Pier remains one of the very few places where you can eat well-cooked fish in the Savona area. And these are not trivial things. Fish first and foremost. Because the people of Savona are meat eaters and will only eat fish if it's given to them. And well-cooked because you'll realize that on a hundred menus, finding something beyond a mussel stew, seafood, filleted sea bass, spaghetti with three clams, and a bit of stockfish has become a challenge. Not at Pier. Here, His Majesty, fish still reigns supreme. Fresh, seasonal, creative, and with a pricing policy that respects the work and never overindulges.

We chose Da Pier based on the reviews. And we were right. First, you have the menu in front of you and you don't know what to choose. Second, you order and the aromas tell you you're in the right place. Prices are moderately high, but third, while you're eating, you forget about them. The veranda isn't the best—there was room here—but the main building is very nice. The staff is top-notch, and the owner is very friendly.

No doubt, it is the best restaurant in Albisola. The secret is the first quality ingredients, combined in the most palatable way, and with a refined presentation. Atmosphere and staff are perfect. In summer, enjoy the outside tables. One local dish is the best I have ever tried, both for its savoury taste and presentation: the "Cappon magro." I also recommend the "Carbonara di mare", with surprisingly paired ingredients, I let you discover by yourself. You MUST book several weeks in advance for weekend's meals. Absolutely recommended.

Very nice restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. Interesting dishes, generous portions, and excellent quality ingredients. "Solo crudo" is an excellent appetizer, while seafood carbonara and capon magro are top dishes. Reasonable prices for the service provided.

My partner and I dined on August 14th, and after the appetizer, we immediately asked if we could make it for Ferragosto. Luckily, the owner accommodated us by finding us a spot. The cuisine is excellent and different from the usual Ligurian fare; you can see the research behind the mastery of the fish (we didn't try the meat dishes). Generous portions; the seafood linguine is truly filling. I recommend the Umbrina as a main course; I've never tried it before, but it's exceptional. The owner and staff make you feel at home without being intrusive. We are truly very satisfied.

Excellent quality, carefully prepared dishes, meticulous attention to detail, and highly refined with unique combinations. I've never found a place with such high-quality cuisine that served such generous portions—truly, truly generous. I've been several times, and every time there's something new on the menu. Cacio e pepe with tuna tartare, seafood carbonara, octopus amatriciana. Everything was delicious. The seared tuna was one of the best I've ever had, with a combination of excellent sauces and a lovely contrast. The desserts were also excellent. The one in the photo was a three-layer cake with coffee cream, caramel, and Chantilly cream, if I remember correctly. Each time, the price ranged between €35 and €40 per person (and we ate a lot of fish, remember).

Ambiente carino e confortevole, forse avrei tolto un paio di tavoli per avere più spazio e in senso maggiore di intimità. Per quanto riguarda i piatti di pesce (in foto) nella capasanta ho apprezzato i gamberi più che il mollusco in se. Nel secondo, una tagliata di tonno in salsa di frutto della passione e caramello, la salsa sul pesce ha “completamente” nascosto il gusto del pesce. Troppo il tempo fra la consegna dei menu e le prenotazioni.

Hospitality, friendliness, customer service, family atmosphere. Abundant and excellent food at a reasonable price. I had the delicious borage agnolotti and for my second course I had stuffed anchovies. Truly delicious! The menu includes a first course, a second course with a side dish and drinks, or a first course, dessert and drinks. The fixed menu is €12. I recommend it.

Unfortunately, I have to go against the grain of the numerous positive reviews; we didn't have a good time. We ate in the "outdoor" area, which was actually a gray cube with two spotlights full of cobwebs, dated and rickety tables, no tablecloths, tables pushed together, and a door that constantly slammed. We ordered the famous raw fish and were very disappointed. The fish was flavorless, watery, and bland, though to be fair, it was very well presented. The wine list was extremely limited and had very low-quality labels. The one we chose, the "blanc de blanc" (a €20 bottle), was, despite the price, of poor quality, giving us a headache that lasted all night and into the next day. Furthermore, it was brought to the table already open and we didn't get to taste it. The desserts cheered us up a bit because they were very good. The service was friendly but a bit confusing. I'm sorry, but compared to other raw fish restaurants in the area, there's no comparison. Maybe we just happened to be there on an unlucky night...
