This was an outstanding dinner! We went in for a birthday dinner and the service was amazing. Josh was our waiter and he was incredibly helpful. He walked us through the menu and told us what to get and what to stray away from. We ended up getting the calamari that had this sweet chili sauce and I would have never picked it myself but I'm so glad Josh told us to! We got a ribeye, crab cakes, lobster mashed potatoes, and the French onion soup!! I could not recommend more. Make sure you ask for Josh when you go!
The only word to describe the experience is superb. Our server was personable as well as extremly knowledgeable on the menue. The food was cooked to perfection and every single person made us feel welcomed. Loved every second of this special night we were able to experience at Sullivan's. Shout out to managment for making the night so excellent
Our family of 5 were there Jan 7 to celebrate our twins 22nd birthday. Everyone had an amazing time. Our server, Sierra, was full of recommendations and never disappointed us. Shout out to the bartender and chefs as well. Our drinks 🍸, we're made perfectly and everyone's steaks were prepared as requested. Some of the items we had were....Dirty Bird Martini, Knockout Martini, a smoked old fashion, which I forgot the name, Crab stuffed shrimp, Prime NY with garlic shrimp topper, Prime Ribeye, Cajun Ribeye with garlic shrimp topper, Filet, Oscar style. We also had several appetizers and soups prior to the entrees. All on all, it was a terrific evening and we'll definitely be back. You'll notice that the Crab stuffed shrimp were burnt on the bottom, but my daughter asked we not say anything at dinner, as she was still able to eat the majority of each shrimp and didn't want to cause a fuss.
July 20th, 2024 Indulging in the Australia Wagyu Tomahawk ribeyes with Lobster at Sullivan was an unforgettable experience. Each bite of the incredibly tender meat paired exquisitely with a robust red wine, enhancing every flavor note. Our server, Andrey, provided impeccable service with a friendly demeanor, ensuring my solo date night flowed seamlessly. Concluding the evening with a steaming cup of coffee and their renowned banana pudding topped with creamy Vanilla Ice cream was the perfect finale to an exceptional dining adventure. ************** July 13, 2024 Enjoying a romantic evening at Sullivan was a delightful experience, highlighted by their exquisite Lamb Chops that were cooked to perfection, exuding an irresistible aroma that captivated my senses. Maureen, my attentive and sweet server, provided excellent recommendations, enhancing my dining journey. The night culminated with a decadent creme brulee that left a lingering sweetness, making it a perfect ending to a charming date night with myself.
Josh P. was an amazing server. We went here for the first time, and it was terrific. It is on the pricey side, but I had the filet mignon with pork belly and blue cheese topper and it was delicious. It was cooked perfectly, the cheesesteak eggrolls were as good as Josh had said they’d be. The food does take a rather long time to come out, but it was worth the wait, and we left full.
If you’re in the Tucson area, and you like steak, Sullivans is the place for fine dining and amazing cuts of meat. They are on par with Stockyards in Phoenix and I’d dare say a bit better. The cowboy cut ribeye was out of this world, cooked to perfection (they truly know how to cook a medium rare steak) and downright delicious! The Caesar salad with fresh anchovies and a glass of Caymus set the stage for the best dining experience I’ve had in Tucson. Think steak44 without all the pomp😉.
We showed up later in the afternoon, late for lunch, early for dinner. We had the entire place to ourselves. We were seated right away and were offered to order off either the lunch or dinner menus. We really appreciated that. Our server was super fast and made even this meal feel really special with fresh flowers, menu recommendations, and excellent service. I had the rack of lamb and my wife the filet. The lamb was great! The mint chimichurri really complemented the flavor of the meat that was prepared so well.
We've tried just about every other fine steakhouse in Tucson proper, and keep returning to Sullivan's. Food is reliably very good to outstanding (I'm a fan of the Cajun ribeye), and service has always been hospitable and accommodating. Ps. Kudos to Jenna and Josh for help on separate occasions. Pps Ate all of our steak, so you get a photo of the carrot cake 🥕
My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at Sullivan yesterday evening and we were sat with an amazing waiter JOSH! His service was amazing, he made the night so memorable, he was super attentive, made sure EVERYTHING was to our liking, they had everything set up beautifully for us! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience on such an important night.
I am a fan of Sullivans being a Chicago native and definitely a foodie. We tried the sushi, and i suggested that they remove those from their menu if they are premade. The manager took time to talk to me and my lovely daughter, which I really appreciate. She brought us the cheesesteak egg rolls, which were really good. We enjoyed our steaks, which were cooked perfectly as well as our mashed potatoes and spinach. Our server, Alicia, was quite lovely and very attentive. It was very quiet since we came during lunch hours. I will definitely come back
My hubby and I love this place and we'd eat here every meal if we could! It's fantastic! The staff are kind and attentive. The food tastes amazing and the portion sizes are perfect. Also they can help a lot with gluten free options by customizing their foods! The music is always good and the atmosphere is relaxing. There is a dress code though so be sure you dress nicely!
We celebrated dinner last night at Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Tucson and had an outstanding experience. The food and atmosphere were excellent, but what truly made the evening memorable was our waiter, Bruce. He provided phenomenal service from start to finish. Bruce was attentive and personable without ever being overbearing. He anticipated our needs, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect throughout the night. Thank you, Bruce, for making our celebration so special. We will definitely return and highly recommend Sullivan’s to anyone looking for a first-class dining experience in Tucson.
I had tried as much as I could and may have...overwhelmed myself. Beef Wellington bites were good but my favorite would have to go to the Cheesecake Eggrolls for the appetizers. The pork belly was delicious. I ended up ordering the Shrimp and Lobster Bisque and Ribeye. The bisque was a little on the salty side but I didn't mind. I was missing it after I was done, I'd suggest a bowl if you're a fan. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and delicious as well. I'm not a desert fan but the key line pie was tasty with a sharp sweetness bite to it.
Sullivans is a gem. I can only rave about the great quality of their atmosphere and service! The food…from drinks to dessert is top notch I had a wedge salad with the best blue cheese dressing I can remember. The beef Wellington bites were mouthwatering. They served a freshly baked loaf of bread that was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Key lime pie for dessert was the right amount of tartness. We will be visiting as often as possible. If in the Tucson vicinity you will do yourself a favor if you visit Sullivans 💕
Nico went above and beyond from start to finish. He was incredibly friendly, attentive without being overbearing, and made sure every detail of our Anniversary dinner was perfect. From great recommendations to thoughtful touches, he made us feel truly taken care of. Exceptional service that made the whole experience even better!
It was our first time here. We came to celebrate my brother’s birthday. The staff were wonderful including our server, his name is Nico. He explained everything on the menu to us including the unavailable food options. Our food came out fast. The general manager also came by and introduced himself and made sure we were having a nice experience. Everything was so delicious from our starters to our main course and our desserts.
We had a fantastic first-time experience at Sullivans. It was our 31st anniversary and we came for dinner. Luis G was our waiter---excellent waiter. He completely took care of us. Darren, the manager, came by often and was utterly accommodating. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back.
We celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary and had exceptional service by Alec. We loved the special of wagyu tomahawk, 2 lobster tails and bottle of wine for $199. A great deal and food was delicious. We also ordered the peanut butter pie which was amazing!! Appreciated when the General Manager Matt came to check in on us. A very special time for a special occasion. Plan to come back for happy hour specials.
Sullivan's used to be "our" place in Denver, until it closed a number of years ago. We were so happy to find one in Tucson. Josh was an amazing server. It was my birthday and, unfortunately my husband wasn't feeling well so we ate only apps and salads. Josh made us feel right at home and didn't pressure us into full meals or drinks. It was perfect. He then brought me dessert and gave us the most incredible recommendations for brunch the next morning. A+ all around. Thank you
Valentines weekend. A million reservations. A quarter of Tucson (or so it seemed) came to the foothills this rainy night-but the amazing staff handled it like the fine dining establishment they are. They lived up to their 5 star reputation despite being slammed on a busy holiday. Food was phenomenal and service was impeccable. The super sweet hostesses even helped me decorate my table to help make the occasion special for my little ones. We love our special night outs at Sullivan’s.
The best steak I've had In Tucson! What truly elevated our experience, however, was the outstanding service from our waiter, Nick. Nick was a master of his craft—attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely happy to make our evening special. He offered excellent recommendations, ensured our glasses were always full, and perfectly timed each course. His attention to detail and friendly demeanor made us feel like VIPs. To top it all off, they presented us with a complimentary dessert for our anniversary it was divine which was a lovely touch. We left feeling satisfied and cared for. We highly recommend Sullivan's Steakhouse for any special occasion, and be sure to ask for Nick to get the full five-star treatment! We can't wait to return.
Sullivan's is a great place. Very welcoming and the bar ambience is great. It's one of few places in Tucson that serves great oysters and ice-cold martinis. The hosts are super and a special recognition to Matthew for going above and beyond to make sure the patrons get exceptional service.
We came to Sullivans without a reservation, and the staff worked really hard to get us in anyway. Our server was Alec and if you want a great dining experience, I strongly recommend Alec. He’s fast friendly and super professional. Looking forward to coming back.
We had a fantastic experience at the steakhouse! Our server, Josh, was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. He checked in often without being intrusive and gave great recommendations on both steaks and wine and drinks . Thanks to Josh, our meal was even more enjoyable. Highly recommend asking for him if you visit!
Absolutely incredible. Will be one of the best dining experiences of your life. Go for the Tomahawk meal, it's worth every penny! Staff is wonderful, warm, accommodating.
Excellent customer service from the hostess and the wait staff. Food was excellent! The steak and the salmon were cooked to perfection. They personalize for special occasions. A very nice touch! We'll be back!
From the beginning right up until we have left Josh was amazing. Very detailed, kind, funny and knowledgeable. Provided great recommendations. We came in for our anniversary and he made our experience feel special. Thank you Josh!
My friends and I met for happy hour. We sat on the patio and enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. Christa was an amazing server and gave us good recommendations including the beef Wellington and sliders.
Our team recently hosted a work dinner with clients at Sullivan's and working with Jackie and the entire team was great! From the set up for our large party, menu selection, and service our entire party had a wonderful time. One client at dinner had a birthday that day and Jackie and the staff helped provide him a birthday card, group photo and special dessert! We will be back!
Attended a surprise bday party. Food was excellent in a private section. Service attentive, even with people changing seats and children running around. Very willing to describe items and offer recommendations. Would definitely recommend for events Homey atmosphere Appetizers and sides (mac&cheese, scalloped potatoes)served family style. We had delicious salmon and tender filet. Hosted event, so I don't know the price. Desserts were cheesecake and Chocolate cake. Both were top notch.
Our server Josh was amazing. One of the best dining experiences in my life. His personality was charming and his jokes made my wife and I smile and laugh. The recommendations on the drinks and appetizers were precise and perfect. Josh is truly one of a kind and one of the top reasons I’ll be back! Thanks Josh!!!!
We celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary at Sullivan's. My husband ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Bisque, Ribeye Steak, and Garlic Mashed Potatoes. I ordered the Roasted Rack of lamb, Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The food was more than excellent. The meat was cooked to perfection. My husband gave me a bite of his steak. Oh my goodness, it was the best I have ever tasted. The flavors of the food were so good. Although the Steak and Lamb both came with sauce, there was no need for it, because both the lamb and steak had so much flavor that nothing more was needed. The server who served us was great. She was there for us, every time we needed something. It was a perfect place to celebrate.
We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner here last night. Food and all service people were excellent inspite of the huge crowd. Front desk people who were being hassled on all sides never lost their smiles and even got us a quiet table in the Library so I could hear. Our waiter Josh was amazing with helpful hints, and he frequently checked in inspite of having to take care of so many tables! The managers also stopped by to talk. The holiday special of ribeye and lobster and a special wine the chefs created for two was soooo good. We had a wonderful evening and give many thanks to the people who gave up their time for us this holiday.
Excellent food and outstanding service! We had wonderful dinner at Sullivan’s Stake-house in Tucson. The food was excellent- perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Our waiter Joshua, was friendly, cheerful, and took great care of us throughout the evening. This is exactly the level of service and quality you expect from high-end restaurant. We’ll definitely back.
I went to a gathering with friends for Christmas and had a really good time. The food was really great. The drinks were proper and we had our own area that was private. Everyone really enjoyed their food and the atmosphere was very welcoming and warm. The cost is a bit high but if you can swing it once in a blue moon it's worth it.
Hailey was spot on in her attention and service. The filet mignon was perfect, so tender. The lobster risotto was excellent. Will be a place to come every other week. General Manager Mat was very funny and nice
Our server Josh was a wonderful guy. Walked us through the menu, congratulated me and my girlfriend on our anniversary and was over all very watchful over our needs. 5 stars
From start to finish, our experience at Sullivan’s Steakhouse was nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, the food executed with precision, and the service — led by our outstanding server, Josh — truly elevated the evening into something special. Josh’s professionalism, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made all the difference. He had a remarkable balance of sophistication and friendliness — offering expert recommendations, timing each course flawlessly, and anticipating every need before we even had to ask. His knowledge of the menu and wine pairings reflected the kind of expertise you’d expect from a fine-dining establishment, yet his approachable personality kept the entire experience relaxed and enjoyable. As for the food, every dish was impeccable. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sides complemented the meal wonderfully, and the desserts were indulgent in all the right ways. Every bite reinforced that Sullivan’s is a place that takes pride in quality, consistency, and craftsmanship. It’s rare to find a dining experience that feels this complete — where ambiance, cuisine, and service all reach the same high standard. Josh truly went above and beyond, turning a great dinner into an unforgettable night. Sullivan’s Steakhouse has absolutely earned a top spot on our list, and Josh deserves every bit of recognition for his incredible service. A flawless evening worth repeating.
Un lugar encantador
comida muy rica
Excelencia gastronómica
We loved our anniversary dinner here at Sullivan's. The Filet Mignon and the Cajun Ribeye were delicious. Our waiter Sean (?) was extremely attentive and gave incredible suggestions. Not only was the interior beautiful, the patio had a gorgeous view of the sunset and a stunning array of plants and succulents. Even the bees were friendly ! 🐝🌸
Josh is an amazing server! He gave excellent recommendations and stayed on top of everything throughout the meal. His attention to detail and knowledge of the menu made the experience even better. The food was fantastic, and his service truly elevated the entire visit. Highly recommend asking for Josh if you want great food and outstanding service!
Delicioso !! Y muy buen servicio
Mmm....estan reabriendo con ciertos errores
Excelente
The quality here has declined a bit, may be due to the pandemic. We had a larger group (12) celebration here in a separate area and ended up staying four (4) hours because the service was delayed from the drinks to the meals. The food is still good quality and although the servers did ask us to verify the steaks were cooked to perfection, no one wanted to send theirs back and wait longer, mostly overcooked steaks cooked to medium well from medium. I recall the first few times I ate here, I felt like I was getting an experience with the attentive wait staff, while paying the price for it. I'm not sure it's still worth that cost. Their bathrooms could also use an upgrade; one sink didn't work at all and the others were water stained and clearly dated. One of our servers was fantastic. And although they informed us regularly that the food and drinks were delayed, the other server seemed annoyed that we were there for that long, again not our fault, as well as a bit impatient by having to split our bill. It's 2021, people split bills.
I think we were given bad information by the hostess. We ask what is the latest we can arrive to have a dinner at a table/booth. We were told 10pm and we arrived at 9:45. Things seemed off because we can sense the hostility by some of the staff but the we being polite. Example: The waiter mentioned that there was a mix up and poor communication when he arrived to take our order. All our food was cooked perfectly. Even tho I question the lobster mash potatoes because it seemed thrown together. I am thinking it is because of our late arrival. This place is expensive but it is a high end restaurant. I do plan to go back but I'll be ready to drop $300. I want to have the experience we should have had.
Our first time at Sullivan's and we were celebrating our anniversary. The atmosphere was great. Not too dark as is with many steakhouses and a lively atmosphere of music coming from the bar area. The front of the house was welcoming. Our server seemed a little irritated (at other customers) but was friendly enough, though available much mainly attending to certain tables. The general manager was friendly and was very attentive ensuring tables were cleared (he cleared them),.and guests had what they needed. The food was pretty good though not the best steak and lobster I've eaten especially given the cost of the food. The prices at Sullivan's are quite high but I guess most steakhouses are, especially these days.
We are visiting Tucson and came here after doing a search for best steak. The food is outstanding. It was our first time eating A5 wagyu and it was exceptional. Unlike any other beef I’ve ever eaten. The seasoning was divine. Mac and cheese was creamy and delicious, and the peanut butter pie was so good I almost cried! The beef Wellington bites are large. They were just okay for me. Service was attentive, prompt, and considerate. My one complaint - we asked for wine recommendations, and the server asked for our price range. I said $150. I had two I was considering, but he said someone else had the Wagyu earlier in the week and had a wine they paired with it they said went really well. He pointed to it on the menu - I saw it, saw $75 and thought it was a steal. When the bill came, it was not the $75 bottle. It was the bottle underneath that was $255, well above the $150 limit I had indicated. Maybe I’m a conspiracy theorist, but it seemed underhanded. He scanned the wine list for several minutes looking for it. Pointing vaguely at a bottle in our price range but “actually” pointing at the much more expensive one (the lines are small and close together). So the bill was $180 more than we expected. I didn’t complain because we drank the wine and it was good, but it left a bit of a sour feeling at the end. I can’t help but wonder if all that “scanning” of the menu was looking for a cheaper wine right next to a more expensive wine. I hate to think that way, but he knew our limit was $150. Other than that, everything was exceptional. I’d go again but I’d select my own wine or I would ask the server to tell me the exact name of the wine they were suggesting
If you’re looking to woo a date without having to check your credit score mid-appetizer, Sullivan’s Steakhouse is a solid bet. The service is sharp, the food is great, and the atmosphere is just dark enough to hide the fact that you’re wearing your "fancy" socks with the holes in them. While the "value" is usually a bit of a debate, they have a secret weapon: the $199 combo. This deal is the ultimate culinary distraction. It comes with a Tomahawk steak the size of a medieval weapon, a lobster tail that actually tastes like the ocean and not a rubber band, and a bottle of wine to wash down any lingering life regrets. Honestly, by the time you’re halfway through that bottle of wine and staring down a literal mountain of beef, you’ll completely forget any deficiencies the night might have had. Did the valet take too long? Who cares. Is the music a little loud? Can't hear you over the sound of this butter-drenched lobster. It’s the perfect spot for an evening date where the goal is to leave full, happy, and slightly buzzed. The 199 combo is the only way to go
Went to see what the hype is all about. High end prices unless you do fix menu. Felt like a cruise ship dining room. Not sure the prices are worth it. More of just special occasion. 16 dollars for a glass of wine is a bit steep.
Josh was an excellent server, I remember the food being better. Probably going to the keg in oro valley next time instead, sorry Josh you were very good at your job would give you 5 🌟
Muy bonito lugar con una atmósfera muy tranquila y amena pero muy tarda dos para servir y nos llegó la sopa de cebolla fría!
I would have loved to give Sullivan’s 5 stars but I couldn’t due to the waitress who I will leave unnamed. Very inattentive and rude. She rarely returned and when she did she was inconvenienced. Apparently she was also the bartender and on that I give 5 stars. Maybe I should have sat at the bar? I dealt with a second inattentive waitress as well. The manager stopped by and chatted about his expectations at his establishment & to contact him if I wasn’t completely satisfied which I did. I was warned from others this was the case but that I should try the food/drinks. In closing, if you’d like to try their excellent drinks/app but don’t care about service, this is your spot!
Went here for our anniversary and the staff was great. The ambience is good; however a few things need some work. My wife side of the booth was torn, I think if this is presented as high end restaurant you shouldn't have torn booths. Second the ahi tuna appetizer was excellent, which made me look forward to the main meal, however my ribeye and my wife's salmon didn't have much flavor. The ribeye was cooked a perfect medium but no seasoning. The steak came with some type of au jus, but I really wish the flavor was just with the steak. Salt and pepper, it's pretty simple. My wife's boiled salmon also wasn't seasoned, not sure that was the intent. Cocktails were great and I also enjoyed the wedge salad.
Excited to go to Sullivan's for our 45th Anniversary dinner. The space is still beautiful, dark woods, and quality decor, but their attention to detail and customer service have definitely fallen off. "Proper Attire Required" is on the front door. It used to mean coat and tie for men and ladies in dresses, then sport coats and slacks, then slacks and collared shirts, it now means T shirts and ball caps. Disappointing. Our reservation was at 6:30, and the table LED candles were finally lit around 7 pm. We waited 5 minutes for the hostess to arrive at her station. Our waiter was very nice, but even he disappeared for a while. At the end of our meal, while finishing our wine, the dirty plates weren't cleared. Other than a short "congratulations " from our waiter, there was nothing else for our anniversary. On a good note, the food was amazing. The kitchen is still great! I'll be trying another steak restaurant before I return to Sullivan's.
Stopped in for happy hour at the bar. Upon entry we were asked if we had a reservation, but we saw not a single sole inside. She advised us bar was open seating. Our bartender was friendly and efficient. He gave us time to look over the menu. They only have beer on tap so this isn't your spot if looking for craft. I ordered margaritas with patron. So smooth and delicious. We decided on beef Wellington and the shrimp cocktail for appetizers Unfortunately both were underwhelming. I felt like I was eating hamburger helper with bread around it. Yes I said that . The shrimp cocktail was dry and almost tough like. There were a few TVs in the bar area so it gave it a little less stuffy vibe. All in all this place just wasn't our scene. Three stars for the bartender and great margarita. For the price I just thought it would’ve been great.
Steaks were good but not great, which was a bit disappointing for the price. Cuts were high quality and generous, but not as tender as a ribeye can be, nor as flavorful. A little extra salt would have helped.
This is my 2nd visit here, first one was much better. Came here for a special occasion and overall was kind of satisfied unfortunately. The food was good not great and the steak was perfectly cooked. The sides were also good but nothing special. This place was not busy at all for dinner service and we sat very close to the kitchen. You can hear the back of the house talking about someone and being vulgar. The service was great for the first 10 minutes then really fell off after that surprisingly as they were dead. The bathroom had no hand soap and the manager was notified. The restaurant itself needs a makeover due to being very outdated. I don't believe I'll be back for another meal here...they were so close.
I've been to Sullivan's before, but today was for Thanksgiving - all I can say is NEVER EVER again! The main attraction was the menu, "hand-carved roasted turkey"! Only to be severely disappointed when anything but was served - large slices from some turkey concoction sliced roll. BUT NOT hand-carved roasted turkey. What a deception. 3 stars is a gift considering the above and below. 1 - we waited for our salad course only to have someone other than the assigned server bring two plates of the main course, NOT the anticipated salads. We had to coax the server to take the entrees away as we wanted the salads first. DUH. 2 - after the salads two overly HOT entree plates were brought out. The plates were so HOT I could not turn it without burning myself. I would guess they were the original entrees that had been left somewhere to stay HOT! 3 - again, the hand-carved roasted turkey was not. Either the stuffing or gravy was overly salted, I couldn't tell which. And who gives vegetable side choices of brussel sprouts or asparagus. The asparagus was mediocre. 4 - last was dessert. The cheesecake was alright, but it was covered with some sauce that tasted horrible. Pumpkin based? Bitter! The key lime pie for the uninitiated was very misrepresentative of what key lime pie usually is.
We came here after dinner for dessert and drinks. Ended up sitting in the bar area and waiting at least 15 minutes for service. The bar looks a little tired and worn out, definitely in need of a face lift. When we received our dessert it was frozen through and inedible. The only saving grace was the bartender was very sweet and accommodating. There were too many patrons for her to adequately take care of so staffing was an issue. Overall not a great experience.
This was our first time eating at Sullivan's and expected a better experience for the price point. We were not tended to until about 15 minutes after being seated, and even people who were seated after us were being given water and bread. A waiter seen us about to talk to someone and asked if we have been tended to, and we said no. He was very kind and recovered from that situation. Most of the food was great, but the only guaranteed item that I get at any steakhouse was dry. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly, but was oddly dry. I had my husband try it to verify and he had the same thoughts. My husband said his bone-in ribeye was dry also, except he had his an oscar style topping that helped with that. We were also celebrating a birthday, which was confirmed when we arrived. There was no type of acknowledgement at the table as we have experienced at many other restaurants. The drinks, lamb, calamari, and sides were all good. This all being said, we will not be back due to this experience.
We were pleasantly surprised walking into Sullivan’s. The atmosphere is a classic, chic setting with big band music and pictures depicting the company’s history-perfect for a steakhouse. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Our plates arrived in a timely manner. However, we ordered salads, Seabass, chicken, lobster, Mac, and brussels sprouts. In writing this review, neither myself nor my partner could think of one aspect of the food that we thought was good or worth the price. If you are accustomed to eating at some of the steakhouses in Phoenix, you will be significantly disappointed if you are trying this restaurant in comparison.
This was our first time and last time at this restaurant. We ordered online the Fare For Five and picked it up. The food was thrown together. The salmon looks like the frozen salmon we buy from the grocery store and cook at home. It did not look or taste like the salmon from a restaurant. The egg rolls were unrecognizable. The salad was placed in three separate boxes. The food was overpriced and ordinary. There was nothing fancy about this meal for the price. It did not even come with bread and butter. I do not recommend this restaurant.
We come here every Christmas Eve and normally have a great experience. This year was different. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and wasn't very attentive as we waited a long time for drinks and the manager eventually had to get our drinks. We ordered an appetizer and the waitress never put it in so we never got it. When the food came the steaks were overcooked and the asparagus was cold. We waited almost an hour for our food and as mentioned earlier, we waited along time between drinks and when the manager brought out the drinks one of them was the wrong drink. We may have to find a different place to eat for Christmas Eve dinner as a family.
Very disappointing. Wedge salad with thin blue cheese dressing with little crumbles and tasteless shoddily cut bacon. Worst I have ever had. Steak came out cooked well but clearly had been sitting and was lukewarm and not much warmer after sent back. Too bad had the potential to be very good if served appropriately warm. Crabs and rice served cold. Sent back and returned to table. Tasteless poorly prepared side for sure. Bread was average but warm. Appetizer of cauliflower bites was ok. Service was very good. Only high point. Overall a $330 waste of time dinner for two. Having eaten at many fine steakhouses from Shula’s, Metropolitan Grill, Gallagher’s and many other chains as Ruth Chris, Fleming’s and Houston’s…This was a very disappointing night out and meal.
Ouch. My husband and I came here for our ten-year anniversary, excited for a fancy dinner, but we left completely disappointed. This place is extremely overrated and overpriced. We started with the Shanghai calamari, supposedly a signature appetizer, but it was mediocre at best—and to our surprise, it even had French fries mixed in. A dish at this price point shouldn’t come with unexpected fries. For the main course, my husband ordered a steak and requested it medium. The server warned that medium was “pretty red,” so he clarified that he wanted it slightly red instead. Unfortunately, they completely overcooked it, and it ended up dry. I ordered half a pound of crab legs, and I regret not asking the price beforehand. Turns out, half a pound equates to one crab leg cut into three pieces—for a whopping $67! Absolutely outrageous. The best part of the meal? The bread and butter. My cocktail was decent, but that’s about it. Did we make a scene? No, that’s just not who we are. It’s not that everything was awful, but for the prices they charge, the food should be far better. We skipped dessert because we already knew it wouldn’t be worth it. Overall, it was disappointing—especially for a special occasion like our anniversary. We had high expectations for our first visit, but unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.
Ate at Sullivan‘s tonight…made a reservation in advance. Have never eaten here before so wanted to try it out. Honestly I couldn’t have been more disappointed. The server was super sweet and kind but that was about the only good thing of the entire experience. Ordered two drinks from the menu, they were absolutely terrible. I ordered their salmon and a side, the salmon was severely dry and overcooked and how essentially zero flavor, even the vegetables that were included were overcooked and super dry and doused in oil. The mashed potatoes tasted like I could’ve got them at a buffet or Chili’s down the street. The appetizer were some egg-rolls that easily could have been replicated at PF Changs across the street. My friend also said their drinks were not tasteful. We paid over $180 for two people, and the food was awful and the drinks were lackluster. I’m all for paying appropriate money for establishments that hold high standards and provide you with food that you couldn’t otherwise make at home, but this food was a one out of five at best.. There is no way I will be returning to Sullivan’s. I did my due diligence and read some reviews and a handful of them were very negative recently. Yet I still decided to give this place a shot but the negative reviews are absolutely correct. The food was gross and I felt I was completely ripped off. Besides the service being kind and quick and having good conversation, the food and drink experience were literally one of the worst fine experiences I’ve ever had for the price I paid.
Came here for my daughter’s Birthday. Food was mediocre at best. Steak was overly dry even when ordered medium, taste wasn’t there, ordered with goat cheese butter was non-existent. Do NOT order the lobster Mac&cheese, was watery not cheesy. Mashed Patatoes was the best dish, too bad it was cold. Asparagus risotto was ok. Caesar salad was nothing special. Overall I wouldn’t be back. OVERLY EXPENSIVE for the quality of food. Wouldn’t be back.
This was our first time visiting the restaurant, and unfortunately, it was not a great experience. We had an issue with our reservation upon arrival, but eventually were seated. After sitting down, we waited 45 minutes without being acknowledged by any staff member. While one gentleman did apologize, the rest of the servers and staff would look at us and then walk away without offering assistance. It was especially frustrating to see a group that was seated next to us receive service right away while we continued to wait. The lack of attention and communication really impacted our overall experience. I had hoped this would become a place we’d return to, but based on this visit, I wouldn’t recommend it at this time.
I came in tonight with my wife to celebrate our 5-year anniversary & waited for about 5 minutes at the host stand, only to be ignored. During that time, 3 employees from the bar area physically walked past us while 2 more in the main dining area looked at us and kept working. I get that they close soon, but ignoring potential customers is not okay. Someone could have at least acknowledged us & went to find a host(ess). We decided to leave & go somewhere else no one seemed to care . While these employees actions may not be be indicative of the establishment as a whole, there was a lack of oversight & a failure on management, as I’m sure this isn’t the first time these employees have done this. If this is the quality of service we received upon initial entry, I can’t imagine how the rest of the night would have gone. Overall, I don’t ever plan to dine here nor will I ever recommend anyone come here.
I was there with mom & brother on February 15th. We had one of the worst waitresses we've ever had. She was slower than molasses. Everything took much longer than necessary. What should have been 60- 90 minutes took way longer. We spent over 2 hours there. The restaurant wasn't super crowded. Other tables near us came in after us & left before us. We've been going to this restaurant for years & never had this kind of service.
The waiters here were amazing and that’s about it. Beef Wellington bites were just ground beef with a puff pastry. Ordered medium rare steak and the steak came out blue rare and had to send it back which I have never had to do before. Baked potato was cold. Lobster Mac n cheese felt like it was reheated with cold lobster sprinkled on top. We watched multiple plates be sent back to the kitchen. And watched multiple people having to talk to the manager- one couple even just left refusing to order more food. For a $60 steak I shouldn’t have to send it back. And a $300 tab felt wasted.
I want to start by saying that your restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and beautiful vibe. We had been looking forward to visiting since moving here six months ago. Unfortunately, what should have been a special evening turned into a very disappointing experience. From the moment we walked in, the tone was off. The front-of-house host lacked a welcoming greeting and came across as rude and disorganized. It was not the warm first impression we expected. We visited on 2/12/26 to celebrate both our anniversary and an early Valentine’s Day. We even requested to sit away from the crowds to make the evening more intimate. As medical professionals, taking an early evening off together is rare and meaningful, so we were truly looking forward to it. We understand that restaurants get busy, especially near Valentine’s Day. However, it was clear our waitress was completely overwhelmed. Rather than supporting her with additional help, management appeared to continue seating her without assistance. Our first round of drinks arrived with bread roughly 45 minutes after being seated. We chose not to complain and tried to enjoy the evening. We ordered appetizers shortly after, but nearly two hours passed without food. When our waitress returned, she informed us that our order was still nowhere near ready. At that point, the frustration began to outweigh the experience. I calmly asked to close out our tab. She offered to get a manager, and I agreed. Within five minutes, our entire meal — appetizers and entrées — suddenly arrived all at once. Unfortunately, the steak was burnt and cold, and the sea bass was also cold. It felt rushed and poorly executed. We never saw a manager. Instead, we were presented with a complimentary tart on a $200 tab, which did not address the core issues of the evening. This was meant to be a special celebration for us, and sadly, it was our first and likely last visit. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, not just for future guests, but also for your staff who clearly needed support that evening. Sincerely, Dr. Rey Garcia
This was the worst restaurant me and my husband have ever been to. We just celebrated our anniversary and wanted a beautiful atmosphere with our meal and to feel special. Unfortunately that did not happen. My husband got the dry aged tomahawk steak that was a fraction of what the size was listed in the menu. I got the lobster Thermidor which was very small for the price, salty and little to no lobster. The only good part of our experience was the waitress who was very friendly and attentive. It also got quite noisy with the workers talking and laughing in the background. We were literally the only people there. This was outrageous for the price and mediocre food. My advice save your money and find a better restaurant for your special occasion.
.mucho frio
Paying $380 for two people, I was expecting an exceptional experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I've been to many steakhouses, and honestly, I've had better food at LongHorn. The food took around 40 minutes or more to arrive, and when it finally did, it was disappointing. The ribeye was dry, the sides were very basic with nothing memorable, and overall the flavors were underwhelming. Dessert was the worst part of the experience. The cheesecake tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge for days-dry and unappetizing. The whipped cream didn't taste fresh, and there were no fresh strawberries, just pale and sad-looking garnishes. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. For the price, I expected something truly delicious and well-executed, but this was easily a 4 out of 10.
