In the past 10 years, I have visited Medellin 6 different times. I thought I had eaten at every vegan restaurant in the city. I was wrong. I discovered Las Veganas on a quiet street. The restaurant offered a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a meal. The menu is extensive enough to offer you options whether you are there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is all freshly prepared. The portions are satisfying. The price is very reasonable for what you get. The restaurant also serves as a small shop where you can find many healthy products to take home. Needless to say, I will return several more times before my stay in Medellin comes to an end.
We came here to try the vegan food. We got the Grilled Seitan and Tamal Antioqueño (with gluten); both came with lemonade. The food was well served and tasted great. The seitan had a spongy texture that was different than we are typically used to, but still good. The lemonade is made with panela (whole cane sugar), which gives it a different taste, but also still good. The woman who helped us was sweet, friendly, and kind. There is a decent amount of seating inside and outside the restaurant. Overall, I the food tasted good and I would return.
One of the best if not the best best food experience in Colombia. A must visit place for vegans and non-vegans as well. I ate three different plates on four occasions. The cerrial bowl for breakfast is amazing and bandeja is simply great. Quinoa steak was also very good. The service is perfect and the ladies working there are so nice and friendly that you really feel at home (shout out to Julie!). I wish I could go back to Medellin just to visit Las Veganas again!
Everything we are here was so damn delicious 😱🤤🤤 and banana cake at the end was just the final bullet.. it was the best banana cake in my life! We took two more of it to enjoy for breakfast and we will definitely come back here ! 👍 Upd: and the most delicious (and huge) vegan burger I've ever tried 😍❤️🔥
I lived in Colombia for a year, and this was by far my favorite restaurant. Don’t believe the negative reviews—every single time I went to this restaurant, the experience was amazing. The staff is attentive, the food is delicious, and the portions are generous. Enjoying a restaurant like this is pure joy. Being able to pay a low price for high-quality food is truly incredible. I miss the food from this place, and I can’t wait to go back someday. Wishing all the best to the owner of the restaurant!
I had breakfast (well... more like brunch, was almost noon 🤭) at Las Veganas in Medellín, and it was bomb 🔥. I loved the Calentado Paisa, a dish featuring a rice and bean blend which took me back home, served with scrambled tofu and an arepa. The arepa itself is kinda plain, but slap the other stuff on top, and it’s chef’s kiss. Being extra, I added avocado and a vegan chorizo, and yeah, no regrets. It comes with a drink, so I went for the hot chocolate. Solid choice. 👍😋 And the price? Crazy good. Less than $5 without extras, like $6 with, and it was so much food. Can’t beat that. 🤑 Also had the carrot-coconut cake, and unlike a lot of vegan cakes that crumble apart, this one was moist and held together perfectly. Respect. 💯 Service was great, plenty of space, some outdoor seating too. 👍😎 If you’re in the area, vegan or not, don’t sleep on this place. 🌱
Incredible vegan restaurant, from the food to the staff. We tried the bandeja paisa, arepa and choripapa and they were all delicious. Went to the restaurant yesterday for dinner and came back today as it was just simply that amazing. Will be returning again before leaving Medellín. Staff are also understanding of allergens (intolerant to gluten). The staff are just the sweetest and you can tell they just want their customers to have a great meal!
Had a day in the park and got a bit hungry. This cute, quiet, family owned restaurant rests on a quiet street. They were quick to give me a seat and they spoke english and spanish. They have a buffet lunch where you choose a rice, and some sides and a few other dishes plus a soup. I will say, it was a lot of food for such a little price. The only thing I didn’t like was that I was not offered an actual menu with other dishes to try, it was just the buffet. Plus I got to choose a juice as well. It’s a quick, cheap bite and the food is good, I would like to come back to try some other dishes. They also sell a few vegan items to cook with as well!
We went for the Vegan Burger Fest burger. Overall Appearance : 4/10 -too messy and hard to eat without getting fingers dripping with sauce Bun: 2/10 -over-toasted and too thin Meat: 4/10 -too fibery and dry; no juicy, “meaty” texture; flavor was acceptable Vegetables: 5/10 -the coleslaw was amazing; but the pickles tasted a little strange -Sauces: 6/10 they were good but not amazing We were attended very well; however the burgers did not match our expectations. The fruit juice had a watery flavor and no sweetener, even though we were later informed that the juice could have been sweetened for us, upon request. The roasted potato fries were good, they just didn’t have ketchup and were very few in quantity. At least, I left full because my boyfriend didn’t finish his burger 🤭and we did receive a discount for our disappointing experience.
Went here at 6pm to try the daily menu. Sadly, this was not available anymore, so we ordered something else. We were still offered the soup of the menu, which we gladly accepted. The food itself was okay, but we are really unhappy about the service. We ended up being charged an additional 5k for each soup. We payed for our food by card, and when paying, she took our card and put it on the card reader. She did not tell us, though, that there is a fee to pay by card...
Good food but not good service. We got only half of the menu del Dia and paid almost full price. They just stopped serving and did something else, seemed like they forgot us and even after we asked we didn't get the rest. So all in all overpriced for what we got. Coffee also not good.
