No frills- solid food at fair prices with one of the best views in town. We ordered bruschetta, which was two large thick slices of bread with very tasty toppings. They also offer regional wines that they will recommend if you ask. And if you like negronis, definitely order their green negroni! It was one of the best I’d had- still bitter and balanced but a little more herbaceous.

Magical place for breakfast/lunch/dinner. At the foot of the Lago de Como, it is inspiring place. The coffee shop is a mix of sophistication with the town italian style that makes it truly worth to visit. The waiters are attentive and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This caffe bistrot is perfectly situated along the lakeside. They serve sandwiches, pastas, and salads at an affordable price. We had lasagna bolognese and tortellini stuffed with spinach and ricotta and butter sage sauce. Nothing too special or exceptional, but it was fairly delicious and satisfying. We capped our meal with a generous slice of tiramisu paired with cappucino. Plus, the service is friendly, and the view is stunning. We waited for about 10-15 minutes around 12 noon before we were seated for lunch. Overall a great experience! Highly recommended. ❤️

The location by the lake is absolutely stunning. Our waiter was friendly, fun, and gave excellent recommendations for drinks—perfect if you want an authentic Italian experience. Both the main courses and desserts were delicious—simple, pure, and very satisfying. We especially enjoyed the saffron risotto and the Bolognese tortellini. Highly recommended!

Si trova entrando nel borgo, dalla parte della fermata del Ferry, subito dopo il porticciolo. La posizione è stupenda, dai suoi tavolini esterni, bella vista sul lago e su parte del borgo. Ci siamo fermati per una buona colazione "british" ( pancetta e uova strapazzate..) e, anche se era molto presto, c'era già parecchia gente, in particolare molti turisti inglesi. Nonostante fosse molto affollato, siamo stati serviti senza lunghe attese, da personale cordiale e simpatico. Prezzi corretti per essere sul lago, qualità buona. Sicuramente una sosta piacevole.

Siamo tornati in questo luogo, proprio in riva al lago, a Varenna perché la posizione é eccezionale e i cocktails molto buoni. Una lista davvero lunga, per tutti i gusti. Ben preparati e serviti con noccioline, olive e cipolline (che adoro e nn si trovano mai). Qui é sempre pieno di gente e trovare un tavolino nn é facile, ma poi, appena accomodati con un buon cocktail davanti allo splendido tramonto sul lago, sembra già di essere in vacanza. La ragazza che ci ha servito molto carina e attenta, gentile. La piadina buona ma un pochino fredda, forse a causa di tanta gente. Era strapieno come al solito. Il menù é vario e la qualità del cibo in generale mi é sembrata sullo stile « turistico », comprensibile vista la natura del luogo. Torneremo per un altro cocktail

Location molto carina a pochi metri dal lago. Buone le bruschette, ma niente di eccezionale. Buoni anche i primi. Prezzi giusti, forse i vini abbastanza cari, ma tutto sommato una bella esperienza per pranzo

Posto molto carino, in una bella zona di Varenna. L'interno è davvero originale e curato. Menù molto vario sia per quanto riguarda le colazioni e i dolci sia per i panini. Cibo ottimo, consiglio di provare le torte. Personale cordiale.

Splendido panorama! Fare colazione o pranzare sul lago è meraviglioso e rilassante. I piatti sono nella norma, il personale molto gentile .

Postino davvero carino curato e con un'ottima vista sul lago...preso un aperitivo veloce pochi stuzzichini soliti e buoni...l'unica cosa che mi ha fatto restare un po' perplesso è stato il costo dei Crodino che si aggirano sui 7 euro...un po' tantino...

The ambience is unbeatable! The view of the Lake Como with the sun setting is mesmerizing. The Carbonara and tortellini was good but not amazing. The cocktails complimented the food good well. The service was courteous too..

Stopped by Varenna Café Bistrot for a quick break. The pistachio and berry tart and coffee were just okay—nothing exceptional, but still enjoyable. What really stood out were the serene views, which made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The service was a bit slow, which took away from the overall experience slightly, but the setting definitely made up for it. A nice spot to unwind by the water, just be prepared for a bit of a wait.

siamo stati in questo ristorante durante un gita tra amici lungo il lago. essendo in 11 e senza prenotazione abbiamo dovuto attendere una mezzoretta prima di poterci accomodare, una pecca che da subito abbiamo notato e che il locale è sprovvisto di tendoni/ombrelloni, e nonostante la meravigliosa vista lago, il sole che batteva ci ha un po’ rovinato l’atmosfera… abbiamo ordinato come antipasto delle bruschette, buone e particolari! ognuno poi ha scelto un primo, un insalata o un secondo piatto. menù molto turistico, difatti anche i piatti della tradizione italiana, si facevano mangiare ma non erano nulla di entusiasmante. con qualche birra e 6 bottiglie d’acqua abbiamo speso 23€ a testa, sono stati anche molto gentile a dividerci il pagamento del conto alla romana!

Ci siamo stati ad aprile 2019. Varenna é un posto carino dove passeggiare e al verso sera il Varenna Caffé Bistrot guarda in faccia il tramonto. Ottimo per un pasto e o un calice di vino guardando il lago coccolati dal personale squisito. Prezzi onesti e mi ripeto vista spettacolare.

Il posto è bellissimo e in realtà ciò che vale davvero la pena sono le viste, mangiando di fronte al lago. Il cibo lasciava molto a desiderare. Un bel locale per bere qualcosa, ma decisamente non per mangiare.

Il posto è fantastico nulla da dire, l’attesa è sempre lunga ma vale il servizio. Il personale è davvero gentile, ogni volta c’è sempre tantissima gente. Abbiamo già mangiato 2 volte, e sul cibo devo dire che il menù è molto turistico, abbiamo pranzato con dei primi piatti. La pasta è arrivata tiepida tutt’e e due le volte e quindi penso sia il loro standard. La carbonara a mio avviso non è il massimo, in generale i primi piatti sono da migliorare molto. Abbiamo visto tanta gente fare cocktail o aperitivi con bruschette. Ecco penso che la prossima volta proverò l’aperitivo ma i primi non sono il top. La posizione è comunque da 5 stelle.

*GOOD VIEW, BAD FOOD* Honestly, the only good thing about this place was the view and the waiters. I had the bolognese lasagne and it was one of the worst meals Ive had. For 14 euros, I had a tiny portion, which consisted of 3 sheets of pasta, with a drizzle of tomato sauce and parmesan. I was told there would be mince beef, but the cow must have been hiding since I couldn't find any. My girlfriend had the pasta, which was better, but had clearly been reheated and tasted chewy Waiters we're nice and smiley Nothing makes up for bad food though.

The only good thing about this place is the view of the lake. The food is pretty awful so does the drinks. I had the bolognese pasta the portion is tiny and the noodle is undercooked and there’s barely meat in the sauce. My partner had lasagna , it looks nothing like a lasagna and didn’t taste good either. There’s a very big menu of cocktails. I had the basil smash, but it’s overly sweet and artificial flavor and color added looks lime green. The outdoor space with view is limited and very tight. Service is pretty bad, can hardly get anyone’s attention.
