Gorgeous setting. Staff all super friendly. Beautiful hotel and surroundings. Food delicious. Look forward to coming back to Anciovi and the San Dominico the next time we are in Taormina. Recommend the prawn starter and the caprese salad. Tiramisù also delicious from what my dining companion said

Una di quelle esperienze che restano. Anciovi è un angolo di bellezza dove tutto è curato con attenzione e passione: dall’accoglienza calorosa al servizio impeccabile, sempre presente ma mai invadente. Il cibo? Un viaggio nei sapori autentici del mare, esaltati da una cucina creativa ma rispettosa della tradizione. Ogni piatto è pensato, equilibrato, servito con eleganza. E poi c’è la vista: il mare che si apre davanti come un dipinto in movimento, accompagna ogni momento rendendolo ancora più speciale. Un posto che sa emozionare, dove tornare e ritornare. Complimenti!

Bellissima esperienza, siamo stati per il compleanno del mio fidanzato. Siamo rimasti incantati immediatamente dal meraviglioso giardino che portava al ristorante Anciovi. Il personale è stato gentile e professionale e il cibo molto buono. Ho ordinato una pasta lunga all’aragosta deliziosa e la pizza del mio ragazzo era altrettanto buona. Andrea, il nostro cameriere toscano, era assolutamente fantastico e spontaneamente gentile. Veramente una persona rara e portata per il suo lavoro. Ci hanno anche fatto una torta su richiesta per due (che era per quattro almeno ahah) e la abbiamo portato a casa per mangiarla i giorni successivi. Assolutamente fantastico, spero in futuro di avere la possibilità di stare per una notte nell’hotel. Grazie mille Anciovi per averci fatto passare una serata super! Paola&Alex

Posto speciale con vista incantevole con un ambiente curato nei minimi dettagli. Il servizio è stato cordiale e attento. La cena è stata di altissimo livello, si nota la qualità delle materie prime e la mano dello chef. Prezzi sicuramente più alti rispetto agli altri locali della zona ma la qualità si paga. Bellissima esperienza.

Hotel San Domenico Taormina… semplicemente fantastico!!! Il ristorante Anciovi e’ bellissimo con una vista mozzafiato cibo e servizio eccellente… cosa dire più di così ! Consigliatissimo

Servizio ottimo. Piatti buoni ed ambiente bellissima.

Cenato in questo ristorante insieme alla mia famiglia e avevo alte aspettative per il contesto in cui si trova. Cibo buono, giuste porzioni. Quello che ci ha un po' delusi è stato il servizio e la collocazione del tavolo. Il servizio non è stato così attento e impeccabile come ci si aspetterebbe da un ristorante all'interno di un hotel 5 stelle e la posizione del tavolo posto a ridosso del bancone bar e tavolo di servizio era un continuo viavai dei camerieri che hanno reso l'atmosfera un po' confusionaria. Tutto sommato consiglio di provare questo ristorante almeno per la qualità delle materie prime.

The views over the Ionian Sea are beautiful, the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, the food is very nice, and the service is good. The prices are a bit higher than in town, but the views and location make the cost worth it. The food is very nicely presented, the menu has a good variety, and everything tasted good. Very fresh and high quality. The service was friendly, but not overly attentive (I think our waiter was a bit busy). Plates were not cleared and wine was not refilled as quickly as we would have liked, but overall the service was good. The food came out quickly and was served at the perfect temperature. The restaurant is casual, yet elegant. The dress code is nice casual.

I chose the venue for my birthday dinner on account of being a white lotus fan. I was surprised by how serious security was at the door insisting on checking my reservation before allowing me entry though they were very friendly about it and I suppose it makes sense given the shows popularity and the need to protect guests. The grounds are stunning and the view is beautiful though I recommend bringing insect spray as you are by the water and they are prevalent. We enjoyed the food and the focaccia bread was super soft and delicious. I recommend the triofe pasta which is a speciality shape of the local area. They also gave me a little chocolate covered ice cream complementary with a candle which was a nice birthday touch. Definitely worth a visit

Restaurante emblemático en el interior del Hotel Four Season que es un antiguo convento recién reformado en el 2021 y con todo lujo de detalles. Entrar en el hotel y en el restaurante ya te da la sensación de estar en un lugar especial, un lugar diferente, un lugar único… la atención por parte de los empleados y camareros es impecable, pendientes de ti en todo momento. La comida es buena, pero no excelente (creo que es un punto que deberían de revisar) la insalata di mare, un poco carente de sabores y la pasta vongole correcta pero me sigue decepcionado algo el sabor y la cocción; para terminar tomamos una pizza Italia que ahí sí que reconozco los sabores y la calidad de la misma; ofreciendo una experiencia al paladar diferente y unos sabores de otro nivel. En general es un sitio que recomiendo y al que volvería.

You are definitely paying mainly for the opportunity to experience this beautiful hotel. The food was nice but not outstanding (except the bread). My main concern was that when we asked for the bill we told we hadn’t spent enough and that there was a minimum 80 Euro charge per head. While it would be easy to spend that much, given the prices, we were there for lunch with our kids & didn’t have wine as we had a trip planned later in the day. We also didn’t fancy dessert as the pizzas we had were pretty filling. They said that the minimum charge would have been shown when booking but I definitely don’t remember seeing this (I rechecked the booking page on Four Seasons and nothing is shown before you click ‘confirm reservation’ to enter your credit card details; similarly there was nothing in the confirmation email from Open Table, which does include other conditions like the cancellation policy and 50 Euro charge per head for a no show). When I raised a concern the staff did agree to waive the minimum but the whole experience left a sour taste.

Non posso certo dire che si mangi male, piatti tipici della cultura siciliana in un ambiente disinvolto e carico di citazioni. L’unico problema è la relazione tra il menù ed i prezzi. Mi piace spendere bene per la ricerca e per un buon servizio ma qui mi sono sentito preso in giro. Uno dei ristoranti più cari in assoluto (nella sua relatività) che io abbia frequentato. Ho preso una pasta con le melanzane e degli involtini di pesce spada che si possono mangiare in qualsiasi ristorante della zona senza nessuna poesia. Capisco che sia un hotel 5 stelle e che sia frequentato prevalentemente da americani che sono abituati a questi prezzi ma trovo inaccettabile dover pagare un piatto di pasta 40 euro. Gli involtini di pesce spada piccolissimi accompagnati da una giulienne di finocchi a 48 euro… Il tutto accompagnato da musica 🎵 da discoteca super ritmata come i ristoranti di Los Angeles. Meglio andare in altri hotel allo stesso prezzo ma molto più ricercati.

Absolutely beautiful hotel and location in an old palace. Cocktails were great! However the food at this restaurant was below par. Such a shame and wasted potential with sweeping ocean views. I had the lobster pasta, and the sauce tasted like baked beans - should’ve paid attention to previous reviews. I was also scrambling to season it with salt and pepper. Also, I left quite dehydrated as it’s up to the waiters to continuously fill your cup with water instead of provide water for the table. Overall, quite disappointed for the amount you pay.
