Our Valentine’s date couldn’t have been at a better place! First timers here and we were definitely not disappointed in the least! From the moment we walked in, the incredible huge back wall screen showing Valentines in motion, the amazing staff, and food was an incredible delight. Best of all, our server, Meilani was so knowledgeable and answered all of our curious questions so expertly. Perfect level of attention to my wife and I. She made my Valentine’s surprise dinner date with my wife an even more wonderful experience! Terri (I hope I spelled her name correctly), the owner, was also an amazing host to not just us, which she seemed to have paid special attention to us, but to everyone in the dining room. She was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Her suggestion to order the Caesar salad was a hit too. Never have I seen or enjoyed a Caesar salad as I did this one. As an executive leadership and business consultant, I loved everything, from the perspective of a consultant and as a customer! Great customer experience! Planning a special dinner for that special someone? This is a must-dine experience!!! Tell them Coach Jay sent you!

This is a really unique restaurant. We had dinner with some friends and decided to all share several different items which was perfect for our evening. We enjoyed the A5 hot rock, the Caesar salad salad, shiitake mushrooms, 417 Dragon roll, the lamb, tuna cigar, and the blueberry Sharlotte for dessert. Everything was really well presented, and the food had such amazing flavors. Things that we would never have tried before we tried this evening and it was amazing.

We eat here on repeat! Love the upscale vibe. Perfect for date night. Our order almost every time: Ceasar salad (one of the best we’ve ever had), Karaage (fried chicken thigh), and the Black Pink sushi roll (I add jalapeno slices). We mixed it up on Friday and tried the shishito peppers and sea bass. Both also delicious!

Probably the best restaurant experience I have ever had. I mean wow. I knew I was in for a treat. Our server (I’m so sorry, I forgot your name!) but you were so down to earth, informative and just an overall great dude. Thank you so much! Then again, all the workers/bussers/managers/chefs were at the TOP of their game. They were all generous and even if they didn’t operate near your table they still shared a generous smile. The ambiance was perfect. Not too dim, not too bright. Perfect lighting for a quaint and inspiring evening. The decor was comforting. NOW, the food! We started with two oysters with caviar. Some of the freshest, flavorful, mind-bending experiences. The perfect oysters. Next, we had Uni. Now, Uni may be the top reason we came here. I’ve been DYING to try it. And it of course was another mind altering experience. A flavor unlike anything I’d ever had. So fresh. So clean. So unique. Next we had the tuna cigars, which may have been our favorite dish of the evening. Served in a Smokey antiquated box, the flavor and texture was something I can only describe as heavenly. We then cleansed our pallets with Miso soup. (Incredible.) We also got the chefs selected Nigiri, all incredibly fresh and flavorful. Unlike any Nigiri I’d ever had. This is real fish. This is the real deal. And finally we finished with an A5 Wagyu Nigiri. Which, I’d never had. And it was the perfect send off for an incredible experience. It was… it is…. It’s… it… it was sensational.

Ariake is one of the best restaurants in MO! I would highly recommend checking this place out. The food is top notch, The service is always great and the atmosphere is very Inviting! We love the decor and The overall design of the restaurant. So far everything we have tried on the menu has been excellent. We will definitely be coming back!

We dined at Haruno 2/6 and Ariake 2/7. Both were Fantastic! Each had its Strong points. If you want a Top Class Sashimi experience and the A5 Wagyu that is just phenomenal go to Ariake the freshness and Quality is Outstanding. Understand that you pay for quality. We are from Hawaii and have missed having high quality fish like this. If you are looking for an Experience you will not Regret Ariake. If you are looking for more traditional Japanese staples likes Shrimp Tempura, Beef teriyaki Steak, great sushi/Sashimi Then Haruno's. We will go back to both! I ordered a lot of food thats why my price range is high and my husband had several drinks. Chaz the Bar Tender made our entire Experience great and the #1 reason why we will return again.

Amazing ... The flavor combinations!!! The caesar salad, surf & turf roll , avocado & cooking on the hot rock were some of our favorites. First time and the waitress was superb.. explained the menu and recommended a few things that were perfect! Will definitely be back.

I did not know Springfield, MO had such a nice restaurant for dates, special occasions, or small groups. The food was AMAZING and interesting. Lots of unique flavors. Great service. Chaz was great but so were all the employees. Favorites were lamb and also the tuna firecracker roll.

We went to Ariake Sushi for my friend’s birthday, and she was so happy with the surprise dinner! The food was absolutely delicious, and our server was super nice, positive, and made us laugh the whole time. The drinks were amazing - I especially loved the Paper Crane cocktail 🍹. My favorite roll was the 417 Dragon it was incredible! We all had such a great time and can’t wait to come back!

Hands down the best sushi, omakase and sake selection in the Midwest! Prices are high but it will be an unforgettable experience. The only omakase experience to compete with this place was a sushi restaurant I ate at in Miami. Sake selection beats anyone in the Midwest, even liquor stores. I got the Harmony and it was excellent for the money. The staff is very attentive and precise. If you have a liking for grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken nuggets, don't bother. This place is for the refined palate and those who don't cringe at unfamiliar ingredients as the chefs here pair flavors that make it an unforgettable experience! Hope I helped.

Our experience at Ariake was amazing, and the service was incredible from every single team member—from our server to the dish cleaner who walked by five times just to make sure we were done with our shishito peppers. The owner, a woman, was walking around the restaurant personally greeting everyone, offering to move guests if they looked uncomfortable or wanted a different seat, and even adjusting the temperature by just a couple degrees to make sure the space stayed comfortable. You can tell she is passionate about hospitality and runs her restaurant with intention and care. Food: Scallop Crudo (10/10): So refreshing. White Usuzukuri (7/10): Good, but I think it lacks acid in my personal opinion. Tuna Cigars (8/10): Fun experience—you have to get it. Really nice sensory. Shishito (7/10): Very yummy, great sauce. Could pass. Filet Steak (8/10): Amazingly tender, nothing compared to the nigiri though. Premium Nigiri Sampler (10/10): Amazing—better than Nobu in Las Vegas. Best sushi I have ever had. Matcha Crème Brûlée (8/10): Very good dessert, not amazing

Wow! Wow! Wow! We had the scallops and fried shrimp for started and amazing! I had the filet mignon medium rare and believe me, I have been to many places, even in Europe, best steak ever! Partner had the sashimi and sushi rolls were out of this world. This place deserves a Michelin star!!! Would definitely eat here again, would have every night haha! Server was very nice and explained the menu from the start to the dessert very well!

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Service was excellent. Drink recommendations were on point. My A5 was cold when it was originally brought out but they IMMEDIATELY took it back and replaced it with a freshly cooked one. Best sashimi I’ve ever had stateside. Took my kid for his 18th birthday and they made his dessert extra special. Worth every single penny. Will be going back very soon.

Good food that comes out fast. Server and staff were friendly and welcoming. Great value for the price. Try the "Shaggy Dog" roll You can get Boba tea for an additional $1.00

What a great experience! The food was amazing! The service was on point Kaleb was great! I had the A5 Arancini (on happy hr), Toro Trio and the Wagyu. I had to get a 2nd Wagyu because it was so delicious. I’ll be back again and would/will recommend this place to everyone. Thank you!

My first experience at Ariake was diving right into the Omakase experience! Hands down the best experience in Springfield. If you love Sashimi, Nigiri and having a top-rated sushi chef curate your meal, This experience is for you. Top quality ingredients, hand crafted wasabi and so much roe and caviar! Everyone involved in your Omakase experience is there for you and the service is of the highest of standards. Don’t forget the Sake pairing! It is worth it. Request a slow Sake pairing too! Chef Choi and Haley were such good stewards of Ariake too!

From start to finish, this was an unforgettable dining experience. The fresh nigiri and sashimi were some of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly cut, incredibly fresh, and paired with flavors that truly elevated each bite. The wagyu beef was next-level, melting in my mouth. The ambience strikes the perfect balance between modern and inviting, with stunning interior design and a stylish touch of house music that sets a vibrant, yet relaxed mood. The staff were so friendly and made the experience even better. Every detail, from presentation to pairing, was thoughtfully executed. I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Fantastic service(Gavin M) was amazing. Very informative and helpful with menu selection. He was on point with all his suggestions. My favorite was the SeaBass You can’t ask for a better place to eat and enjoy an ambiance. So much to choose from. You’ll have to come back to enjoy all the options. You can’t go wrong enjoying the surf and turf roll. The tuna cigar is a must The lobster noodle and Sea Bass is also a must have.

I have visited three times, but first time trying the Omakase….. wow, just wow. Hands down the best seafood, and sushi in Springfield. I’d even argue the best I have ever had, and that’s after living in Boston and numerous West Coast trips. From when you walk in, to when you leave, there is such a high level of detail. This is a prime example where food meets art, crafted and served with love. My only complaint is that my Omakase experience had to end. I’d live here if I could. Highest compliments to the chef and staff!

Excellent service. This is a perfect place to take your date for a guaranteed romantic experience. The atmosphere is one of the smartest I have seen. Brilliantly thought out to provide the best ambience. Levels of music and light are spot on. Thank you.

Enjoyed my birthday dinner here and it was a wonderful choice. Servers were very polite and went over the menu options and explained several different things as we had never been there before. Everything was delicious and fresh. The food comes out as it’s prepared and not all at once, which was nice. Servers were always clearing plates so the table was never cluttered. It was a very classy and elegant experience and I would definitely love to go back.

Have visited here about five times, two of those times we have had the omakase. I can honestly say this is my favorite place to enjoy with my wife. If you want to do omakase you need to call ahead and let them know. Perfect for a special date night if you like sushi, fish and that lovely A5 wagyu. We have never been disappointed. Dress seems to be business casual. Some people do bring older kids. Staff are awesome. Tables and everything are extremely clean. If you have any questions call the staff are super friendly. Also don't be intimidated by the menu the wait staff are happy to help and make suggestions. If you have a member of your party who is not into fish no worries. They have some of the best meat you will ever eat. Anyhow, drop by this place- it's my number one place to eat in SGF.

High quality ingredients and keen attention to detail I expect from a Japanese restaurant. After sampling our first dish I knew anything I ordered would be exceptional. The highlight for me was the Lobster Noodle, charred to perfection with a delicious smoky flavor!

Easily the best sushi I’ve had. I’ve eaten at Nobu and top omakase spots in Japan. Ariake delivers exceptional quality, flawless service, and a warm, modern atmosphere. This level of freshness and craftsmanship is rare anywhere, let alone in Missouri, and absolutely worth the price. If you love sushi, you need to come here, you really won’t regret it.

We decided to try a new restaurant, and it did not disappoint!! Our server was phenomenal, she was kind, excited about the food, had great recommendations, and helped to create a perfect dinner. The cocktails were unique, well crafted and fresh tasting. We did two sushi rolls which were delicious. Plus tried the Robata, which I hadn't heard of before and it was sooooo good. Then, we split a steak entree. I'm not typically a sauce girl on my steak, but the sauce was great!! We will definitely return. Oh and the atmosphere was beautiful!!

Very nice Japanese restaurant located right across from Parlor Doughnuts! (Our fav for keto doughnuts!) We came for lunch. I hoped the omakase might be available all day, but learned it was only at dinner, M-Th. I was disappointed, but I was not disappointed with what we had! We had Miso Soup, Scallop Crudo, Edamame, Ariake Chirashi (on salad rather than rice), Karaage Teishoku (edamame rather than rice), Shonchu and hot green tea. It was all pretty amazing! Presented well! Delicious and tasty! Great service! Plan to go back some evening for the omakase!

We had an incredible experience! I made a reservation weeks in advance for our anniversary, and on the day of, I called before opening in hopes of arranging a special surprise. I wanted to drop off a bouquet of flowers to have ready on our table. The woman I spoke with was incredibly helpful and even allowed me to choose our table for the evening. The food was outstanding—the seabass was absolutely perfect. We’ve decided to make this our go-to anniversary destination every year. Thank you for making our celebration so special!

If I could give this place 6/5 stars I would. We’ve been traveling and we have eaten all over the US. I never would have guessed that this gem would reside in the town of Springfield. We went there for lunch, the manager was helpful and knowledgeable. The wait staff were amazing and prompt. The food is absolutely incredible and great ambience. The nagiri and sashimi were so fresh and perfect. 10/10

Our sushi lunch at Ariake did not disappoint. We enjoyed Brussels sprouts, two rolls, and several nigiri. Our waitress, Lanae, offered helpful suggestions on crowd and personal favorites. We will return for the dinner menu when next passing through Springfield.

It's been awhile since I've been to such a stunning restaurant! The interiors and decor inside are immaculate, the sushi is delicious (and stunningly presented) and the service is excellent!

Extraordinary! Every time we're in Springfield, we make it a point to come here. We've been searching for really good sushi since we left Chicago and Ariake delivers! Amazing fish; itt's incredibly fresh and the texture is superb. Creativity without the saucy stuff (or cream cheese that shouldn't be ever be on quality sushi!). My son has had the filet. He's quite the beef connoisseur and he said it was the best steak he's ever had (was just the filet not the Wagyu). The cocktails are even special- the "Do You Yuzu" has huge bubble over it! The service is also outstanding every time. Very knowledgeable. Tell them what you like and let them guide you on the menu- drinks and food! They've never steered us wrong. I now even enjoy sake! The bonus is the beautiful upscale atmosphere. Large graphic screen as you enter for big a wow factor. Two rooms offer intimate tables and they have larger party rooms too. I can't say enough good things about Ariake. It is worth the price point. It is special in every way possible.

A coworker and I went here for lunch. It was my first experience at this place, and it was a great one! The waitress was fantastic, the atmosphere is really cool, and the food was delicious. I got the kimchi fried rice and it was so flavorful! There were several other things on the menu that sounded delicious, so I'm sure you can't go wrong, and I'll be going back to try more!

If you're reading reviews to decide if you wanna eat here or not. Do it. Easily one of the best places I've dined at. Nice to have a great option in Springfield. Atmosphere is wonderful will make the coldest heart feel a little romantic or not if that's not that you want. You can be cool instead. Food is fantastic for real and the staff had great energy. The place just has the perfect balance of upscale and gourmet. Not trying too hard it's just plain art.

I have eaten sushi in Hawaii and las vegas at the most phenomenal restaurants. This one is right there with them! Amazing cuisine and culinary skills. The sushi unbeatable and Notsumi is a wonderful waitress. What a great lunch to celebrate my birthday!!

I’m from St. Louis and was in town visiting a friend when I decided to stop into Ariake for the first time after hearing so many great recommendations. I’m thrilled to say it was a spectacular experience. I was greeted by the manager as soon as I walked in—she even stepped behind the bar to make my drinks and take the time to get to know me. I noticed her circulating throughout the restaurant, checking on tables and greeting many guests by first name, which spoke volumes about the atmosphere and hospitality. Aaron was my server and took excellent care of me. He was knowledgeable about the menu, made great recommendations, and made the experience even better. I will absolutely be back and can’t wait to return to try dinner.

My husband made reservations for us at Ariake Sushi & Robata for Valentine’s Day. The entire restaurant was decorated beautifully. Our server Lani was so professional and personable. Our dinner was so delicious and presented beautifully. I highly recommend Ariake Sushi and Robata for your next date!

Ariake never disappoints. It’s one of those local places that feels like it’s straight out of a big, glamorous city. The food, building, and atmosphere are all beautiful and luxurious, and the service is always top-notch. We’ve been here numerous times with small groups, and recently went for lunch with our entire real estate team of 20 people. Always good for lunch or dinner!

I look for the best sushi whenever I go to a new town. While Springfield is not new to me, Ariake was. What a high quality sushi restaurant. The fish was superb, the miso was probably the best I’ve had, and the service was outstanding. Next time it will be the Omakaze!!!!

My first time to this amazing establishment and from the moment we walked in, my taste buds were tantalized in delight. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor, and the presentation was just as beautiful as the food was delicious. Cody, our waiter, made the entire experience even better-attentive,friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were spot -on and added so much to our visit! Thanks Cody! We will definitely be back soon!

Ariake is one of the best restaurants in town. If not the best. Amazing, fresh fish. Excellent presentations. Friendly, but not overbearing service. The A5 Wagyu hot stone is so amazing and a fun experience. Drinks are all delicious... I like paper tiger especially.

K

Our server Dane was excellent. Decor was very nice. Menu was tapas style, small plates to share. They added little touches to set them apart, like lemon zest on the ebi sushi and their sauces were delicious. The hamachi melted in your mouth.

Food and Drinks: I had the Chirashi and the Miso soup with draft Asahi. I really like Asahi, and it tastes even better on draft. The Miso soup was good—nothing extravagant, but solid. The fish was amazing; the last time I had fish of this quality was in Düsseldorf, Germany, which is home to the largest Japanese community in Europe. Service: The staff were polite, perhaps even overly eager to serve. They asked almost every minute whether we needed anything or if the food was good. I’m not used to that level of attentiveness in Europe. Ambience: The design is beautiful, though the build quality doesn’t quite match the high level the place aspires to (see images). The men’s restroom lacks a functional toilet brush and a second toilet lid—so when flushing, water from the toilet gently sprays around as an aerosol.

N
Natalya Abubakirova

The atmosphere and design is great! I enjoy very much many details and modern clean space. But you have to be ready to wait a half an hour for your order. And it is unusual taste for many dishes. They do not have classic tastes of sushi. They do have Diet Coke but don’t have desserts without sugar. It is a whole list of menu that I didn’t try, maybe next time I would like to visit this place for date with my husband. Big privilege of this place is that they have separate room for small party, and there you can change room temperature and feel more private with friends.

E
Eric Roberts

Love the atmosphere. High end place. The sushi is just ok. Not the best I've had and didn't have a lot of flavor. They say their specialty is the sashimi but we didn't have any. For a few different rolls. Size was smaller than expected for the price. You are definitely paying for the scenery more than the food.

N
Nate Arevalo

We spent a total of like 140 bucks. The A5 wagu hot rock was so good the sashimi was good as well. Our server was amazing. What killed it for us was suki sake roll it was this crispy crab thing that was fried but it was topped with a dollop of raw salmon and roe. The combo of mushy and crunchy with a lack of clear flavor just made that dish disappointing. If you’re looking for clean flavors and good quality fish it’s really good. Sashimi and uni was amazing the otaro was the best thing I’ve had. Also we were given like a dirty glass that we didn’t notice till the very end and it had like things floating in the water. It was okay but in my opinion haruno was kinda better 🙂‍↕️ overall good experience wouldn’t go back unfortunately.

My family and I were initially shocked at how impressive the restaurant appeared to be on the menu and based on online reviews. We came at lunch and must have caught them on hopefully a “bad day” because it took forever to get seated with no host and they only seemed to have one server, Dayne. He was initially quite friendly, but after we asked some questions it was clear he didn’t know the menu which left us guessing at what the flavors may be for the dishes, or where they were from. The food we luckily ordered for appetizers were great, especially the the Scallop Crudo. He returned quite late after we finished our apps, and seemed to be intoxicated or something when he returned. My kids mentioned seeing the staff smoking multiple times through the doors. We didn’t see any other servers present or we would have asked for extra help. The food was great, but from a restaurant like this we expected a different level of service from the staff or management. If they have better staff at night, and can be quicker with service, the food is quite impressive. But I doubt we will be back

J
Josue Perfil los

My date and I dined in for dinner last week and had heard high praise from our friends. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, but the experience quickly turned rather disappointing. Dayne (?) our server was quite unprofessional for a date night setting and for a restaurant with a high price point, nor did he seem to know the Sake options or explain the nigiri or sashimi taste profiles much at all, leaving us quite dissatisfied with what we ordered. Not sure what was going on with our server or if he was new, but we will try again. We tried to express a bit of frustration with my date’s steak, too, but the head chef seemed not to care about recooking it. Overall, it felt like a waste of $200 but I hope she had a nice time.
