Had dinner here after a disappointing experience with another restaurant nearby. This is our second time here. The food, service, and wine were all wonderful!
I visited the Grape Tap last week and fell in love with this place. I was taken downstairs into the coziest, most comfortable dining area I have seen in ages. Everything about my visit from the ambiance to the food was top tier.
We went to The Grape Tap for our 44th Wedding Anniversary and we had a great meal in a great atmosphere. We are far from home but this made us feel very connected to this area. We had the roasted duck and the Tenderloin. As I told Lisa, our waitress, it is as if the person who put the Tenderloin dish together had followed me through life to create my favorite dish. We will visit again.
We had an amazing experience at The Grape Tap in Wasilla last Friday while celebrating a friend’s birthday! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We started with a round of appetizers that were absolutely delicious—each one hit the mark. Most of us ordered the specials for dinner, and every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. A huge shoutout to Lisa and Kristen for their outstanding service—attentive, knowledgeable, and so friendly. Their wine pairings were spot on and really elevated the whole dining experience. If you’re looking for a perfect night out with great food, excellent service, and a cozy vibe, The Grape Tap is a must!
We called in advance as we wanted to have dinner to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. From the minute we arrived, we had 5 star service! From a thoughtful table set-up to the attentiveness of our wonderful server KT, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The Moroccan scallops were divine, as were our entrées. The bottle of wine we selected complimented our dinner perfectly. We wrapped our evening with the deconstructed lemon cheesecake which was a perfect ending. Thank you for another marvelous evening!!!
Me and my Fiancé had an amazing dinner there, they put us in the basement level and it was wonderful! The service was really great and the food was just so delicious, we both loved it and highly recommend this place for a wonderful night out! The lemon cheesecake is the filet mignon of cheesecakes 😁
Alaska The Grape Tap is A locally owned and operated gem! I reserved a table for 5 to celebrate three birthdays, and we were seated in the private, underground wine cellar. The food was exceptional, and the service exceeded 5 stars. The owner even took the time to personally introduce herself, adding a special touch to the experience. If you're traveling in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. The ambiance is both quaint and charming.
I have been waiting years to visit this wonderful gem of a restaurant, but was always passing through with no time in the schedule. I'm so glad that I finally made it happen! The first thing that stood out was the service - a wonderfully professional and smiling hostess checked our reservation and ensured our table was ready, and we were led to our table by none other than the owner herself who seated us and shared a few ancedotes while we got comfortable. The waitstaff was on point, and we really enjoyed the excellent wine menu to choose from. We enjoyed a delicious calamari appetizer that was original and quite tasty, and then we were off and running with the entrees. We were a group of four, and everyone enjoyed their dinner choices immensely! I will speak specifically about the lamb, because it was without a doubt - the best lamb I have had. Very flavorful, perfectly cooked, and a wonderfully subtle sauce that complemented the dish seamlessly! No desserts for us, just great conversation and a lovely bottle of Zinfandel. Highly recommend, and will return!
This is a ‘must experience’ restaurant. Charming 1930’s architecture, warm friendly professional staff, and the best wine list in the state. I’ve been coming here for fifteen years for my birthday, Mother’s Day, wine tastings, all my special occasions. It’s ranked the #1 restaurant in Alaska for a reason. #worthit 🥰
My husband is in a wheelchair and we had reservations on a Saturday night and it was wonderful! Very accommodating to our needs! I cannot say enough about the food. We were a group of four and ordered a variety of things and honestly everything was outstanding. Looking forward to going back!
Small and cozy, as if you were eating at someone's house. Quick and polite service. Menu wasn't limited nor excessive, and adequately had just a little bit of everything. Only glanced at the drinks menu but appeared to have a good selection, of course the wine being the most diverse.
My husband and I went to The Grape Tap on 2-12-22 for an early Valentine's dinner. My husband had the Surf & Turf and I had the Lamb. It was delicious. Great meal, great atmosphere and a wonderful waitress Lisa. Could not have asked for anything better. We had to take our dessert home to eat later.
Service was excellent. Food was good, but not what you'd expect for the price. Plan to break the bank.
A year ago this would have been a 5 star review. Sadly the last couple of visits to the restaurant have been downhill. It was our go to for celebrations that warranted a high end meal however lately it has not lived up to the price you pay. The most recent visit was the most disappointing. A guest in our party was knowingly served frozen beer, food was overcooked and one meal was downright disgusting. Fish that was I presume either old or mishandled/improperly stored. At $10 a beer and an average of $47 and entree you expect great food and service. We were greeted with mediocre food and sad excuses from the owner. We will be giving this place a break for a while in hopes they can rebound back to the great food and service they once had, or prices drop to meet the quality of food received.
I will never go back to this ridiculous place. Completely disrespectful staff, dirty plates and disgusting food. Tiny wrapped dates were hard and undercooked. Lamb was served cold, overcooked, chewy and tasteless. Pork Schnitzel was as tasteless as a frozen microwave dish. The cream carb mystery substance was gummy and burned and the vegetables on both plates were hard and unpalatable. We came for a birthday dinner and sat there for an hour being completely ignored after placing an order for drinks an appetizer and 2 entrees, and were never offered dessert for the birthday boy. This place goes under the top 10 worst places to eat or drink in the Wasilla area. I could go on about the terrible service that was reflected in their food that made us feel unwelcome. One star for location.
Pic was taken not even a full 2 minutes after receiving my food Walked to the car opened it and snapped the pic PHOTO IS TAKEN IN PARKING LOT NOT EVEN 100ft FROM THE BUILDING Called ahead to ask how big lasagna was as it’s $48 Was told “it’s a big pot” Got the $48 lasagna and it’s a slice smaller than my hand…. AGAIN… PHOTO WAS IN THE PARKING LOT NOT AT HOME SO THATS NOT EVEN A 100 ft walk It’s funny how your first instinct is to just place blame like oh sorry it didn’t look as good when you got home. This is in the parking lot… And that’s still doesn’t excuse $48 for a gritty lasagna slice Maybe look into food quality instead of trying to blame every bad review. Can’t find a single bad review where you actually take accountability instead of blaming the reviewer.
