Restaurants which are or have been included in the Osterie list always meet our expectations. Lovely atmosphere, with the host displaying professionalism and competence. Lovely food, great wine. Definitely worth a try.
Always in search for a good meal in every location I visit. PerBacco did not disappoint one bit. Located a bit off the main strip, this place still maintains a warm and cozy charm about it. The surprising highlight was the complimentary stater of olives fried in tomatoes. For appetisers, the grilled octopus is mandatory. Perfectly cooked, not chewy and the tips of the tentacles were lightly charred and crunchy. For mains, rely on the owner to recommend a seasonal dish as the menu is on rotation. For dessert, I had a seasonal dish of chestnut mousse and whipped ricotta with dark chocolate.
Found this place wondering on the city map of Bari and decided to go. Positive reviews was the main reasons why I got here and I could say they're 100% true. This place is incredible, showing best part of Italy- its food and kindness. There is no plenty of opinions on the menu, but I liked it short and super fresh. Attention to details and freshness of ingredients, very tasty meals, and beautiful service are the reasons why I would definitely go back and ring the bell 💯
Wanting a special meal for a Friday night, we selected PerBacco. Glad we did. Make a reservation, don't forget to ring the bell when you arrive to be let in. Everything was professional from start to finish. Great service, lovely decor and welcoming hosts. The amuse bouche was oven roasted olives with tomato reduction (pictured). I enjoyed the grilled octopus - perfect combination of fire kissed smokey sear and tender inside (pictured). I followed this with seared duck breast with pumpkin puree (pictured) and it was perfect. My wife enjoyed the stuffed eggplant, then had fussiloni with Murgia Carsica Black Chickpea. The owner recommended a perfect rose from Puglia which went well with the variety of dishes. We ate well here and recommend this restaurant very much.
Did you ever have to knock to enter a restaurant ? If you are visiting Bari, you HAVE to stop there and take the time to enjoy a delicious meal in this small restaurant. The owner was so nice, took the time to explain, to share a moment And the food was simply delicious. Simple and sophisticated at the same time, very savory, a lot of typical flavors. The perfect way to discover typical cuisine from this region of Italy, at a price way more than reasonable when we see the quality of the ingredients !
Amazing experience. One of the best restaurants I ate in. Everything was mastered. Special stars for the appetizers (creme de chou) and the cold fish 🤩 And the people were very kind. Thank you for this moment. A gem in Bari.
A place where time slows and the senses awaken. A haven of warmth and quiet, where the door opens with a chime, inviting you into a world of simple yet abundant flavors. Here, food is not rushed—it is savored, prepared with care, served with kindness. A sanctuary for those who seek nourishment not just for the body, but for the soul.
PerBacco is a great spot in Bari! The food is absolutely delicious, with rich, authentic flavors that make each bite a treat. The wine list is fantastic, with lots of options that pair perfectly with the menu. The cozy, intimate atmosphere makes it the ideal place for a relaxed night out. If there’s one thing I’d add, it’s a bit more warmth in the customer service, something you’d naturally expect in such a charming setting. But honestly, the amazing food and ambiance more than make up for it. Highly recommend!
PerBacco offers a fantastic dining experience! From the warm welcome to the cozy, retro atmosphere, everything feels thoughtfully curated. The menu focuses on high-quality, seasonal ingredients that showcase traditional flavors with a modern twist. The staff is attentive and friendly, adding to the overall experience. Highly recommend—looking forward to visiting again!
Excellent restaurant! I'm so impressed by the whole experience in this place - from the host welcoming you to the retro interior and the menu! It's cosy and the tables have enough privacy. If you want to try high-quality food with traditional products but in a modern perspective, this is the place. I'm impressed that they use seasonal products and adapt the menu based on the period of the year. The service was exceptional!!!! Definitely recommend it and would love to come back.
What an exceptional hidden gem. I'm glad my wife convinced me to come here and not take the first nice looking restaurant down the street 😅 We had an unbelievably soft and juicy octopus 🐙 the porcini tagliatelle from the daily menu and an amazing sword fish 😍 as a grand finish we topped it up with chocolate mousse and panna cotta
Beppe, the former architect and owner of some 20 years makes you feel immediately at home. There is zero pretension. On the walls are a few pictures of notable past diners, one of which was Lou Reed. Beppe describes the dishes, the ingredients, and where they come from. His cook who came out to say hello has been with him since the beginning. The discussion is interesting, relaxed, nothing is forced. We started with fresh ripe olives, sauteed with a bit of garlic and tomato, grilled octopus, and croquettes of mussels and potato, a play on the traditional local tiella. We enjoyed the orecchiette with funghi cardoncelli and pecorino, paccheri with an orata ragú, and finally an egg with white truffle. There was just enough room for the fig semifreddo and a dark chocolate mousse. A perfect experience. Absolutely recommended.
Hidden gem in Bari. One of my most treasured food experiences in Italy from last summer. Ring the bell and feel at home. The 'oste' will make you feel so welcome, give advice and talk with love about the ingredients. Really excellent (sea) food, beautifully presented and oh, sooo tasty. I also love the interior of the restaurant, with the pretty vintage 'centrini' under the plates and the simple stones as a cutlery rest (will now do the same at home). Recommend PerBacco highly!

Excellent food, very good service and high quality wine. Oh yes, and reasonably priced. The mackerel starter was worth ordering on both visits. I'll go back if I get to Bari.
Marvellous food, charming characterful restaurant, experienced service with excellent staff and the best desserts.
Our lunch at PerBacco was great! The appetizer (on the house) was delicious, and there was a wide variety of local, yet refined dishes on the menu. The service was excellent, thank you for the great experience! Special mention for the particular atmosphere as well, it was nice and cosy.
The food was nice & well prepared but I missed the warmth of Puglia. The atmosphere was like someone had passed away that very day! What a bummer for this cosy place… Is this really the south of It…

I had the pumpkin flan and the rabbit with chestnuts. The flan was really good, but the rabbit did not impress me. My bf had a very disappointing pasta (chestnuts, pecorino, and pancetta, I think) that I also tried and we both thought it lacked flavor. The pork filet was a bit chewy, too. As a regular restaurant, I would maybe give 4 stars, but for their prices I would expect better.
