Great menu and service. The room with the view has no air conditioning so on those over 30C evenings you may sweat a little. The Blue seafood risotto and Tiramiago were outstanding.

We were there today, May 1, 2025. Beautiful location, very friendly and attentive staff. Dishes worthy of the place, the capon magro was one of the best I've ever eaten, congratulations. The risotto was very scenic, overall good. The wine list is beautiful, and you can see that a lot of work has gone into it. Overall, a great experience, we'll be back to try other dishes.

Traditional Ligurian dishes revisited with originality (and more). The place is elegant and understated. Attentive and friendly staff, reasonable prices. An experience worth repeating!

I've been wanting to invite my wife to dinner at this wonderful, historic trattoria serving typical Ligurian cuisine, located on the Genoa Quarto waterfront, for a long time, and I finally managed to find a table. Giuseppe Garibaldi ate at this trattoria with his Thousand before leaving for Sicily, and the restaurant's license dates back to around 1700! The restaurant is very elegant and refined, with several interior rooms, and some tables have windows overlooking a beautiful, romantic and evocative sea view. On the first floor is the outdoor terrace, which offers a majestic sea view. This terrace is only open in the summer. They brought us a basket with bread and truly delicious focaccia! We also received two complimentary spinach and almond rolls. The menu is delicious, and we chose: - Starter: Miguel Vergara Angus tataki, soy, and leeks. -First courses: gnocchi with our award-winning pesto -Second courses: fried Gulf fish with vegetable ribbons, and a snapper. Desserts: kiwi sorbet. The quality of the dishes was truly exceptional, exquisite, and delicious, with just the right portions. Praise goes to the welcoming, smiling, competent, professional, and friendly staff, who were never intrusive. Once we'd finished our dishes, they'd ask if we were satisfied, and we always said yes! La porta dell’Osteria del Bai si apre su un ambiente intimo e raffinato. Nell’aria resta un briciolo d’anima di chi ci è passato. Si racconta che Garibaldi qui abbia bevuto l’ultimo bicchiere prima di partire per la Spedizione dei Mille. E oggi, sulla porta del bagno, le targhe di sughero continuano a inchiodare le firme dei volti illustri del presente che passano di lì. I piatti arrivano in sequenza e raccontano il mare senza ripetersi. Alcuni sono coraggiosi, altri entrano già preceduti dalla loro fama - come il Blu del Bai. La Osteria del Bai è da sempre un’eccellenza sulla riviera di levante di Genova , un locale storico e bellissimo. La nuova gestione lo ha reso moderno e di impatto veramente da vedere il mio consiglio è di portarci la vostra ragazza o i vostri amici come si dice in questi casi vale il biglietto. Qualche miglioria a mio giudizio la farei sui piatti per quel che ho potuto assaggiare,ci sta’ di stupire con il bellissimo blu Bai ,mah il piatto con la pasta zero e riduzione di scoglio ,per noi modificata con linguine totalmente insapore . Buono il Gran Fritto ma non da wow . Una nota di merito al servizio veramente professionale.

Recensione limitata ad uno dei vari ambienti: la stanza affrescata che, tuttavia, era troppo buia e decisamente fredda (una stufetta portatile non basta) per rendere l'esperienza piacevole. Menù fisso - era una cena di lavoro. Ottimi i corzetti al pesto.

For the first time in Italy, I ate so badly. The appetizer, "non-stuffed lettuce," sounded intriguing. Instead, it was a total disappointment—it looked like an oil-on-canvas painting, with paint smeared across the plate and tiny pieces of red mullet and squid cut into very thin strips scattered here and there. You could only eat it by mopping up the bread with a little bread! Moving on to the first course, it was made of three ingredients so incompatible it looked like a puzzle. The rice was cooked in white, with blue coloring added (which the waitress explained as "spirulina" (spirulina is dark green, who knows). And on top, again, were tiny pieces of cold seafood (!), what a surprise—raw! 🤣 That dish proudly called "BLUE risotto"... really "blue" only from the coloring. Moving on to the second course, I had the scallops. At least they were warm and soft. At that point, we got up and left, because the service time exceeded all expectations. There were three of us, and we paid €150 (including two glasses of Vermentino) for poor and disappointing food—an exorbitant price. Absolutely not recommended! It's a real shame, because the setting is beautiful, historic (the starting point of Garibaldi with Mille) and deserves a good and capable chef.
