Let me say simply ~ though I write this years since I was last at Yummy Machi, I HAD to write this review NOW because I miss the great food and all those I got to know there over the years I lived and worked in SI! Yummy Machi uses fresh fish that looks and tastes wonderful - you can even watch them make it while you wait! The bubble tea bursting bubbles are fun and their flavor selection is pretty awesome! Though this is not a traditional sit down and be served Japanese sushi restaurant, if it is all I remember it to be, EAT HERE! you will consider yourself lucky to be able to go, order and enjoy fresh delicious sushi, sashimi and other delectable Japanese cuisine - and at a GREAT price! No matter where I've lived/worked since then, NO Japanese restaurant food (or service!) compares to that of YM! Right now, I am eating at another Japanese sushi restaurant in another city, in another state... and all I can think of is how I wish I could be back eating at Yummy Machi!

Amazing food. Amazing service. Good prices. I hoped that it would be ok as I was walking to the closest place that looked good and boy was I surprised. Had three sushi rolls and they are right up there with some of the best I’ve had. Ratios were spot on! I hope to be back next time I’m on Staten Island.

Chicken teriyaki with their brown rice lunch special, and dumplings, is my go to.It comes with 3 California rolls, and salad. It's always consistently fresh, and tasty. They've now easily replaced another restaurant, who shall remain nameless as my go to Japanese spot, in this area.

They volcano sushi is freaking amazing I eat here at least once a week and sometimes 3 times a week. I would definitely recommend this place to everybody. And their customer service is on point...

Greatest f***ing Japanese restaurant on the isalnd. The food is great. Sushi is suburb. And the staff are the kindest motherf****ers I have ever f***ing met man. The lemonade is on the money, shrimp tempura is a f***ing god send. It's just a place you want to go to. P.S their prices are super reasonable. Like borderline f***ing cheap.

The bubble tea and sushi is very good, super polite and sweet workers. My order was 15.75, and i only had 14$ and they let me buy it still. super good and nice!!

For this neighborhood this food is excellent. There is not any better deal. I costantly get the chicken or beef Bento Box. Usually very fast too - at lunch time. Dinner - there could be a line of people waiting for food.

I ordered take out from here last night and the food arrived on time and still hot. It was so tasty I had to visit the restaurant myself the very next day to order again. Its the best I've had on the island!

I truly don’t understand why this place got closed down , they had 10/10 customer service , and had great food there was never no complains. I genuinely want the number of the owners & want to contact them & would buy food from there homes . They were my favorite sushi spot and has the best boba I ever had .

MUCH better than Teriyaki one. Pricing is similar but the food taste so much better They only have seating for 6 people so be wary of that. More of a takeout spot than sit down. Regardless it is a good spot with great lunch specials

Been here 3 times so far I am vegetarian but I love their rolls I got the special deal 3 for 13.95 amazing rolls tastes absolutely amazing. The lady in the front is very sweet and friendly. My go to place for sushi in staten island best for takeout as it is a small place. I also got miso soup has no fish broth. So far I tried the avocado cucumber, sweet potato, tofu, pumpkin roll all excellent.

Let me keep this short & sweet... one of the best Japanese takeout around, I say this after a year + of visiting weekly. Prices are UNBEATABLE!!!! Staff is FRIENDLY, including my friend Susan! She always looks out for me and offers free drinks Nowhere else can beat it for the quality of food you get. Great staff, great prices and incredible food. I tried the Godzilla roll, it was delicious: slices are quite big even though they are only 5 slices. I also tried the mango smoothie, it was amazing. The overall price was fine but just counting slices it was pricey, but the roll I asked was kind of "premium" because there are more affordable options in this place. Customer service was nice too, I recommend this place.

One of the absolutely best restaurants on Staten Island. What first brought me to Yummy Machi was their bubble tea. This is for sure 100% the best bubble tea you’re going to get in all of NYC. I’ve tried so many bubble teas all over and nothing compares to this one. For the food, everything is so so good. I love the teriyaki chicken meal and the teriyaki chicken roll. The miso and the salad are also very yummy! The service is also A1, just plain fantastic, they are the nicest people ever. Don’t hesitate, this place is amazing and they make me incredibly happy

The staff is so friendly. It's a family run business and everyone in there is really sweet including the little kids who hang with their parents. The food is really good for their prices, and they have great bubble tea. Always had pork dumplings, had chicken dumplings for the first time and I'm craving them already !

Very nice staff! I talked with the lady who co-owns the place and she's super friendly. Asked me about my life, offered to do extra stuff to make my meal better, offered a free lemonade. Really appreciated that. I was frustrated with the long wait time. As I waited they served several other people and didn't even take my drink order until the end. It felt disjointed, and it felt like a waste of my time for me to stand there for five plus minutes. I was literally reading the news because they were doing so much else. The food is good. I got vegetable teriyaki and latte bubble tea. I enjoyed the rice, although I wished they had a better variety of vegetables (like more carrots). The bubble tea was crazy good, and wasn't overwhelmingly sweet. The friendly owner makes it an overall win.

The staff are very friendly. I personally have not tried everything on the menu yet, but my favorite is their chicken teriyaki. The mango bubble tea tastes sweet and so far is the best flavor in my opinion. I can also vouch for the peach, banana and taro bubble tea being good. The standard milk tea was very lackluster however. Decent place to eat from with reasonable prices. May update this review after trying more of the menu.

Brutally honest owner overwhelmed by the overhead leads you into his underdog sushi den. One trial will make this your resting den.. great sushi in ever so growing Monopoly of Unrealisticly expansive Sushi Palaces...

This small eatery has good sushi, and chicken dishes. Chicken teriyaki wraps are so good, portable, and inexpensive. My friend drives 20 minutes to get their Bubble tea.

Generally the food here is solid. This isn't top grade Japanese restaurant quality food but more so like Mall food where it's fast delicious filling and highly affordable. There are so many options and for such a small place to produce so many different things it's excellent. Again for a fast food type of meal this is highly recommended but if you're looking for high end Japanese food prepare to spend much more money and go elsewhere.

Fresh sushi. Clean space!! I like coming here. Great prices, the food is good. They don't really do anything special but it's always very fresh and clean. It's perfect sushi for on the go or you can eat here downside is only 3 tables.

Came here hungry and got a chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura. Shrimp tempura was a bit soggy and the teriyaki was basically like every other teriyaki I’ve ever had. Google considers 3 stars as “Its OK” and that describes this experience pretty accurate.

Food was average, I ordered the teriyaki chicken and a taro bubble tea. I wouldn't eat there again, but I would definitely come back for the milk tea's.

The food is good, but the delivery driver (female) is extremely nasty and refuses to get out of her car and come to the door. That is your job. I could understand if she felt unsafe but she’s delivering in low crime areas.

I love bubble tea & only reason I visit this place because of that lol. I can't eat their yummy food because it's not halal . Is very conveniently located near my area. My mom was saying she always seen people eating something black from a drink lol, what's that ! So I took her the other day so she can try some . She has a very particular taste when comes to food. I played safe & got her a coconut bubble tea lol, nothing fancy ! Thank God she liked it. So if she likes it then I can confirm that it was good . And I got coffee flavored one . Customer service could be better, store isn't that clean. They still have those plastic things in-front & I feel little suffocated. But I understand that they just wanna stay safe & there is nothing wrong in that .

I had the Banana Bubble drink and it was so so. The taste was very artificial....and the bubbles also were not from a good quality.

This is not a restaurant , it's a fast food place . sushi was ok , not more , Spicy mayo was all over it (instead of on the side) . small dishes. looked clean . fried dishes had heavy souse , so not a delicate food .

The Japanese dishes is delicious and the sushi is prepared right on the spot, only thing that they serve way to much rice, The most important things is The teriyaki Chicken and Vegetables, and that they don’t serve much. It’s really disappointed because I pay my money and for them to only give me rice that can serve 2-5 people, it’s absurd. I always complain about it and they say I will let the chef know, but it’s not the chef, it’s the owners telling the chef to serve that way. Level up Yummy machi!!

I can't believe how horrible the food was. I ordered 3 teriyaki dishes with fried rice.. The rice was overdone and was just white rice with soy sauce. Nothing about this dish was teriyaki. The meat was dry and too salty, hardly any vegetables and most was rice with little meat. Never again! Don't waste your money.

They advertise they close at 9:30 yet the teriyaki closes at 9. False advertising I got there on Sunday at 9:02pm to order food the person told me kitchen is closed. When I stated your sign closes at 9:30 I was told no.
