I love going here. The staff is super friendly !!! Everything I have tried on the menu is tasty. This is my secret hideaway
Nice atmosphere friendly staff. Met the owner she was very nice. Oh and the iced mocha was excellent too. 😊
Love everything about Standard Pour. Everything is delicious on the menu. The Pistachio Chocolate Rose Latte is my favorite.
Nice place , they are great with customers, food is tasty , I didn't even try but my sons (25,23 and 17 years old) loved if their loved is enough for me.
Amazing coffee, great spot helpful friendly staff. Worth the 15 min trip from our house. Will be back often
Excellent Americano and cheddar + dill scone. Very friendly and helpful service. We will return!
Best latte I have had in a long time! Relaxed environment with really friendly staff. Highly recommend
I come her for the turkey panini sandwich which is delicious. The also have an assortment of grilled cheese sandwiches that are very good. Lastly, the atmosphere makes you fell like your in Williamsburg or Bedford Stuyvesant, or Bushwick Brooklyn. Bring ya laptop and ya charger order ya coffee, espresso, cappuccino, etc....and study or get ya work done.
Espresso is very tasty, and the avocado toast with salmon and capers was delicious. This place is aesthetically pleasing, and quiet enough where you can come in and work on your laptop in peace.
Great coffee, food was incredible and dope atmosphere...best Shrimp & Grits in Long Island hands down - French Toast was phenomenal as well. Would def recommend!!
What a wonderful spot to drop in for specialty drinks, snacks, light meals. Customer service was welcoming. Quiet ambiance. I will be back to try the brunch and again for the evening eats.
The ambience is relaxing and welcoming. I enjoy the smiles and pleasantries from the staff. The food is beyond words and is made to order. I thoroughly enjoy my experience every time I go there.
The Jerk Chicken Cobb salad is superb. Friends with me enjoyed the Avocado toast, the turkey panini and the grilled cheese. Highly recommend!
The iced pear raspberry green tea has become my favorite! The veggie panini is also super good. Will def come back again!
I love this place! Good food and ambience. Riley was so helpful and resourceful. I highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese sandwich as well as the Cobb sandwich.
I frequent this place. The vibe… amazing! It’s a cute date spot and doubles up as a perfect study date location as well. Coffee is strong. You will be UP
It’s a family owned business, the owners are so nice & hard working. They have a nice brunch and it’s just a great local spot in the community
A splendid experience. Came in had the best matcha to date, met the Queen of Elmont and made a friend. Amazing.
Stopped in to grab a coffee, really nice atmosphere. Tasty drinks and great staff. Will be returning for a meal.
Great Latte, wish had more fresh made food. Has 2 bathrooms for customers. Different type of sitting area.
I have been going here for a while now and they never fail to deliver delicious meals. Today I having a waffle and it is wonderful.
I got the pistachio milk chocolate rose latte and the spiced pear latte and it was amazing!! They also have a latte based on Trinidad's ponche de creme which I plan to try next time! Very pretty interior and the owner is lovely
I love this spot and I will gladly be back. If I moved out of state and came back to NY just to visit, I’d still take the time to come here. Staff is warm, welcoming, and amiable, the coffee is A1, food is stellar, and the atmosphere is second to none. Edit: As it turns out, there’s a real and important reason why Standard Pour doesn’t *currently* make espresso/espresso-based drinks after 6pm. It’s because they do an exceptionally thorough job at cleaning and maintaining the espresso machine they use and only trust their baristas to do it. So, fair enough is what I say. I’m sure that the summer will change that, as will the eventuality of live events/cultural events that this spot has been traditionally known for.
It’s next level in every way. The drinks they prepare are like art. Delicious and original. The expertise of the barista makes ordering a fun experience. The food is always exquisite. The vibe is a great mix of cozy and organized where you can chill and/ or work comfortably. Love love love!!
Good staff, fresh coffee, nice menu options, never a real wait so far...a few tables set up, spaced out ..felt comfortable...parking is metered outside, free parking around the corner..used to be SIP THIS on Rockaway Ave. Valley Stream to. Only neg. No loyalty cards yet, also an app. to load a credit or debit card as to be able to order and then pay on the app....little by little, all in all 5 stars in my opinion
Almost hesitant to leave this review because I’d hate for this place to become “mainstream” and lose its feel and culture but I can’t stress enough how special this place is! The attention to detail is second to none. Really happy to have a space with the proper representation and vibe. The customer service, ambiance, music, food, dish-ware, restrooms, decor… and the list goes on, was well thought out and curated for a perfect place to have meetings, study, or just enjoy a drink for conversation. Thanks to the owners for creating this space 💯🙌🏿
My absolute favorite place to work from. The food is amazing, drinks are fantastic and the music is always spot on! The staff are awesome and service is top notch. I always wish it was closer to where I live but I genuinely do not mind traveling out my way to support this business! 10 Stars
Always a pleasure to come by! The avocado toast and lemonade mint are my go to’s! I love the atmosphere, staff and of course the food/drinks. The owners are the sweetest women you’d ever meet! They’ve got a customer for life!
Excellent coffee and food! The veggie frittata is to dddiiiiieeeee for. I’ve been here both for takeaway and order-in while doing laptop work, and the quality has been superb. The staff is so friendly and creates a welcoming vibe as soon as you walk in. Love the energy of this coffee shop and am so pleased it’s in the neighborhood!
Quality coffee with tons of drink options. The food can really steal the show. Everything I’ve had here has been thoughtful and hearty. My current fav is the jerk salmon sandwich with a fried egg on top. Great to have a spot in the area where I can come and do work
Fantastic specialty drinks - the spiced pear latte and pistachio rose was great. The single.origin drip was nice - ethiopian bean. Happy to have some actually specialty coffee in the area and the owners are very kind. Will be back often!
Standard Pour is an amazing spot to relax with great music, get some much needed work done, sketch/draw, read, meet friends for a coffee or a glass of wine etc. The possibilities are endless! Love it here! If you haven't yet checked it out, you must! If you're like me and it can be tough to get work done at home, this place is a great option!
This is a wonderful hang out spot in Valley Stream. The ambiance is friendly and welcoming. Support your neighborhood Coffee shops. My suggestion would be to add some snacks Chips, Peanuts perhaps some cracker and cheese. A wonderful place visit soon.
Came here for a nice little rest and relaxation during my break. A cute cozy spot to get some work done. They have a lot of artisanal teas if you're not a coffee drinker, quaint food options that are served to you, and comfortable atmospheric seating. Great selection of soft lofi rap/r&b mix. Incredibly soothing. If I could give it a 10/10 I would but unfortunately Google limits it to 5 stars.
This place is such a gem! I absolutely love the amazing food, tea and latte menu. The staff go above and beyond to not only deliver the most delicious drinks and food but to connect with their customers. This place is NEXT LEVEL awesome. I am so happy i found Standard Pour ❤️
My fiancé and I visited Standard Pour last week and we will be returning next week with friends. We decided to try something different and we were not disappointed. The pear, blue cheese and arugula flat bread was amazing. We also tried some wings and the shrimp and they were very good as well. The server/ bartender and the owner were friendly and attentive. We appreciated being served as we understand that this is a cafe and not a restaurant. Love the decor and vibe, can’t wait to make it to some of the special events as well, especially wine bingo.
I came here to leave a positive review because I have been to Standard Pour several times and have always had a pleasant experience. They have a few unique coffee options particularly the pistachio rose latte. They also have a great brunch. I happened to see two previous negative comments in which I believe I was actually there when the instance took place about a month or so ago. The two female patrons who were not happy about their food were telling other patrons not to order. I found this to be extremely off-putting and in bad taste especially since the owner was trying to accommodate these rather difficult individuals. Please go and try this place out for yourself. It’s a much needed addition to the VS area.
5 stars!! in the middle of eating breakfast and had to stop and write a review! first of all the lady working (possibly the owner) was so sweet! we took a long time to get there after we ordered our food and she offered to remake our coffees! the bacon egg and cheese sandwich is amazingggggg and the coffees amazing too. will be back !!!
I was treated to brunch by someone who strives to support black/brown owned businesses. The place is quaint and the staff is friendly. Both of us chose the chicken and waffle meal and we enjoyed it. Beverages do not come with free refills. I had a 16 oz cup of coffee and was happy. At the time that we were there, the place was not crowded so we were allowed to sit and chat for as long as we desired. Parking was pretty good. I was fortunate to get a spot right in front of the place. With the exception of Sundays, it's metered parking. The meters take quarters and credit cards only … fifty cents an hour. Would I go back, yes I would. Thank you ladies for such wonderful hospitality!
Great shop. Coffee is tasty and fresh, and their food is superb. My bacon egg and cheese sandwich was incredible and it came with fresh berries. All their packaging is biodegradable and eco-friendly. They are new and continue to upgrade the amenities each time I come in—bathrooms are clean, music is subtle and relaxing. Woman owned!
I came here with my family for brunch: my husband, daughters ages 12 and 9 and my 16 month old son. I was nervous that the environment wouldn’t accommodate my youngest but they exceeded my expectations! The food was fantastic, the place is an entire vibe and i will come back again and again. Probably next time with my girls! I did appreciate being able to have a mimosa dealing with 3 kids, though!
My husband and I have been here a few times. We always enjoy it. The vibe is great, and the food and drinks are delicious. Service is always 5 star. We would absolutely recommend this spot to everyone, especially for brunch.
Seriously my new favorite place! I’ve never had a bad experience at Standard Pour. The food is AMAZING, my first sandwich there was the grilled cheese and caramelized onions and I added bacon to it; I never finish my food- never, but I gobbled that sandwich and didn’t look back. I have never had a grilled cheese soo tasty, and the baconeggandcheese (one word). Ahhh to die for. BOW DOWN TO THE CHEFS! Every time I have something, I wanna go back there and be like “your hands were touched by God himself” its soo good. The coffee is amazing, I wanna say I have a favorite, but everything I try there is my favorite. The rose latte was my favorite, there was a berry tea during summer that I loved and then there was the passion fruit tea, oh and the mint cucumber lemonade (I think it was)…. I was in love with that for the summer. The customer service is amazing, every member of their staff is courteous and overall kind! ( It’s nice to go to a coffee shop and not have your barista give you attitude or hear them complain about you and your drink.) But of course this all stems from the higher ups; and you can see that the owners, Darlene and Shinelle, care about their staff. They’re awesome; very kind, courteous, and they chat with you (literally how I ended up ordering the grilled cheese with caramelized onions). They literally are involved in their business and I am here for it!! I can go on and on about this place, its ambiance, it’s ability to allow to get work done, it’s what this town needed. But yes I say all that to say that this place is amazing and you should definitely try it out!
I was so fortunate to find this café on a day that my soul felt drained. It's perfect for a date, chillin with your friends but I love going alone. The staff were so nice and they genuinely looked happy which is always a plus to see evidence of a healthy work environment. The food was delicious and they have a wonderful happy hour perfect for whoever is coming from a stressful day at work.
This coffee shop is super cute! Ordered shrimp and grits, my friend had the chicken and waffles and both were AMAZING! The latte’s we tried was delicious! I loved the winter spice latte and even ordered another to go! Definitely will come back and will bring my friends! Very cute, cozy and beautiful brunch! The owners were also amazing queens! Love the Vibe! Check this out, you won’t be disappointed!!!
Standard Pour is exactly what Long Island needed, a nice spot that has everything our culture and the community was missing. Good ambiance, food, a communal work space, great music, and occasional additional calmer nightlife fun (they host various weekly events & happy hrs). Coffee tasty, espresso beverages 10/10 food 10/10. Every time I'm in Long Island I make sure to stop in. Avocado toast is some of the best I've ever tasted .. shrimp & grits *starts drooling thinking about it* ... what more can I say they are a must-try !
After reading all of the wonderful reviews yesterday, today I ventured out with my Mom for an early meal and coffee. The coffee is SO good. The salmon and goat cheese avocado toast is AMAZINGLY delicious. Mom had the waffles with berries on the side and and she truly enjoyed. The service was fantastic and fast. Well done, ladies! Standard Pour does NOT disappoint. I have the loyalty card loaded in my Apple Wallet, and I WILL be back. And I will be telling all of my friends. You should tell yours too. :-)
such great coffee and kind & friendly staff! they have a large variety of non-dairy milks and are always coming up with new drinks. the atmosphere is welcoming, calm, and is a great place to get some work done. they also have hand sanitizers at every table and each table is socially distanced so you can enjoy a drink or meal with peace of mind
What a lovely experience. Came hungry and left full and happy. Very nice atmosphere. Perfect music selections and it wasn’t BLASTING so you can actually enjoy a conversation with your guests. Shrimp & grits were full of flavor and enough for 2 ppl. Oh and the vanilla latte with a shot of rum was the icing on the cake for me!
Chocolate rose pistachio latte is everything. I love there cupcakes too. The Avocado toast is amazing. The spot is classy and such a must have stop if you're in the area. They now also have wine nights too!
I had the best bacon, egg, and cheese I've ever had in my life. It was served on a tasty pretzel bun which really drove the flavor home for me. I also felt fancy because it was served with fruit. For drinks, I had a tasty hot chocolate. This is definitely an alternative to a pricy Starbucks. I love the neighborhood, welcoming feel. I will definitely be a regular here!
New, Delightful and Esthetically Pleasing. Service is Great, regular coffee is too light for my taste but, that’s just my taste. The pastries are amazing. My favorite drink so far Pistachio Chocolate Rose Latte 😋never had anything like it.
I have patronized several times at different times of the day. The consistency is top tier. Vibes/ Food and Drinks are all perfectly executed. Nice decor. Very welcoming and most importantly diverse. Everyone’s space is respected and i like that you can come for some quiet time, even with people mingling and having social time. No one is loud etc. Staff are polite. They have a reward system so collect those points!! Overall 10/10. Spread the word but don’t spread the word, if you know what i mean. This place is a gem.
A place I found on a whim and I was not disappointed at all! The baconeggandcheese is the best one I’ve had in my life. It’s not your standard breakfast sandwich. Instead it’s sweet and savory with crispy bacon, creamy cheese and smooth eggs on a pretzel bun. This black-owned cafe is definitely my “sitcom meet-up spot” (something like central perk but better).
I enjoy coming here for light meals and coffee. I really love the atmosphere and the diversity of people that visit. I love the energy around and tend to get a lot of work done when here.
Standard Pour is exactly what we needed on Rockaway Ave! Everything on their menu is so tasty. My favorite drink is the Pistachio Chocolate Rose latte (iced with an extra shot!). I also love that they have a lot of gluten free options! Their GF chicken salad sandwich is delicious. Also, the staff is friendly and there is plenty of space inside for a comfortable (socially distanced) experience!
Cozy coffee shop. Food and drinks served. Soft chairs inside and 2 tables outside. Latte served in mugs not disposable cups

Fairly good coffee shop but the last 3 times I visited they closed early all three times. I even called the last time to confirm the hours for the day and they closed at 6 instead of 10 on a Saturday. Not a good late night spot.
I waited until after multiple visits to review. My first visit was just to meet a gf for coffee. She scheduled for 5:30 and the place was closing at 6. They had already started cleaning the machines so never had anything. However, I loved the vibe of the place and knew I’d be back. On my second visit, a friend joined me for a drink and quick bites on a Wed. We arrived around 6, place was fairly quiet. I had a shandy, plantains and some codfish fritters that were reminiscent of the ones my mom makes. That’s how good they were. Literally a chefs kiss. My gf had wings and thought they were dialed decent. According to her they lacked that fall off the bone quality she was looking for. On my last visit a friend and I visited for brunch. Truth be told I came back for more of the fritters. Unbeknownst to me, it’s not even on the brunch menu. That to me is a huge missed opportunity. As such, I was deflated and chose what I thought was a rather basic item- a grilled chicken Cesar salad. We had drinks while we waited. An hour later the salads hadn’t arrived. Somewhere between the letdown from the fritters and the hour long wait…I became quite hangry. I’m all fairness, management did send over an additional drink. Finally the salads arrived. The chicken wasn’t as expected ( weird) and the crotons were cornbread. I was completely caught off guard. I can understand them trying to put their own twist on a classic but for me, that wasn’t a welcomed change. Overall, I left hungry. I literally went straight to Costco to buy grocery and cook my own meal because I was convinced the universe was trying to send a message. I will revisit but I think I’ll stick to weekdays after work and stick to the appetizers menu, drinks or coffee. Management 9/10 - She’s present and engaging Service 8/10 - the wait can be long and inconsistent Food 7/10 - items were missing or food inconsistent Ambiance 8/10 - a coffee shop and wine bar is a unique concept. Most folks who go to a coffee shop want peace and quiet. The wine bar crowd gets loud. At time it was disruptive to other tables.
First time going and just so happen they were serving brunch. The lady behind the bar was the only one serving and running the drinks and ringing everyone up so service was a little slow but she was super nice. We had the eggs benedict which was to die for. The flavors complemented my taste buds along with the masala chai tea, just how I make mines and love. It was great to finally go somewhere where they served real fresh tea and not a tea bag!! So kudos for that. We also had the spinach which was nice. Had the Caribbean breakfast skillet with plantains as they didn’t have potatoes and it was great that they accommodated the request but it was not prepared Caribbean style so I wouldn’t order that again. But I will be back for the eggs benedict and tea! Great atmosphere and set up.
I had the greatest experience at Standard Pour a few days ago. The atmosphere and set up was so chill to get away from the hustle bustle of the outside world. It was such a great place to meet up with good old friends and check in! I had the warmest caramel latte, with the foam heart thingy in the center. 😍 And my friends and I enjoyed a chilled glass of clean slate wine followed after. The attendant was very welcoming and full of recommendations. Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed that afternoon at the time, so I cannot rate the food. However, the menu did look bomb and the food presentation posted from other visitors looked great. I will be looking forward to return again and order my chicken and waffles next time 😉
The service and the food were good . There wasn't a long wait for service, ordering, or for our food. I will definitely be back. As someone who doesn't eat meat, I have options, which is something I appreciate. SP is casual enough for just coffee to go but also a good spot to spontaneously grab something to eat. Looking forward to going again during happy hour.

An espresso bar that stops serving espresso in order to serve alcohol...the batiste was nice enough to make us hot chocolate if not we would have left as we don't drink.
The ambiance and the atmosphere of this establishment is very enticing and friendly. The coffee and espresso were impressive but the food was mediocre at best. Overall a nice spot for the aesthetics.
Food was delicious, presentation was beautiful but the service sucked. I got a salad with no dressing. Waffles with no syrup. The guy on the register took 20 minutes with one lady which made a line which causes me more time then needed.
Nice place, but I felt like the Bacon Egg and Cheese and the PCR Latte (Pistachio, Chocolate, Rose) were way over the top. The BEC had too much bacon - and I really like bacon. The main problem was how sweet it was, they should tone down the sugar on that. The PCR was honestly the same problem - too much chocolate, essentially drowning out all of the other flavors. I like the decor of the place and the staff, but those problems with sweetness + the cost of the food makes me not want to recommend.
The shop is nice & comfortable. Waitresses are pleasant & the Pistachio Rose Latte is a nice drink. HOWEVER, my first cup was not hot, lukewarm. I drank it because I didn't want to complain. Food: Biscuits & Sausage Gravy was COLD, the gravy wasn't really gravy was a loose sauce which wasn't very tasty & the two biscuits were HARD. Very disappointed. No one ever asked how my food was. ☀️Lady to my left ate 2 spoon full of grits & left it. Man to my right sent food back 2x's. 💢Cook was walking around instead of focusing on the kitchen. $14.00 for ground sausage, eggs, & biscuits, at least make it good.
My brother made a reservation for our family for Mother’s Day brunch. He made the reservation on open table, which Standard Pour does not use and therefore didn’t have the reservation, but they still seated us. The staff was so nice about the mix up. We sat down, ordered, and like the other Mother’s Day review, we ended up waiting about an hour and a half for our food. We sat down around 10:05am and didn’t get any food until 11:56am. Now, the food was bomb. I attached a pic of the Cobb salad because it was delicious and so much that my husband had to finish it. Everyone else liked their meal as well and that’s why I’m giving 3 stars. The service can definitely be improved. And not speaking about the wait time for food, but communicate with the patrons and let us know what the status on the food is or at least come by the table and see if we need more water or something. The small carafe they placed on the table never got refilled. I feel like the staff barely came by and that made the waiting worse. I think the owner might have come by and spoke to us about the open table mix up but literally no one spoke about how long it took to get our food. But other than the service, I’d consider revisiting for that salad again.

Just really terrible service, BOTH times I’ve been. The first time I came about a month ago it was a SLOW day, but my drink took almost twenty minutes to come out? Literally this girl was just standing there? Talking, not doing anything :(
Overpriced breakfast for the quality and portion size. Barista was not welcoming and seemed disinterested even though we were the only ones she was tending to. There were at least two bugs buzzing around us almost the entire time we were there. The coffee and tea were good but I would not return.
Been going here for the past year with no issues until today. We were told a private party was scheduled and so we were allowed to place a quick order. The manager later came out and stated they can’t serve us even though I already paid for the food. Staff struggled getting me a refund on their system so my family had a to wait a while for me while they sat in another restaurant.
The aesthetics and overall vibe is very nice however the quality and price of their items is subpar. Charging a customer $1.50 extra for a splash of nondairy milk in a hot tea IMO is very high. I’ve never been to a café that charges that much. 50 cents, 75 cents maybe. But $1.50? That was off putting. Also, the avocado toast with a fried egg was literally straight avocado smushed on the toast, no seasoning, not even salt and pepper, and a fried egg. This was about $16. I understand inflation is crazy right now but this was disappointing.
I visited this establishment on Sunday. I had been hearing about it for some time and wanted to support a black owned business. Upon entry my guest and I were confused. We were not greated or even acknowledged. We stood there for about 3 minutes before we decided to just sit down at an open table. After sitting down for about 4 more minutes, my guest went up to the counter where he found menus. Upon reviewing the menus we saw instructions to order at the counter. I'm not sure if I'd visit again but it would be helpful for staff to at least acknowledge the customer. Maybe a quick " hey. Welcome to Standard Pour. Feel free to sit at any available table ". Also maybe have QR code menus at the table instead of a QR code to download an app. Maybe I came on an "off" day but I was definitely disappointed by the service. The food was good but after the poor customer service, I wasn't very hungry. I hope that the service improves. The vibe and music was great.
I really had high hopes for this spot. I recently found out that it's actually Caribbean owned and serves some Caribbean dishes, (Trinidadian). Me and my 2 kids went for dinner. The service was very slow. We never got napkins or plates to share the food. The food was bland. The drinks were watered down. It appears most of the reviews are related to their coffee/brunch service. I'll give them one more chance but I don't have high hopes. The DJ was the best thing they have to offer, she was excellent! It's very unfortunate....why can't our Caribbean community do better?
To start off the person taking my order was not patient and didn’t want to wait for me to pull up the app so I could get my points. Wanted avocado toast but they had no avocado. Instead I ordered veggie frittata and iced latte. Clearly they either did not know how to do the latte or didn’t want to so they gave me iced coffee with almond milk. The frittata was reheated and lukewarm and not made fresh. After eating this I had stomach problems all day. This is my second time visiting this spot and I thought the attitude of the staff improved, but sadly no! I would give this place another try because I believe there is some quality apart from the staff. Let’s see what gives in my next visit.
I am writing this review in real time. I called and placed my order at 10:37AM, the person I spoke to told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I decided to walk in at 11AM (to give more time) and it is now 11:18AM and still waiting for my order. I also ordered a drink which took about 10 minutes to finally be given to me, still long before my food order arrived. I would have liked to have my drink with my food. This place seems really understaffed. At 11:27AM I finally received the food to go with my drink that I basically finished while waiting. Thats almost a whole hour from the time I placed my order. The waiting time seriously needs to improve or just be more honest about what the wait time actually is!
someone else mentioned, the waitresses are nice but the food is ehh and it takes forever to get your order. Took almost 35 minutes to place our entree orders and then an hour to receive. several of our entrees came out when everyone else had finished. The shrimp and grits tasted great but then one of the shrimps were undercooked, I guess they were rushing to get the last plate out. The chicken and waffles was the best entrees. The mimosas taste more like orange juice with a light splash of champagne. The sangria tasted more spice than tart and fruity. Overall, I wouldn’t come back anytime soon. I recommend the place to hire more staff to serve and cook so service could be quicker and more efficient.
Quaint almost cozy on first sight Long Island spot. I’m always on the hunt for the next awesome Black Owned business to support. Landed here through a positive recommendation but left feeling super disappointed. No welcome or greeting upon entering which is like restaurant 101. You are just left standing there trying to figure out what to do next. Pretty unfortunate. Didn’t want to leave without buying something so I sprang for a muffin which was excellent (but was told is not made there). Welp! Our presence didn’t seem to matter and there was an unpleasant odor that did not sit well with us. Double welp! The positives are .. a cute decor and set up in an easy to get to location. They have promise and I hope they will get there. I’ll give them another try when there is an event happening. Rooting for you guys!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to experience any of these things. We confirmed operating hours, and went there for brunch on Saturday. They were closed an hour after they were supposed to be opened; we ended up wandering a few blocks and finding another restaurant two hours later still closed. What a shame.
this cafe lives up to its name, average! unexceptional and overpriced nonsense. weird customer service. got my appetizer (Fries) AFTER my main meal. tbh i dont think the owner has ever read a dictionary “standard pour” ROFL
Each time I go they don’t have more than half the stuff available. I ordered waffles at 9am and they didn’t have maple syrup. Second time I went they didn’t have 3 out of the 5 flavored coffees available. The one I did order came out after 50 minutes wait.
Very conflicted Team is nice, food is delicious However each time I’ve tried it out; the wait for Coffee to hit the table is over 15 min and food could be over an hour Seems like it’s chronically understaffed in the kitchen Would love to see the time between order and food/coffee hitting the table be sliced tremendously to gain a perfect 5 star
Visited 8/7/22 for the first time and we will not return. $60 for 2 small brunch "entrees", 1 side order of bacon, 1 "specialty" iced coffee and 1 rose' mimosa. First thing I noticed was the entry door had finger prints all over it. Walked in anyway and told the young lady with blonde locks that it was our first time visiting and she just wasn't friendly from hello (had a "cold" look the entire time). We waited a while for her to give us menus and was told to have a seat, pick out what we wanted then come back to the bar to order. Her friendlier coworker had just come in for her shift and politely asked if we had been helped - thank God - so, I placed our order and sat. While waiting, I noticed the young lady with the blonde locks using her bare hands to cover a water leak underneath the spill mat on the floor. Afterward, she went right back to making drinks and assisting where needed, without washing her hands. Food came out and we were not impressed to say the least. I ordered eggs benedict which was served with andouille sausage on an English muffin and mixed salad. The eggs came out like a breaded soft boiled egg *side eye* and my bacon was too done. My family member ordered biscuits with sausage gravy and said the biscuits were good but the gravy was just ok. Food is expensive everywhere you go, but you at least want to enjoy it and the experience of being out. We both enjoyed our drinks. A staff member spoke to the table next to ours and said 2 workers were out and she apologized for the long wait on food. Even then, I don't mind waiting on food - just make it right.
I wouldn’t even give this place one star but that’s the only way to leave this review. Absolutely unprofessional, I ordered food online only to arrive and they said they never received my order even with an emailed invoice of my order and a text message of my order. I was charged for an order they didn’t get, only one staff in the entire business. Also do not order any hot beverages because their steamer does not work! Only one staff Who’s overwhelmed, please stay away from and save your money. The most unprofessional small business I’ve seen in a long time. They won’t last long with such awful service.
I wanted to replace my daily starbucks commute to get some work done locally, but this place was such a disappointment. After waiting 20 minutes for 1 drink I just packed up my stuff and left. Waited by the door for my drink for another 5 minutes and was gone. Literally smelled like rotten eggs, and there’s no wifi after 5pm (ok but I had bad cell service inside) So I couldn’t do any work. Was really rooting for this to replace my starbucks trips but was a huge L
We just left there on Father's day. We didn't have a reservation so we sat at bar and waited for order to be taken .We waited almost 30 minutes and were about to leave when the owner tells us food is coming out. She could of been friendlier and explained they were backed up. The saltfish was salty too much potatoes.
This was a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! 3 hours later and I left with no food in my stomach and anger. The owner was unprofessional and rude. She did not support in anyway. The food was undercooked. The waffles was gummy, the chicken was drenched in oil. It was a true disaster and a waste of 3 hours of my Sunday!! I would never come here again despite the beautiful decor.
2 grilled cheeses, 55 minutes. it was $30 for two miniature grilled cheeses. although they were tasty, definitely not worth the wait or the amount of money spent. not recommending nor ever coming back. we had politely asked for the wait time just for them to constantly say “it’s coming in a minute” and finally after almost an hour, it arrived. one of the staff members was nice and claimed that the restaurant was swamped when there was only six people in the restaurant who had already been served. once again, i would not recommend.
If I can give a 0 I would. Waffle was gummy and not cooked, chicken was drenched in oil, waited too long for our coffees and food to arrive. We got asked what we ordered 2x by different people. Took over an hour just to get coffee. Terrible service and will not be returning. Multiple people had issues and left and that should’ve been an indication. Just a big no. Also, the owner is very passive aggressive and unprofessional.
Just left Standard Pour Espresso & Wine Bar for the Mother’s Day brunch. I was so excited to make reservations and celebrate with my mom. We waited over an hour and a half and only received our drinks and one order of crab cakes for my mother. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I hate to have to write a review like this because I love to support our Black businesses, but this was unacceptable. Mind you I’ve been there 3 times before and service was always a little slow, but NEVER like this. Sad to say I will not be going back EVER!!! And then when we complained about the lack of service and wait times these ppl had the nerve to make excuses and not be accommodating. Once again ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE experience, and on Mother’s Day of all days. We ended up paying for what we received and walked out, but honestly I feel like we should’ve just walked out. Never again!!! So sad.
The staff were so mean they were scary. I was “greeted” be being told not to touch the coffee cups. (I thought it was self-serve). The menu said brunch starts at 10:00, but we were told the kitchen didn’t open until 11:00. So we waited. We couldn’t order French toast. No bread. They were out of tea. Another couple was told they were out of their entree. A third was told theirs would take an hour. So everyone left. On the street outside my friend warned another lady not to go in there and the mean waitress came running out and yelled at her not to do that! First time I’ve ever actually been afraid to wait staff. It would be better not to eat than to go here.
My friend and I visited this establishment yesterday 10/16/22. We were excited because it was a black owned place and wanted to try it. But when we got there we were super disappointed, if I could give zero stars I would. The place and decor looked great and music was nice. We walked in and was unsure what to do since no one greeted us at the door. After seconds I asked the young lady at the front should we seat ourselves, she said yes. We finally found a seat, placed our orders. We had to pay and tip upfront, later finding out they didn’t have half the items on the menu. Service was horrible from start to finish. The mimosa came out with a dirty wine glass that had lip gloss/lipstick smudges at the top. I requested for it to be changed and she quickly apologized. We waited for over an hour when another woman(unsure if she was a manager, owner or waitress) told us they didn’t have the grits that I ordered) for shrimp and grits. She insisted I order something else. I asked for chicken and waffles but they did not have waffle batter. She coaxed me into ordering something else and I finally decided on Caribbean skillet which I struggled to eat and could not finish it. The Caribbean skillet hardly any salted fish, burnt and was very dry. The menu reads salt fish with potatoes and the skillet contained plantains and cassava. Seem like this restaurant just substitutes whatever they have on that day. My friend kindly asked about the rest of her order and the server/manager replied “ it’s coming, I only have two hands” That response was just rude after we waited patiently 90 mins for our food. This server was seen laughing and talking to a table next to us while we sat and waited for food that wasn’t even available. She offered us gift cards but that did not make up for the bad service and bad food. This morning we still have a pending charge for original order since what we ended up ordering cost less than original order. They promised it would change but still waiting. The tip amount was never adjusted to the corrected bill. To me this is just dishonest business practice, despite the amount. If we had known upfront they didn’t have the items on the menu, we would have gone elsewhere. However they let you order an unavailable item, wait for an hour so that you may be more inclined to stay. My friend and I was so disappointed in everything at this restaurant . We could have gone somewhere else and gotten so much more for our money. I will not be returning and I do NOT recommend this place to anyone.
I'm going to write a detailed complaint about this because this hasn't been the first time but the 4th time this has happened. I'm an advocate for small businesses but if you have business hours...actually follow the hours you have provided. First, it was the transition from the cafe to the wine bar and not allowing certain cafe drinks after a certain time. Then the occasional they are supposed to open but they are not. It's so frustrating since this is one of the ONLY cafes that we have around where we can sit down. December 28, I come at 10:40AM, a hour after the holiday business hours indicated on the website and on the door. Doors locked and no one to be found. This is the 4th time this has happened.
