to be.

Good hole-in-the-wall place. The food and the atmosphere are both comfortatable and casual. Thank staff is pleasant. Not a fine dining place but it is nice for a quick weekend bite.

Honestly this is the worst restaurant that I went in a long time the place and the service is pretty good but the food was horrible, I get a wet burrito with carnitas & chorizo and it was really bad the carnitas was from yesterday or from Tuesday I don’t know and the chorizo was bad honestly the whole burrito was so really bad, this was my first and last time that I go hopefully you guys have a great or better experience then me this happens on 06-05-2025.

On our second visit, we had a much nicer young server, but she was very inattentive. No drink refills, and she didn’t come back after the food was brought out. Another server came over when my daughter moved to a neighboring seat, which felt unnecessary since we were the only customers and the restaurant was empty. Bottom line: the food is good, but the service is consistently poor. Unfortunately, it’s not worth it.
