Great authentic Szechwan food! Good service! I stopped by this place and ordered the Cumin Lamb with rice and it did not disappoint. The meat was fresh, tender, velvety, and aromatic with cilantro, red pepper, and onion. The spice had a nice savory kick that you would expect from Szechwan food, but not overwhelming. The ambiance was down-to-earth and no-nonsense--ideal for a great place to savor some authentic eats done right! You can't go wrong by eating here. Much recommended! Check it out.
Amazing food, very authentic. The restaurant is really clean. Food is delicious , the owner is really nice and friendly. Definitely recommend. Will Be back.
As a Sichuan born, this restaurant had fantastic Sichuan dishes that were perfectly made. You can tell that the cooks spent time into this and did a magnificent job. Warning: the amount of each dish is colossal! I will definitely come back soon! Love this place💗!
We love it. This is like our 6-7th time to visit here. The services are always efficient and the food is really delicious. This is definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants!
We have been trying different Sichuan flavor Restaurants since Covid-19. Almost every restaurant that we love before has lost their flavor. Until this one. It is a REAL Chinese Sichuan Restaurant! The same flavor as we tasted in China. Highly recommend.
My friend from Szechwan choose this restaurant. Authentic, spicy, and delicious. Strongly recommend.
Delicious food ( l had a veggie dish and veggie egg rolls). Clean and calm ambiance. Excellent service. Reasonable prices!
I ordered food on Grubhub and picked it up here. Although we’re suffering the COVID-19 Pandemic, this restaurant is still working hard. I want to support them because I love the food here. And I’m happy to see they have prepared pretty well for pick-up service. There is a outdoor little desk, so that I don’t need to enter the restaurant. Beside the door, I noticed a paper record from LA DPH, inspection done.

The food is really good and in large quantities. Had the seafood and tofu soup and the spicy lamb on bamboo stick with a side of white rice. The prices were reasonable and the service was great!

Food is ok. Orange chicken is more like Ketchup chicken. Didn’t have any flavor of orange that I am used to. Egg roll was very cold. I’d recommend try a different place if you are looking for Orange Chicken.
Americanized pallette. This is not a knock against the kitchen. Just don't expect an authentic Szechuan style food here. Portion size is large and food is well prepared.

The food is spicy! Half spicy still made my nose run, and made me drink everything in sight. I don’t eat spicy food just so you have a reference. The food didn’t have as much flavor as I hoped with as much as it cost. If you are looking for take out I do not recommend this place. It is more of a sit down, and eat there kind of restaurant. The staff is very attentive, and the food only took about 10 minutes to be done.
Food is too sweet even if you try ordering a spicy dish. The sauces they use are too thick and sweet.

We paid 18.99USD for the dish of Preserved Pork Belly. it's not Chinese traditional preserved pork belly (腊肉), but it's actually Bacon. Preserved Pork Belly should be with a smoking smell and a dry texture. But this dish is just salty and have a soft texture, which is Bacon. This dish absolutely doesn't deserve the price. Also, it's very salty and the restaurant didn't provide us with water. So I decided not to give tips. The cashier asked me for tips angrily and I explained. She said reluctantly that our tips could be waiver this time. 😓 aren't tips based on quality and service? This is the first time I give no tips in a restaurant. What a bad experience.
It’s the Chongqing Fried chicken we Ordered showed as photo. This is the quality? Also about their House pork Belly, all fat pork. Very Poor quality. Not match the price. Don’t in
Don't visit this restaurant unless you are a super hot chili eater. I ordered the chix szechwan today and there was nothing to indicate on menu that it was a super hot spicy dish, as a matter of fact, it was NOT edible due to super hot chili dish, most of it ended up and dumped on a trash can. The girl server/ cashier was not friendly nor courteous, does not even know how to say a simple "thank you" extremely obnoxious, We definitely will never patronize this restaurant establishment ever anymore!! I would select a zero (zip) star if there's an option....

Title: Terrible Service, Rude Staff, and Unsafe Food Review: My family and I had an extremely bad experience at Szechwan Kitchen (Covina), and I want to share it so others can avoid the same mistake. The woman answering the phone is very rude and even yells at customers. If you ask about the food, she gives excuses like “our meat is always like that” or “every batch is different,” instead of answering politely. She even blames the customer. The food quality is terrible: • The fish often smells spoiled and sour. • Twice-cooked pork is almost all fat, and the cumin lamb is at least half fat as well. • Chicken dishes come undercooked, with blood inside. • One time, my niece ate here and got diarrhea. My father also got sick after eating their food — our whole family had stomach problems after one meal. I later checked reviews on Google and Yelp, and many other customers have reported the same issues: bad fish, fatty meat, and poor service. This shows it’s not just our bad luck — it’s a repeated problem. Between the unsafe food and the aggressive, unfriendly service, this restaurant is one of the worst experiences we’ve had in the area. I will never go back, and I hope others read this before ordering from them.
Title: Extremely Rude Service and Poor Food Quality Review: I used to order from Szechwan Kitchen (Covina) several times in the past, but my experience today was the last straw. When I called to order, I politely asked about the fat content of certain dishes like 回锅肉 (twice-cooked pork) and cumin lamb. I simply wanted to know if the meat would be mostly lean, and even said it’s fine as long as it’s within a reasonable range (about 1/3 fat). Instead of answering professionally, the woman on the phone became impatient and dismissive. She told me “you can’t choose” and “if you care so much, don’t order.” Then she abruptly hung up, saying they were closing — even though I was already placing my order. This is not the first bad experience: • Several times the fish was not fresh and had a sour, spoiled smell. When I asked, I was told “酸菜鱼 (pickled fish) is supposed to smell like that.” • Their grilled fish was also not fresh, and the bones were still stuck to the flesh. • Chicken dishes arrived undercooked, with visible blood. The combination of poor food quality and extremely rude customer service is unacceptable, especially in the U.S. where customers expect respect and basic professionalism. I will not be ordering from here again, and I recommend others think twice before spending money at this restaurant.
I called szechuan kitchen with the intention to order. As I was ordering, I asked if their lamb cumin had a lot of fat, or around how much fat they’d have. However, instead of responding properly, the waitress told us off. We were already half way into our order, and she never mentioned anything beforehand. She suddenly told us, in a bad attitude, that the kitchen is closed and won’t be taking our order. I simply ASKED if they would have a lot of fat or not, and around what we should expect. Really rude, considering we were almost finished with ordering before she rudely refused service. We would’ve been fine if she told us from the start, but it’s very obvious she used the kitchen closing as an excuse.
Our family of 3 went to this restaurant and loved the feel of it and the food. Seemed great. The check came for $130 and the worker felt the need to let me know that the check did not include the tip. I thought that was odd and rude. However I paid and left a tip. A week or 2 later I went again and wanted to try other dishes. Upon arriving the worker didn't like that I wanted to sit at the larger table instead of one meant for 4 people. I let her know we needed more room because we would be ordering a lot of food. She seemed bothered. We ordered so many things that we barely had enough space on the table, just as I had thought. The check came and it was a bit more then we had planned for and had enough to only pay for the meal. Couldn't afford a tip. As we started to get into our car the woman came running out... yelling that we didn't leave a tip and asked why not. I told her we spent so much that we didn't have a tip to give and we apologized. She was upset and said "well you can leave a few dollars or something". I repeated that I was sorry, but we didn't have any more money. We spent over $160 in there and we just didn't have any extra. She walked away very upset while raising her hands as though she didn't want to hear it. I feel she was very rude and embarrassed us in public after chasing us to the car as if we hadn't paid or something. The service wasn't great to begin with since she was bothered by where i wanted to sit. The place was empty, why was it a problem. I won't be going back in the future. After spending $300 in less then 2 weeks and a pick-up order where i spent $25 on one itemin between those times, but she was upset over a few dollars i couldn't afford for a tip.
Most of the negative reviews for this restaurant are about them forcing customers to pay tips or charging tips on the card without consent. I experienced this myself — absolutely disgusting! The food was okay at first, but with this kind of dishonest practice, it’s no surprise they’re heading toward closure. They really need to reflect on what they’re doing.
