Es un restaurante muy bueno de una calidad excelente. Fuimos bastante tarde para comer pero no cierra la cocina así que está muy bien. Los chipirones están muy buenos así que los recomiendo. La atención por parte del personal es muy bueno. El único “pero” es que no tienen café.

Lugar Super acogedor, queda en una esquinita preciosa con buganvillas en una calle peatonal en pleno centro histórico de Tarifa. Sigue estando al la altura de mi última reseña. Acogedor restaurante típico de Tarifa. Dispone de terraza abierta y pequeña barra interior tan acogedora como pequeña, con dos tres mesas altas en la puerta. El servicio estupendo, y la comida de fábula, con ganas de volver mas. NO reservan, es por orden de llegada y según hueco. Pedimos berenjena con mermelada de tomate y queso de cabra. Albondigas de atún y montadito de atún. Espectacular todo.
Olvídate de reservar porque aquí no reserva ni Dios. Siempre está a tope, pero ese barullo es parte del encanto. El Francés tiene tapas de escándalo, platos que saben a casa y camareros que van a mil pero con una sonrisa. El atún, brutal; las croquetas, adictivas. Si pillas mesa, no la sueltes: estás en uno de los templos del tapeo de Tarifa.
Buenísima experiencia! Nos lo recomendaron y fue todo un acierto!!! Las albóndigas de atún increíbles, las bravas un 10 y los chipirones y pinchos de pollo geniales tambn. Volveremos :)
Sitio referente en Tarifa, calidad, precio y cantidad acorde. Todo lo que comimos estaba delicioso. Pero de esto platos destacaría para mi gusto las albóndigas de atún y la berenjenas. Sin menospreciar el resto.
Tuvimos mucha suerte! Sábado, 3 de la tarde,sin reserva, falló una mesa y "voilà". La atenta camarera nos sentó. Recomiendo albóndigas, montaito de atún. Repetiremos a la vuelta de Cádiz.
La única pega es que hay que ir temprano para apuntarte a la lista. No tienen reservas . Van por lista y orden de llegada y te dicen la hora de tu mesa aproximadamente. Por lo demás ,el rincón precioso. Muy pequeño pero con una terraza agradable bajo una preciosa buganvilla tan nuestra ! Trato fabuloso pese a ir a toda prisa porque están a tope siempre . 100% recomendable . Calidad y precio muy buenos. De visita obligatoria. Opciones vegetarianas en su carta. Un Bar de Tarifa de toda la vida….. Lo llevo conociendo este lugar hace más de diez años, la calidad y el servicio no te defraudará, ahora eso sí no tienen reserva…. Si quieres ir a comer o cenar ve con tiempo y tranquilidad, yo esta última vez fui a la barra y el servicio fue espectacular, unas cervecitas, unas albóndigas de atún con tu hamburguesita y patatas bravas vas servido con una calidad sublime…. Seguid así y muchas gracias por atender siempre con una sonrisa a pesar del trabajo que tenéis !!!!

Cenamos en El francés y la verdad que todo fue excelente. Enseguida nos dieron una mesa para esperar y cuándo teníamos mesa nos atendieron y todo fue muy rápido. La atención de los camarer@s muy buena y eran muy maj@s. La comida estaba espectacular, todos los platos estaban geniales. Destacar el sabor espectacular de los chipirones en su tinta y las berenjenas con queso de cabra. También, pedimos mini hamburguesas, montaditos de atún, ensaladilla, patatas bravas, albóndigas y también genial. Muy recomendable
Siempre que vamos a Tarifa comemos aquí porque nos encanta. Nunca falla, la comida está muy buena. Los platos que nunca fallan son el salmorejo, el montadito de atún, las albóndigas de atún (espectaculares) y los chipirones a la plancha. Hoy hemos probado el pulpo y muy rico también. Lo recomiendo mucho.
Rafa, Eva y su equipo nos recibieron con los brazos abiertos, máxima amabilidad, recomendaciones perfectas. El tarantelo de atún es de otro nivel, las albóndigas y el timbal de verduras también. Sin duda, para repetir. Muy buena gente
Nos lo recomendaron y acierto, estaba todo muy bueno. Recomiendo la berenjena con mermelada de tomate y queso de cabra un diez de plato.
Suele estar lleno siempre, asi que recomiendo ir temprano nosotros fuimos a las 14 y nos apuntamos en lista y nos llamaron a las 15:30 pasadas.. el sitio no es grande. A pesar de esa espera mereció muchisimo la pena. Las albondigas de atún de las mejores que he comido! Los montaditos buenisimos y calidad precio tambien. El plato principal nos dejamos aconsejar por la camarera. Volveremos!
Una comida de lujo al mejor precio Acudimos por "recomendación de Google", tiene una mesa y barra interior y varias en el exterior en una bonita terraza que justo estaba amenizada por un guitarrista. Esperamos unos minutos y nos acomodaron, cuenta con una amplia carta y varias sugerencias aparte. Nos sugirieron y recomendaron muy bien que pedir, nos decantamos por albóndigas de atún y carrilera para hacer hueco al postre de panacota. Todo exquisito, las salsas para mojar bien el pan, buen trato, buen servicio y buen precio. Recomendable.
Genial! Fuimos por recomendación y la verdad es que nos encantó! Raciones más que contundentes y un ambiente que da gusto! En la terraza permiten comer con las mascotas.

Y la atencion, muy buena tambien. Comimos dos personas por 40€. Lo marcamos como lugar obligado para volver.

De lo mejor que he comido en Tarifa, super recomendable las berenjenas con queso de cabra y el tataki de cerdo. El sorbete de albahaca y maracuyá me dejó sin palabras, estaba superfresquito y espectacular
Teníamos ganas de ir por las reseñas. Sitio modesto, sin grandes florituras. Tuvimos mucha suerte porque no tuvimos que esperar a que nos dieran mesa. No aceptan reservas dada la demanda. Aún así, hay mucha rotación en cuanto a mesas. Destacar las patatas bravas; pocas veces hemos probado una salsa tan rica. Un Pollo con verduras y cous cous, muy rico y abundante. Calamares con ensalada y patatas "caseras" ( que para nosotros son patatas chips de toda la vida ). Pero lo mejor fueron los postres CASEROS que nos recomendó Vicky, que nos estuvo atendiendo durante todo el servicio de manera muy simpática y profesional, a pesar del ajetreo que había. Mouse de chocolate y petit suise de fresa...maravillosos los dos. En general, un sitio para repetir y probar otros platos. Volveremos.

Bar El Francés exudes positive energy. It's always packed, always buzzing, with that real Andaluz warmth. Tapas here are excellent (you must try their seared tuna sandwich, the way they prepare it with the garlic sauce is unmatched), and their specials (like stews) are the kind that take you home, real home cooking like my mom used to make. Staff are lovely, lively, joking, singing, and clearly loving what they do. It’s the kind of spot where you order a cold drink, relax with friends, and let the flavors and atmosphere do the rest. If you want pure southern Spain (loud, tasty, authentic) his is it. One of my top 10 in Tarifa. Intimate bar area, outdoor covered seating, and street side seating make for an vibrant experience.
Bar El Frances was one of our highlights in Tarifa. We sat at the bar and that was fine! Staff is very kind, quick and has attention for everyone. And then the best part… the food! The aubergine with goat cheese was so good, mouth watering… same for the Tuna and Squid. A place where you want to return every time when your in Tarifa!
We really like this place. They have great food like tasty papas Bravas, eggplant, and so much more. Also the desserts are great. There are many seats outside under umbrellas and plants all around it. So the atmosphere was really nice. Service was friendly and food got delivered quickly.
I called in a El Francis because I had seen a few reviews praising the patatas bravas and was looking for a quick bite, once I was sat down I noticed the artichoke and goatcheese on the menu. The bravas were indeed excellent and the goats cheese with artichokes was absolutely resplendent and absolutely melted in the mouth. Fantastic food

Bar El Francés was one of the highlights of our time in Tarifa. Yes, we had to wait a little to get a table (they don’t take reservations and there’s no phone or website), but trust me it’s 100% worth it. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the chicken couscous absolutely blew us away. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and totally unexpected from a tapas bar. Every dish was spot on. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the prices are more than fair for the quality. This place is a gem and we’ll definitely be back.
If you are in Tarifa, there is no way you can miss this restaurant. Everything was amazing but if you want to taste something heavenly try the meat balls and the goat cheese mushrooms. We simply loved it and it worthed the wait.
Amazing place. You can not reserve a table. So come early and you will have a spot, because it can be really crowdy. But food is fast and good. We come back every year🙏 eberico secreto and the mellanzane with goat cheese🤤 really fabulous!! 🫶

I loved the waiters here as they're fun and sassy, and it's different from other formal places. I knocked my glass of wine off the table and the waitress immediately told me no worries. She gave me another glass while she cleaned up. How nice was that! Food was good too and we enjoyed sharing them. It's a great night!

They were very nice and let me sit at the bar since I was by myself. I ordered the tuna meatballs (20/10), tuna montadito (ahumado) (15/10) and the chocolate mousse (6/10). I’ll be back for the eggplant with tomato and cheese which looked amazing. Everyone was very nice even though the restaurant was packed and they were very busy but it took them a while to bring the check and take my order even though I was at the bar. The music was great and the service had a really friendly and welcoming vibe. Would definitely recommend and I’ll be back.
The food at this bar cum restaurant is outstanding, and it has a nice terrace. The meatballs (either tuna or meat) are delicious, and the iberico pork deserves medals. We chose to eat here twice. Really outstanding value.
Delicious food! We actually ate here two consecutive nights which is something I rarely do! We had patatas bravas, aubergines and mushrooms with goat cheese and two types of tuna. Desserts also good. Very good value for money!

I’m still thinking of the food we enjoyed here. It was the best in our entire 10 days tour through Andalusia (and we really went to some good places!). Incredible flavor and presentation, I was sad I couldn’t eat more, you need to come on an empty stomach! They are also very informed and accommodating for gluten restrictions so I managed to have a safe lunch here. SO SO goood. Sadly no room for dessert 🥲
