Everything was excellent. From the view, the access to private parking, the atmosphere and the food…we left very satisfied. Our day celebrating Father’s Day with our group of 25 people having lunch here was fantastic. I want to take the time to give a special thank to Nadia our server. She was absolutely wonderful. Also the other waitress who I don’t know his name but know he is from Marruecos, was very friendly and nice.
We had the best pizza here. The dough was so light and flavorful that we couldn't resist starting with the crust. The toppings were exquisitely fine; sweet onions and incredibly aromatic tuna made it a dream. We were even allowed to take the last slice home, and we're looking forward to it! The acoustics were a bit loud, but the atmosphere was superb with well-maintained decor and a breathtaking location. By the way, the room was absolutely fantastic. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and unintrusive. Top-notch! Thanks for the lovely evening ☺️
Fantastic food at this restaurant! Antipasti: octopus with olives and potatoes 8/10.. delicious (16 euro)..highly recommended Primi: Tagliolini (homemade pasta) with gambero rosso and pistachio (18 euro) 10/10… pasta is great, cooked at perfection and with an unbelievable taste… pistachio sauce was great but covered the gambero rosso taste, which I doubt was used for this dish.. gambero rosso has a very intense taste and I did not feel it. overall, gambero rosso or not this was a great dish….. the homemade pasta brings you to heaven and back. Pizza: Pizza bufalina (12 euro) 8/10.. great pizza… a mix between Neapolitan style and thin crust pizza.. highly recommended. Beverage: Aperol spritz 10/10… made at perfection for only 5 euro…refreshing and delicious.. a must have it for all seasons… Dolce: millefoglie with mixed fruits. Delicious, light … tasty… 9/10 As soon as you seat, bread ( fantastic quality and fresh..) grissini and tarallini ( great quality and great taste) are served to you.. Service: Fantastic 10/10 Location: Super 8/10 You MUST eat there.
Wow! Where to begin? I was a resident at Villa Pioppi in September/October 2022, for over one week. The purpose of the visit was to attend a wedding. We enjoyed many meals at Villa Pioppi, and we also enjoyed use of the pools, bar, accommodation and gardens. This is an absolutely stunning venue. It’s a really special place. Our accommodation was a ground floor room overlooking one of the pools. It had a great view of the lake also. The room was spacious, clean and well-equipped. Our small dog was allowed to stay with us, which made it even more special. The food here is absolutely excellent quality and very reasonably priced. Additionally, the food served on the wedding day was truly amazing, and designed to the unique specification of the Bride & Groom, if I understand correctly. The staff are so attentive and caring. They were exceptionally conscientious on the wedding day of course, but even on the other days they wanted to be useful as much as possible. Drinks at the bar were always made with a smile, and were always reasonably priced. Of course I was very sad to leave but we had a truly amazing time here. It will always be a special place because of the wedding, but even for those just looking for a hotel in the area, you simply cannot go wrong with Villa Pioppi. It is brilliantly located (only a short walk from historic Sirmione), with the best staff and the highest quality food & drinks you could wish for. I can’t wait to return again one day!
I don’t think you’d be able to find a restaurant with a better view of the sunset in Sirimione! Really lovely restaurant, well presented and the food is reasonably price considering the views you get. It’s also delicious food. I had the pistachio and shrimp pasta which was one of the tastiest meals I had in Lake Garda, my brother had the tuna which was incredible, just melted in your mouth. 10/10, would recommend.
Some of the foods were hard miss, some were excellent. they seemed to be made by different kitchens! Pizzas were great! Salads, mixed fried seafood and lasagna were fine, but the sea bass and something else we ordered (I forgot what) were bland and didn’t even taste fresh, like they just fired up some frozen premade tv meal.. anyway the place was soo beautiful! I have been here before a few years ago and had excellent lunch, that’s why we returned.. now we’re not sure anymore.. anyway the kitchen was opened during the afternoon, and we had no problem showing up without reservations, the place was almost empty
Lovely place with an amazing view of the lake. We stayed here one night, but ate here plenty of times. Most of the food was very good, with the exception of the Frutta di Mare which could have been executed better. The staff was friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere is everything you look for in a restaurant/hotel. I found the price of the stay to be quite high (€285 for one night) but I still look back on a great experience.
Really nice location with great view. Parking is also a big plus looking at the nightmare of finding a spot in Sirmione. Raw ingredients are really good (especially oysters and red shrimps). Pasta was a bit undercooked, but enjoyable for sure. Pizza was good. The restaurant has a really nice terrace that overlooks on the lake. Staff is nice and supports you in wine’s choice. I strongly recommend local white wines that pair very well with fish/seashells and help you cope with the heat.
I stayed here for two nights in mid November. There are two pools and direct access to the lake with a jetty. You could probably moor small boats. Seemed to me to be an excellent location for a family. The food we ate was very good It’s about a 15 minute flat walk to the castle area so it’s not as close as maybe advertised. enough to work off the pizza Excellent views
Very nice location. Getting to see the sun set across the lake was magical! When it comes to the food and service, they rely too much on being placed beautifully. A Coke Zero can take up to three reminders and 30 minutes to arrive. The food was decent, but arrived sporadically with many having already eaten before the last got theirs.
Excellent location of the restaurant. There is parking, which is important for this place. I ordered red baked fish with fennel (it's in the photo) and tiramisu. The fish turned out to be very small, sprinkled with fennel, which was unsuccessfully baked raw. This makes it dry. dessert tiramisu - as not the best interpretation (instead of savoiardi cookies and coffee there is dry puff pastry and instead of mascarpone - I still don’t understand what)
An absolute disappointment. While the location and historical nature of the villa suggest a beautiful setting, the atmosphere created by overcrowded seating, chaotic wait staff and far below quality food completely destroys any reputation Villa Pioppi might have had. We arrived on time for our reservation, and struggled to identify the exact entrance. People went in from the side and the front, with little to no signage. Drinks were ordered, which arrived promptly, and then food: 1 appetiser of pumpkin flan, 1 tortelloni and 1 costata di scottona. The flan was average, while the accompanying bacon was as salty as the Dead Sea, and far from crisp. The tortelloni were average, and while some dishes on the menu are marked as being frozen at origin and defrosted, the tortelloni weren't; yet a few were cold in some parts, giving suspicions of being frozen or refrigerated. Last but not least, the beef, a rib-eye of 500g, for which I had high hopes. The waiter asked my preference of how cooked, to which I requested medium, but when it arrived, it was nearly blue rare. I've never sent back anything but this I requested to be cooked more. The same steak returned with some sections more cooked and others still just as rare. This could be understood if the 500g was made of width, but this was not the case; it was barely 1cm thick. The entire experience was a letdown, being held up entirely by its location and view. My recommendation is to find another spot, Villa Pioppi is not worth your money.
Nicely overlooking the lake, this place could be a romantic one if it were not lacking style. The setting is more like a huge cantina for a large office building. FOOD. Lasagna Bolognese does not have tomato in it, Cutlet a la milanese is only half cooked. BEWARE. Prices on the menu card (both at the door and the table) are interestingly smaller than those on your bill! Not a lot though, yet a disappointing cheat. At payment - you must walk inside to make payment, which is again pathetic from such a restaurant - I presented their own 10%-off Card which I was given by the nearby hotel we stayed in. Cannot help thinking this is why prices suddenly went up there and then.... Even the 10% applied was not a full 10%. ALL IN ALL cheap-feeling environment with mediocre food, and a ripoff at the end. There are many significantly better restaurants in Sirmione, avoid this one.
First and foremost, we made a reservation for our table, yet the experience we encountered was far from satisfactory. The staff apologized for unexpected guests arriving, which is not our concern, and it’s clear they were short-staffed. We waited an unacceptable 1 hour and 20 minutes for our food. During that time, we asked three different waitresses for clear glasses of water, and only one glass was eventually brought to us. After this lengthy wait, we finally inquired about the food, which had yet to arrive. When we requested an additional bottle of wine, we were informed by one server that we needed to speak with the manager. When I approached the woman I assumed was the manager, she seemed confused about our order and incorrectly stated what had been served. We pointed out that we received our forks but hadn’t been served the food yet. Given the lengthy wait and the confusion, I kindly requested compensation due to the circumstances, noting that our appetizers and main courses arrived at the same time. She claimed she wasn’t a manager and promised to send someone to assist us. Eventually, the manager arrived but did not resolve the issues effectively. We ordered coffee, and once again, our order was mixed up—resulting in us receiving an unnecessary coffee that we had not ordered. I must emphasize that the level of organization was extremely poor. Apologies do not suffice in this situation. Although we were informed that the coffee charge would be removed from the bill, my request for a complimentary bottle of wine due to the significant wait time was denied. I also asked for an “amaro” at the end, which is simply inadequate as a gesture of goodwill. As patrons who had reserved a table, it was frustrating to see other diners being seated while we waited. The wait staff struggled to manage table turnover and didn’t inform us of the delays. Adding to our disappointment, we ordered bread without any olive oil, salt, or pepper—what kind of service is this? While we appreciated some aspects of the service, the overall experience and food quality did not meet our expectations. The restaurant clearly needs to improve its organization and management to prevent future issues like these.
