Mezcal margaritas, grilled nopales, and grilled mushroom specials were delicious. Guac and chips and salsas were perfect too. Very authentic and so friendly. Love this place. So happy it’s there. I’ll be back soon!
Absolutely *loved* Upstate Taco. The three of us had 10 tacos (chicken, steak, pork) a huge chicken Quesaburro, Equites, and agua frescas. We loved it all. Great portion sizes, and came out to about $28 dollars per person before tip. I highly disagree with other review stating that the portion sizes didn’t match the prices. We were stuffed and so happy. We’ll be back with friends. Welcome, guys! You’re an awesome addition to the area. Wishing you all the success. ⭐️
Absolutely, hands down the best authentic tacos in the region. Super cool folks run it. Super cool folks go there. You should go there...but only if you're cool.
Authentic Mexican food that is worth driving for. Chef/Owner always cheerful and staff is just wonderful! Love this place!
I literally had one of the best fish tacos in my life....in upstate NY, in the dead of January. This place is so truly special. The service is wonderful, fast, and friendly, and the food is fresh and so very delicious.
Great food and atmosphere, it's a must stop every time I'm in Stone Ridge.
Love this place... fun (and good) tex mex, and a variety of tex mex cocktails. It's the closest I'll get to Austin in upstate NY. The staff is always very friendly, and the vibe here is very chill. 5 starts.
Amazing, Amazing food! Deserves 10 stars! The food was unbelievable - authentic flavors and great prices. The Sopa de Calabaza was the best butternut squash soup I ever had. We also had the Taco de Gobernador (shrimp), Taco de Costilla (baby back pork rib), Taco de Carne Asada (steak), Taco de Pollo (chicken), Fish Taco, side order of Rice & Beans and the best Flan ever! Everything was delicious!!
Not hyperbole, some of the best Mexican food of my life and arguably my favorite meal of this year. Just a relaxing, warm and inviting spot, incredible food and I’m always excited when a Mexican spot has a strong menu, yet tons of specials each day. Highlights were corn soup, chips with mole and their pork is out of bounds.
Fantastic, fresh, local food, a nice, relaxed vibe, and a fantastic staff. Highly recommend checking out the specials, we had some of the local corn soup and it was truly fantastic. My partner had a trio of tacos, he enjoyed all three, but the Cochinita Pibil was a standout. I had the Carne Asada Quesaburro and it truly hit the spot.
I love the vibe of this place, the people, and the food is down right tastey! It feels like you're in central Mexico there (where my fam is from) and that's rare in the Hudson Valley. The decor is on point, service super genuine, fast, and friendly. My only suggestion would be for them to reconsider their prices and portion sizes a bit. I spent $40 today for lunch and it got me one beer, two small tacos and a small thing of guac and chips. The guac and chips alone cost $13, which seems unreasonable and the tacos should have been more generously portioned for the price. Definitely worth going tho, and I would guess other items have more value for what you pay.
LOVE LOVE LOVE Upstate Taco. Delicious tacos, so many sauces, everything here is just so good. Tastes so fresh and so flavorful. Absolutely perfect to order for takeout or to dine in at their adorable indoor or outdoor seating areas.
During a little road trip, we stumbled on to this really tasty Mexican restaurant. We tried appetizers, tacos, nopales, drinks, and desserts—everything was absolutely delicious! Being our first time there, we just grabbed a couple seats at the bar not really knowing that you need to order at the register and then sit. Once we figured it out though, it all went smoothly (haha). The restaurant itself was cozy. We watched as the chef prepared all the food behind the bar. She was providing super fast service considering how many people were waiting for food. We started getting tacos and sandwiches as they were coming of the griddle. The elote was perfection—we actually ordered it again after finishing our first round of food. The drinks were tasty as well! It’s also family friendly, during our brief lunch, we saw many families come and go. If we lived closer this would be my favorite take out spot!
Had a lovely lunch at this taquería located in Stone Ridge, NY right next to Accord. The white wine was refreshing and my husband enjoyed the Mexican grapefruit soda. The tacos were sooo good! I had the veggie and fish taco and both were great. My husband enjoyed the pork taco. The homemade sauces were fresh and the perfect spice to top off the tacos. I stuck with the mild sauce while my husband enjoyed all three. Very cute restaurant and we enjoyed sitting at the bar.
After a busy day under the sun, this place was a welcome respite. Had myself a couple of cups of cold water and a michelada. Fortunately they had nopales (not in a taco) and I had both pork and chicken. Spicy enough to accompany my drink. It was filling and tasty. Saw a number of folks drop by for takeout while having my meal. Seems like a lot of folks do that here.
Food was alright, but the portions were so small. The food also took at least a half hour to get to us. For the price and wait, I wanted much more food. I was still very hungry after my quesadilla. And they only give you plastic utensils and the plastic knife is awful.
The food here is just alright if you like gourmet style mexican ! Not all that traditional and way way over priced. The Posole was really good but tiny and cold. I was looking to warm up on a cool breezy day. This little snack cost me over $30 dollars with a tip. Kinda a scam pay for your food and Tip before you get your food. "Edit" after the owners response. Ha, not even the same category as a taqueria a real taqueria would have cost much less. Best wishes Great or Bad reviews.
Stopped here on my way to MA, I really wanted authentic Mexican should have went to taco bell. I ordered 2 chicken tacos NO ONIONS (I'm allergic) first bite I notice that the taco is VERY GREASY, and I get a mouth full of onions, I discovered they were hidden under the chicken, with remnants from uncleaned cooking surface. Having my dr. call in my medication. The health department really needs to pay them a visit
This is the Worse ripoff I ever went to. I ask for 3 Tocos (tiny) I ask what does it come with. Answer nothing...No Rice, No Refried beans, No Tortilla chips (standard) So I paid for a small side of Tortilla chips. I asked for Coke, they had none. I wound up with watermelon Juice. My son got one Quesadilla and tap water. Now I tell them Where I will be sitting so they can bring the merger food to me. They tell me you serve yourself, Napkins, Plate, condiments all shlepped by me. It cost me 50 something dollars for doing it all myself and they want at least an 18 percent tip at the register. NEVER AGAIN.
