Delicious meals with more than you can eat in one setting. I'm not Puerto Rican but my wife is and she also loved the food.
Delicious authentic Puerto Rican food.! Ate our dinner there. Nice friendly and clean Good service. Took some empanadas home.
Place is legit! Great service and food. We had a Cuban sandwich and Chicken w/ rice. Authentic and amazing food and service. Definitely will be coming back.
Loved it! Got the braised pork and rice platter and there was SO MUCH FOOD I could barely eat it all but it was so delicious. Don’t skip the plantains
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a good, flavorful, and diverse menu served up by kind, respectful, and friendly people. Let’s face it, Brunswick isn’t known for having a diverse menu, but this place ticks all the boxes for yummy, healthy food.
Everything was delicious!! Had the burrito and the chicken stew combo. Both were amazing and large portions. Will be coming back!
Incredible food and shop! My partners’ students swear by this place and those kids are not wrong! All the food was incredible and the arson up front was so nice!
Great taste. Is a small place. Just like 5 table inside, great parking lot, amazing staff
Just had their Monfongo and it was the best food I’ve had in Troy (including downtown). Awesome concept with an awesome in-store feel.
A little taste of Puerto Rico. Hidden Gem. Fantastic authentic Puerto Rican food.
Delicious food, I’ve eaten there 3x’s so far, & I’ll be back again soon!
New Location that is a must for you latin food lovers cooked by original Puerto Ricans....
Excellent food and friendly service. A food oasis in a fast food Brunswickian Desert.
A great varity of yummy Puerto Rican food.
Phenomenal. I cannot say enough about how amazing this food is.
AUTHENTIC!! AUTHENTIC!! If you’re looking for authentic Puerto Rican cuisine .. look no further! I have been looking forward to visiting Viejo San Juan and it did NOT disappoint! The portions were so big and the food tasted amazing!! Reminded me of my mom’s favorite recipes .. Salsa music playing in the background .. it was the real deal!! ❤️
This is my first time ever having Puerto Rican food and it is amazing. I got a combination platter of rice (arroz con grandules I think), steak and peppers, and plantains. The rice is the most flavorful rice I've ever had. It has little crisp bits and the texture of it is incredible. The steak and peppers were admittedly a little cold but still had some pretty good flavor. The plantains felt hot and fresh and juicy. I also got a pincho and that is also just really, really good. Peak food The atmosphere inside the restaurant is also really nice. I can't speak on it much as I don't know what Puerto Rican culture is like but it felt very homely and I could just tell a lot of love and care went into decorating the place.
It's like a quick trip to the island. You'll see hand crafted decor and hommage to places around the Island such as La Placita in Santurce and the surf board that reminds me of Domes Beach in Rincon. I got rice with gandules, fricasee of beef cubes with potatoes and yuca, it was fresh and delicious. Their mofongo is one of the best I've had.
The first visit and the shop is so welcoming. You can tell this is a family run business and they love to do what they do. Lots of interesting options but I ordered the combo with stewed beef. The rice, stew, beef, and plantains all hit the spot perfectly. I will be back often. Lots of in and outdoor seating, by the way.
It’s one of those places that you can eat everyday! Service, food, great. Tried the mofongo with carne frita, yummy, good flavor crunchy and tasty and to top it off a great tres leches… now, back to the treadmill!!!
Absolutely delicious!! Great service and love the grocery part...now I know where to go for traditional ingredients I have trouble finding!!
Cubano was better than in Miami. The Mofongo beat the ones i got last time I was in San Juan. Sooo good..battle rhe traffic and go up Hoosick St!!
Delicious food and desserts. specially the mofongo. Great service and environment
Great food and a nice slice of Puerto Rico that's local!! Highly recommend! They also deliver via GrubHub! Sweet!
I was absolutely gobsmacked by how great this was, don't ignore this little resturant tucked on the side of the road! It's just got the vibes of love and care oozing out of every corner❤️
Had the burrifongo. A mix of a burrito with chcicken monfongo- it was delicious.

I am so happy that my partner and I finally stopped and made the decision to eat here. There aren’t many places that truly sell authentic Puerto Rican food. After my Puerto Rican grandmother passed away, there is a lot less Spanish-speaking in my household, and though my family has tried to uphold her legacy in the kitchen, they will never be her. When I eat here, I feel like the food does my heritage and my grandma justice. The atmosphere looks like old San Juan. Spanish music is quietly playing in the background and the smell of the food is heavenly. My partner and I have so far tried two pastillios (or empanadas in my household😉) - the beef and the chicken. They’re addicting. They are very large and extremely filling. I was also surprised to see that they sold bacalaitos. Not many places do and the flavor is phenomenal here. We have also tried the barbecue chicken on a stick. Happy last minute decision! The rice, though may look dryer than what I’m used to, is packed with flavor. Of course, you always have to end the meal with the delicious dessert. I got the last tres leches today in the fridge - bless. There were no crumbs left behind. I wish I could learn more about the owners! The female seems quiet and reserved and I haven’t met the male in the kitchen, but I hope to learn more the more they do!
The Cubano sandwich was out of this world for lunch! They have a great selection of drinks in the fridge you won't find anywhere nearby, as well as a variety of snacks and foods in the market shelves. Looking forward to trying more things from their menu!
Nice, clean location. It was 4 of us, everyone was very happy with they meals. Will definitely visit again. The chef 👨🍳 is definitely Latino. Food is the best in Capital District for Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 food.
I am not Puerto Rican, and this was my first experience with Puerto Rican cuisine. Home cooked, you can tell the time that goes into making these dishes. The combination lunches and dinners are excellent and of course try the mofungo /burrifongo. If you have had Cuban/Mexican cuisine it is similar but it has its unique flavors and textures that are wonderful.
If you are looking for delicious and authentic Puerto Rican food , this is the place for you! I enjoyed everything I had. Make sure you are thoroughly hungry when you arrive, because the portions are plentiful. Staff members are very nice and accommodating too . I highly recommend Viejo San Juan restaurant in Troy, NY. !!
Authentic Puerto Rican Cuisine!!! This new restaurant is small but the flavor isn't !! You want to know what Abuela's and Abuelo's food taste like, check this spot out. Nice portions for the price, friendly and welcoming staff will have you coming back for sure if the food doesn't steal your heart first!
So happy to see a PR restaurant open near me. There are only a couple in the Captial region. Place is so beautiful. Reminds me of when I visit the motherland. Food is always fresh, delicious, and is mami approved!

Lovely place, food was delicious, a bit greasy but still great, portion sizes were large, great for takeout. The two people working were very polite.
Very good place to eat, the only thing is the portion sizes vary due to what containers they have and price stays the same..one time you get a larger container and the next is small
Very casual restaurant. Food was tasty. I had a cheese and guava little empanada and a side of rice and beans. The rice and beans were bland. The chicken stew and burrito were enjoyed.

The food was not very good. It was OK.
Very bland version of Puerto Rican food , rice had no flavor. Where is the adobo and spice?,Portion size is the smallest I’ve seen in the area with a Jacked up price that you have to choose because you can only get one size. The man was nice that I placed my food with the Caucasian woman was a bit rude. If you’re looking for authentic go to Albany.
