great beers and amazing atmosphere
Great variety of beers
The brewery so amazing I moved to Tecopa to be closer. There are no wrong choices at DVB!
10/10
Great beer! Fun atmosphere! Friendly people! Definitely worth checking out.
Dan is awesome and the beers are great. Met some awesome locals as well. I will definitely be back.
We love this place very cool small brewery. Great beers
Great people and delicious beer here. A must stop in the desert
The beer is fantastic, these guys know how to brew beer. Next time we will bring the camper so we can sample more!
Cool little brewery in a tiny town. Love Dan's creativity and beer making skills.
Very cool ambiance and the staff was awesome! Very friendly and knowledgeable and the beer was fantastic!
Wonderful people, great beer. We always enjoy our visits
Great beers and atmosphere, Dan is the best!
Awesome place to have a beer and hang out. Everyone was very friendly.
Awesome service! GREAT FOOD. Didn't even look at the total when we got the check
Best spot around for a cold brew, homemade by the master himself; Dan the man!
Fun fun fun. Great beer. Cucumber and coffee beers are my favorite
Cool local place. I don't drink alcohol but the Root Beer was great!
What an amazing oasis. Hope to come back someday for more beers, pizzas, fire and cigarettes!
Great and friendly brewery with great tasting beer.
Root beer the best gotta try it
Good beer, good pizza, pool table.
Great beer! Nice folks!
Very nice stop on a ride through the desert
Always have a great time here
Stopped here because of their Beer "stop sign" great spot to hang out and relax. Good place to meet people from all over. Dogs are allowed on patio area. Great selection of brews... They had a nitro coffee stout.. one of the best I've ever had! Be sure to buy a souvenir glass for $3 and get a dollar off your pints. Staff is super friendly and will shoot the breeze .
It's been a while since we were out that way and once again they proved it had been too long! An assortment of brews that is untouched by most breweries in both number & quality. Dan & Gabe(?) were great, other patrons fun and friendly too
This place is right out of a movie. In a scorching desert you suddenly find a place where you get cool hand crafted beers, how cool is that? Very nice place, owner is super friendly, the pizza we had was good. If you are somewhere in the area, go and pay a visit!!
Wonderful beers that seem to always change. Also had homemade ciders and root beer. Just good people who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Keep in mind, they close in the summer months, so make sure you verify their current hours.
Fantastic Root Beer! Simply magical. Dan is the best proprietor I've met. Truly cares about his home made brews and customers. (Sorry about talking Cap'n Bones to death =\ ).
Dan was the best, beers were on point and did great recommending the type of beer one would like. Can't wait to go back
Interesting and diverse selection of beers. Locally sourced date beer was really fun. Got an excellent wood fired pizza from next door to make a perfect lunch stop. 10/10 would visit again.
One of the best smallest town bars I have ever experienced. One of the reviewers is absolutely correct when stating that it is like something out of a movie! A spaghetti western Tarantino type movie per say. Dan is the man! BAMF! Super grateful to have met him. He creates real human moments and an absolute memorable experience just by being himself and sharing his stories of Tecopa. Also, as helpful as can be! We were provided with a map to find the falls around the Date Ranch Farm. Looking forward to returning to visit as soon as possible! This is a must stop when you are visiting Tecopa. The homemade Root Beer and Snake IPA were out of this world! The pizza smelt and looked amaze zen! Super friendly folks around too.
This place is an oasis in the desert. Dan is awesome, a truly great American. Worth the trip. Came all the way from NC! Tecopa was a cool spot and if you're in the area this is a must.
Dan runs a great lil’ brewery and if you like pizza, you don’t have to walk far. Great flavor, fresh ingredients and friendly staff. And lots of free parking!
Dan is amazing, the beer is solid. Make sure to stop by and grab a brew and a pizza!
Great taste which one is made themselves. Could not have experienced this fantastic taste yet. Whenever I go to Death Valley as well as Tecopa, I have visiting continuously. Highly recommended a Snake bite bear.
The best beer I've ever had! I've been to so many breweries and this wins. The owner is friendly and the environment is perfect. I'll be back!
Best beers around! And great service as well! They even have pizzas to order if you get hungry! Dan is an awesome dude! If Google says they are closed they are probably open!
Great pizza, awesome beer and flavors! Root beer float is amazing! Staff is very friendly!
This place is awesome That's where to describe it. Great to have good food and brewery the middle of the Desert Great to see them open For the season
Always a great place to meet good friends and the beer is pretty good too! 😁
Absolutely wonderful place with fantastic beer the pecan porter is my favorite!! Dan and his family are amazing and really know how to take care of their customers!
Rad place. Good beer, good food, and better people. Must stop by!
Amazing place close to pahrump and vegas and the beer is out of this world you must try the ginger beer 🍺 it's the best
Dan the brewery has many great beers. This is wonderful find in the middle of the desert. Just 5 min away from hot spring soaking pools . Add beer, steak and hot springs you have pure bliss. The red beer is our personal favorite. Play some pool and darts . Open yourself up to patio conversation. Definitely will be back love this place.
AWESOME, he’s got like 15 different beers he brews himself, pizza was SUPER GOOD SUPER FAST, super friendly and welcoming, 1000% will be back
Simply excellent. Nice interior and even better beer. Especially after being in the desert all day
If you ever find yourself exploring the rugged beauty of Tecopa, make sure to stop by Death Valley Brewing—a true oasis for craft beer lovers in the desert. Tucked away in this remote town, the brewery offers a laid-back, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The variety and quality of beers here are impressive, especially considering the small-town setting. Whether you're into hoppy IPAs, smooth lagers, or something more unique, there’s something for everyone. The hard root beer is a must-try—it’s refreshingly sweet with just the right kick. Their seasonal and experimental brews also keep things interesting, giving visitors a reason to return. The setting has a rustic, Old West charm with quirky décor that adds to the experience. The indoor seating area is cozy and inviting. If the weather is nice, the outdoor seating lets you soak in the desert landscape while sipping a cold beer. They also serve delicious food, with their pizzas being a standout—generous portions, crispy crust, and great flavors that pair perfectly with a cold pint. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff who are passionate about their craft and happy to share recommendations.
First night in Tecopa, visited the local brewery. What a nice surprise! Had the Imperial Sunrise (Imperial Dry Hopped Red), and the Venusian Blonde (Mountain Rambler Blonde) taste rivals the big boys, very good. BTW, Sunrise produced by Dan and Mike at DV, while the Blonde is a guest beer produced by the other local brewery. THANKS DAN!
My gal and I have sampled microbrew beers all over the USA. We make it a point to enjoy craft beer. This small little microbrewery in the middle of nowhere is our favorite by far. They have a fantastic selection of some very tasty brews. The little restaurant ext door makes a great pizza. I highly recommend this place. You be glad you did.
Great place to enjoy some quality beers. Dan, the proprietor, is super nice and more than willing to hang, discuss the location and his beers. Everyone should stop by or go out of their way to enjoy what they have to offer. Quality pizza and sandwiches next door also!
Great beer. Dan the brewer is awesome. Just make sure to try the beers in black (they are Dans creations) and don't be an idiot and bring your own beer in trying to save money.
I have been to several micro brewery and this one ranks first , way way up there. Beer was great , the place is friendly, very convivial . It is truly the place to be for a beer while in the area of Death Valley . We got stuck in the village during a sand storm , power went out and Never mind this power outage the owner kept the business opened, now that's what I call cool! The world needs Death Valley brewery!
Really excellent and unique beers and friendly owner/brewer/bartender. This time had an IPA (maybe it was a pale? Can't remember) made with local dates from China Date Ranch, it was delicious. Friendly fun casual vibe, mix of locals and tourists. I've stopped here a few time over the years and beers are consistently delicious and company friendly and welcoming. Hope to return.
Probably worth a trip in itself, but the surrounding area of Tecopa is beautiful, along with the fun novelty of the Hot Springs. Great Pizza, a cool quirky bar, but most importantly an impressive selection of varied and delicious brewery beers! Cafe next door also does a great breakfast.
The beers were excellent! I tried the porter, red ale and pale ale, and all were well crafted, distinct, and delicious. Dan knows what he is doing! Great afternoon with friendly locals who made me feel at home. If you are visiting Death Valley, it is worth the detour to Tecopa for the brewery (and pizzas), hot springs, and date farm.
Great place to stop for a really really good beer!
Drove there from Pahrump because I was told how wonderful they are. Well, I was not disappointed. I had a supreme pizza and hard cider that was out of this world... Thank you for the good time. I even bought a DVB Stein 310/313 ...
Super small place but lots of different beer to try from. Owner and son are very friendly. Outdoor patio to cool off at while you drink. Can cost from pool or darts for your bar fun needs. Tad pricey (6$ pints) but that's what comes from small spots.
This place is growing! Lovely space to sit inside and out. Dog friendly patio space. Several beers on the menu which changes often. Staff is friendly and the locals are always ready to share a tale. The area is covered with history and natural science wonders. The bathrooms are nice and parking is free. Fill up your gas tank before you go and bring lots of water because there is no service station. Also bring paper directions and a map since there is no cell service. The days are hot and sunscreen. After sunset it gets cold (and very dark) so bring some warm layers and a flashlight. This is a great destination on the motorcycle or if you want to get out of town for a day.
Great place. The owners take a lot of pride in their beers and are happy to answer lots of questions. My husband loved the beer and I loved the freshly made root beer.
The owner was super friendly and our beers were delicious! I had the Brown Ale and my husband had the Pecan Porter. They were both very tasty and refreshing after our hike at the China Date Ranch. He also offered to order our pizza from the cafe next door so we enjoyed great beer and an amazing pizza. What a perfect place to stop, you won’t be disappointed. It was a great vibe, very comfortable.
This place is awesome. Stayed at Death Valley Hot Springs and came here for pizza, beers, and cider. Owner and locals were super friendly and suggested other things to do in the area, which were also fun (China Ranch Date Farm and Cathedral Canyon). For a town of only ~160 people, this is a total hidden gem. Beer was so good we bought two growlers.
The people here are absolutely amazing — some of the best I’ve ever met. My car got stuck in the mud crust area near the bar, so I went there for help. They took great care of me and even arranged for someone professional to rescue my car. While I was waiting, I had one of the best beers in the world. The whole experience at the bar was just incredible. Absolutely the best place to stop by on your journey through Death Valley
The search for good beer knows no bounds. This here is great beer. Dan the brewer man knows his stuff and has a great selection on tap. Go and try them ALL!
God is great beer 🍺 is good people are crazy. A liquid haven in the middle of the desert. Excellent beer loved the red. Dan knows his stuff. Excellent brewer. Tried some flights , met several people from all over traveling in from the National Parks in the area. Love the live music and the patio seating. Definitely will be back.
Not kidding, this might be the best spot in the eastern Mojave desert. It is a very unassuming spot. Small tables outside, with mixed chairs. Eclectic art work adorns the outside. Inside is a very home like feel. Pool table, random lazy boy chairs, and low ceilings. The bar is small but very cozy. The beer is outstanding. The red ale I had was one of the best in the entire country. My buddy and I brought our guitars and jammed outside for hours. It is such a great vibe. Locals, tourists, and people who don’t want you to know who they are frequent this place. An absolute gem. I cannot recommend this place any higher.
So good we stopped in twice. Other reviews describe it as an oasis in the desert and I could deceive it better. A creative and eclectic spot with some truly unique and delicious brews on tap. Dan was great entertainment and a wonderful host. I felt rather at home there.
The owners were awesome hosts opening up on a Tuesday for our large group that was making a special visit to Tecopa. The beer selection is good as is the actual beer. Don't miss out on one of their great pizzas hot out of the oven too! If you find yourself out here in nowheresville California, make a stop at Death Valley Brewing.
This is hands down my favorite Brewery on the West Coast! If you want to taste some freaking amazing brews come here. It's a neat little joint at the south end of town. Come on in and meet Dan the owner. He is more than happy to give you tastes of the beers and let you know a little about them. I fell in love with "Date gone a rye" I hope he never runs out of that beer because I drive 97 MI from Vegas just to have a pint of it! The atmosphere inside is cozy there's a high top some stools and some cool decor. I think about this place all the time and I actually can't wait until the next time I get to come back relax and have a beer chillin witb Dan and the Tecopa locals. Everyone is really nice and it's easy to spark up a conversation. I even found one of my old friends out here one evening. In the spring and in the fall it's nice to hang outside by the fire pit. Id you like amazing beer and good company than this is the place for you! Stop in sometime you will not be disappointed. Cheers Update: Seven years later and I'm still coming by to see Dan and drink his amazing beers. He recently took down a partition wall and opened the place up. Definitely changes the feel of the place in a positive way. Glad to be a supporting customer and friend.
You have to try the Cucumber Light Ale. So tasty. Clocks in at 5.1% but you'd swear it's 4%. The owner has pizza's (from a wood fired oven) made to order by Kit Fox Cafe next door which are really good as well.
We came across this place driving across country about 3 weeks ago. Let me tell you this place has the best wood fired brick oven pizza I’ve tasted, and the brewery is amazing highly recommend the STOP PECAN ME one of the best beers, so if your every around go in have a beer while you wait for the heart attack that’s a pizza delicious, so thank to the owners of the place for showing us around while we were there so check them out amazing hospitality.

The life blood of Tecopa!! The SNAKE PIT!!! Some of the finest beer on the west coast. One of the best places in the US period to sit down and strike up great conversation with a complete stranger just passin through. A must stop when in Inyo county. DANS THE MAN!!
One of the best breweries I’ve been to. It’s in such a cool area in the middle of nowhere. The beer selection is fantastic - lots of variety. Peach habanero beer, pecan porter, cucumber ale, etc. I love going to small breweries with unique drinks. So many breweries of this size will have basic drinks, half of which are usually IPAs but they have a great selection here. Atmosphere is great too, super laid back and the bartenders are always super chill
Its the only game in town. But in this case that's a good thing. Friendly crowd and good beer. I had the grapefruit IPA and really liked it. We brought in a pizza from next door and had a blast talking to the other folks there.
Incredible, cozy little brewery that is absolutely worth the stop if you're anywhere nearby. Can't believe it took us so long to visit having driven through the area many times. All the beers we tried were fantastic and we are looking forward to trying others on our next visit. We were driving through and wanted to be responsible and not drink too much. Dan has an awesome little setup here and it's well worth your time to detour through for a beer when you're in the area.
MAKE THIS YOUR PIT SPOT. Loved the Beer, people and atmosphere. Wish this was our local brewery since we loved it so much. Wonderful and friendly staff and exactly what you need after a full hard week of hiking in Death Valley (or a prep brew before!) 100/100 recommend coming here we did not want to leave
Highly recommended both for beer lovers and people who like to taste new/different things. They have several interesting / unusual kinds of beers that are home brewed and on tap, for example Passion Fruit, Cucumber, Lemon, Mint, Chocolate, Peach and many more. Cider too. You can get a tasting "flight" of 4 flavors of beer for $12+tax. We didn't try the food but it looked yummy too!
Though not a big fan of beer the gentleman served me a ginger beer that was surprisingly pretty good. If never tried ginger before. Love the desert vibe and friendly people. I hear the pizza there is really good but end up ordering a BLT from the adjacent kit fox Cafe it was delicious.
Staff and tasty beer are worth the escape from Vegas. It's a great meeting place with super friendly people and staff. And the pizza is highly recommended also! Both beer and pizza are a must! This is a great destination.
Absolutely fantastic spot for truly amazing, fresh and unique suds!! I had been going to Tecopa to soak in the hot springs and camp over the past 15 years but only discovered Death Valley Brewing a few years ago. Dan, the brew master and owner is a hoot, always has a fun story to share and if you just chill out and be a fly on the wall you will be guaranteed to hear some funny & interesting stories about life in Tecopa. There are usually over a dozen brews available, and you can also purchase a small growler to take some with you. The cucumber beer was a surprise hit, but I usually go with the tried and true Snakebite IPA! Make sure you check out the wood handle on the tap, rumor has it was carved by the infamous Richard Johnson. 😉

Great place to mix with the locals and pick up on some hiking / viewing advice. The owner is great and has a cool place to hang out.
Cool little brewery with a laid back vibe. The beers were good and the staff as well as the other customers were very friendly and welcoming. DVB doesn't serve food, but there's a cafe right next door that will bring food to you. The hours are a little wonky, but that's because they're doing a lot with limited staff. Don't pass up this little watering hole in the desert.

As someone who spends a lot of time in Death Valley and enjoys craft beer, I really wanted to like this place. I'd heard lots of good things about DVB, and I like the quirky layout and location of Tecopa. However, I cannot rate the brewery well. We arrived last weekend to try their beers. I ordered a Winnow Rye (rye pale ale), and it was probably one of the worst beers I've ever had. It tasted like a bad sour, without any flavor suggesting it was a rye or even a pale ale. I drank less than half and had to stop. My conclusion is that the tap lines haven't been cleaned and there was an infection in them that led to the sour flavor. Pretty bad. Additionally, the interior of the bar smelled like vomit, such that we had to retreat to the other room with the pool area to breathe. We had planned to come back to get a growler, but that was off the table after the bad experience. Stovepipe Wells has some decent beers, so if you're in the mood, I'd recommend the Badwater Saloon at Stovepipe instead.
Basic food. Terrible brew. Pass. Drink my own beer I already paid for is “saving money” I guess. 🤦🏻♂️ After paying $30 for food. lol Oh no, I sat outside drinking a beer while I waited for my food. How diabolical of me.
