A place with a homey atmosphere. We had dinner here and felt right at home. The owners were friendly and the food was excellent. We tried the gnocchi ossolani, which I recommend, and a tagliata with gorgonzola, finishing with a delicious pear and chocolate cake. A pleasant and relaxing evening.

A name couldn't have been more fitting, we love places like this 😁. A homely atmosphere, seating for about 30. Let's start with the bill: first course, second course (ample), dessert, water, wine, coffee, and Ginépy, €50... excellent, I'd say. As for the dishes, I'll leave the comments to you. The pasta is homemade, you can tell because the tagliatelle are not the same thickness... The stews are finger-licking good; we actually mopped up everything with our sauce. The lady in the dining room noticed and appreciated it. The shame is it's not around the corner, but we'll find a way to come back and visit you again 🙂🙂🙂

OMG! This house made gelato on a stick was incredible. By far the most flavorful bite I had on my trip to Italy. Chocolate with a hint of hazelnut. Mmmm good!

The atmosphere is intimate and conservative, with a touch of old-fashioned yet truly welcoming. The family who runs it is lovely, the dishes are authentic and truly well-cooked, and the ingredients are top-quality. I especially recommend the meat, which is incredibly tender and, in my case, accompanied by excellent mushrooms. The price was more than fair for the excellent, and abundant, dishes we ate. I highly recommend this place, especially considering the stunning lake view nearby!

We’ve been a party of four, and just checked in at a marvelous house overlooking the lake and islands. This restaurant has given us one of the most memorable experiences throughout our tour (and countless visits to Italy) - each of us had a different 3 / 4 course meal, and every dish came with a welcome, delicious twist to it. We were blown away by the caramel cream desert, different and tasty like no other we’ve ever tasted. We’re sure to return, and recommend it - and the lovely service - to perfect any visit to the area.

Ristorante posizionato in una piccola frazione di stresa con una splendida vista su tutto il lago. Arredato in modo semplice e "rustico" in stile baita dispone di pochi posti a sedere quindi conviene prenotare. Nel menù si trovano piatti semplici ma gustosi con proposte sia di carne che di pesce di lago. Piatti gustosi e porzioni abbondanti. Lista vini interessante con etichette regionali. Personale gentile e prezzi giusti. Unica nota negativa è la difficoltà nel trovare parcheggio.

Trattoria rustica e semplice sulla strada che da Stresa va al Mottarone, ambiente familiare, porzioni abbondanti, non metto 5 stelle perché mi hanno fatto pagare la cottura della pastina di mia figlia, premetto che la pastina la abbiamo portata noi e anche il condimento.

Tutto molto buono. Ambiente familiare, proprietari accoglienti e attenti alle richieste dei clienti. Possibile prenotazione sia su the fork che per menù non alla carta. Consigliato per eventi familiari ma anche in coppia o gruppo di amici. Molto vicino alla bellissima Stresa e facilmente raggiungibile dall' autostrada. Assolutamente da provare!

Entering Al Rustico is like sitting down to eat with a rehabilitated bear: the owner greets you with a growl, a "don't ask me any questions" look, and the look of someone who might have been referred to a couple of therapists. Then the food arrives, and it's surprisingly good. Sincere dishes, full flavors, a cuisine that speaks volumes. And as you eat, something changes: between appetizers and first courses, the gruff man melts away; between main courses and dessert, a smile even appears. By the end of the evening, it's no longer the potential psychopath who invited you to sit down, but an almost affectionate host, as if the therapy had worked right there, in front of you. A restaurant where you eat well and witness, for free, the owner's redemption. Recommended for those who love good food and stories with an unexpected happy ending.

Cheap raw materials and high prices. €45 each for a value of €10. Industrial products passed off as handicrafts. Like homemade baked potatoes that are actually frozen in bags, or chestnut ravioli that are actually made with buckwheat. Clarification: chestnut is a fruit and buckwheat is a cereal. This is a tourist trap and a risk for someone who may have allergies.

Si trova a Somerico, una frazione di Stresa sulla strada per il Mottarone. Ricorda una piacevole osteria tipica ( di montagna). Il punto forte sono gli antipasti, abbondanti e di buona qualita', di affettato, formaggi e proposte calde si formaggi in pastella. Il resto del menù è meno interessante ( per esempio io ho preso dei ravioli ripieni di prosciutto crudo della Val Vigezzo in fonduta di formaggio e la fonduta in realtà era una crema, ho preso una porzione di lumache e una delle 6 era solo guscio). Il punto più negativo è dato dalla carta e dal servizio relativo al vino. I vini sono indicati solo per tipo e senza nominare la cantina di produzione ed i prezzi sono esagerati. Noi abbiamo ordinato un "generico" barolo e ci è stato servito direttamente nel decanter, senza neanche mostrarci la bottiglia ( pagata 70 euro.....). In base alla nostra esperienza, anche se il posto è indubbiamente piacevole, non lo consiglierei, soprattutto per il la brutta esperienza relativa al vino.

Been there with a group of friends and each of us had a different experience. The pros where the cozy environment and the staff, polite and available. We started with a shared plate of fondue which was accompanied by a little plate of cured meat and a little box of old bread which was absolutely not enough for seven people. We asked three times for other bread and at the end we didn’t know how to eat the left fondue (which was also 17 euros per person, a bit too much for two peace of meat and some dry bread) we ended up using it to make the unflavored polenta we order as second plate more flavorful. I then took a linguine with mushrooms and speck, I received some cut pasta with frozen mushrooms and everything was dry and loose. The other friend that took the polenta with cheese was satisfied, and so did the one who took ravioli. Too expensive anyway for what we ate!

We ordered and ate in 45 minutes. The owner cleared the table while we still had the fondue to finish, and the salami was sour! The snails tasted like they were frozen in the freezer, which means they'd been there for a while. Also, strangely, the dishes were ready in less than 5 minutes...I'll leave that up to you to decide! The owner was rushed and not very kind! Compared to a few years ago, the place is out of date! The owner was always scolding her husband in front of the customers! Yeah, never again! I don't recommend it!

This is our third time back, and it will be our last. What a shame! We arrived within two minutes. They wanted to know what we were ordering. After finishing the first course, two minutes passed, and the second course arrived. We hadn't even finished the fondue when she started clearing the table and taking away the fondue we hadn't finished yet. The cold cuts weren't fresh, the salami was rancid, and the snails tasted like frozen Frizzi. Two coffees and a grappa cost €10, a bit too much. I don't recommend it.

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The owner was rude and unhelpful, and the food was mediocre at best. I would not recommend this place to anyone with babies cause he despise babies and has no respect for anyone👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿
