This was delicious ! We got the pizza (just to try it and it would easily serve 3-4 people!), a mole poblano tamale, regular birria tacos and the steak tacos. All were delicious and well spiced ! Yum! So happy to have found you!
Ordered the Birria Pizzadilla and Birria Tacos for 4. We all agreed it was probably the best birria we've all had and would say the consume could literally be sold as a drink.
Consistently excellent Mexican food made with subtle, well-balanced takes on flavors and textures. It’s our go-to Mexican spot - even living in Albany!
Two words. The Birria Pizzadilla. Yes it is real. And yes it will change your life. Always love getting food from here, hope they stay in Troy for a long time!
Quick food, nice workers, cute decorations
The birria pizza is AMAZING. Literally the best thing ever. The steak burrito was your normal burrito nothing crazy but delish
Worth the 20 minute detour ! Got an order of birria tacos and they were so good we got an order to go!
Birria Pizzadilla. Their food here is so good! I have been wanting to order this and I finally did. Not disappointed. 10/10 would recommend.
Fantastic food, kind servers and great atmosphere. My favorite mexican around!

I love this place! This is our go-to Mexican spot. It's extremely authentic and everything is excellent. Their homemade chips are YUM.
Mex Cocina / La Catrina is a gem in the Capital Region! The food is authentic, flavorful, and delicious – the tacos and margaritas were top-notch. With the growing Latino community here, this restaurant is a much-needed spot where everyone can feel at home. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommend – I’ll definitely be back!
Perhaps the finest Oaxacan cuisine you'll find in upstate New York. From the quality of the food to the presentation and atmosphere, all top notch. Their mole dishes are exceptional, but so far my favorite are their birria dishes. There is nothing on the menu that hasn't been a delight to eat. Nice ambiance both indoors and out.
I had the chicken torta and it was out of this world. Great big sandwich and extremely flavorful, probably the best sandwich I've had in downtown Troy. The colorful decor helps this place feel a little more comfy than similar casual spots in town, I enjoyed my lunch.
Excellent service, and the food was delicious! You can tell they use quality ingredients. They are pet friendly and have a pup menu!! It was a great place for lunch and we were able to bring our dog inside during the winter cold - it really made our day as it's hard to find where to eat with a dog when outdoor seating is limited in the cold. I highly recommend you try this place! So good and decor, plating and other details were very well done
Dining in, the wait was short for a wonderful meal. We found everything perfectly seasoned, the flavors divine, and the portions generous. Highly recommend. The drinks, one mango and one like a Pina colada, were served in large glasses with an interesting savory fruit paste coating the straw, which was fun and flavored the drink subtly, in a delicious way. Very good. A fun atmosphere for an excellent meal.
Absolutely beautiful new place in the heart of historic downtown Troy, on the first floor of the impressive Cannon Building! The staff was lovely (helpful, friendly and informative), and the atmosphere was clean, festive (gorgeous Day of the Dead theme!) and all around so welcoming! Most importantly, the food was delicious. Authentic Mexican, hand made tortillas. I had the burrito with all the fixings and my dad got three tacos. The presentation was gorgeous and it all tasted perfect. Would go again! Five starts!! Such a great new place

I got the Huevos con Chorizo while at the Troy Farmers Market today. The eggs and chorizo were delicious. The torillas were freshly made and out of this world. This dish also comes with black beans, which I did not get as I don’t like black beans. Overall, the food was amazing and I can’t wait to try their chorizo and potato empanadas and much more. The staff that I interacted with were very kind.

Service was excellent. This place has wonderful, fresh food, thoughtfully presented. Great portions, plenty of meat. A colorful and artistically inspired atmosphere and THE BEST TORTILLA CHIPS I'VE EVER HAD. Prices very reasonable. Glad they don't have booze because it keeps the loud drinkers away.

We did not get what we ordered. However, everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly presented. The rice and beans sides were literally the best tasting rice and beans I've ever eaten. Perfection! Great atmosphere, delightful colors and mural. Love the Christmas trees. No changing table in the restroom!!! That's an issue for the new parents we were eating out with.

30min for 3 small tacos. Served multiple people before prior customers who ordered the same thing. Was excited and left extremely disappointed
Service was a joke during the Troy victorian stroll. Idk what they're like normally but the wait was ridiculous and the restaurant was not packed. The food was pricey for very little. The empanadas were mostly air inside. The Chicken one had zero flavor and the only flavor was the white sauce they drizzled over the top of it. Which was a surprise because I've never had an empanada with sauces already on it... I would have asked to skip that part if I knew ahead of time but it was the only flavor on the whole thing. The Guava & Cheese one was under cooked and almost burnt at the same time. The filling never melted or warmed. The cheese inside was shredded cheese still in the shredded form/texture and cold... The outside was crunchy and hard. That's all I asked for 2 empanadas, my order took almost an hour. And then the guy at the register did not speak Spanish and could not fully understand English and the girl serving the food only spoke Spanish. They basically communicated with hand signals... When the kitchen doors opened I saw 2 other employees on their phones. From what I saw the cooks were the only ones really getting anything done, coming out to direct the two in front on what to do and then going back to cook the food. No wonder it took so long. They need better staff so they can focus on cooking the food right. This was an event and they may be better when they're not overwhelmed and properly staffed. But I'll probably never find out. They did have live music and the girl singing was entertaining. So 2 stars for that.

I ordered the Mangonada and it was very watered down and had a very ripe mango flavor to it, there was hardly any tajin or Chamoy to it. Went home and added more tajin hoping that would've helped (it didn't). The Steak bowl was missing seasoning and taste, the portion size was also small for that prize and not enough steak. I was very excited when I saw a new Mexican spot opened up in Troy and was looking forward to supporting it, especially as it's a minority owned small business. Only the tres leche was good.
