Gran descubrimiento a las afueras de Torrelavega. Buena comida. Buenas cantidades.
¡Repetiremos seguro!
Four of us ate there and ordered octopus, Casa Herrera salad, stuffed leeks, cachopo (a breaded and fried veal or pork cutlet), two slices of cheesecake, four beers, and four coffees. The bill came to €85, which is very reasonable for the quality of the food and the generous portions. The service was excellent. We'll definitely return to this restaurant if we're ever in Torrelavega again. By the way, it's best to make a reservation.
We had some friends visiting from Madrid and chose this restaurant for dinner. There were eight of us: four adults and four teenagers. We ordered tapas, hamburgers, and cachopo. Everything was delicious, and the service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended.
It's a good option, especially considering the quality and price. There are many choices; the menu is very extensive (portions, burgers, sandwiches, platters, etc.). Everything is quite good, and the place is cool, although reggaeton is always playing. The service is always good. A fantastic option. The guy who served us was super attentive and friendly, and we loved how he talked about his passion for wine. We've gone from 4 to 5 stars. It's worth every penny.
A truly delightful and surprising discovery that will undoubtedly bring us back again. The homemade cuisine is highly recommended, the homemade desserts are simply sublime, and the service is impeccable, making this place a hidden gem. Congratulations to the owners and staff! Highly, highly recommended.
We ate at this restaurant during our trip to Cantabria and we couldn't have been happier. First of all, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the owner was just as lovely and approachable. It was a pleasure talking to him, and we were even able to eat on the terrace with our dog (thank you so much!). As for the food, we practically rolled out of there. Everything was delicious. The cocido lebaniego (a traditional stew) was divine. We also ordered a platter with cachopo (a breaded and fried meat dish), and wow, it was huge! Everything was so tasty, and to top it all off, the cheesecake was a delight that couldn't have been better. I have to say that of all the cheesecakes I've tried, this one has become my favorite. In short, this is a restaurant you have to go to if you want to eat well and receive excellent service, and I'll definitely be back every time I'm in Cantabria.
We really liked the place. Especially the restaurant itself and the waiters, who were very attentive. We ordered the cheese board, squid, Iberian jowl pork rinds, and leche frita. The cheese board was delicious. The squid was quite good, but nothing special. The torreznos were good... we didn't even eat half of the portion because they were very, very greasy. I really wouldn't order them again. The flavor was good, but the large amount of fat they release when you chew them makes them very cloying. They would have been better as a side dish than as a portion. The leche frita was delicious, to be honest. We had a reservation.
Eating from the menu, enjoying it, and being treated well is possible here. Come hungry! The cocido lebaniego is fabulous, and every ingredient is savored with great gusto. And the eggs, no matter what they are, are delicious. We tried them with blood sausage and the others with pork rinds. The dessert, if you like, is also homemade. It was a great idea to stop by and try it. I highly recommend it. Thank you.
A magnificent restaurant in Tanos, the food was delicious, especially the cheesecake. We arrived and were treated wonderfully (although I recommend booking as it fills up quickly). Parking is very easy in the area, and it has both a magnificent terrace and a beautifully decorated interior. We will definitely return.
We decided to have dinner here on Saturday night. We called in the morning and, although it was full, they reserved a table for us without any problem. The service was very quick and the waiters were super friendly and attentive at all times. We tried the octopus, which was cooked to perfection; the king prawns, flavorful and juicy; and the croquettes, crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside—a delight. For dessert, we fell in love: the cheesecake and the traditional puff pastry were spectacular, and homemade too. A place where you can see the care in every detail. I will definitely recommend it and return. 💡 Did you know that octopus is one of the seafood foods richest in naturally occurring taurine? Taurine helps regulate hydration and electrolyte balance in cells... ideal for recharging your energy! 🔖 #EatingWithAndrea
Without a doubt, I'll choose this place for the best value on our trip to Cantabria. I went there on a recommendation from a friend, and it was a great choice. A super-moderate set menu for €12.90. The salad for starters was spectacular. The eggs with potatoes and bacon were also spectacular. And the cake... breathtaking. Something else I really liked was not only the decor, which is very attractive and exquisite, but also the wonderful service from the staff, including the owner. I'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.
It's a bit difficult to get served because the bar is small when it's busy. The tables are fine, but at lunchtime they reserve the entire bar for service, so you have to find your own place to sit and order. It's not cheap; the prices are on the rise. Since I've known it (I go there some weekends) and they changed management, they've gone up, but the place has something special that makes it worth visiting. The aged vermouth is very good and well-made, and you can also have a complimentary glass of wine, which is also very good. The calamari is delicious, with a very good batter. You have to drive from Torrelavega because it's on the outskirts near Tanos, but parking isn't difficult (unless it's beach season when there's a lot of traffic or a busy Sunday when it's practically empty).
We were blown away by the restaurant; the food was delicious, the prices were great, and the service was impeccable. We had the set menu, and it was quite good, to be honest. The starters, in my opinion, were a little lacking in variety, but you certainly didn't leave hungry. It was incredibly busy, so it's best to book in advance.
We've been several times for the set menu; each day of the week offers a different soup or stew option, and pasta or a variety of salads as starters. The main courses feature eggs and potatoes, and the choices change (such as jijas, morcilla, steak, pork loin, etc.). There's also a choice of desserts. The staff is friendly, and there's not much of a wait between courses, which is appreciated if you don't want to linger over your meal.
The restaurant has a good menu and generous dishes. The food is tasty and the prices are reasonable. The only drawback is the atmosphere in the terrace area, which, being enclosed, is noisy and requires you to speak very loudly to understand your companions if there are more than four of you. In any case, I recommend it, as the most important thing: quality, cuisine, and price are very well balanced, and you'll leave satisfied.
I give 4 stars because I will return more times to try more things. The service was very good and I saw some very attractive things to try on their menu, although... in what I ordered it was a little weak in some things, the truth is that it is 4 stars but I would have given it less if I were only evaluating last night's dinner, the cons or faults, the cheesecake was like flan, the texture was more noticeable egg than cheese and on top it was a little burnt and above all the biggest mistake was the CARAMEL SYRUP !!, the mussels lacked a touch of flavor, the potatoes with bacon and cheese seemed like an attractive and different dish, I liked the aioli was good, and I liked the croquette dough much more than its batter. The dough had a good texture and flavor, more positive things, good sized portions and super good unbeatable prices, there is no competition there, what I would do would be turn down the music a little, I personally do not like to be in a dining room with loud music apart from that it incites the tables next to me As soon as they have two wines they start to yawn and in the end there is a lot of noise. In conclusion, a spacious place with its large terrace and large portions, good service and good prices. I recommend it and I will return!!
A very good option for lunch. They have a daily menu that varies in price depending on the day. The truth is that the main course is the main course, which is based on potatoes, eggs, and a third ingredient. I think the blood sausage is one of the best I've ever had (and I ate a lot of it, and it's homemade), but it has a delicious taste and never repeats. The dishes are varied and well prepared. A place to keep in mind in Torrelavega.
Not much of a restaurant. Casa Herrera is a noisy bar with moderately nice raciones in the spot that the great Los Avellanos used to be (... nothing to do with it in terms of the caliber of the food)
