Was looking for a breakfast place here in Tampico when I stumbled across el gran pipian. The menu is tough cause there’s so much to choose from but I spoke to the waitress who was very nice and asked her what she recommended. So I ordered the enchiladas surtidas which is like 1 of everything and that was a great choice and it came with cecina. The Jamaican and fresh lemonade was also very good. Would definitely come back again and try other things in the menu if I’m ever visiting Tampico.
I loved it, excellent service. Great food. Good atmosphere. Great variety.

If you like enchiladas, you'll love this place. They have a unique assortment of enchiladas to choose from. Everything from traditional red and green enchiladas to enchilada sauce made with peanuts, mole, extra spicy and more. Make sure to order it with cesina, Tampico version of carne asada.
Great place to have breakfast with your family or friends. Comfortable AC, clean restrooms, fast service, fair prices. Restaurant has small parking space behind, also you can park around the block. If you eat "normal" ask half order that's enough. Empipinadas with eggs or with cecina. Enjoy coffee along with an order of "platanos fritos" or "bisquetes".

Went on a Thursday late afternoon with another person. I ordered enchiladas with scrambled eggs and beans. My aunt ordered pork chop with beans.food was delicious. Service was great. Lots of menu options. Low prices. Great place for family's. Only negative parking lot small.
Service, despite being busy in Mother's Day, was prompt. I started w fried bananas w cream n carne guisada w fresh cheese, and fresh lemonade. Good.
