We've been eating there for a while. We decided to go there based on reviews, and it was a real success. A guy named Jorge served us. He was very attentive and friendly. We had the €25 menu, which included four starters and rice for the main course. Everything was delicious. Nothing negative to add, except that if we return to the area, we'll eat at your bar. Thank you very much.
It's the kind of restaurant you'll definitely want to return to: for the service, the food, and the price. Since a friend recommended it, we've been several times. They have a wide variety of rice dishes with fish and meat, all of which are delicious, and the portions are more than generous. The appetizers are very original and excellent. We ordered zucchini blossoms stuffed with cheese, and I highly recommend them. They were fried, and the tempura tasted like zucchini fritters and was very light, as were the foie gras toasts. Overall, I have no complaints about any of the dishes. They also have a wide variety of desserts. We usually go as a group of four friends, and we spend about €20 each, which includes a couple of appetizers, two rice dishes, a drink, and dessert. I'll keep coming back and recommending it!
We found this restaurant by chance, and if we're ever in the area again, we won't hesitate to return. We really enjoyed the "secreto" rice; it was very tasty. The "patatas bravas" were also delicious. We didn't like the "patata rellena" as much; it was cold and a bit dry. The restaurant staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome from the very first moment. Unbeatable value for money.
We went on the recommendation of a colleague. I have to say the reception was terrible. It was a rainy day, and we almost felt like we were in the way when we entered with our umbrellas, given the 12 of us. I would recommend that, instead of getting nervous, the women who welcomed us would have made sure to have the necessary buckets for customers. Thankfully, Manolo showed up, and things changed. His attentiveness made us forget what had happened and allowed us to start enjoying his professionalism and excellent food. The price-quality ratio was unbeatable. We will definitely return to continue discovering exquisite dishes that you can't try in a single meal. Congratulations, Manolo, and thank you for your service!
On the way to Teruel, we stopped here on the recommendation of my son. The food was well-prepared. Good products. A normal, adequate amount. The service from the guy was very good, although there was a minor misunderstanding, which he quickly resolved. He was attentive at all times and very friendly; we heard people calling him Manolo. We can't say the same about the lady who told us the dishes on the menu while cleaning the tables. She lacks professionalism in customer service, as she wouldn't even look you in the eye. This needs to be improved. The menu prices are excellent.
Terrific
Precios ajustados con gran variedad de entrantes, tapas y platos, con un toque distinto y apetecible en muchos de ellos. Lo único que no nos gustó fué el PAN. Lástima ya que es un elemento fundamental en nuestras mesas.
Excellent food and very friendly staff, always smiling and quite professional. I would recommend booking in advance, as it gets busy. You can order anything and you'll love it. Everything is very good except the coffee. If you're a coffee lover, don't order it, it's terrible...
We were there yesterday and ate very well. The rice dishes were delicious and plentiful. The only complaint was that there were a lot of flies in the dining room, which were very annoying. The loud banging of the kitchen door was also annoying. This can be fixed, and the place and service are highly recommended.
While passing through Viver, our friend made a reservation for lunch, which was a great choice, as always. Several menus were difficult to choose from, with several starters and a main course. We started with very tender calamari, homemade oxtail croquettes, beyond words... Partridge croquettes with sibrobrada (recommended). Creamy monkfish and artichoke rice, perfectly cooked and very substantial. And to finish, the selection of homemade desserts. Very friendly service, we felt right at home, a highly recommended place for its value. We will definitely be back soon! Thank you for your effort!!
Casa Álvaro is a traditional village bar and restaurant that adheres to many of the typical characteristics of this type of establishment, but also boasts unique features worthy of praise. Its lunch-dinner service, exterior appearance, the classic layout with a bar area and an interior dining room, and its local clientele are all features common to many similar establishments. However, its culinary offerings, the professionalism of the service, and a certain flair for a tasteful dining room are qualities that not all restaurants in this genre bother to cultivate. Manolo, the second generation to manage Casa Álvaro, has created an extensive menu that appeals to all kinds of customers. With a wide variety of tapas and larger portions, salads, a breathtaking selection of rice dishes, and fish and meat dishes, diners can choose from countless options. We opted for tapas: Iberian pork shoulder with soy and ginger, partridge and sobrasada meatballs, artichoke with prawns, rock octopus, mini lamb burgers, sweetbreads, pig's trotter rolls, and a variety of desserts. Everything was excellently prepared, and remarkably, despite the hearty dishes, nothing felt particularly heavy. Delicious. The service was very professional, friendly, and efficient, and the customer service was truly admirable. Long live these kinds of "village" bars/restaurants that put all their effort into doing things right!
We went to Bejís on a road trip and, on a friend's recommendation, booked a table at Casa Álvaro. We were warmly welcomed; it has a bar and two dining rooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. We were well looked after and served throughout, although the starters were perhaps a little rushed. The menu is extensive and interesting, and there are two equally appealing set menus, €22 and €25. We ordered the €22 set menu, which included three starters to share. The duck breast salad was average, I preferred the oxtail croquettes, and the slow-cooked pork jowl carpaccio was very good, although the potato cream was more like a purée. For our main courses, my friends ordered creamy monkfish and langoustine rice, which was tasty, with a hint of smoked paprika. We ordered Iberian pork shoulder with chestnut cream and black trumpet mushrooms, which I really enjoyed, both the texture and the flavor. The cod with honey aioli was also good. The dessert, the walnut tart with vanilla ice cream and ginger, was very good; I enjoyed it. For a restaurant in a small town, they exceeded my expectations. Generous portions, excellent value for money, and the unpretentious yet welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
A village restaurant with homemade food. The waiter was attentive and friendly, even though it was a snowy day and the place was very busy. We ordered the €13 set menu: paella and stew for starters, and a main course of pork shoulder with an egg and fries. For dessert, we had cheesecake and coconut cake. Everything was delicious! It includes a salad to share, bread, and coffee. And when we asked for the bill, they gave us some complimentary shots and candies. We'll definitely be back! 100% recommended.
Comida muy buena y bien elaborada, precios equilibrados, pero el servicio y atención al cliente dejan mucho que desear.
Ok
Such a poor experience. Extremely long waiting time for pasta with pesto and a zucchini primeros (almost 40 minutes) so after we went right for the dessert which was really tasteless, the ice cream tasted so artificially that I just tried it and left it all there and the worst is that 10 minutes after our visit (on a long way by car), I got the worst stomachache I've ever had and even after taking a pill, I was feeling the pesto for the rest of the day. I think it was not fresh at all. Moreover, I am pregnant, so this was an extremely uncomfortable situation as my baby was giving me such a hard time too after this lunch, probably she felt the same was as I did. Maybe I had a bad luck with my choices, but after this experience, I would never come back again
