Pier 76 is praised for its excellent thin crust pizza, especially the Margherita and Sicilian. Many reviewers highlight the high-quality ingredients and perfect crust. The vodka sauce pizza is also a standout. Some found other dishes disappointing.

One of my favorite places in Staten Island, and it happens to have some of the top 10, top 25 pizza ratings in nyc. They're part of Joe & Pat's (SI & Manhattan), Rubirosa (Manhattan), Ciro's fame. And it's one of very few restaurants off the ferry, 2 blocks from the Outlets and St. George Theater. It's an old-school Tiffany lamp, awesome Marshall speaker red-checkered table cloth place. The prices are incredible, esp when there are so few restaurants in the area, and the to-go lunch specials are the best. I'll put a pic of that menu since they're not on the website. :)
Incredible pizza. The vodka sauce is something to behold and praise. OMG what a gem. Tim, the bar man made me feel very welcome, but did I mention the pizza?? It’s worth the trip. Hop on the state island ferry from Manhattan, walk for 5 mins and you are there. Do it. Order the vodka sauce, will change your life. Looking forward to the next time I’m in NYC and will 100% return.
Simply outstanding all around. Pizza was out of control good - we got a traditional thin crust pie, as well as a slice of Sicilian style to try. Both were perfect, the entire time we were eating we continued to comment about how good it was. Service was good, friendly, no complaints at all. A gentleman who I am assuming is the owner came around and chatted with us, gave us a bit of history about the restaurant and the family recipe, super nice guy. This place was well worth the visit and absolutely worth the review hype. If I am ever anywhere even close to this pizza joint again, I’ll be back!
Congratulations on an excellent pizza experience! The balance between the rich flavor of the cheese and the perfectly crisp, well-proportioned dough was truly impressive. The Margherita pizza, in particular, stood out—topped with high-quality basil that added a fresh, vibrant note and brought all the flavors together beautifully. While the pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and roasted peppers was flavorful, the generous amount of toppings slightly overpowered the base, making it harder to fully appreciate the dough and cheese. That said, the overall quality and flavor were still very good. Excellent service. The person who assisted us was incredibly kind, friendly, and attentive at all times. A wonderful experience, well done!
We found this pizza restaurant online and decided to make a trip on the free ferry from Manhattan. The ferry offered great views on the way and the restaurant was just what we were looking for. We might not have chosen it from the appearance outside but inside it was great. The other guests were friendly, the waiter helped us understand the menu and the pizza was really good. The pale ale was good too.
Absolutely fabulous!! We are tourists from the UK and WOW!!! These guys have certainly set the tone for the expectations for food/service. Staten island has been super welcoming and the food and service in this place has the best Italian food we've ever eaten(from a European, this is incredibly rare). The authenticity, mannerisms, attitude and welcoming manner screams Italy. Absolutely blown away. They have exceeded every expectation and more! Couldn't recommend this place enough, id even suggest leaving NYC to visit Staten Island just for the pizza. Perfection
I visited this Italian restaurant during a quick round trip with the Staten Island Ferry, and it was a fantastic find! Some friendly police officers at the ferry terminal recommended this place, and I’m so glad I followed their advice. The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The mac and cheese here is hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly creamy and full of flavor. The restaurant is also very clean, and the overall vibe is warm and inviting. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed lunch. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Staten Island!
Holy pizza batman! Sicilian pizza at it's best. We ordered a couple of pints, bartender poured pitchers...all good. No problem with extra beer. Ordered the calamari and a 14in sicilian pepperoni pizza. Calamari came out piping hot. He said the calamari just came from the fish market. You could taste the freshness and it was super tender. Pizza was top 5 of my all time faves. I eat a lot of different pizza and am very picky. This place had a great crust, tasty sauce, and a great chew to the pie. I'd fly to NY just to eat this pizza!
The perfect rating is a must simply because of the marriage between price point and quality. The regular cheese pie at Pier 76 is top notch taste and Monday through Thursday there’s a $10 pie special ($10.99 with tax). The thin crust, the cheese, and the sauce all high-grade. It’s an unbelievable deal, the $10 special, and that’s what I always get and that’s why I’m giving 5 stars. There’s two other pizza places on Staten Island that really impressed me: one, Paulie’s on Bay St, is out of business. The other one, the well known Joe & Pat’s, is very good but rates slightly lower than P76. P76 has better location too, right across from ferry. And J&P weekday special is $2 more. And last but not least—the sauce—sauce, I feel, gets overlooked when it comes to pizza, but that’s what really separates ok pizza from great pizza. P76 pie has good sauce! I’ve also tried the calamari once and I would get it again; I enjoyed it, however, the calamari costs more than a pie and I pretty much plan to keep spending $10.99 for a great pizza as long as I can!
This was our first time here. It is very easy to get to and convenient to shopping, transportation, and things to do. We did have a hard time finding parking but it’s NYC. We were greeted by very pleasant staff and seated for lunch right a way. Our beer was good and the pizza was outstanding. I don’t usually like Sicilian pizza because it can easily burn but it was delicious. They also played great music from the 70s and 80s
As part of my five-borough pizza challenge, I made my way to Pier 76 in Staten Island, eager to experience what many had praised as some of the city’s finest pizza. Located just a stone’s throw from the Staten Island Ferry, the restaurant boasts a warm and intimate atmosphere, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists. The staff, though clearly busy with the influx of pizza challenge participants, remained friendly and attentive, which I appreciated. I ordered a slice, anticipating the thin-crust delight that Pier 76 is known for. Visually, the pizza was appealing, with a generous layer of cheese and a crisp crust. However, the taste left much to be desired. The cheese was overly stringy and chewy, detracting from the overall flavor. The sauce was average at best, lacking the depth and zest found in some of the city’s other renowned pizzerias. While I generally appreciate thin crusts, this one was overly thin and excessively crispy, reminiscent of cardboard, which was quite disappointing. Reflecting on my visit, while the pizza did not meet my expectations, the friendly service was a redeeming aspect. Given the distance from the City, I don’t anticipate returning in the future.
I visited on a weekend for dinner. The atmosphere was quiet, clean and the bartender was polite. I ordered a chicken Alfredo pasta, the flavor was okay, the Parmesan cheese elevated the taste from a 5/10 to a 7/10. I also ordered a calzone with added meat, the calzone was hard, burnt and the meat was tasteless. I swapped it for a salad, the salad was much better than the calzone. Once my order was finalized, I was still charged for the calzone I returned. I chose not to make a big deal about but I will not be back as a customer.
My partner and I came here for our anniversary and ordered a few dishes but they weren't tasty or fresh, overall. The cool thing was that Pier 76 has heart-shaped pizza and it fit our occasion (we're the cheesy types). Anyway, the pizza was too greasy, and the red sauce was plain. The pepperoni was overly salty and hard to swallow. We also ordered calamari & salmon with broccoli. The salmon was SO unseasoned and plain. When it arrived on our table, we looked at each other like "?? why is it pale ??" Lmaoo. It was like someone just pan-seared it and didn't bother to add not even a morsel of salt. Calamari was ok. It was a disappointing experience. I had been there twice before and ate the clams and pasta, which were tasty and fresh. I was hoping for that caliber of experience since I suggested this place for a special occasion. I can deal with amazing food and mediocre service. It cancels out, and you could ignore the bad, right? But a restaurant can't have mediocre food and standoffish service. The server who also greeted us did not have a friendly or welcoming vibe. While we were ordering and stuff, he also seemed uninterested. Dude had dead eyes and was happily on his phone while we tried to get his attention for some extra napkins and for the check. He dawdled to us and back and did the absolute bare minimum in service. My partner is generous, so he tipped, but maybe the establishment needs to pay better attention to restaurant morale or customer service training. Approach this place with caution; maybe avoid seafood altogether. Wish it was a success, but was let down, and I won't be returning.
My friends and I came here last night for dinner. Our experience left us never wanting to come here again. The one bartender was also the waiter. We felt badly he had to wait tables on his own and we can accept he did his best and he was very nice. The main issue with this place was the kitchen. They took an hour to send out one friend’s avocado burger when our party was done eating even though he put in his order earlier than all of us. He ended up feeling sick to his stomach when he got home. Another friend ordered a cauliflower crust pizza and she never received her food. She ended up canceling her pizza order because of how long she was made to wait and still not receive her food. She has a health issue that requires her to be gluten free and we chose this place initially because of the gluten free offerings…that was not reflected in our experience. The only thing she could eat was the fries! She left hungry and having to eat at home. A third friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli and noticed the sauce tasted funny/kinda sour. She is now suffering with food poisoning when she got home and into today. The waiter gave a 20% discount as a refund for the cauliflower pizza and for the wait on the burger but that isn’t enough of a recompense given two people getting food poisoning. I will be pursuing a card chargeback for the ravioli since the friend who ordered it got violently ill.
