Avocado sushi!!!!! Delicious place to fill your stomach full. Prefer the food when it’s take out because they do too much when you dine in(my experience only). The food seems to taste better when they pack it in a bag and I pick it up.

Wandered in here for a late lunch today and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was fresh, delicious and aesthetically pleasing. Staff very attentive but not intrusive. The special roll I got (La-Vie) was to die for. The atmosphere is cozy, place is clean, nice art on the walls, spacious, just overall inviting. Will definitely be back!

Everything was exceptional. We had a variety of appetizers some with small flaws but nothing was bad: money bags were well flavored but the middles were a touch cold, calamari portion was very small and the soft shell crab was flawless. Bento box was huge, sushi was fresh and reasonably priced. Oreo donuts were just fried Oreo's with ice cream good but not what I was expecting. Mochi ice cream is a must have. Great place, cute decor, even the soap in the rest room smelled good. Really Enjoyed the 20% off for their grand opening special.

A nice sushi place, staff is professional and efficient. Menu is diverse and food is great. Always have a great meal here. The decor is nice and offers a nice sit down environment. Well worth either take out or sit down for sushi and more.

Nice place, the sushi boat is huge, can easily feed 2 to 3 people. The tuna tartare was fresh. The meat quality is high in this price range.

Very friendly, great food, and great interior design. They make great quality sushi and bring a fresh perspective to sushi on the island. Rolls are fairly priced and the entrees, as well. Some items are not so great (sesame chicken) and some items are (their sushi rolls). Note: this is a franchise that also has their restaurant in Arthur Kill (which is also great). I visited this place for the first time and my first impressions were amazing. Avocado sushi looks very modern, interior design bring comfort and relaxation, starting from nice, soft music and ending in great lighting and decorations. Waitresses are very polite and try to serve you well. We did order seafood soup, shumai, edamame, chicken teriyaki that came with salad and miso soup, and mochi ice-cream red bean flavor. All the food arrived fast, seafood soup was served in a very modern, geometrical bowl, it was very testy, even thought the sea food variety was kind of low compared to other places I went to. Miso and salad were great as well as edamame and shumai. I want to discuss chicken teriyaki and ice cream in more detail (actually this is the reason why I gave this place 3 STAR) - lets start with chicken teriyaki, I noticed that chicken there was not fresh and for the first time I saw the chicken masked with lots of garlic??? I did not pay attention to that and ate about three quarters of the dish - in about an hour I felt strong stomach pain. My wife did not wish to try it and she felt totally fine. Speaking about ice cream - it was frozen and tested as the old one that was forgotten in the freezer for long time. The service was good. The sashimi and sushi need more improvement. The cutting was poor. I did like the pink lady roll which had a hint of banana taste. I enjoyed the kani salad. However the rainbow roll was overwhelmed with mushy avocado and fish that's chewy.

I ordered at 10 PM when the place was quiet and pretty empty just before closing in an hour. The order was only 3 things but somehow turned out to be $40....and for what? The food really wasn't good. The vegtable and shrimp tempura needed salt, they had weird vegtables as well and the shrimp was small just mainly batter. The "Amazing Roll Special" was terrible and I would stay away from that at all costs. The pepper tuna was gross and not currently cleaned or something because it tasted like bleach somehow. Overall, very unsatisfied with such expensive items to turn out so disappointing.

I've been ordering from them occasionally over the year with no complaint, today is very disappointing. I ordered few different types of sushi rolls for delivery today. When I opened the box, I noticed there is a lot of extra sauce over the shrimp tempura rolls. After we started eating, my daughter mentioned to me "why is the avocado so dark" (she usually picks out her avocado). I started examining all the shrimp tempura roll pieces and noticed the avocado is rotten in about half of all the pieces. What makes me more upset is when I called the restaurant to make a complaint, the cashier was trying to cover things up by telling me that all their avocados are fresh. I told them I'm not trying to start trouble; I would like for the sushi chief to know that it's not acceptable to put bad avocados in the sushi and send them to your customer when you can clearly see that they are rotten. It's also not acceptable trying to hide the bad avocados by covering the sushi with extra dark sauce...Please don’t tell me you didn’t see it when you cut open the avocado…you didn’t see it when you cut the avocado into slices?...Then you managed not to see it when you place it on the roll?? The cashier said she would give me store credit for the shrimp tempura rolls I ordered…Honestly, I don’t know when I’ll be ready to order from this restaurant again. I don’t know what other sneaky things they do…
