Toshi’s great, his food is great. I recommend the Miguel Angel roll. The interior is very small but very open. If you get the chance to really talk to him you’ll find he’s a great guy to chat with.

This place may be small but it is amazing!! Such a warm and welcoming environment. I've been here multiple times with friends and family and everyone has left saying that Toshi is just the sweetest. He's an amazing chef that can do wacky, crazy rolls and the more traditional nigiri. He's often makes some new and interesting mochi dessert for my friends and I to try, which is always outstanding. You may have to wait a little because it's just him, but the wait is totally worth the quality and love put into the food. 12/10 will come back!!

Wonderful little hole in the wall with a friendly owner with great quality fish at a really great price. The type of place that has loyal regulars that probably keep coming back as their go-to standby. It's open until ten, so It'll definitely be the place I visit whenever I'm in the area.

Toshi puts an extreme amount of love and care into his sushi. He lightly hums and sings while working and it’s a delight to be in his company. The sushi is always fresh and every time my wife and I eat here we wonder why we ever go anywhere else! Don’t hesitate to give it a try.

Toshi is a cute older Japanese man, and he's so friendly and cute! He even brought us fruit we didn't order afterwards. This place is excellent! I hope I get to go back, I feel l have a nice Japanese grandfather eating here.

A true hidden gem in North Hollywood. We were turned on to Chef Toshi by some close friends of ours who used to frequent his other sushi shop on Ventura. When we discovered he was around the corner from our home we so ecstatic. It seems like a good majority of his business comes from take-out. But my wife and I love sitting at the small bar and getting the 'chef special'. Which is all of his wonderful sushi creations. He does offer some great sushi specials, but we usually opt for the chef specials.

The dining room is very homely and personal, so dont be expecting to be blown away with your initial impression. However Its very clear why toshi has such a loyal customer base once you get your first plate. My personal favorite is the 'Toshi roll' and I would recommend it to any first timers. The unagi (baked eel) is very impressive too.

Great little sushi bar run by a kind man. Went there in the middle of the day and it was empty. The owner was hilarious and said he prefers 1-2 people in there at a time so he can focus on them. The service was a little slow but I didn’t mind because it was fresh and made by the owner.
