Amazing place! I have been to Japan several times and this is some of the best Sashimi and Sushi I have had in any land locked state! Will travel the hour from home anytime! It is well worth it. By the way, I took 5 people there for right around $100! Amazing price and worth every penny!

I do not like the whole Asian buffet thing, but this place is different. They are constantly changing out the food they don't let it sit there and rot. They have people who are always watching the food. The service is insane considering it is a buffet. The shushi here is not bad! I was expecting nothing but California rolls but no they have tuna, salmon, etc. They also have sashimi. It is also incredibly cheap for all you can eat shushi! I took my family of 7 and paid under $60.

We went for our first time this weekend and it was not disappointing! All of the food was fresh and really good! You name it, they had it! I piled a plate from the buffet and did the building your own Pho bowl. The broth did not have much flavor and was probably the only disappointing thing about the whole experience. But it’s not like they specialize in that style of cuisine, so they get a pass. Very affordable and may have just take the thrown as the best Chinese buffet, or best buffet period, in Topeka!

We went on the weekend when they have the seafood buffet and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Joy Wok is my absolute favorite Chinese buffet ANYWHERE! Every dish was fresh, well prepared, and bursting with delicious taste from start to finish. The staff was never standing still, always making sure diners had full drinks, fielding questions with knowledge and respect, sweeping floors and cleaning tables. The atmosphere was pleasant and even tho we waited just over 40 minutes I never felt as if I was tripping over other guests, which was an absolute wonderful experience. I give Joy Wok an excited 10/10 in every area and highly recommend you give them a try as well.

This was worth the wait. Lots to choose from and everything tasted good. For just opening, this place felt like the had been open for a while and and was running smoothly. The wait staff were all very friendly and attentive. This will be on a regular rotation for us. Highly recommend this place!!

Large selection of American Chinese staples along with a pho station, hibachi and sushi. Food was fresh and tasted great. Hibachi had a bit too much sauce but was still tasty. Large sitting area with attentive and friendly staff. Will return again.

What a nice surprise this place was. I’m always nervous about going to a Chinese buffet but a glutton for punishment… fortunately this was no punishment. The place was clean, well lit and comfortable to sit in. The temperature in the restaurant was just right. The server was in it. Empty plate. Gone. Need a refill? Bam! He was very attentive. The buffet seemed endless for a Topeka buffet. A huge variety of dishes and it was all fairly fresh. The food was pretty good. Some was delicious, some was average, but the sushi… nope. Didn’t like it. The sushi was the only thing I didn’t like… it was a little fishy The desserts were all good and there were several kinds but all very basic. Nothing made in-house… and I was really looking forward to some tapioca pudding. Not many Chinese bufferts don’t have tapioca but this is one of them. Overall, I’ll be back. I recommend! 👍🏼

This is a huge buffet! There is a big sushi bar, numerous Chinese meat, pork, and fish dishes, noodles, etc. Hibachi Grill. Some American selections like roast beef and potatoes. Lots of shrimp: cold boiled, grilled, butterflied, scampi. . As of December 2025 the price is $15.99 per person. Since it's all you can eat and the quality is good, I think it's a good bargain. . The atmosphere is a big and busy dining room so it's good for large groups and friends together ...but maybe not right for a quiet couples date night.

Very clean , got there as they were just setting up for dinner went with my kids, they had a variety of foods before dinner really started but the main course that I saw when dinner was going was they had Crab Legs, Frog legs, BBQ Ribs, Roast and many selections from sushi, pho, or hibachi. Had a good selection for kids food also but will probably go back during lunch time hours could not get to many live

As a fellow Allergy haver, I wouldn't recommend this place as they use 2-3 tongs for their sections of sushi and sashimi. So the tongs are being used for many different rolls and pieces of raw fish. I ended up having an allergic reaction due to this. I usually don't have to worry about that, as most buffets have separate tongs/utensils for every item. I still took a chance anyways, so I had my epi-pen and benadryl ready. The food was okay, when we arrived about 8:10pm some of the buffet was empty, but the one preparing the sushi kindly asked me if I wanted more and made more without hesitation! They have a lot to offer for their buffet. The sashima was on ice and the servers are great, they refill drinks, take away plates in a timely manner. Overall I was disappointed and the experience wasn't the greatest with an allergic reaction.

The food wasn't bad. There was a lot of grease in certain dishes which was a mess. The worst thing in my opinion was the noise level. It was SO loud, I couldn't carry on a conversation with my mother as we are both hard of hearing. Maybe some acoustic tiles or something to tone down the level of noise.

My adult son and I went here for Christmas dinner. It was a big let down. They had many empty food pans and the hibachi closed early. I had chicken that was pink and undercooked, lots of items were cold, the crab legs were very salty, the garlic bread was hard, the veggies were mushy, and the server didn’t speak English. I asked to talk to a manager and he as told that she was there but was sick and couldn’t talk. The lady who showed up in her place said she would take a discount off the bill. Then they brought the bill with a 10% discount($6), and then charged us $5.00 for two soft drink-we were drinking water. So then they took the bill and removed the soft drink charge AND THE DISCOUNT. Then we finally got back the correct bill-and they acted like we were an inconvenience. I would never go back there. Biggest waste of $60!!!!! When we left there were 3 ladies at the desk and none of them said a word to us.

Been there, done that. The Hibachi steak was pretty great—not amazing, just great—but everything else ranged from barely passable to positively disgusting. It was not worth $17.99 + tax for a Sunday buffet. It's wasn't even worth the lower weekday price. Sushi: flavorless. Chicken dishes: they all had flavor, just not good flavor. Hibachi vegetables: eh. Kimchi: disgusting, and I love kimchi. The only things besides the steak that had good flavor were things that came from a can, like the bananas in strawberry sauce, pineapple, or oranges. It was overall better than any of the restaurants with Panda in the name, but not universally, because some dishes were even worse. The servers were exceptionally sweet, though. That's a big plus. One of these days, I might get the Hibachi steak to go, with some fruit on the side, but that's it.
