Absolutely loved this place! The tacos were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The burger was juicy, cooked just right, and came with some amazing toppings. Great beer selection too—ice cold and plenty of options to choose from. Everything hit the spot. Definitely coming back!

Stopped by after a walk without a reservation on a Sunday and there was a bit of a wait but it went by quick. Loved sitting the the outdoor area at the high top tables with our dogs. The staff was so kind and accommodating, they brought out a water bowl for each and they even have a little dog menu. We ordered the lobster rolls and burgers which were both good. I loved the strawberry popping bubbles spritzer, it was so refreshing. I also got the truffle fries which were good. They also have a brunch buffet that looked really good if you were hungry.

This place was a dream! The zoo was too crowded so this was one of the most unexpected delightful surprises I’ve ever had While no reservation was needed I made one through google. this place felt like going on a mini vacation. It was gorgeous , clean with scenic views and plenty of space and lots of parking. I felt very glamorous dining here. The food was delicious! Our server Amanda as well as the hostesses were so friendly and kind!! Amanda was such a sweetheart I wish nothing but the best for her. In fact my husband ordered a drink that wasn’t quite his taste and when we gently mentioned it (not wanting anything at all) but Amanda was so kind she removed it from the bill and made sure he had a drink he really enjoyed. The food came out promptly nice and fresh. I suggest the chicken tacos and truffle fries! After brunch we enjoyed a stroll with others by the lake! It was a beautiful day and iir didn’t even feel like I was in New Jersey!

Can’t go wrong with their happy hour with affordable prices. Beers $4 and small dishes to share are $6-12. I’ve been here in different occasions, usually during lunch or happy hour. Always a good casual dining experience after a walk at the park.

Didn't eat at the restaurant this time. Went for miniature golf. The website said the little red train was free but you had to pay the zoo fee to get in. The rude lady at the first booth wouldn't let us in even though it was only 6:40pm. She was rude and shut her booth down early. The guy in the next booth let us in. He was so nice. The ridiculous price of $19 per person was reduced to $9. Had so much fun on the little train. The conductor was fun and pleasant.

Dined there for the 1st time and enjoyed it thoroughly. Try the appetizer Tao Roasted Cauliflower!!!.. Atmosphere was warm and inviting especially if you love fireplaces.

The Food and Service was Amazing! Kinda shocked after seeing the reviews of others and the overall rating. Management must have flipped this place around. We were kindly greeted by the hostess and seated quick. Our waiter Johnathan S. was just Fantastic!!! Friendly, Kind, Respectful, Funny, just overall Terrific! Updated us on the status of our food from the kitchen as well as checking up how everything was. Wish there were more just like him. We kindly commended him to his GM Tilisa, as she too was also speaking with. The environment was very peaceful and relaxing. Highly recommend their Beef Short Rib! And a nice walk around the lake after eating. 10/10 wish there were more places around like this.

I attended a wedding event there in August 2025. It was well put together and i really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were very courteous and willing to assist with anything. Im definitely visiting again.

We had a lovely lunch on the patio at McLoone’s Boathouse with a beautiful view of the reservoir—The Short Rib French Dip was absolutely delicious and definitely a highlight—highly recommend it! The Thai Chicken Wings were also very tasty. The Tuna Salad was just okay, but overall we enjoyed our meal and the relaxing atmosphere. Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Great place for a laid-back lunch with a view.

This restaurant McLoones Boathouse is an absolute gem with stunning decor and a warm, inviting ambiance. My family and I had a wonderful Saturday morning. Amazing atmosphere and one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. Very good food. Great people around, especially Amanda and Chelsea. Cute and friendly smile as well! Thank you to everyone for this special day.

We had had a reservation for lunch after my sons graduation, it was great! They offered a buffet as so many graduates celebrate there. We ended up doing the buffet and it was wonderful. The food was great! The dessert was great! Thank you for making our special day even better!! I only have one picture from the dessert😃

This is the most lovely place!! Our sever Amanda made it especially lovely bc it was my birthday and made it so splendid with a bright little fireworks bottle display! Her warm delightful service brings us back repeatedly. Please ask for her. She will make your experience a very enjoyable one! The drinks are flavorful as is the food. The scenery and views are picturesque. 10:10 do recommend to a friend!

This restaurant has found the key and unlocked the answer to "what is a fine dining restaurant? ". From the moment i arrived i felt as though i had come to a members only club or resort. The individualized first class service is genuine because workers like Hanifah make you feel special. You can conclude she loves what she does and makes it obvious she's fit for this restaurant. The teamwork that Nathan and Kerlens displayed proves that it takes everyone to do their role for a restaurant of this caliber to run seamlessly smooth. The food quality and presentation met the level of fine dining standards. All in an ambient and very scenic setting. The GM Denna obviously set expectations that her staff is qualified and capable of meeting. I really really enjoyed this full spectrum dining experience after i left my only thought was coming back again. i was so impressed that my gratuity exceeded the actual total bill.

Had a fabulous meal of Betty Salad, Thai Shrimp and Clams with Attitude. Our server, Amanda was attentive and a complete pleasure to have taking care of us. Always love the atmosphere, but yay! A guitar at the bar on Saturday night! Feels like they've stepped things up some since the Fall, not that it was bad, but this was really, really nice.

My family and I came here for my dad's birthday dinner and we all enjoyed it very much! Our waiter Amanda was so lovely! She and other staff came out singing with a sparkler for my dad's birthday and even gave him a bday card signed by all of their staff. We were all impressed with our drinks and food. Everything was delicious including the dessert. Thank you Amanda!

My wife and I came in with our 1 year old son. The staff, especially Najii, were friendly and welcoming. Our son loved the Mac and cheese and there were plenty of other options on the kids menu too. Our food and drinks were great as well. Will definitely be back in the future!

This restaurant is beautiful, inside and out. The building itself is something to behold, and the location right on the reservoir provides a lovely backdrop to the dining experience. The food is delectable in taste and presentation. The service, on the other hand, was rather slow during my one visit. We were there for a 3:30 pm dinner on a cold Sunday, probably lending to the place being mostly empty. That certainly made for a surprise with how inattentive the service was. That said, everything else was wonderful, and since this was my only visit (I don't live nearby), I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt and rate it five stars.

Absolutely fabulous birthday celebration! Beautifully decorated for the holidays too. Amanda was a star - she went above and beyond! And everyone else was great too. The food and drinks were incredible. Had not been here in a really long time and was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. Will definitely be back!

Her warm personality and professionalism turned a great meal into a memorable night. It’s rare to come across someone who clearly takes so much pride in their work and in making guests feel welcome. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — every dish we tried was a hit. But honestly, it was Hanifah’s hospitality that will bring us back again and again. Highly recommend this place — and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Hanifah, you’re in for a top-tier dining experience!

We had such a great experience thanks to our server, Amanda! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right. Amanda had great recommendations and checked in often without ever making us feel rushed. Her warm personality really made our meal that much better. We celebrated my mother in law’s 75th birthday here during Thanksgiving Day. The buffet was delicious. The restaurant was beautifully decorated. And most of all, the staff was so attentive and kind. We stayed longer and no one rushed us and helped us take family pictures. You all made my Mother in law’s birthday so special. Thank you and God bless!

Went there for Valentines day dinner. What a beautiful place. Its got vibes of a lodge with a nautical theme. Food was excellent and service was great. I got the flounder special and it was perfect. The restaurant has plenty of seating but I would get reservations in advance. The outdoor views are beautiful too as it overlooked a "frozen" lake. I bet the views are great during daylight and other seasons. Will need to come back during the summer.

My girlfriend and I went out for her birthday/Valentine’s Day (same exact day) today, we’d never been to McLoone’s Boathouse before, and we had such a wonderful meal! The ambiance and decor is very inviting, and we enjoyed hearing some live music accompanying our meal. Najii, our server, was incredibly kind and attentive, and had a number of delicious suggestions vis a vis wine and our meals. For appetizers, the signature crab cake was extremely tasty and the burrata crostini was delightful. For our entrees, the “surf and turf” special was phenomenal, the butternut squash ravioli was delicious, and we highly enjoyed our special Valentine’s Day drinks. A huge thank you to McLoone’s Boathouse and Najii for making this a birthday/Valetine’s Day dinner to remember!

I had an amazing experience at McLoone’s Boathouse thanks to Najii! He was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we sat down. What really stood out was how he had the entire menu memorized — he answered every question confidently and made excellent recommendations. Service was fast, attentive, and professional, and he truly made sure we had a great experience from start to finish. Najii is a huge asset to the restaurant, and we’ll definitely be back!

AMAZING!!! This place never fails to surprise me. The interior design is beautiful, especially at night when we went and the lights inside are dimmed. The menu is PERFECT. It has something for everybody with its items ranging from the classics to unique. And, the service was FANTASTIC. We had Majii, he was knowledgeable and perfectly attentive. Food came fast and was delicious. Overall, 10000/10 stars!!!

Conveniently located near the zoo, so you can grab a very scenic bite after the day visit. The food, views and service alwas good. Ambiance didn't match the vibe of the place but they made up with good music and nice service

Went for a birthday/ Christmas brunch with friends and family. Although it was far for me and a bit crowded as expected during the holidays, it was lovely! Very festive, buffet was kept replenished, fresh and clean. Waitstaff was professional and attentive to our big party of 10 and a great time was had by all. Will certainly be back again!

We dined at McLoone’s Boathouse on a Saturday after visiting the zoo, and I must say, the ambiance is stunning. We opted for an outdoor table with beautiful lake views, which truly enhanced our experience. While the restaurant wasn’t overly busy, I did notice that two sections were closed for private events, which unfortunately slowed down the service. Our server was friendly, but she didn’t take notes on part of our order, resulting in a few mix-ups with our dishes. The burger was decent but didn’t leave a lasting impression. However, the fries were a hit, as were the chicken fingers, which the kids loved. My standout dish was the steak with burrata salad—both beautiful and delicious. We also tried the bucket drink, and it was amazing! Overall, while there were a few hiccups, the lovely view and some standout dishes made our visit enjoyable.

had a much better experience this time than my last visit. food was better and service was amazing! Hanifa did such an awesome job and definitely made everyone feel welcomed. She was professional but interacted with us in such a friendly and pleasant way. as for the food: the appetizers were a delicious start - calamari, general tso cauliflower, oysters, flatbread etc and the drinks were good too. For entrees i got their mahi mahi which was cooked flaky perfect and still juicy. Rice was great with coconut and green curry! even the dessert (chocolate cake and carrot cake) was a perfect sweet ending. Good job this time McLoone’s!

My family's visit here was fantastic, on several accounts. We were a fairly large group, including several children, coming off a hot and hungry walk around the nearby reservoir. We didn't have any reservations, but we were happily surprised to find they were willing to seat us. Once we entered the space, it was easy to see why. There's a TON of space, both indoors and on their spacious patio. The indoor space is separated into several dining rooms (each with its own name and theme), with an upscale lodge-like feel that somehow both felt casual and nice enough to imagine the restaurant as a potential event space. The menu read like a fancier diner menu, with plenty of old favorites done well. I ordered the Betty salad, which was a beautifully composed mix of greens, apples, craisins, and candied walnuts. I find a lot of restaurant salads to be overdressed, but McLoone's got their proportions right. My husband's turkey panini was also eaten without complaint. The bread was crunchily toasted and the cheese melty enough to ooze all over the turkey. Around the table, there was common praise for the fries here, which are hot, well-fried, and super starchy. They were good enough that anyone who didn't get fries with their order promptly regretted it. There's been some grumbling about service in some of the reviews here, but I had no issues with the service we received. Our waiter checked in with us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and silently swooped in to refill water glasses without our asking. Best of all, our bill at the end seemed pretty reasonable for the number of people we had in our party. We had a fantastic impromptu lunch and would definitely return the next time we come to the reservoir or Turtleback Zoo (also nearby).

Great looking place. Right next to few waterfalls. Food is good , and I understand it is busy still service very slow. We waited an hour for main course. My wife got very dirty stake knife. Service is important as food.

Good food and helpful and friendly service ! Ilana helped me make a reservation for a party of 7 on a Saturday afternoon before the dinner rush. Hanifah was our waitress and she was wonderful, there were some minor food mistakes that they corrected immediately. Raw oysters were good and I had the summer salmon. So delicious! There were a lot of gluten free options as well ! Would come again

1st time here. Very nice atmosphere. Took my mom for her birthday she thought it was to dark. But it's part of the ambiance. Food was good. I had mule cocktail 🍸. Very pricey. The staff was accommodating to my moms needs she was struggling to walk to the table and they made room for her close so she didn't have to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant. So thankful for that.

We love coming here for Friday happy hour, at the outdoor bar. It’s the perfect spot to sit outside and unwind. Our absolute favorite is always the calamari with fried hot cherry peppers and lemon pepper aioli. So delicious and some of the best calamari (and the main reason we keep coming back). The mussels, buffalo wings, and short rib frites are also solid choices and never disappoint. That said, the place does get quite busy during happy hour and McLoone’s seriously needs to have more servers and bartenders on staff. They are constantly running around and busy with so many people, so the service can be pretty slow at times. Still, they’re always friendly and genuinely apologetic for the long wait.

Above average food in a fantastic setting. The lodge setting with a giant fireplace, wooden beams and views of the lake were outstanding. The 8oz Boathouse burger was pretty good but not exceptional. The New England style bun was the best part of the Lobster Roll as the sandwich was too heavy on the sauce. The Caprese Panini was a hit. Great homemade chips with sandwiches. Worth a visit just to see the building.

The signature cocktails selection was good except for the. tenjaku-75- 16 ( Tenjaku Japanese whiskey, lemon juice, vanilla simple As an average customer how would I know that there is champagne in this particular cocktail. And one of our group is allergic to champagne. . Clearly a thumbs down. Service was excellent though. Najii was great. Super attentive. Enjoyed our brunch other than cocktail situation.

Najii was excellent. His personality and attitude was wonderful. Cocktails need work. Appetizers and salad were great. The steak was good, but the salmon was no good. The crab fill in was too salty and the spinach was awful.

Convenient if you are going to the zoo next door. The atmosphere is beautiful and we expected a more upscale restaurant. Things were clean and well kept. The staff was somewhat distracted and things took a very long time. The food was good and the selection was somewhat limited. Their bartender had some trouble making simple drinks consistently. We will find another place to go next time we are in the area.

I went this past Sunday. I have been here numerous times and this past Sunday was my last. The food was horrible. They serve powdered down eggs. You think with their prices the food would be better. Brunch was absolutely disgusting. They had dried out pasta and chicken was horrible. I never had a bad experience here. This was the worst and last time they will see me. You should be ashamed of yourself for the amount you charge and ur POWERED down hospital eggs.
