A couple of friends and I went for a late lunch, we ordered a carbonara pasta, steak (med rare), and the seafood pasta. They were so accommodating to the three of us! Menu changes everything! What great service. And, the food, especially the pasta (first time I've ordered pasta outside oven entirely Italian pasta place) was great. The waiter was kind enough to take our pictures, and although all three of us are a little quirky was so patient. Wonderful service. Great food. Ample free, safe, parking. Clean. Sat at the bar for lunch. I transport all over the country and stop at new places to eat and stay. Everything very clean and fresh. The Angus Chilli was so good I got 2 bowls to go as well. California burger was well seasoned, perfectly cooked and very juicy. Would definitely go back.

We had a fabulous experience, the Bartender Keller made us really yummy specialty cocktails. Joe in the front of the house was hands down one of the best I've ever experienced and our food was good too. The experience was so great because of the two employees. Cant wait to go back

Wow quality and quantity is great. Got the Mighty Moose and managed to finish half! The photo attached shows 2 over-easy eggs. This meal was insanely big, stacked and wide on a large plate. Underneath were biscuits, hashbrowns, country fried steak, some kind of veggie mixed with bacon. You have now been warned about the power of this dish.

Family favorite and family owned. Fabulous pasta, salads, sandwiches, hummus, Mediterranean plate, and dinner choices. Delicious bread. Excellent coffee. Nice side area that is sort of like covered patio. A variety of seating areas - tables, booths, etc. Can be noisy which can be a problem for folks with hearing loss or aids. Wonderful service.

Can't talk up the food here enough. Everything was exceptional! Service was great and everyone was very attentive/courteous. I must personally suggest the Chili Mac & Cheese- the perfect amount and absurdly delicious 💕 See pictures below for proof! Worth a stop if you find yourself in the area!

Celebrated my youngest daughter’s birthday here last night. Food and service were outstanding! My husband and I are in our 60’s and our server, Miguel, was easily one in our “Ten Best Servers in Our Lifetimes” list. Very professional and respectful, also very friendly and attentive, with a great sense of humor! In our opinion, you can’t go wrong when you dine at Jack’s!

American and international food options. Family owned with two locations. Food had great taste, we had the pot roast and meatloaf. Service was a little slow but delivered with good enthusiasm.

First time here!!! Made a stop here before my delayed flight for breakfast and I gotta say this place did not disappoint!! Our server Corrina was so sweet and inviting. The food was delicious! Jack’s has contemporary American food that is amazingly satisfying. Breakfast is stellar. They also offer a blue plate special at 4 o’clock to 6 o’clock. Amazing the bang you get for your buck. Looking forward to my next visit so many good things to eat. Highly recommend give it a try.

Ended up stopping here with my boyfriend as we passed through and I can't stop thinking about that delicious polenta cake I had there. I Highly recommend you try it. It was such a nice place to wonder into. The staff was friendly and My God that Polenta cake 😍😋

Our family of 6 arrived at 6:00 pm on a Sunday, and it was busy as expected. We were told we would have about a 30-minute wait. True to her word, Alexa fetched us at the 30-minute mark, and we were shown to our table. It was our first time at this restaurant, and we were pleased with the wide selection, and more pleased with the actual food itself. The only glitch was that it took about 10 minutes after seating for a waiter to take our order. Somehow Alexa got word of this, and a Mediterranean platter of hummus, pita slices, olives, & tzatziki sauce was delivered gratis. Watching how the staff cleaned & prepped tables as we waited for our food (a short wait indeed), I was impressed with their 'attack plan' for doing this. This restaurant served a lot of people in a short time, and we would go back in a heartbeat. Kudos to Alexa for her alertness & professional, helpful attitude. She actually seemed to care about our dining experience. Quite loud inside, mainly due to the bar area showing football on the TVs. If she were my employee, I would make sure she got a big bonus for going above & beyond.

Always so nice grabbing a bite here. The Eggs Benedict (spinach and artichoke) is really top notch. The blend of all the ingredients is superb. The omelette “Elena” was perfectly made with the taste of feta cheese coming through loud and clear. The service is fast and friendly. The over all ambiance is comforting and relaxed. Give this spot a shot. You will enjoy your meal here.

We have enjoyed Jack’s food for many years now. Great for either dining in or take out. Staff is always courteous and efficient, and the large menu makes it easy for every family member to find something they like. Large parking lot with plenty of parking.

Place is good. Lamb burger 🍔 is delicious. If manager or owner reads this, go to the kitchen and say to cook: “You are professional, you making people’s life better! I’m increasing your salary, because your awesome work makes people come back to this place!”. And give him a hug 🤗. Everything I ordered was delicious. Check pictures to feel the vibe. Only one negative thing: Glass of Margarita was full of ice 🧊, so basically this is a shot of margarita for $9.5 which is not good. I know some places where they serve huge jars of margarita for $4.

Always the best! We've had breakfast and lunch here many times and it's always delicious. Very reasonable prices and portions are great, and service is always fantastic.

Ate here on our layover in San Francisco. The food was delicious and large portions. Great atmosphere and staff. Daughter kid meal was spaghetti and huge meatball. I had the fried chicken on the early bird meals, highly recommended.

My friends and I had a really great experience here. The whole restaurant is clean and nice. They have a really big bar too with awesome drinks. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. The hosts greet you very nicely as soon as you walk in. We had an awesome waiter who was very attentive. Overall it was a great time. Everyone in the restaurant and bar seemed to be having a good time. Lots of smiles everywhere. Excellent experience. We went for lunch with the kids and it was perfect. The service is great, the place very cozy and the best, the food tasty and in the perfect spot. We ordered a New York Steak and loved it, it comes with veggies and chips. We will definitely be back more often.

Very crowded on Fridays but happy hour is a plus ..was lucky to hit before 5. Menu is good and offer delicious servings .Taste was awesome buffalo wings reminds of the barbeque I had in Nashville.

We've ordered from Jack's a few times now and it's always been excellent and fresh when delivered. One of the better burgers I've had in the area, onion rings and fries were great, chicken sandwich good, chicken marsala surprisingly good. We want to try more but why bother if what we're getting is so satisfying.

I am not Jack from Jack's Restaurant and Bar and us sharing the same name does not imply bias. I'm reviewing their drop-off catering service. Their restaurant is great too. I was super impressed with the service with the understanding that I only placed the order 2 days before the actual lunch. I've done catering in the past and I know it can be sketchy. Something is missing or the expectation is not the same as what you pay for. Someone just drops off everything in a bag and leaves it at the door. That's delivery and not catering. So I was super impressed that Samantha from the actual restaurant showed up to deliver and set up the food herself. Everything arrived hot and on time. I usually expect a careless driver, but to actually get staff from the restaurant to come and set up with care and attention. That's over the top great service. For all the Admins out there that need a place for those last-minute caterings in this post-pandemic world, Jack's got your back.

My coworkers and I visit Jacks once a month for lunch. We enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Everything is delicious and presented well. I also have to give praise to Liz our server. We sit in the exact same location every time we come and she has always helped us. She has an amazing attitude and is always making sure we have everything we need. And as long as she is around we will keep coming back!

Just finished a very good cheeseburger with salad . Cooked perfectly medium the way I asked. Super fresh green salad with good ranch. Others had a kids breakfast cause he still looks like a kid and club sandwich with garlic fries that were all enjoyed. Just one thing the burger was a bit thick so a bit messy but also juicy and grilled with good flavor. Noisy but good playlist eighties. I like Jack's - good little comfortable food place - not gourmet by any means but a nice place to go and have breakfast, brunch or lunch. No frills, just lots of good food with a lot of choice. Most of the time we've been there we've had great service - attentive, responsive and timely. The atmosphere is a bit "older" and "worn" but more than made up for by the food and service. The class definition of "comfort food" on the Peninsula.

Our first time dining in. Before we used to get taken outs. And we loved the friendly service. Shout out to our server Barry! We ordered the Happy hour nachos, Early Bird dinner: steak, blackened catfish and salmon and kid's burger, and creme brulee. Everything was delicious although I would recommend the vegetable medley to have more flavors with herbs. For the price, it's a great place to have dinner with the family.

Beautiful diner/ restaurant with a wide variety on their menu. They have a happy hour at the bar M-F as well. The portions are huge!!! Arrived for dinner on a weekday and We had the calamari to start and added fried jalapeño, it was crispy and delicious and so good. We ordered the burger with onion rings and the gyro with fries. The food was all good, but very oily so we can’t have it often. We had plenty of leftovers to bring home. Our server was extremely nice and helpful!! The interior of the restraunt is so beautiful and spacious. Plenty of parking.

Great experience! First time at a Jack's, and we were happy with the food, service, and ambience. Celebrated mother in law's birthday 🥳 and they were accomodating. We brought in our own dessert to serve after our meal, and they served it with a happy birthday song 🎵 from the staff! I ordered the Double Chicken breast entree, which came with vegetables & choice of either mashed potatoes or rice pliaf. I chose the mashed potatoes. Thr chicken was cooked well. It was tasty and moist. My wife had the Gyro with garlic fries 🍟 & it was really good! The fresh garlic was potent and the fries were hot & crispy. The prices were very reasonable for a casual restaurant. The place was filled with energy. The servers were awesome! Riccardo was really, really good. He was fast & attentive. We would definitely go back to celebrate a birthday!

The restaurant was spacious. The hospitality of the staff was welcoming and friendly. We were seated quickly to our table and our server was considerate. First, he offered to take orders of what we wanted for drinks first while we skimmed the menu. Then, after giving enough time to look through the extensive menu, he came back to take our orders. After hearing we would share our food, he said he would be back with extra plates for us. The food was as good. We ordered one basic 2x2x2, one Egg Benedict and one Lamb Burger. The portion was huge for us but they were all delicious. Our iced latte was also on point. Will come again!

First time there, and the restaurant looks nice, with a relaxed and calm atmosphere, without any loud music or screaming TVs. The food was delicious as well, and literally everything I order from the menu taste awesome. I arrived at 7pm on a Sunday evening, and the place was actually not too crowded. Parking is easy to find and free, since it's a big commercial area. Would definitely go again !

There's a reason why Jack's is busy during brunch hours on the weekends. Some of their bunch dishes are phenomenal. Our favorites are the corned beef hash $16 and might moose (country fried steak) $22. We also got calamari $15.50, garlic fries $8, Jack's omelette $16 and Mama Ellen's meatloaf $20. Those were all pretty good. The only bad dish was the garlic fries and were served to us cold. All of our entrees came out and they forgot it. It was probably sitting there at the kitchen and we had to ask about it. Fries are not good when it is cold.

The patio is very nice. Was not totally impressed with all food. Great place for appetizers we had calamari, wings, sm plate (literally) of garlic fries. Choc cake was very good not TOO sweet. Baklava tasty. Mac n cheese was tasty but main entrees definitely lacked a 5 star. My family ordered burgers, beef n lamb but not impressed. I ordered asian salad not impressed at all. We spend close to $400 for 6 a bit pricey. Would rtn for appetizers but i won't have main entrees.

Very busy but plenty of tables and seating. I was seated within a minute after walking through the door. Shortly after that, I had the menu, my coffee and orange juice. My server was friendly, showed lots hospitality. And was Johnny on the spot. As usual, I forgot to take the picture of my breakfast before it was half eaten. But I think with that you get the idea that it’s a pretty full surveying. The hash browns weren’t anything fancy they were probably previously frozen, flatten down on the grill and browned. The bar was well-stocked with a myriad of types of alcohols. Even at 10:30 on a Saturday morning the bartender was pretty busy mixing up the early morning cocktails. It’s definitely worth giving it a try if you’re in the area

Good food, reasonable pricing, decent service, very fast response time in preparing food. This building has seen a lot of different businesses over the years....and I suspect why. It has a large pyramid shaped shaped roof with large overhangs, which makes it dark and dreary inside. The building needs to be renovated, and possibly open up the roof to make it brighter.

Can get super crowded, but still service is fast and friendly. Lamb burger and house mac 'n cheese were delicious.

Great food, friendly staff and quick service. My girlfriend and I stopped by for a quick last minute bite before a concert and our orders came out quicker than expected. I loved my cucumber cocktail, garlic fries and coconut prawns.

Menu offers a diverse selection. So far everything has been pretty tasty. Recently had the chicken marsala which was very good but differs from a traditional Italian dish. Portions are hearty. Service was excellent. Prices are reasonable.

First time to this Jack's. They have a great selection on the menu, lots of things to choose from. It was busy but not too noisy. Service wasn't fast, but it was adequate. However, they brought me the wrong order on the first try. Didn't have to wait very long to get seated for four and parking was no problem. Food was pretty good once they got the order right.

One of my favorite comfort food places to eat. I frequent both this location in San Mateo and the one in San Bruno. I prefer the interior and ambience of the latter restaurant but parking there is challenging. The San Mateo restaurant is always busy as it's in a great location between S El Camino Real and Hwy 92 - easy to get to. The service has always been friendly and attentive. The servers chat you up and make you feel at home. Also, love that breakfast is served until 2pm! Our office came here to celebrate our coworker's birthday for lunch. We started with the Mediterranean Sampler - my favorite is the tzatziki. I had a cup of the avgolemono which is a lemony chicken and rice soup that takes me back to my days in Santorini. The birthday guy had the lamb burger which he said was flavorful and juicy. The other two each had entree salads, one of which was the Asian Chicken Salad (see picture). Another had the gluten-free cheese macaroni which I've had before but would recommend it as a side dish with something more savory to complement the cheesey pasta. I enjoyed my usual dish, the polenta and summer veggies. The garlic red sauce and cheese just oozes in between the polenta and vegetables. The portion size will never disappoint as you'll always have enough extra to take home.

We were in the area and decided to have breakfast at Jack's. This is a very popular restaurant so it was crowded and we didn't have reservations so you have to wait to get a table. Luckily, two people got up and left from the bar, so we grabbed the two seats. Ordered a Mimosa and Bloody Mary to start. We had the "The Standard " and chose two eggs, pork sausage, hash browns, and biscuits. We also ordered blueberry pancakes and a side of hash browns. Everything that we ate was really tasty and the service was good. Sitting at the bar, there's three TV's if you want to watch sports on the weekend.

We came here once for brunch and once for dinner. It gets quite busy during peak brunch time, but the restaurant is huge and we were seated very quickly. They have a huge menu with a Greek influence. I really enjoyed their gyros and lamb burger. Gyros had warm toasted pita bread which went really well with the meat and cucumber. The sauce was a perfect amount. Lamb burger is super flavorful and something I’ve never tried before. We followed the waiters suggestion on the recommended doneness and it was really good. Their breakfast hash is also a winner - perfectly crispy on one side and soft on the other. I got their strawberry cooler mocktail which was way too sweet and difficult to drink because they did not balance the sweetness with any other flavor.

This is frequently our ‘go to’ place when in San Mateo. The last two meal portions I had there were half of what the generally are. Prices have increased and it seems portions are like 1/2 orders. I’m hoping it was just a kitchen/chef error. Not worth the new prices if this is something new or recent. We still love the place but now place one order and split it if possible.

Over hyped, overpriced, underserved and undercooked pretty much capture this place perfectly. Really average. The calamari was kinda disgusting, overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. That's pretty much the same for everything, from my country fried steak to the hash browns, etc. Service was rushed and distracted. The space is very nice though. They do have an outdoor patio but the day we came the roof was leaking like crazy, so it wasn't open. We came here just to see what it's like, but will stick with Neal's for a reliable American breakfast/brunch.

The food is 5-6 out of 10. No thing special and exciting about this place. The calamari needs way more spices, taste like nothing.

Food is always great been here 6 times this year all was wonderful and a great servers and very attentive. This weekend had the most absolute worst experience as soon as the server came to the table a gross additude and was upset we didn’t have our order ready when he came to our table we sat down 2 minutes ago. We seen the servers additude and were hesitant in just leaving but we never had a bad experience from this place so we decided to stay. Once we got our food and drinks we had to wait 25 minutes for our next drinks but we had to call another server over to even order the drinks. Server never came back after our food and never checked on us. And had to call another server to pay we waited another 20 minutes we had the card on the table. Name of server Jesus. Such terrible service. Food was great tho 10/100

Italian Pasta : 6 out of 10 The pasta was okay but the sausage combined with the pasta was good. Overall it was a good dish. Lamp Chops : 4 out of 10 Presentation was terrible. Potatos were decent but the sauce was super sour. The lamb chops themselves were good but expected more for the price.

This restaurant was very insensitive to me and my husband. We got there and waited to be seated and when our table was ready they took us to a private room in the back and sat us at the corner as the only people of color there. We sat there for a few minutes as that room is used for parties and we were only two until our waiter Jose came and we asked to get a different seat which he sat us where everyone else was. The food was good and Jose was a good waiter just that little misstep.

I have been to Jack's many times. There was never a charge for upgrading to Swedish pancakes. The Indian waiter said oh upgrade was from 4 years ago. What a liar. I said I was just 2 months ago. Both the San Mateo and San Bruno branched have never charged for upgrading from the regular pancakes to the Swedish pancakes. When you order the combo.
