The place to go if you want a good breakfast! Not super quick because they obviously make everything to order. I had an 'everything' bagel with cream cheese and hubby had a sausage burrito (regular size). Bagel was super crunchy and loaded with cream cheese. But that burrito! It was huge and very thin crust. Loaded with freshly cooked ingredients. And if you ask for salsa they will give you a little cup to drizzle on. Good self serve regular coffee (but no decaf). They also have a good selection of fancy coffee but we just had the basic. Large menu for such a tiny place. All seating is outside. Seriously, just go there.
Huge portions, great menu options, tasty food, super friendly staff, fast service, great prices (esp. for downtown Santa Cruz), great coffee. Great location a few minutes walk from the pier with lots of outdoor seating Open at 6am, too. Amazing breakfast burritos!
Out of Towner here. Stayed across the street, was glad the cafe was in walking distance. The food and service here was amazing! The large burrito was massive and delicious. Food was decently priced as well. The place is cash only, they have an ATM on site for your convenience. There are also tables outside for eating as well.
The breakfast burritos are delicious here! Tons of options to choose from, large enough to feed any hungry human.
Such a cute little market with lots of dairy free and vegan/veggie options ! Full of healthy grab n go snacks and a great menu ! These small burritos are huge ! Soooo good 👌🏻
Wow. The service and the food. Ok so this place is a gluten free gem (gf). I had no batter gluten-free fish and chips. They also do gf shrimp I believe. Their fish tacos were the bomb and I don't like fish tacos. Most places are so insipid. These tacos looked flavored and had other items in the meat which made them so yummy. The fish meat was huge chunks. They carry Mexican coke, in the glass Coca Cola bottles so cane sugar rather than corn syrup and a nice selection of kombucha, guarana and other sofas including an Italian sofa bar. They also had shakes and grab squeezed grapefruit juice. They had a full espresso menu, and which espresso was very good and they had oat milk soy and almond milk. I had a blackberry oat milk which mocha. The staff were amazing, both the front counter and the cook, made sure to discuss ingredients due to my allergy. A stone throw from the beach it doesn't have a view but the outdoor picnic table seating was lovely drying the sunset falling over the round about. We grabbed dinner here after the biking to natural brushes as there is a bike rental shop right next to it. I wish I lived next to this cafe and convenience shop, I'd be here every day. Sorry for the bad pic of fish tacos, but you get the picture.
This is a great place to get breakfast before heading over to The Board Walk. They do breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have snacks and toiletries... just in case you forgot something. Cute out door dining.

Amazingly good food and decent prices. Huge burritos and all the staff is really nice. Bring your appetite! Location is great and easy access from the Wharf, Monterey Bay Discovery Center and the Dream Inn.
When visiting from out of town, I rely heavily on reviews when figuring out where to eat. This breakfast burrito was fantastic! It was also HUGE and I got the small! It was a quick walk from the Wharf, watch the sunrise and then grab breakfast. You won't be disappointed.
You haven't had a breakfast burrito until you have had one at this place. Fantastic! Great salsas! Amazing menu with incredible combinations of burritos! You cannot go wrong with this place!
Today we tried this place for the first time. We had a Barrel burrito and two Cali burrito. They where so good freshly made. I heard my eggs crack and sizzling on the pan smelled great. Burrito where hands down 5 stars great flavor down to the carne asada the sour cream fresh guacamole. So good... great customer service will recommend this place to everyone. A++++
Cash only, atm on site. Super delicious breakfast and very great location. My son said it’s the best breakfast sandwich he’s ever had! I had the nopales burrito which was excellent. My daughter had the mexi burrito and is obsessed. Thanks for filling our bellies!
Stopped here for a cup of coffee. Great folks. Coffee was great. The atmosphere was super nice. They take only cash, which was a huge plus for me. They have an atm if you dont carry cash, but for me, it was refreshing. Staff was super friendly, and I will most definitely be returning.

The Barrel breakfast burrito is to die for. I get the regular size and I end up eating the second half for lunch because it’s huge and such a great price. The staff is great and the store is always clean.
Very convenient cafe and market close to the pier. Would highly recommend making the walk up to grab some food if you’re not feeling like what the pier has to offer. Was nice to get a break from the crowds too. The breakfast I had was very decently portioned, especially the eggs, and was exactly what I wanted. Would definitely go again!
Good spot for a quick bite or coffee (hot or cold). They also have some snacks, but they are cash only (atm on-site)

Went 2 mornings jn a row, service was excellent. They were friendly and willing to accommodate all types of coffee or food requests. Açaí bowls were a bit more soupy than we typically get but the toppings and way they were made was good. Burrito is huge! I’d advise you stick with the small. Coffee was great good flavor of the beans came through in the Americano. I’d recommend stopping by if you like an early coffee and breakfast

Ordered a burrito here about two weeks ago and I’ll be honest the burritos was amazing. So good I was going to go back and order it again. Was pretty disappointed that the same burrito I paid $12.50 for two weeks ago is now $16.99. I understand inflation and pricing going up put that is quite the jump. Decided not to order because of the price increase.
I today I ate Chilaquiles at this restaurant, I order the least spicy of the 2 options. This food was not edible the chili was so HOT. I spoke to whoever answered the phone, they assured me it was the mildest option. And found it amusing, not funny to me. Beware the of the Chili. 🥵

Lousy service. I bought a few things at the store, only because I needed some change for the parking meter. When I asked for some of my change to be provided in quarters, the sales person claimed he did not have any. There was a tip jar sitting right in front of his face with about 200 quarters in it (see photo) so I asked if he could change the dollar bill be gave me with a few of those quarters - “no”, was the answer. I recommend you go someplace more worthy of your business.

This is another place that holds the gentrification of Santa Cruz true. Terrible eggs benedict and then made me go get cash because they don't take cards. In 2025 I had to go use a $4 ATM fee to go pay for a 16 dollar 2 egg breakfast. Any place that does cash only is laundering their money maybe they should be looking into that.
We were told cash only so we went to get cash to place our order. Of our 4 orders, 3 were incorrect. When we went back to ask for our correct orders the staff refused to provide the food items we paid for and also refused to give us a refund.

Probably the worst onion rings ever. A new record low. Thank you for that. 5 soggy onion looking things on a paper plate for 12 bucks. Not edible. Sorry no photo, threw in trash. 6 whole terrible "fries" accompany a $23 burger. Burger was edible, yet on the wrong style bun. One and done here!
