Mi sono trovato benissimo. È un ristorante un po' caro, ma i difetti finiscono qui. Accoglienza di un cameriere che è stato la cortesia fatta persona, anche nel dire di no (quando ho chiesto di sedermi in un posto che avrei preferito), lo ha fatto con garbo. Ben tre omaggi per il cenone di capodanno (cotechino, bis di panissa e un bicchiere di vino, da accompagnare al dessert) e abbastanza veloci nel servire. Non so se sono sempre così cortesi (o magari hanno fatto qualcosa in più per capodanno), ma io mi sono trovato proprio bene.

Posto veramente informale, cucina casalinga tipica piemontese, accoglienza ottima e ottima selezione di vini. È possibile gustare prelibatezze particolari come la carne di struzzo in tutte le sue forme e anche salume di selvaggina, interessante anche scelte con frattaglie e tagli minori. Ci si sente a casa circondati dalle bottiglie e da oggetti d'epoca. Veramente consigliato.

Cucina tipica piemontese da assaporare nella città di Vercelli, con pietanze molto buone, accompagnate da ottimi vini. Personale veloce e gentile. Locale dal gusto antico a partire dal nome. Consigliato!

Ci siamo stati il 25 aprile su consiglio di una amica, ristorante pulito e tranquillo con un menù ottimo nella scelta ,nello specifico risotto al formaggio Valsesia fantastico e antipasti con buon equilibrio di sapori , lardo nostrano e tagliere con salumi e formaggi deliziosi .. Molto buona la carta dei vini con il Piemonte in testa

Cucina tipica piemontese, mi è piaciuto molto quello che ho mangiato (antipasti caldi e tacchinella ripena alle castagne), prezzi giusti, locale accogliente anche se un po' piccolino. L'unico appunto, col covid, consiglierei di areare un po' il locale, aprendo ogni tanto la porta d'ingresso. Ci tornerei volentieri.

Ci passo sempre quando sono a Vercelli. Posto molto intimo e accogliente. Peccato non aver potuto mangiare la panissa perché ero da solo ma ho mangiato una zuppa valdostana davvero impeccabile. Ottimo assortimento di vini. Consigliato

Trattoria tipica Piemontese dove mangiare i piatti tipici della tradizione piemontese. Da non perdere panissa con il fondo e il bollito. Ho preso come antipasto il fritto misto ma non era proprio il top. Locale piuttosto affollato. Conviene prenotare.

RAPPORTO QUALITÀ/PREZZO DISEQUILIBRATO Premetto dicendo che questo è un posto dove la qualità, tutto sommato, c'è. Ma ho la sensazione che si faccia "cassa" con le pochissime, sporadiche presenze di avventori. Con due antipasti, due secondi, due dolci e "vino della casa" abbiamo speso 112€, con prenotazione del tutto superflua. Se si paragona questo posto a un locale al Recetto di Candelo che utilizziamo per festeggiare le ricorrenze (di cui, per correttezza, ometto il nome), dove il costo di una cena di qualità di gran lunga superiore in un contesto "magico", che spazia dall'antipasto al dolce con vino in bottiglia, dove bisogna prenotare settimane prima per ottenere un tavolo, si aggira su quella stessa cifra, ci si rende conto che il rapporto qualità/prezzo condanna impietosamente e inequivocabilmente il Paiolo. Ribadisco, tuttavia, di essere uscito comunque soddisfatto dopo aver assaporato piatti inconsueti come lo "Spek di Anatra" e l'"Oca arrosto" e un dolce con uva passa, grappa e cannella davvero intrigante. Ma, dopo aver frequentato alcuni locali (pur immeritevoli di bocciatura), rimane forte la sensazione di aver sprecato del denaro.

3 stars in this case, as in many others, is not a negative judgment; in reality, it's neither positive nor negative. The wines are good, but what did you do to make them good? Some will argue that to find good wines, you have to travel around to find and offer quality wines. True, but how many enthusiasts do the same just for personal gain? I tried an Istrian Malvasia, very good. A good Chardonnay. On the plus side, they fill the glasses well; you pay a lot, but at least you get to drink. Then we had the Vercellese crostone and the anchovies with butter and brioche. With water, it was 40 euros or a little more. I'm not surprised; that's fine with me. Downsides: She pours us the Malvasia, I smell it, taste it, and say, "Good, you can taste the maceration, but this flavor isn't just from the maceration, it's from the barrel." She: "No, I'm almost sure, it's not from the barrel." The story ends with me searching for the bottle online and discovering it's been in the barrel for nine months... I call her, and perhaps not very nicely, point this out to her. You're a place that focuses on wine, you have to know the wine you serve, especially the one by the glass; you have to know its ins and outs. The same goes for the serving temperature of wines. Will you pour me a wine 10 degrees cooler than the serving temperature? You're warning me that I need to let it warm up if you haven't had a chance to serve it to me at the perfect tasting temperature. If your customer is someone who just wants to drink or show off to a girl, that's fine. But if you find a jerk like me who pays 8 euros a glass and not 1.50 for a Bianchino at the station bar, it's because he wants to taste those 8 euros. Let's move on to the food: The Vercellese crostone, cream of beans, salami, and toma cheese, thanks to the ******, how can you go wrong? While I was eating it, I kept telling myself, "There's something acidic, there's oil in it," but I didn't see any oil, so I thought it was just my gut feeling. Instead, while I was eating it, I saw traces of oil on the bottom of the plate. NO, oil shouldn't go on the cheese and salami. Let's get to the anchovies... 15 euros, the price may seem like NO, but in reality, the anchovies they bring you are very expensive. Even if they're not the best I've ever tasted, the problem is the brioche bread, which doesn't do anything to avoid looking like toasted sandwich bread, and the butter, unfortunately, wasn't good. Disappointing, and getting bread, butter, and anchovies wrong is a real pro's idea. Like with wines, you have to give me something I can't find at the supermarket that I don't have to replicate at home. What could I find? I mean, mini brioche breads with whipped butter (which you put in a nice piping bag so it's easy to portion out), and if you want to be cool, you flavor it with lemon zest. Or lime or miso or whatever else comes to mind. Finally, we come to the price of the wine. We're MORE than 100% of the bottle in the cellar if you take it away (and so far, that's fair), plus another 20-25% if they serve it to you (I still have to figure out why). Would I go back? Yes, perhaps when they're more experienced. For now, good luck.
