I'm giving Omakase Ichi 5 Stars for being the best Omakase option in Staten Island. For the price the food quality and taste is unbeatable. There are rooms for improvements: 1. the dining pace is a bit fast, slow down a bit would be nice 2. more hot sake option, there is only 1 at this point and it is warmed up by microwaving it. There are hot sake dispensers that can be used instead of microwaving. Also the hot sake gets cold fast, need something better to maintain the temp. 3. my personal preference, i prefer my cold sake in a sake bamboo cup or some other sake cup. Cold sake is in a wine glass and it got warm fast. I look forward to dine here again when they have a new menu. I prefer a seasonal menu. I understand some patrons wants uni and wagyu. Seasonal is fresher and more sustainable.

Fabulous tasting menu in a calm space. Fresh quality ingredients in a beautiful presentation. Absolutely delicious and fairly priced. Would love to return. Make reservations!!! Favorites - lovely smooth broth is a wild vessel with scallop surprise. Feathery crab in a crispy tart vessel. Pippet to flavor the freshest taste from the sea

Sushi was delicious and fresh. Chefs and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The vibe and decor in the restaurant was cozy. Would definitely come here again.

What a fun & unique experience. Very intimate, curious, and eager to taste. The chefs were beautifully in sync, like a ballet. The food was fresh & well presented as separate art pieces. Chefs were also endearing, clever & easy to converse with. Only issue was that my friend and i agreed some of the courses looked/tasted very similar but beautiful, nonetheless. The female hostess was so nice & knowledgeable as well, she was so cool engaging with us too without asking. Shows just how much they appreciate the quality & diners of this experience. Loved every minute!

Best Omakase experience ever! Quality of the fish is super fresh, everything was prepared to excellence by the Chefs! It was nice to meet Annie, she is so fun and sweet! Glad we discovered this gem omakase in Staten Island!

I have never experienced Omakase style sushi experience before. Where you are served 1 piece at a time of the chef's determination based on what fresh fish is available. Although I thought it was a little pricey, it was worth every penny. Not something I could do often, but great for special occassion! It was an amazing experience and the chef tells you what fish and ingredients are with each offering. They also do a wine pairing that is decided by lead server as she created the pairings herself. Those near me that had it seemed very pleased. Seeing the skills of the chefs preparing each offering is part of the overall experience. I enjoyed seeing how delicate and skilled the work is and the attention to detail taken to make each presentation a work of art. Kept camera busy! A must try!!

If you are a fan of Sushi or Omakase this place is a MUST to go to. This is one of Staten Island's best kept secrets. Reservations are necessary and I would recommend showing up 10-15 minutes prior.

as someone who very frequently drives to Manhattan for Sushi, this is one of the best experiences we have had in a long time on our very own island. this restaurant is a game changer for Staten Island and the sushi world. The experience and quality of food was unmatched. Annie did an excellent job hosting and explaining the paired drink flight as expected, the Sushi was absolutely the star of the show. I cannot wait to go back! attached are pictures of our 16 courses, with an added hand roll

Amazing experience, especially for Staten Island! The chefs were amazing and the food quality was top notch. The small intimate atmosphere of the restaurant made things all the more special. Definitely worth the visit for a special occasion as it was on the pricy side; however, you do get what you pay for in terms of quality.

The place is very welcoming. Every bite of food I had was amazing. I told them at the very beginning I don’t eat onion or scallion and 45 min later they remembered to not put scallion in my soup only which was very nice. The Earl Gray panna cotta was an incredible finish to a great meal. This is a fantastic experience.

The staff made my husband’s 40th birthday so special, intimate, delicious, and novel! They were also so accommodating and nice to our 1.5 year old - who ate the kid’s meal and could not resist the sushi! We had an amazing experience overall and highly recommend this culinary experience!

This place is truly a hidden gem on Staten Island! I visited on my birthday, and the staff made it special with a handwritten card at my seat. The food was incredible, with 70% of ingredients imported directly from Japan. The entire team was welcoming and friendly, and the service was outstanding. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food and atmosphere.

Wow, I cannot give enough praise to this establishment. Starting with the very first impressions, I was blown away! Omakase is already a very niche experience for Staten Island. Pair it with the speakeasy feel that boasts eclectic, modern Japanese atmosphere and it gives you an experience that takes you outside of your home city. The selection of cocktails and sake was great and the staff is very knowledgeable in regard to recommendations/pairings. The chef is an absolute genius! The 17 course menu was top tier. About 80% of the ingredients come from Japan, so everything is fresh and beautifully hand crafted by chef. We will be back!

Exceptional service. The food was amazing. Each course is different from one another and the flavors of the fish are ones that you’ll remember. Everything was like butter. Fantastic time

My husband and I visited Omakase Ichi a few weekends ago to celebrate his birthday, and every aspect of the evening was absolutely perfect. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The highlight of our evening was the incredible 17-course omakase menu. The fish was incredibly fresh and buttery, and the attention to detail in the plating was extraordinary. Each dish was thoughtfully presented on unique, hand-selected serving dishes, adorned with colorful flowers and garnishes that added an artistic touch. There wasn't a single course that didn't delight our taste buds, but a few notable favorites were the Monkfish liver, the crunchy tuna tartar, and the seared Wagyu topped with the creamiest uni I've ever tasted. Each bite was a flavor explosion, leaving us eager for the next course. What truly set the experience apart was the highly personal touch. The chef's dedication to perfection was evident in every dish, and the special treatment for my husband's birthday made the evening even more memorable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience with extraordinary food and impeccable service, I highly recommend Omakase Ichi. It's a culinary adventure you won't want to miss!

There is no need to travel to Brooklyn or Manhattan if I craved for sushi no more !! I love how the place is designed very modern colored but yet also has the traditional sushi bar set up. Reservations are needed because they do a whole sushi bar presentation, so everyone must arrive at the same time. Sushi was great, fresh, and yummy. My favorite is uni and the wauyu piece. The service is exceptional. You'll feel welcome once you walk in. Waitress Annie definitely knows their drink menu well on how to pair with the sushi. Me and my girls enjoy it so much here! Will definitely come back for more!

I really liked the food and the presentation. Sushi was very fresh, and they used a lot of flavors and textures. The soup was amazing. Of course, this is quite pricey ($100 per person) but perfect for special occasions. You have to make reservations ahead of time for a specific dinner time (4, 6, 8pm).

Echoing the reviews so far, this is a first rate experience for anyone who wants to try an affordable Omakase on SI. Yes, for Omakase $100-115 (cant really recall exact amount) it is affordable. Its an experience unlike anything else on the island. 16 playful, vibrant and mostly superb courses utilizing expensive ingredients but mostly letting the main ingredients shine. Went last night with 2 other couples. What an amazing experience from the immaculate service to the beautiful presentations to the mind blowing food. Their fish and wagu beef is flown in from Japan. We were treated to 16 amazing courses. We cannot wait to go back. Foodie paradise! So happy we have this gem in Staten Island.

Omakase Ichi offers a very solid omakase experience with high-quality ingredients and thoughtful presentation. The fish was fresh and well-prepared, and several courses really stood out for both flavor and balance. Service was excellent — attentive, knowledgeable, and paced the meal well without making it feel rushed. Staff were happy to explain each course, which added to the experience. The atmosphere is more simple and low-key than upscale, but still comfortable enough to enjoy the meal. Overall, a strong choice for omakase with great service and quality sushi.
