Amy and her team are by far the best sushi restaurant that I have ever seen on Staten Island. The freshest, best tasting food when it comes to sushi. Super friendly and welcoming place. Thank you!!!
Best sushi on the island!
This is always a great place to go if you want good quality sushi. The only issue I've had is that it's hard to get the attention of staff members. They seem to avoid eye contact. Otherwise, this is a great location.
Very fresh sushi and cooked food. The rock shrimp is a bit pricey for what they give you and presented but the kids love it. Service is better than most Asian places. Expect to spend about $100 for a family of 4.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had an excellent experience at Sapporo! Fiona, our server, was absolutely fantastic, friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Amy, the owner, came over to welcome us personally, which was such a nice touch and made the visit feel really special. I had the beef bento teriyaki combo with soup, which came with a California roll, and also ordered a spicy tuna roll on the side. Everything was fresh, fast, and absolutely delicious. The place was spotless, and the service couldn’t have been better. Also A+ on the mango apple tea. Ni hao from the Nick’s in Bayonne! We will be back.
The sushi is great and they have fast service but don’t get the spicy tuna salad. It’s a basic salad with a plop of ground tuna on top. Nothing special about it and it does not taste good
Sushi was great. Fresh. The habachi chicken fried rice was decent (not sure if I would order it again) but I’m definitely a fan of the rolls. Service was great as well; staff was friendly and kept checking in with us. Definitely recommend that and will come back! Rolls are also affordable as well!
Great food, but high prices, and smaller pieces of sashimi now, and smaller portions of their other dishes....
this place has been hit or miss for the last few years and very inconsistent. today we got only that was clearly not so she me or sushi grade it was brown and color and smelled. I called them to try to get the $12 back for the two pieces and they said it was so fresh it was still alive. that being the case just like other Staten Island Sushi joints if you don't stick with the tuna or salmon you won't be disappointed. I grew up eating only and have even harvested myself so when they want to play experts, sorry no dice.
The food is delicious, but the staff has treated us very poorly every time I go with my family, and I really think it's because we're Latino, since they have a different attitude with everyone else. I also had no idea that the tip was 100% mandatory. Last time I left half the tip, and the waitress chased me because I was $3 short on the tip.
I order a sushi tray and then I got a different order. I called the restaurant again and the woman that worked there she speak with a bad way and she was saying this is not our fault and this is her fault that she gave me a wrong order and I throw it in the garbage the delivery in this restaurant so rude and the people that talking in the phone really bad
I ordered the lunch special 3 roll for $9.95 over the phone, took me about an hour to get there because I was stuck with a customer at work at was heading off to my lunch break. I drive 15 minutes just to pick up my order to find out they don't even have my order. I gave them my phone number, and they tried to give me someone else's order, I told them numerous times that's not my name, not my phone number and not my order. I gave the lady my order literally 3 times, but she still didn't understand. I then finally had enough, and I grabbed my phone to call the number that I called to place the order. The lady at the front picked it up so I knew I wasn't bugging and that i was at the right place. She stated she must of gave my order to the wrong person. But I'm like how it literally says the phone number, name and order on the ticket that is stapled to the order. I only know this because there were 2 orders sitting at the front waiting to be picked up. She said she would make it over but i already wasted my lunch going there, so I'm not going wait another 15-20 minutes for the to make the food so I can go back to work even later then I'm supposed to. I ended up not eating lunch that day. Horrible experience, definitely not going to come back to this place anymore. There service must be terrible all around because when I got there it was 2:30pm and no one inside the restaurant. Probably a sign to never go back to this place.
We been going here for a while being it’s close. We ordered takeout and my daughters hibachi chicken had a straight short black hair imbedded in the mushroom. And the food was so gross. I’m turned off and won’t return .
Usually order delivery from this place for years. I think it was last time I have ordered from them yesterday. Price went up, that’s understandable nothing gets cheaper this days but quality went down dramatically . Kids said we can’t eat it…
Delivery driver is so rude. Last time I ordered from here he yelled at me for not tipping more (I gave $3 on a $13 order). I decided to give them another chance but once again bad service because he ignored the instructions on the receipt and shot me the dirtiest look at the door. Food is good though, which is a shame that the delivery service is like this.
I ordered the sushi lunch and it was a complete disappointment. The fish smelled so bad I gagged and had to throw it out, it was clearly not fresh. I also asked for soup and got a salad instead. Overall, I wasted $18 on something I couldn’t even eat.
I love this place, food is always fresh and tastes great. However, I give 1 star because already twice I’ve been chased down to leave a bigger tip. Prior time I was at the place with my husband and mother-in-law, we left a tip and waitress threw the check presenter back at the table and said we didn’t tip enough. This time waitress chased me as I was leaving to get a tip. Honestly, I feel horrible because there is no tip culture in Europe. Why would I leave a tip if I already paid for my food plus tax? Teach your waitresses some manners, good food bad service.
