Ordered a make your own vegetarian New York pizza. It was fresh, hot and tasted very delicious!! I definitely feel I’m going to revisit this restaurant many times. Loved the vibe of this place as well.
This is hands down, the most authentic NY pizza I’ve found in the Bay. The crust texture is perfect, the flavor of the sauce, the cheese and topping selection. Absolutely delicious. I will be back, OFTEN! Edit: for reference, we ordered 4 slices (2x cheese, pepperoni, veggie) and a root beer
I must admit, I make sure to eat at Giovanni's on a regular basis. NY style pizza is authentic, all the sandwiches (Heros) are super tasty from chicken parm to meatball... one of my favorite entrees are Veal Parm and chicken picatta.
If you’re looking for a great Italian restaurant that serves great quality pizza and pasta and other delicious food. Giovanni’s is highly recommended. Reasonably priced $-$$ and will beat the taste of nearby fine dining brands. Very friendly staff makes it a comfortable place to enjoy lunch or dinner.
Local family owned pizzeria, a favorite of my family for atleast 2 decades. We are originally from the east coast and this place always hits the spot when we are craving NY style pizza. It’s one of the few places that make an eggplant parmigiana sandwich in the Bay Area. Perfectly fried cutlets, not too oily. And good ratio of sauce, cheese, bread. They have wide option of pasta dishes as well if pizza is not your thing. I wish I could comment on the pasta but every time I go I get my holy grail items lol. The staff is very friendly and they have alot of regular customers as a result.
Best pizza in Sunnyvale family has been coming here since opening. Sad they may be closing the lot amazing people here.
One of the best shrimp penne alfredo I have tried!! And the pizza 🍕 slice was delicious 🤤
Not many places make good pizza in SJ area. This places was really good. Phoned in an order for a small pizza. When i arrived pizza was already cooked and ready for pick up. Went to the car and instantly had to have a slice. Zero flop, crunchy/crisp crust and each bite of the crust had a snap. Pizza didn’t make it out of the parking lot. Even though my to go pizza was really good, I would definitely recommend dining in versus taking to go. As we all know pizza boxes are the enemy of pizza
Can't go wrong with great pizza and sandwich. Highly recommend their eggplant parmigiana sandwich!
Such a friendly place - everyone is on the ball, the food is AMAZING! The Sicilian pizza was thick and yummy. The shrimp fettuccini Diablo was actually spicy and flavorful! The chicken Alfredo was also super flavorful and filling. Everything gets a 5 star rating, the food, the service, all great!
Got a chicken contadino, was really good with soft and crunchy bread. Additionally, I was out of data that day, and they gave access to their wifi. The place is also huge with a lot of tables, so you won’t feel squeezed.
Super fun place, especially if you are from the East Coast. Ambience is meh, but the food is simple and amazing.
Actually pretty decent hole in the wall but I over heard the waiter saying that the owner of the building didn't re-lease them so theyre gonna be gone soon
Great service and great history, you can taste it. Everything is from scratch. Military friendly and delicious.
Great food, great service, great place. It's been a few years since I've been here but they're still serving up great pizza
I eat here the vegetarian pizza it was great I like the thickness of the breed and the balanced of ingredients on the pizza. Recommended!!!
Very kind people and great pizza! So great that I had to remember part way through to take a picture since I wanted to review lol I tend to just not review (in the last few years) of I don't like the place lol! This is delicious solid pizza. The crust is decently thin, the toppings generous. My son was so happy with his slice of pepperoni pizza (he is hard to please!) that he even tried to take his plate with him 😂😂 We WILL get more again! ❤️❤️ Update 2/20/26: came back, my son is now capable of picking the massive slice of pizza up and the picture speaks for itself lol to be honest, this time my combo piece hit so perfect! It was literally so delicious. 10/10 genuinely recommend!
I love this place so so much!!! It's walking distance from work, so it's the perfect work lunch with a non rushed feel. We always tell them we're in a hurry and they always seat us right away with fast service. The place is so big! And actually quite busy at lunch time, but service is always so good!! The pizza is SOOO GOOD!!! The crust is so perfectly thin!!! We got a large veggie pizza to split between 7 of us along w some salads and it was just such a perfect lunch. Went back again after the first time and my coworker got and loved the meatball sub! Can't wait to come back!
This pizza is exactly what I look for in a New York style slice—thin, crisp, and incredibly tasty. The whole place has a great Italian restaurant atmosphere that makes the experience even better. If the rest of their menu is anywhere near as good as the pizza, I know I will be coming here regularly.
Was missing some good NY pizza and decided to check this place out at the advice of the front desk staff at my hotel. Glad I tried it! Got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza, antipasto salad, and garlic knots. I arrived a minute early and they were just finishing putting my order together. The order was perfectly accurate, and the pizza and garlic knots were absolutely top notch. The pizza was very authentic tasting, as well. The antipasto salad was good, but not outstanding. The gentleman at the counter, who I suspect is the owner, was affable and efficient. I will definitely be back next time I'm looking for some good NY pizza!
Not impressed when you look at the restaurant front, but surprised when entered. It is actually quite a large place decided into two sections. The decor is simple, but with an Italian feel. The staff was friendly and attaintive. Both pizzas were delicious, the dough was not greasy, with tasty crispy crust. The special steak sandwich tasted pretty good too. Very good CP!
Perfect ny style pizza. I enjoy the Italian restaurant vibes as well. If their other dishes are as good as their pizza, ill be there all the time.
Giovanni's has some of the best pizza I've experienced in the bay area, truly a hidden gem! A friend and I came here on a weekday evening and found a table right away (there were a couple other parties but not too crowded, could probably hold 50+ people). I got the small vegetarian pizza and although it took a while, it was well worth the wait! The small can definitely feed 2 people so I got to take some to go. Quite delectable, each slice was perfectly made with the right blend of cheese, sauce, and fresh veggies on top. Highly recommend this spot!

Best pizzaria/red sauce joint I've been to west of the Mississippi. Found this gem 20 years ago on a road trip pre Google maps and the card has been on the fridge ever since. If you don't know what I mean, don't expect gourmet anything, table clothes or menus that are printed daily. Do expect great NYC pizza (round and Sicilian) on par with Stromboli's in the East Village or Joe's Downtown, with hearty pasta dishes for those of you who like carbs with your carbs. And talk to the namesake owner. It'll make you want to go back for even more.
One of the best pizzeria in the Bay area. Been around for decades abd with good reason. Authentic taste and fresh and great quality. The staff is great and definitely recommend
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I tried Giovanni Pizza and Pasta in Concord, North Carolina for the first time last week, and I was truly impressed. The female staff member who took my order was very polite, patient, and pleasant. One of the team members even delayed taking their break to make sure the food was prepared properly, which really spoke to their dedication and customer service. The owner went above and beyond by offering me a free soda after learning it was my first visit. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, delicious, and full of flavor without needing any additional seasoning. Everything tasted just right. As promised, I’m writing this review because the experience was excellent from start to finish. I will definitely be returning and recommending Giovanni Pizza and Pasta to others!
We came in on a Wednesday night. It was mostly empty except for a big table and a few others, but people came in constantly for pick up orders. So it was great, seemingly busy but not too crowded. We had a Pepperoni, a cheese and wings and calamari. The pizza quality was TOP TIER for the bay area. They really know what they are doing with a new York slice. I will be coming back here for sure. Good space for kids
Was in town for work, called in a medium pepperoni pizza, NY-style. They said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes, and it was about 10 min from my hotel. It was ready when I got there, when I walked in people were dining and it seemed cozy. The smell inside hit me instantly, immediately making me feel 10x hungrier. Amazing aroma of marinara, cheese and warm dough, I’d stop by again just for that! The pizza was still perfect temp when I got back to my hotel room, and man it hit the spot. Amazing balance of soft and crisp, the underside of the pizza was really perfectly browned. Tasted great, smelled great, I ate more than I intended to! Glad I decided to drive a little and not just order from the Pizza Hut that was close by.

Large room for group gatherings more than just pizza served
Great place to eat authentic Italian food and NY style pizza. Friendly service. Nice decor, made me feel like I was in New York, not the Bay Area. I would definitely come back here to try out the rest of the menu. Come early for lunch during the week. The parking lot and the tables get packed quickly.
The staff was very nice! The pizza was good! We will be back next time we are in the neighborhood!
I have visited Giovanni's New York Pizzeria twice for lunch. The pizza is consistently delicious. We had one with plain cheese and the other with mushroom, onion and pepperoni. Simple, good tomato sauce and enough applied for food flavor. They also have a good selection of beers on tap. The tables and chairs are a little cramped, but plentiful.
Food was okay. Felt like the sauce was a bit running down with water or something. Had a good vibe to the place with a lively atmosphere. Though it was my first time, it did seem like our waiter seemed irritated which kinda threw me off. But overall not a really bad experience, could have been worse but it wasn't. 😶
Only ordered the primavera pasta and the cheese sticks. The pasta sauce was really good. Portion is decent. Atmosphere: a bit loud but feels very family oriented so it was nice
The waitress increased the dining experience exponentially! She came by and asked if we wanted to hear her joke, super friendly and sweet. It was a dad joke 😂 We got lots more food but dug into everything before taking pictures. I like that the wings weren't tossed, I like the dip control! Good portions, we shared dishes and took some home!
I used to live in NYC and I still go there quite often. This is close as you can get to a NY pizza. Darn good. Only one person was waiting on tables the day I went so it was little slow. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Good food and atmosphere, so far friendly folks, but I personally don't like or think the staff should be handling pizzas or slices with their bare hands while also touching other things like money, counters, etc and then touch the pizzas again possibly infecting with bacterias. They should wear gloves and someone else manage money. I saw several folks touched my pizza slices, touched their pants, the counter, handled a phone call and come back to pour toppings and then put in oven. I was disgusted and ended up given the pizza away as I later could not eat it thinking about it.
I was disappointed with the food. The eggplant parmigiana was good and had a nice cheesy topping, but the portion was small, and it was the only thing in the plate -- no bread, pasta, garnishment. We ordered the Chicago pizza, which was $47. The crust was nice and crispy, but the toppings were very sparse. $90 with tax and tip. Probably won't go back.

12" small pizza and calamari. Paid $35.47 for this. The food was ok. I was instructed to come 20 minutes for pick up, came 5 minutes early and the food was a bit cold. Calamari wasn't too big of a portion and it was chewy and had to air fry it back home. It was just about a 7 minute drive. Kind of crazy paying almost $40 just for 2 small orders.
Food was not very good. Pizza was sloppy and felt like it was frozen. The dough wasn’t cooked all the way. I recommend them visiting shops like bibos to understand how a good pizza is made You can see the pineapple isn’t even fresh and they literally put just a few olives on there also the combo veggies were thrown on after the fact not even cooked I recommend going to many other places before here

I've never been so disappointed in pizza!? Lol. I had a simple order of two, Pepperoni Pizza Slice that includes: pineapple chunks, tomato sauce and melted cheese. I included ham and ordered a salad. The order was done early, pizza was COLD from sitting out, no pineapple, little to no sauce and flat as can be, was disgusting, I couldn't eat it, was like it was run over with a truck, no flavor, the salad was room temperature. I called they said they could replace the pizza if I drove back, nothing about the salad and a refund couldn't be done because of door dash. This was my first time and zero interest of coming back. Beware your food will be sitting out at room temperature. A bowling alley pizza is better then what I paid for. This is what you pay for $6.25. I ordered Pizza My Heart, vast difference. They actually use ingredients, not cold, what I paid for and it was delivered.
