We have dined here many times over the past several years. This is one of the best local restaurants. The food is consistently great. Service has always been friendly and prompt. The portions are very generous. Be careful not to fill up on bread - you'll want to save room for dessert.

Our entire experience was absolutely phenominal, from the moment we walked in the door! Sabrina was our waitress, and could not have been more helpful, friendly, and super effecient!! The food was excellent, refills were provided before we actually finished the!!! first ones. Could not have had a better experience!! Overall, excellent!

I love this place. Food is great, staff is friendly. All western decor. Booths are comfy. The booths on the far side have high backs almost to ceiling. Wood tables. Great happy hour. Gets busy on weekends. We came at 6pm on Friday and only waited 15 min for a table for 2.

So much great tasting food. They have a separate gluten free menu so ask for it when you are seated. Their sauce is gluten free so all the meat dishes, steaks and ribs, are as well. The fries are not gluten free as they share the fryer with breaded items. I had the ribs and shrimp, others had the prime rib. All loved it. Many sides to choose from which are gluten free as well. I had the baked potato, but there was also corn, beans, cold slaw and many more.

Great food and service. Probably the best place for steak and BBQ in Thousand Oaks. Their steak is heavily marbled and super juicy. The sides are spiced well with great flavor.

Hadn't been to Bandits in a while, as usual it did not disappoint, great food n service a variety of options! The onion rings are the best I've ever had a must try. Overall a great place to eat highly recommend

It was the first time my husband and I tried this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent and service was great. Our server was especially good, checking in on us often. We will definitely be back. With so many restaurants to choose from, we picked a winner.

Cute place with great food. I got the Taco salad, delicious, while my friend got a giant burger! We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Service is good, just know you need to ask for the complimentary bread if you go for lunch, they automatically bring it when you go for dinner.

I really like this place. I hadn't visited here in years. There was plenty of free parking. The place looks great. Our server Bailey was very nice and accurate. The menu was interesting. I ordered the beef ribs and Cesar salad. The Cesar was very good. The beef ribs were the best I have had in years. Nice and beefy with a tasty sauce. I'll have to check back in next time I'm in town.

The food was phenomenal! Went for our anniversary and wanted to get something nice. We got the beef ribs and a steak. The price point works for our early professional and family budget and was a nice treat to celebrate with. Food takes some time to prepare, so make sure you're not in a rush, and the wait is worth it!

Food was excellent. I really enjoyed the pulled pork and the burger - I came back on two separate occasions. Fries were also great. I had take out and if you are not eating at the restaurant, I do not recommend the strawberry shortcake. The reason for this is because it came deconstructed and I literally had to put it together at home. It tasted fine but the experience was lost. I would recommend only having this dessert at the restaurant.

This place is quite a surprise! Service was great! I would definitely go here again. I ordered a salad and it tasted really good. We also celebrated a bday here and they even allowed us to have separate checks. A very convenient service that all restaurants should provide.

Bandits has great food. Try the prime rib sandwich, amazing. Also their onion rings, etc. The only downside is the loud music. People like to eat in peace and have a discussion, but when you can't hear what the person is saying across the table from you it makes it very disappointing. I wish they would change this. That is why I only gave two stars for atmosphere.

Bandits has always been one of my favorites. My friend and I ordered the BBQ Chicken Salad, and as always, it was fresh and delicious. The service has always been excellent. I am sorry to say that as an elder on a fixed income, I can't eat there very often. If the economy continues as it is, I won't be able to afford to go out to eat at all. I truly recommend that if you like good food, go to Bandits.

Very good food. Shared a burger and Roast Beef sandwich. Both were great. A little surprised the burger, although great, didn't seem to have a smoky flavor. Fries were Shoestring and were good but I'd rather have a larger fry. The staff was very friendly and attentive but not bothersome at all. They accommodating with any request we had. Can't wait to try some other menu items on our next visit.

Found Bandits on Google maps looking for a BBQ restaurant. The country music was a bit louder than it needed to be, but wasn't intrusive to conversation. When we visited several southern states this year I enjoyed sweet tea, which this restaurant DOESN'T offer, thus only 4 stars. They DID have fried pickles, another southern fav, which we ordered along with huge onion rings that were very crispy and crunchy, served with horseradish sauce. For our meal we shared baby back ribs and shrimp on a skewer. The ribs were fall off the bone tender with a subtle bbq sauce, the shrimp had a delicate seasoning that was delicious. We got baked beans and a potato sides, the beans were not the typical bbq beans and were quite good. We will def be coming back here next time we're in Thousand Oaks.

Every time I go to Bandits, I absolutely love the food. The appetizer came out soooo fast and the main course arrived at the perfect timing. Our server Nicole was such a doll. Nicole provided excellent service to my parents and I and she had such a fun personality. Amazing experience. I would rate more than five stars if google allowed the option.

My dinner, salmon, was fantastic and had the best flavor! We also enjoyed fried pickles and I absolutely fell in love!! Who knew? Not me but now I crave them all the time.

The combo tri tip is amazing, We have been coming here for over 25 years and believe it to be some of the Best BBQ is So Cal. My daughter insists on coming here every time we are close. Just discovered the strawberry shortcake with real biscuit and this is double scoop ice cream. Wow

Love coming here. The staff is always so kind and the service is usually attentive and fast. Drinks here are reasonably priced and well mixed. I’ve tried several items off the menu but that Unbeatable sandwich is exactly that. It’s unbelievably delicious. The garlic herb fries are always perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the mac and cheese is really tasty.

The food was overall very good. My friend's steak wasn't cooked right, and they fixed it right away, with 3 people coming by afterward to make sure it was better. Good environment for groups or families. I would recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I have been going to Bandits Grill and Bar for many years. The food and service have always been great. The new general manager Shannon is always friendly and smiling and makes sure the guests are well taken care of. Our favorite entree is the prime rib sandwich and we order it on the grilled garlic toast. It is so tender, juicy and flavorful. Really the best we have ever had anywhere. We give it 10 stars. We highly recommend this restaurant you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu. Like most popular restaurants sometimes there is a wait, but it’s worth waiting for.

we went here for dinner after shopping at kohls!! sadly we had to wait 25 mins but the dining experience was great!! summer, our waitress, was super friendly, i think she’s my favorite. i hope she’s doing well. my aunt ordered fish tacos, my mom ordered ribs and i got the crispy chicken sandwich! summer even gave us 2 lil duckies as a gift. we really hope shes doing well. as a cowgirl and western lover myself, i will definitely return here!

Discovered this place about half a year ago. Everytime there I get a new dish. Every time its perfect. Food is always ample and perfectly cooked, staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. Ribeye is amazing, both pork and beef ribs are meaty and cooked to perfection, tritip is perfect. Tritip loaded nachos are amazing. Mac and cheese is a gooyey cheesey goodness, colosal onion rings are so, so good. Tritip salad oh my god soo good.

The food was great; I enjoyed the rib eye steak, with mashed potatoes and veggies. I also enjoyed the tri-tip chili. Server Chloe was a real pro. 1st Timer here at Bandits Grill & Bar and WOW!, was it ever Awesome!! For starters, we chose to dine in the bar area due to arriving around 4:20pm. Happy Hour happens to be between 3-5pm on Saturday. See Menu in Photos for Happy Hour Times/Specials. Anyway, my counterpart for this meal, M2D2, has been here Countless times. In fact, when asked, 'If You could pick Anywhere to eat, where would you go?' Well, the choice was simple. From Malibu to T.O. we came and was it ever worth it! So we decided to order off the $5, $6, $7 and $8 Dollar Menu. It paid off Big Time!! Our 'Poison' of choice was the Lemon Drop Martinis. Typically a $12 drink, it was 50% off at Happy Hour. So essentially it was kind of like a Buy One Get One Free, sorta deal. For our Meal(s), we ordered the $5 Half Order of Onion Rings, which were cooked to Perfection! The $6 chicken wings. Unfortunately being a Chicken Wing Connoisseur, I can certainly say I've had Better. The $7 fish tacos, which I did question our waitress about, and she advised us that the fish inside was Salmon. I felt it tasted and had the texture of Tilapia, but either way, they were Spot On! Finally the $8 Prime Rib Sliders! I feel they just may get their Prime Rib from a little restaurant in Beverly Hills called Lawry's. The meat was tender and flavorful as Any Prime Rib I've ever had. As far as the reviewer 4377hn, who happens to have 1 (ONE) Total Google Review from about 2 months ago, their claim of salted food seems a little 'salty.' 🤭 There was No Over Saltiness in all of the meals we had. In fact, I almost added a little salt myself, but then I though IF my doctor happened to walk by, he would've given me the 'stink eye,' so I held off. No Vulgar language by any patrons, and certainly NOT by any employees. Our Waitress, Kayla H., was Positively Phenomenal! In fact, when we gave her our opinion of the chicken wings just being okay, Not Only did she apologize, she even offered to replace it with something else! How's that for Service? Needless to say, after that, and since we didn't finish the chicken wings, we most certainly had no choice but to order the Fresh Strawberry Shortcake! Bandits uses a Freshly Baked Biscuit, then they add ice cream, whipped cream, strawberries, and then top it off with strawberry puree and some powdered sugar. It was a Treat meant for a King and/or Queen! There is No Doubt in my mind that I'll be back Bandits. This is a Fantastically Solid Restaurant that deserves 5 Stars through and through!! They've got a Lifelong Customer Out of Me! 👊😉👊

I love this place. It's great for a big meal, but it's also convenient for a drink and a small meal, like sliders. Today, Wednesday, they have 33% wine, glass or bottle. It was amazing. My boyfriend had the jalapeno margarita and he loved it...check out the pics. I preferred the crispy chicken sliders to the cheeseburger sliders...what do you think?

Ahhhh Bandits!! I love this place. We started coming here about 2 years ago and it quickly became our staple in Thousand Oaks. Here's why: First off, I must declare that I used to run restaurants in NYC. So I have this problem of picking out all of the bad things about restaurants when I visit them. Call me a critic but whatever, I know good service and quality food when I see it. With that said, I am convinced that this place has some sort of magic. The staff: Super friendly and accommodating. We add like 3-4 modifications to all of our orders. (I know we are annoying). But they don't even blink an eye at it. They are always happy to see you and are really good at serving by making sure you have everything you need. The food runner Hector, always stops by our table to say hi : ) Kirby is an amazing waitress who will come visit us even if we aren't in her section as well as Edgar and a few others. They really are genuinely happy to see you, which is rare these days I feel. Thousand Oaks is a small town in the grand scheme of the world and it is fitting that when you visit here you get that sense of community. The servers have also been there for a while which is a tip of the cap to the management staff who run a well-oiled machine here. Shannon (mgr) stopped by the table tonight who is so down to earth and sweet. She took the time during a busy Friday night to talk with us tableside to get to know us better. Her family also owns a small business in town. The staff really take pride in their work here and it shows in the service. The food: First off, they source food locally and never freeze anything. Everything is made in house and you can definitely taste it. We have come on weekday afternoons, weekend nights when its packed and random times in between. I stick to a few staple choices and I swear they must have the same cook in the kitchen every single day of the week at all hours!! The food is always consistent with a "T". It is an anomaly in the restaurant industry as different cooks simply cook things just a wee bit different each time. it's not anyone's fault, it's just the industry. But here, I am simply baffled at how they remain so consistent on their recipes. I ordered the BBQ Chop Salad with Tri-Tip. I modify a little with no corn, no tortilla strips since I am sensitive to corn and extra onion strings on top (no charge ever). We also recently got the BBQ Combo where the chicken is probably the most tender I have gotten at a restaurant. And that includes other higher end BBQ places in Austin TX and fine dining places in NYC. The ribs are always leaving me wanting more. I recommend getting the yams as a side. Deeeeelish!!

My three sons and I went to Bandits Grill & Bar and it was a very enjoyable experience! The environment feels like a friendly saloon. Everything is wood and the light is low. There is a bar and a couple TVs above the bar. Everything looked clean. I really enjoyed that our booth was very private with a wall to ceiling separator between the neighboring booths. Our waiter was excellent. Very attentive without being overwhelming. Everyone was very friendly and I believe the owner or manager came over at the end of our meal to ask how everything was. As for the food, I did not care for the complimentary bread, but the meals were really good. Three adult entrees, a kids meal, and a brownie sundae for us to share was $105 including the tip.

Service was great at this restaurant. Standard cocktails and what I would describe as a no frills menu. I ordered the tri-tip plate medium with Mac and cheese. The meat had a great flavor it was just a bit tough in some spots. I ordered the 8oz cut which is very thick and would be difficult to cook. The Mac and cheese was quite thin, almost like a boxed Mac and cheese, I would definitely order a different side next time.

Our friends recommend this restaurant for its great steaks. My wife like her steak but mine was too fatty and rather flavorless. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. Anyone can get a bad steak on occasion. Just my opinion.. but the server should inquire when you leave 90 percent of your streak uneaten. That usually means there is an issue.

Great place to grab some takeout during shelter in place. Just polished off a rack of baby back ribs with my 15 y/o daughter. Very nice texture, great smoky flavor, tender but not too soft. Try the jerk sauce of you like some extra heat. Also recommend the sweet potato fries. Very crispy, good flavor.

Great service, good food, pleasent experience. As someone who's lived in the South for almost a decade, it is hard to find comparable BBQ. Bandits does a fair job. We will be eating there again. I was blown away by the excellent service we experienced. Our waitress was phenomenal! It is a but pricey but the plates are big and worth the value.

Can get loud in the bar, with a name like Bandits that is to be expected. The prime rib sliders are perfect for two to share. Add a side salad or soup/chili (very good chili) for $3.95. Steaks are cooked to your liking. I have never seen a complaint and have been there many times. Chili could be hotter (temperature). Overall, great place for all. Kids can scream if they want in the bar area.

This place is a little on the pricey side but the food and service is really good. We went there for a birthday dinner and everyone enjoyed themselves. The audience is fabulous. When you walk in you can see the kitchen and the chefs preparing the meals while you are waiting to be seated. There is a large bar area. the seating is large and comfortable.

Lunch was better than usual today. Had the ant-Salad Protein Salad. Really delicious! Others enjoyed their meal as well. Each indicated they would order their entree again. This place seems to stepping things up!

The music is too loud. The food is great! But, why charge extra for extra rolls if we were ordering a full meal? I understand for those who just come in an order a nonalcoholic beverage. But not guests who order a full dinner! I like the country music but it is TOO loud in the restaurant. We prefer the patio because of this, but it was too busy out there to seat us. Staff is very nice.

My wife and I split a rack of the baby back ribs it was very good. we had the regular barbecue sauce which is very tasty as well as the jerk sauce The Jerk Sauce was very good but quite peppery so just be advised. our service was good and we had a great time

I ordered the Tritips and shrimp, with mashed potatos and gravy, and corn. The tritips was cooked perfectly and the shrimps were excellent. But the mashed potatos and gravy were luke warm, and so was the corn. If I return to eat here again. I hope the food is better.

Food and service was amazing! Our waiter checked on us often, but not too often. The food came out piping hot and everything we had was delicious. I also had a sasparilla which was unique and very tasty. The dining floor was a bit crowded with tables a bit close together, but overall a great experience! Also the homemade strawberry shortcake was so amazing! Hands down one of the best desserts I've had.

I love the service and atmosphere here, but the food did not meet all the hype I heard from friends. I really have to express my appreciation for the service. I had a group of 27 people show up and they were willing to work with individual checks.

Bandits is always an easy place to go and get yummy food. Normally they serve a chicken posole, on the weekends- it’s my absolute favorite. That or the prime rib sandwich is amazing. This time we changed it up from our usual dishes. I started with the fried zucchini sticks because they are really good. I like other fried vegetable options you get, these zucchini sticks are thick and lightly coated to give it some crunch- it’s not just all breading with nothing inside. I then got the harvest salad and added chicken- I ate the whole thing. The mix of the fresh strawberries and apples with the chewiness of raisins and crunchiness of the pecans is a great combination. It also comes with a delicious dressing ! My friend got the salmon salad which he enjoyed very much. My brother got the “unbeatable” sandwich and enjoyed it. It came with meat and peppers and onions with cheese. His fiance got the harvest salad as well with a side of Mac n cheese. Not my first time here and definitely not my last. They also have a realllly good happy hour menu with great food and drink options!! Ate here again- prime rib sandwich is always amazing. My fiance gets it and adds cheese. I got my harvest salad again- the dressing is amazing. Also got a mock tail that was delicious. I think it was the “Cinderella”

Great tasting beef ribs, corn off the cob and Bandit's rice. I had a Knob Creek old fashioned, but was a little disappointed as it was not properly mixed. We went with friends and had a warm, friendly and attentive server. The food, service and ambiance made for a wonderful evening at a reasonable price.

Came in on a Sunday for lunch. Ordered a meat combo, which came out pretty fast. However, I was still starving after finishing the dish. So, for some reason, the serving size is not super large. Also tried chilly and dessert, both of these were very tasty. Overall, it was a very good visit.

Busy place tucked back near the car wash off the main road. I didn’t know this place was here but my wiser half did. The house salad was awesome with thousand island dressing that tasted homemade. The garlic rolls were hot and not too garlicky. I got the full slab of baby back and Mac n cheese. Loved the Mac n cheese. Was hoping the rib meat would fall off the bone but it did not. Still tasty though. He got the trip tip and shrimp. The shrimp are grilled and he liked them. The onion ring side was bomb. Great service too.

Lots of food. My mixed plate of jerk spiced pork ribs and shrimp was ok. Ribs Very tender and meaty but not much else going on with my sides. Beans were meh and the steamed veggies, just broccoli (i assumed it'd be medley of veggies) was a nice contrast to the tender rib meat and complimentary to the spongy snap texture of the shrimp. My daughters salmon salad looked incredible! She said it was really good. Big salad. Salmon appeared to be cooked perfectly. Ambiance is not really my style. Seems like smoke and mirrors to somewhat mask the fact that the food is average with the exception of that salad. This place is slightly above average IMO. I'd give it 3 5 stars if I could. If I eat here again I'm definitely going for the salmon salad.

Food was great!!! Asked for a seat near a window and a bit away from the crowd because our elderly parents are hard of hearing. Staff seemed a bit annoyed. Had to ask for menus instead of using QR codes (We live out of the area and phone service is spotty here and wouldnt load website) we received 2 paper menus and were told to share with others in our party because "they just throw them out after use ". I don't usually write bad reviews, but we were a bit disappointed in the general attitude of the staff. Maybe it was just a bad day for them all.

Alright, I'm going to explain this three star review. The first time I went there it was fantastic. The food , the waitress, the atmosphere, parking, got seated fast, everything was delightful. We came back with friends after talking about how good it was. We made reservations, we arrived on time but they asked us to split our party, not acceptable. Then we went to the bar to have drinks and wait, after a while we got seated in a cramped booth. The waiter took our order then came back after some time to let three of our party know that they were out of that selection. The waiter asked all of us to start over?? And so it goes, then our food comes, one in our group got the wrong order, so, it went back while the others ate. It was uncomfortable. We talked with someone possibly a manager about our situation, no joy, no compensation, just excuses. Then the desert came, the party only ordered one to share. We all thought for sure they'd comp that but nope full price for all meals, wine, drinks, and food. In the midst of all this one of our party provided a good deed to the staff and to other patrons while dining, this was well known to the reception staff. Not even a thank you,? I will say, it was a busy night, maybe they were short staffed, IDK. I will return to see if things improve, if so I will rewrite this review, hopefully it will be better. If things improve when I return I'll try a second and third and if everything is great I'll rectify this three star review. They have so much potential, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for good times.

Definitely felt rushed, which totally effects the experience in a negative way. The food was out extremely fast which makes me suspect it was already prepared. The chicken was really good and not dry at all. The baby back ribs were a little tough. Flavor of both were great. It will probably be a while before we are back though. "My manager is wanting me to cash out". Why is that my problem!?!?! It boggles my mind why my dining schedule is impacted by when the waiter has to clock in and out. I don't know why places can't figure out a better solution to this.

Food is good,but service is sub par. I had a reservation for 6, arrived 10 minutes early, and ended up with a table outside 45 minutes later. Don't have reservations on your website if you can't accommodate them.

The food was so bad tonight! We were a group of five, and we tried the Tri Tip Nachos, onion rings, pulled pork sliders, protein salad, and baked potato. All really underwhelming, especially the onion rings which are supposed to be great! Service sucked too! 😞

It was way to pricey for the portions of food and I thought my meal came with sides but it was a lobster tail no lemon and ribs like pasty the atmosphere is nice and cozy the waiter we had was no where to be found most the time there and I had to ask another waiter for services

The tmosphere is great however we used it go to the little bandits as they got bigger the food is nt all that for the price you pay I know was along time ago we used to go into the new one a lot but the food so nt the same and the prices are them just getting away with it. The chick is nt always cooked when to go I can be rubbery we always last few times cooked more at gm the tri tip we used to get tried again been awhile was dry if they have to bank in the sauce to make a good tri tip that is nt working. We got a picnic for two but sadly you get one potatoe and a choice two so each only get one side dish/ as said sadly that was a seventy dollar meal w garlic bread which wa soaked in butter way too Michu for garlic beard even if good flavor. So sadly we won’t be returning we have been bandits for over 25 yrs and salad has changed also they took away the items on it now just green for house salad this stinks but the dollars paid are nt worth the trip I often wonder why Camarillo closed its doors!!!!

I have only order takeout two times for clam chowder on Fridays because I love clam chowder. I ordered it the second time because I forgot how salty it was the first time. Well it was just as salty and refreshed my memory why I hadn’t ordered it for a while. It’s a shame because the soup would be so delicious with all the chunks of vegetables and clam but the excess salt ruins it and I find myself searching how to fix it with lemon or milk products. I have a problem with not being able to taste food but I would love love the clam chowder if only it were less salty and would order two big containers every Friday. Please please please fix it. P.S. The employees in takeout are always great!
