We stopped at Geppy’s Bistrot for lunch while passing through Ventimiglia, and I’m really glad we did. It’s just a short walk from the train station, but once you're inside, it feels calm, modern, and quietly elegant — a bit of a hidden gem. The lunch menu was small but thoughtful. I had a ravioli dish that was fresh and beautifully balanced — not heavy, but still full of flavour. Portions weren’t huge, but just right for a midday meal, especially if you’re continuing your day afterwards. Everything felt well-prepared and seasonal, and the plating had that nice attention to detail without being overdone. Service was friendly but discreet, and we appreciated how relaxed the atmosphere was — not rushed, not loud, just a comfortable pace. It’s the kind of place where you can actually enjoy your food and maybe linger a bit with a coffee or glass of wine. If you’re in Ventimiglia and want something better than a quick bite but not overly formal, I’d absolutely recommend it for lunch. It’s a quiet, quality break from the bustle of travel.

Wonderful experience here. Staff are friendly and seated me before restaurant opened the food was outstanding and the combination of goat cheese and honey on bread with red wine will be remembered.
The MacAulay family had an enjoyable lunch at Geppy's Bistro on a day trip to Italy. The risotto was perfect and the cod was excellent. The establishment is contemporary and clean, and the service was polite and efficient.
Great, not banale food!!! Very tasty, very well cooked, simply delicious local Italian food. Great options with different what based pastas. The service is quick and very professional, with a big smile. The atmosphere is pleasant: the rooms have plenary of light, everything is spot clean, bathroom included.
Probably the best food around. Fish was super fresh and perfectly cooked. Table wine was perfect, coffee sublime. Reasonable prices. One problem not open enough.

We went to Italy just for lunch and this was the perfect place. 1 minute from the station which is a real plus. Clientele seems rather local and the servers were very patient in explaining everything to us on the menu (and properly masked too). We got a black pasta with fresh tuna, green pasta, and swordfish steak. All were very very tasty. I also got 3 deserts, hey when you cross the border you gotta make it count right?! Tiramisu was good, the mascapone cheese was the best I've ever had. The gelato with strudal and the pastry with fruits were all good. 3 entrees, 1 wine, 1 coffee, 3 desserts was a total of 62 euros. Very high quality food. We were happy with our lunch and took the train back to France right after.

The food is amazing and service is super friendly! They were really busy for lunch when i was there, but all of the staff helped each other out, they are quite a team! I had the ravioli with mushrooms and sausage and it was so flavorful/yummy. My friend had the lamb w/beans, also amazing flavors, wine and dessert were super too. I highly recommend eating here, it's only a block away from the main train station in Ventimiglia, and only an hour train ride from Nice...definitely worth the short ride!
I was staying in Monaco and wanted a true Italian meal so I drove into Italy. The squid-ink pasta with mussels was outrageously good. Tender, flavorful, and fresh. The octopus was succulent and tender. The bread was boring but I’d go back in a heartbeat. Yummy food.

We always eat here when we visit. Fresh pasta, meat and fish, good wine, baby chair, reasonable prices. Everything we've had was delicious. Only speak Italian, but you'll find a way to order if you don't, they are very welcoming.
They prepare different dishes everyday. Food is nice but not extraordinary. The waiters and waitresses look so busy, maybe understaff. So agree with other comments, they can be more friendly with smile :)
Not bad
a modern bistro, which was not the most welcoming, it never hurts to smile at clients! Smiling seems to be very scarce in Liguria. The food was average. The pasta with cozze and shrimp was very average, and lacking in flavour , which is unexpected as this is a seaside bistro. Maybe the fish used was frozen? My tagliolini with fasaona meat sauce was also quite bland, and only saved by the grated cheese. House wine was fine, and espresso too. Underwhelming.
We went to the Friday market, and stopped by here for lunch. We were craving pasta! Both indoor and outdoor seating available, restaurant really busy with lunch, mostly full tables. We were able to walk-in with no reservation. Only reason why it’s 3 star is because the service was sub-par. The tables around us who got sat after us all got their food before we did, must have forgot our order or something. Didn’t stop by to take our drink order for a while, and didn’t want to check in on us until the food was served. We were not able to order a second round of drinks, you basically need to yell at the waiter to get his attention. Food was good, but not worth waiting over 45 minutes for simple dishes.
Ok in general, but not suitable for lunch- portions are tiny and you need to take 2 plates or look for something else almost immediately. Service could be quicker for bistro as well.
