The green chicken enchiladas are so good, & that sauce is 🤌 A must try! We took our order to go bc it was cold out, but our waitress took our order quickly & got it to us right away. A great place, highly recommend!
Had dinner with my husband here and we both got tacos. I got the nopalito and he got chicken tacos. We also enjoyed some chips and salsa and he really liked the elote. The food was delicious, came fast and was not too spicy.
The food was fantastic. It came out super quick which is normally not a great sign, but it was delicious. They have a whole plate they bring out of different slasas and toppings for the tacos. Their bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos were great and came with tortillas which was an odd addition, but it worked. Their skirt steak plate came with napal (cactus) which was a pleasant surprise. The steak was juicy and had a lot of flavor. The ONLY downside was that it's outside seating only and it was freezing and windy. I'm sure 99% of the year it's totally fine, but on cold windy days come prepared!
Came here as part of my quest to visit all dinner places in Terlingua. This place is a semi-outdoor with nice atmosphere. I ordered their chicken enchiladas and it came out really fast. The food was on point and portion was generous. Definitely recommend coming here to refuel after a long day at BBNP
Unbelievable find in the middle of nowhere Texas. The food was fresh, the service was friendly and the open air dining experience was ideal given the surroundings. We ordered tacos, enchiladas, elote and picadillo. Every single bit was so delicious! So authentic! So yum! Do yourself a favor…you’ll be sorry if you pass them up!
I don't even know where to begin. These are the best tacos in Texas. Seriously. They're absolutely amazing! Everything about them... the hand-made tortillas, the seasoned meats, the toppings, and the salsas are all delicious! There's a small sign on the roof that says 'The Best Tacos!' and it's not wrong. I don't need to explain much more than that. My photo doesn't do this place justice. I feel ashamed that I wasn't able to capture the taste. You gotta stop and give it a try if you're a fan of tacos.
Well, after the hike at Big Bend, we were looking for a good spot to eat and came across this location and loved it! Great atmosphere, the service was really good with the two young ladies moving in and out with orders. Food was delicious and everyone was super friendly. The Tacos were smaller from what I'm used too, but they were super delicious so still give it 2 thumbs 👍🏼 👍🏼. Overall I recommend this spot if you're in the area. Thanks guys! Sorry, didn't take pictures, was too hungry. 😂
The best horchata and tacos al pastor I’ve ever had in the US! The food is like you’re really in Mexico!! The elote corn was fresh and flavorful! Would eat here again in a heartbeat. The tacos were served with different spicy sauces, pickled spicy red onions, and pico. The horchata was so amazing that I had to have another one to go. I’m already wishing I had another one right now! The outdoor seating was enjoyable with the breeze and fans even in the hot evening summer weather. A must try if you enjoy authentic Mexican food!
TL;DR: Fast, yummy food after a day of hiking. Good place to sit and eat. Tacos were about 2 bites at $3 a taco. Portion sizes weren’t the biggest but weren’t small. Would recommend it to a friend. Specific Foods: Tacos: 8.1/10 Enchiladas: 8.8/10 Corn: 1/10 Special Attention: Bring your own beer. General Wait Time for 1/2 dishes: 5-10 minutes Room For Improvement: Corn was not cooked properly. It was really hard to eat.
We went there on our first evening in the area. We found the setting and the food to be very good. I had the green chile chicken enchiladas. My son had a selection of tacos. As it was getting cool in the evening, we found the open air setting very pleasant.
We came here for dinner because starlight was full. It’s a decent alternative and we didn’t have to wait long. However the food wasn’t the best. Elote: The corn was very waxy, mushy and tasteless. The seasonings on top barely did anything. It’s probably the worst we’ve ever had. Beef Quesadilla: This dish has potential, the beef was really well seasoned. What I didn’t like about it is how watery the whole dish was. The bottom of my quesadilla became soaking wet and mushy. Platter of tacos: We ordered almost one of everything but our favourite has to be the fish tacos. Cargados: For $8, we were expecting more than just a half filled bag of chips with barely any toppings in it. From the picture you could see how empty the bag of chips is, we haven’t even touched it yet.
Everything in Terlingua Ghost Town is over rated. And this one too. The service is sloppy, inconsistent and unfriendly. One day they say seat yourself. Next day they would ask you wait to be seated. With no clear instructions at the entrance, it is mighty confusing. The food though is good (note: not excellent), pricey and portions are small. They do have a BYOB (Being Your Own Beer) concept - at least saves some $ buying beer. I would recommend eating elsewhere than come to fancied Ghost Town.
Never got drinks. Table of 8 that came in and ordered after us got everything before. Tacos didn’t come with onion, were overpriced for size, and tasted mediocre. Fajitas were okay.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I did not have the opportunity to eat at this place. My wife went in to restaurant and had a seat. My family of 6 were trailing behind. There were a few empty tables on a Monday at about 4pm. My wife had asked me if I liked the location of the table and I affirmed. Then out of nowhere this lady who was bussing the tables says, rudly, to my wife, " look, it's over here"...get out and she pointed to an A-frame sign which did read "wait to be seated." In my defense the A-frame could be interpreted different because the angle that my wife saw it from was from the direction we walked in which it said, "Please seat yourself". No big deal, but this lady was rude and said to get out. We clearly left the establishment after I told the lady there was no reason to be rude about it. Upon my exit, a few customers whispered to me and gave me a thumbs up and said glad you stood up for your family. She was rude. They may have good food but their service and customer service is sub-par. Invest your time and money where you will be treated with respect, I did and enjoyed it!
Went in starving and left hungry. I did keep in mind that this place is in the desert and there is not much of anything but the high prices mixed with almost no meat on my tacos or my husband's enchiladas was crazy. I regret not taking a photo. It would be easier to cook yourself. Would not recommend especially if you are very hungry like I was after being out all day.
