It is still the best restaurant in the region. We love it.
We visited this place for the first time today, with friends who had recommended it. What a lovely experience! The staff were polite, friendly and Rafel made us feel relaxed. The restaurant was almost fully booked on a Tuesday afternoon, so it's advisable to reserve a table. We enjoyed the food, good quality, large portions, well presented. We would highly recommend it
Visited for lunch on a Sunday. Food and drink choices are comprehensive. All the food was presented very well and very tasty. Service was, at times, a little slow, but the restaurant was full. On the plus side, nobody was trying to rush us. The atmosphere was excellent. Very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Had lunch with old friends at Rafel. Fabulous food - we all had the day menu which at €12 was amazing value. I had baked rice to start - heavenly- then lovely fresh haddock and finished with Creme Catalana. Cannot remember when I enjoyed a meal so much! To top it all off, the owner brought over a selection of after dinner drinks which he left for us to help ourselves. Highly recommend.

Rafel in Pego, Spain is the definition of hidden gem. We looked for somewhere to eat between Alicante and Valencia and I saw the reviews so we gave it a try. Thank God for paying attention to Google reviews. The only thing possibly better than the food was the service. The staff is amazing. What a great dining experience.
Good portions, great food quality and service.
Wow what a great restaurant in the town of Pego!!! Me and my family went here for lunch while visiting Pego for the day. We got to meet the owner and his son and they were so incredibly nice to us!! We got many different tapas and the arroz con crosta that was typical of Pego. This restaurant is not to be missed if visiting!!!
As a complete tourist, this was the highlight of dining experiences during our visit to Spain. Immediately when seated, it was an experience straight out of any episode of "Chef's Table". I cannot stress that statement enough. Reasonable locale with a loud, noisy and joyful atmosphere, staff running around keeping the diners satisfied. Traditional and local food that I would rate above 10 in flavours and quality. Overall, this was not simply a visit to a restaurant, this qualifies as an amazing "Dining Experience", on many levels.
Very fancy tasty food, a bit pricey but it is worth it, many different types of regional dishes, rices, fish, meet, veggies you can't order wrong everything is awesome, the service is great, very friendly atmosphere good attention to detail, we came today for the first time and we will come back soon
Nice enough. Calamari starter was a delicious, huge plate. Glad we shared it. The lamb chops were OK, a bit greasy for my liking, no vegetables come with it. The desserts were amazing, the coffee mousse actually tasted like coffee. Take lots of money
By a coincidence we entered this restaurant just to have a drink. But while sitting here we saw the food and got hungry. OMG the food is great!!!! If you are in the neighbourhood do yourselves a favour and eat something here!
Amazing rice! Amazing everything! We have lived here for 25 years and this is one of our favorite places now! Highly recommend!
Lovely restaurant with a great selection of menus as well as la carta. Good value for money with attentive and friendly staff. Booking recommended, especially Sundays, it was packed!
Went to Pego lunchtime on Sunday, whole town appeared closed. Found Rafels by accident and had fabulous lunch. Very reasonably priced. Definitely return.
Lovely food, once settled the staff were really good. Just took a little while for them to get us a place to sit
Very cozy place. Traditional food and large portions. Nothing fancy but very good value for money. A lot of locals having lunch there.
Food was good, prices a little high, but I am a person who appreciates small gestures. So when they put a candle on my dessert for my 65th, I was touched. They spoilt it by charging me for a shot of good malt whisky, when the waitress had told me I'd be invited. P.S. no one else on our table of 7 was having shots.
