Excellent pizza whether think Chicago style or thin and cheesy by the slice or a full pizza. You can have it your way and eat inside with a couple of standing chairs only....or eat outside on sidewalk or in covered area in parking lot with several picnic tables. Watch out for the parking patrol... They will leave you a parking ticket even if it's 1 min. Over ... Or if your meter doesn't work. Great pizza..
The pizza was absolutely delicious. I had the pepperoni, good but greasy, you'll need to dab a few napkins. 7.2 out of 10. Wise guy, easy 8.4. Sicilian, perfect 9.1. Sweet gino, always a 9.9. Meatballs a 5.9. Not bad. They could use more beverage choices.
This is not a place to go if you have any common food allergies. They don't have vegan cheese, they don't have gluten free options. However, assuming you aren't bound in that way, the slices range from good to spectacular. The Detroit Deep Dish is absolutely killer, and their pesto is very tasty as well. If you want to grab an order to go, make sure to park around the corner at the south locust garage.
I just want to say this place has amazing pizza, great atmosphere. If you like NY style, Detroit style, or grandma style there's something for you. I also came here and witnessed an angry customer berate the cashier/manager for forty minutes because he couldn't read his receipt correctly that he had been given his refund, and she was so polite and courteous the entire time, even trying to defuse the situation multiple times. And even after being given his refund and realizing it, he still tried to argue with her that his pizza "wasn't in the oven when it should have been" as if that was going to help his justification of the situation at all. Also the cooks in the back were very responsive and seemed very ready to protect her when the customer was getting angrier. Props to the staff here for everything.
Amazing pizza, tiny establishment that is a mad house. Strictly a phone in and pick up place. Shame really. The place is making money obviously. Bigger space, in dinning, craft beers, and this would be a ten out of ten. So for take out 5stars. Service ehh. Pizza is amazing tho.
Slice house has a few bay area locations and i have loved each and every one i have gone to. The pizza is well balanced, and fresh tasting. I love all their menu but my favorites are the New Jersey tomato pie (thin crust lr New York style) and any of the siscilian or detroit style pizzas. Ive gone to this location almost a dozen times and cant wait to go back again. Some of the best pizza I have had in CA.
A great place for classy pizza and Detroit pizza. A very homey little place with limited seating and a limited menu but man, is it a mighty one. Their classic cheese pizza never fails but I got the Hawaiian pizza (detroit style) this time. I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the downtown Walnut Creek area and looking for a quick bite to eat!
For those who appreciate the subtleties of great NY pizza, this is about as good as it gets. The crust has that fresh-baked taste and is crisp enough to fold a slice cleanly, without being dry or burnt. You can taste the zesty fresh tomato sauce through the soft mozzarella, each in perfect proportion. And you know it's great pizza when you go through the whole pie, and the last slice is as satisfying as the first.
Outstanding!!! I’m a fan, especially of the red top Detroit-style pizza. But I’ve also tried some others, and I’ve liked them all: Sicilian, Grandma, Wise Guy, Meatball and Ricotta, Picante, Tomato Basil, and yes, even the Purple Potato. This is my go-to place every Night after weekly band practice (or it was until COVID shut down in-person practice). Limited seating inside, plus some tables outside under a canopy. Or, for true New Yorkers, eat it standing up!
Pizza is pizza, or so i thought. . . . Walking in you see the pizzas on display and are greeted by the person behind the counter . . . The pizzas look amazing! Hard to decide at first but im assured that you can't go wrong with what you choose . . . . I picked the wiseguy to which the person behind the counter says "that's our most popular." He heats it up and hands it over with a grin on his face. I bite into it and oh my god! It does not disappoint! It is delicious. The dough is tasty. The sauce tastes so fresh! The toppings are abundant and create a combination that leaves you wanting more. Bite after bite, i thoroughly enjoy this slice. Needless to say, i went back for two more! If you love pizza you will not be disappointed by their offerings. I cant wait to try the others. If in doubt, just go for the wiseguy, you wont regret it.
Slice House is still one of the best pizza chains in the bay area hands down. Their wise guy is such a great pizza that I get it every time I go. Their XL pizza is huge and if on the fence I'd say just get a slice or two since those are a great value too.
Finally got to try the famous Slice House pizza and we love it! We had no idea how it all worked but when you go in the space is small you can get a slice or more that is ready to go or place an order for a complete pizza. We went with 2 slices each and let me tell you they are huge! Good flavors and the crust was perfect. We would like to order a pizza vs slice next time.
Best pizza I have ever tried in my entire life! I have to get a slice every week! If this restaurant stops existing, I don’t know what I’d do 🥲
I'm looking for some good pizza with my boyfriend (pizza is his favorite food). We saved this place and finally got a try!!! I thought it was a pizza restaurant. That means more tables and servers. (There is outdoor seating, but the weather was too hot) Slice House seems to focus more on casual and pick-up orders. We both had Wiseguy and meatballs. Pizza tastes good, but our best dish was meatballs!!! The meatballs are tender and juicy and not overly seasoned (we don't like it too salty). The tomato sauce was basic, but it was really delicious. Next time, I will definitely try the meatball sub or pasta menu!!!! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat delicious pizza.
Slice House in downtown Walnut Creek is the perfect go-to spot for pizza lovers, offering delicious slices in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an amazing staff and friendly owners who truly make you feel at home. Their passion for pizza and dedication to their customers shine through in every interaction, making the experience even more enjoyable. One of the best things about Slice House is that they always have pizza ready to go. Whether you’re in a hurry or just craving a quick bite, you can count on them to have a hot, fresh slice waiting for you. The variety of combinations they offer is incredible—classic favorites like pepperoni and margherita sit alongside creative options you might not even think of, like unique veggie combinations or bold meaty creations. This keeps the menu exciting and ensures there’s always something new to try. The vibe at Slice House is lively, especially towards the end of the night when the place gets busy. It’s clear that this is a popular spot for people grabbing a slice before heading home or out for the evening. The energy is infectious, and it’s easy to see why so many locals love coming here. If you’re in Walnut Creek and looking for a quick, delicious, and satisfying meal, Slice House is the place to go. With its amazing staff, creative pizza options, and fun atmosphere, it’s a standout spot that keeps you coming back for more. Don’t miss out on this downtown gem!
I wasn’t sure what to expect out of a NY pizza place in the Bay Area but this spot was pretty good and really did remind me of slice houses in NYC. Inside the counter you have various different pizzas to choose from including toppings and styles. They also do a rotating flavor of the day to keep it interesting. On my visit I tried one called the Motorhead slice which was basically a meat lovers but the ingredients were super fresh tasting and the crust wasn’t too bready. Prices here are comparable to Joe’s or Prince Street at around $6-7 a slice but the taste matches that level as well so not bad at all. Excited to have found a new pizza place nearby.
Slice House probably has the best pizza here in Walnut Creek. This is the go to stop when not sure what to have for lunch. Purple potatoes and chicken bacon ranch are my favorite ❤️
Expect a decent wait during busy times at this local hot spot. Is it worth it? Yes! Pizza is hot, fresh and delicious. Teen son loves an authentic basic cheese pizza and this is his number 1 choice. Delicious pizza!
Update: Returned for more, ordered a 20” pie this time, tomato source and basil. Delicious. Enjoyed the pizza here: sampled 3 slices, meatball ricotta, grandma slice and regular/ cheese slice. All was almost gone before I had a chance to photograph…recommended.
This place lives up to hype. The thin, soft, chewy pizza crust is heaven sent! Highly recommend ordering The Wise Guy — Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Sliced Housemade Fennel and Calabrese Sausages, Pepperoni, Ricotta, Hot Pepper Oil, Green Onion — and the heat from the Hot Pepper oil and soft ricotta was amazing! Took an Italian friend and he was highly impressed by this pizza! You can buy pizza by the slice or whole. The place is no-frills, meaning you have to order and pick up your pizza and try to find a place to eat in very limited seating or standing up indoors (not much at all) or try to find a table to sit outdoors in the tented eating area. Out there, it is first come. You need to bus your own table (not the cleanest) and deal with the noise of busy Mt Diablo Blvd. Kid Friendly: There are a couple of high chairs (not necessarily the cleanest). Vegan friendly & Gluten-free friendly: There are options for you when ordering your pizza. There is a good beer and wine selection, but you cannot drink it in the outdoor eating area. There is also a great Monday - Friday 3 - 6 pm Happy Hour Special — order a draft beer, get a free slice of signature cheese or pepperoni pizza.

Have only tried the thin crust so far and it is really the best crust I have had- crispy yet chewy, thin, light and not burnt. They also have a very delicious vegan cheese and vegan pepperoni. Staff very friendly as well and they seem to enjoy working there
Their pizza is really good! Will definitely try other flavors

This place has the best Pizza. Highly recommend the Wise Guy Pizza. I can't go through Walnut Creek without picking up a couple pies, and we can't wait for the new location in Brentwood to open!

This place smelled great so I had to stop in and try! It is a pretty genuine pizza joint but the obnoxious amounts of photos of the owner on the walls make it seem somewhat less genuine. Anyway, the god was good but not as great as it smelled. Prices aren’t too bad and I appreciate the selection of pizza styles as well as the types of by-the-slice pizza available. I’d stop here in a pinch but I’m sure there’s better pizza nearby.
The Food: The pizza here is top-notch. The crust is perfectly crispy and has a great bite. My personal favorite is the Detroit Style—definitely worth trying. Also, don't sleep on the wings! They are a great value, served piping hot, huge, and delicious. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality you get. The Experience: The only downside is the ordering flow. It’s incredibly confusing for first-timers. I stood there for 10 minutes and still couldn’t figure out where the line started or if I was accidentally cutting in front of someone. The staff is friendly, but the layout needs a serious upgrade. Pro-Tip for Newbies: 1. Pick your Pizza Style first (Detroit, NY, etc.). 2. Then pick your Flavors/Toppings. 3. If you're overwhelmed, just point at whatever looks good in the display case—you can't really go wrong. I’ll definitely be back for the food, but I hope they fix the floor logic soon!
I've finally tried the pizza here last night and it was as good as I have heard! I had a slice of the Wiseguy pizza, it was so good! I just had to try another slice so I tried a Detroit slice of Tony Jack. Very tasty but, too much bread for me. I'll be back to try some more!
If you're a pizza lover, Slice House in Walnut Creek is a must-try. The menu offers an impressive range—from New York and Sicilian to Detroit-style slices—all crafted with bold flavor and perfect texture. I had the Wiseguy slice it was absolutely on point: crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor. Service is fast and friendly, even when it’s busy, and the location has a casual vibe that works whether you’re dining in or grabbing a slice on the go. I also loved how clean the space was, and parking was surprisingly easy for downtown Walnut Creek. Prices are fair for the quality—you're paying for real-deal ingredients and a slice that fills you up.
Great place to grab a slice 😉. Wiseguy is a great choice along with purple potato! Service was fast for a slice, whole pizza can take up to 30 mins easily. Definitely a spot to come by when u are in downtown 🤙
Great pizza, but very pricey. That's pretty much all there is to say. The deep dish pizza has an awesome crush with three cheeses on it that is fantastic. Honestly, pictures didn't do it justice. I don't even generally prefer deep dish but this one was *chef's kiss*

Don’t really get the hype about this spot. Ordered a large pizza in store, which ended up taking over an hour and half. The order calling system is complete chaos, you’re basically told to just come back however long they tell you it’s going to take. I had to go back 3x asking if it was ready because it went from an hour, then 20 more minutes, then 5 more minutes. I understand it was peak hour on a weekend but to not have a text system set up to let you know is really out of date and forces you to have to linger around hoping it’ll be ready when they say it will be (which it wasn’t). Then you have to fight through a line every time just to be told it’s gonna be x more minutes on top of what you were previously told. The pizza itself was mid at best, super doughy and there were chunks of it that had no cheese. While the slices were huge, it was just a floppy soggy doughy mess and the flavor was nothing to write home about considering it was $50 for a large. I’ve had real NY pizza, idk what this was supposed to be but it definitely was not that. Plenty of other amazing pizzas options in the area at much better value with better topping/sauce to dough ratio. Get a slice here at best but would not recommend a whole pizza.
After going to the sit-down restaurant in SF, expectations were high. Unfortunately the Grandma slice was far, far too sweet. I’m really not sure why so much sugar was added to the tomato sauce, but it weirdly tasted like a dessert! Ironically the tomato sauce on the fennel sausage slice was way under-seasoned and I had to add the little pack of Parmesan purely for the salt. The tomato sauce on the cheese & tomato slice was weirdly acidic and actually needed a pinch of sugar. I have no idea why all three were so badly made but I felt like Goldilocks. For the high price, these should be better made. The dough is great though.
Pizza was good I suppose, but the tips were far too soggy. Too much sauce on mine, but it might have been the type of slice I got. Also the toppings seemed to be erratically placed, and not in a good way. Some bites were only sauce. I wish they put our salads in a bowl or something other than a to-go container since we were eating in; the table was so small, the flap of the container got stuck on my sleeve while trying to pick up the pizza and my whole salad fell on the floor. They ran out of romaine lettuce (at 12pm, not sure why they'd be out so early) so I couldn't get another caesar. I can't stand arugula so the mixed greens was a no-go. Overall it was just alright, probably won't be back.
Good pizza, decent pasta, and speedy service. The indoor dinning area was quite small, two bench tables and a small square table for two. They have a good sized patio area for outdoor dinning though. I imagine it to be nice to sit out there in good weather. A bit overpriced for a quick bite though.
Ok so I literally just left and I figured this was gonna happen. I asked for a specific piece of pizza because I saw there were slices stacked from the last pizza and I wanted a fresher one. Of course the older slice is grabbed and I politely asked for a different slice. I explained it was my cheat day and I’m literally eating here because I’ve been waiting all week. Of course the switch happens during the warming. I know it’s the piece because I wanted a middle so less bread. And the one given was the end piece that was on top. I’m like I specifically asked you not to and saw you watching me watch you. I’m not gonna make a fuss because it’s too much work I just won’t eat here anymore. Like I’m on a month diet for an even then would be back to $35 medium pizzas from here but now I’m over it. This is disappointing and it makes me not want to even eat the slices I bought because I feel some kind of way. I’m sure they’ll be fine because the food is good, I just won’t be supporting.

Tony should take his name off this place.. It used to be good, but the quality of the pizza has gone completely downhill. The staff (who are generally really nice) do a poor job keeping up with demand for slices. At 8:15 last night, pretty much all they had left were cheese slices. Don’t get me wrong. I love a good cheese slice but these were super disappointing. Dry, hard, excessively chewy, and worst of all – pretty much no flavor at all. By comparison, we ate at Tony’s in the city two weeks ago and the pizza was absolutely amazing (as always).
The slices I purchased were hard, and obviously been sitting out for quite a while they did not taste fresh whatsoever. Even after they were heated period So disappointed as we venture out to San Francisco all the time to Tony's. The best pizza in the world. Sorry Walnut Creek not good and I will not be returning the staff was very nice I did not see one fresh pizza out. I probably should have walked out. But the staff was so kind I just went ahead and purchased. Could not finish one slice had to throw it out
I have been looking at this place for a while now because I've only ever heard good things. But everytime I tried its always ridiculously packed. Takes 30 minutes to order, an hour for the food to be ready, and theres like... 12 seats indoors. Tonight we decided to give it a shot. Placed the order online and drove 20 minutes to get pick it up and take it home. Wait time was about an hour so I left early cause walnut creek is a nightmare on friday nights. Got there early and waited the next 30 minutes for the food. After an hour, the pizza was ready and sitting and the rest of the items were still being made. Went back in another 10 minutes later and they finally called my name with all my items. Drove 20 minutes back home and by that time the pizza was luke warm, the pesto pasta was bland and dry, cheesy garlic bread was Luke warm and the meatball was, decent. It seemed like the pizza had been sitting for a good but before I walked out with it. The pizza tasted good though, honestly. Just colder than it should've after 30 minutes. The most disappointing thing is that I drove past Rocco's Ristorante twice to eat cold pizza and dry pasta when I couldve eaten there and been home sooner.

Went to this place many times before for pizza and it is always awesome and delicious Now the first time i had a issue i entered and the service was not that good and then i see a animal might’ve been a cockroach looked like a cockroach walking across the cheese pizza I pointed it out to them and they replaced it, still very disgusting and then it just felt like the guy didn’t even believe me second time i ordered and i waited nearly 15 minutes just for a slice of pizza and people who were before me were getting their slices wayyy after me very disappointing from such a good establishment
My family and I have had slice house in the past, we decided to pick it up tonight and after tonight never again. The place was packed, understandable it’s a Friday night. I got in line and tried to tell them that I had an order. The lady that “helped” put a hand up and with a heavy attitude looked at me like I was stupid and pointed to the other side and said pickup is over there. Then immediately moved on not even giving a chance to speak. There was no sign showing where the online pickups were. I went to where a small crowd was and hoped it was the right spot, because it’s not like I could actually ask if I was in the right place. The order was already paid for so it was just an easy pass off and go. So we had to wait in an additional line. When we finally got up to the front, the guy just handed it to us. No verification or anything. So she literally could’ve just passed us the pizza. I asked for some ranch and he said he would have to charge me. I figured ok normally side of ranch is like $0.50 but nope, $2.50 for 3 tiny sides that aren’t even filled up all the way. He threw them on top of the pizza not even giving a moment to grab the pizza instead already beckoning the next person. This place has gone downhill so bad. It’s way more expensive for mediocre pizza that used to be phenomenal. If I really wanted a greasy pizza I could’ve just gone to Costco and at least be treated like a human. Overall a terrible experience with pizza just as bad.
I went to this slice house for the first time yesterday and ordered food well over $200. I came from 25 mins away only to have them hand me my order incompletely. They offered me a refund but I felt they owed me more than that since it was their error. I spoke to the manager that calls herself Alma on the phone this morning and she was so stand off, offered no empathy for the situation. Be careful here when ordering a large number of items that you have all you ordered . Apart from Vince who apologized over and over again even though it wasn’t his fault, the other server and the manager Alma appear to be incompetent
It genuinely saddens me to write a review like this because I have actually enjoyed both the food and my experiences here on two previous occasions. However, after what happened on Friday night, I felt it was important to speak up. I recommended this place to my cousins who were visiting from out of town. We drove about 30 minutes to get pizza and arrived roughly 20 minutes before closing. When we walked in, we asked the staff if they were still open and if pizza was available, and we were excited when they confirmed that they were. As we began placing our order, the staff member assisting us with putting the slices in the oven was kind, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, the two staff members working the register were extremely rude and unprofessional. While we were selecting our slices, they were making faces, gestures, and openly mocking my cousins and me. My cousin noticed this behavior, called them out on it, and we ultimately decided to leave the establishment. My feedback for management is to prioritize hiring and training professional, respectful individuals. It is both embarrassing and hurtful to be mocked while supporting a business, especially one I had recommended to friends and family. As for the staff involved (excluding the individual who was helping us with the pizza), my message is simple: grow up.
