Food was great, the kitchen staff did a superb job. Drew handled our orders with great care. Definitely returning with the family 😁
We had a good experience at the Lighthouse tonight. We were at a table of 10 and Amber was an amazing server. The food was great as well as the service. Plan to frequent this restaurant.
I've come here several times with friends for dinner and it's always been an all-around great experience each time. Fun beachy atmosphere, great food at great prices, kind & helpful staff.
2nd time here and the food was so very good! Our server was knowledgeable and personable! Would definitely come again!
Fabulous MUST TRY in Lake Sumpter!! Best, fast, amazing service by our server Justin!! Food was fast, fresh, mounded high and delicious!! Nachos w beef packed, and loaded w fixins! Our chix wings were prepared just as we like..plain w sauce on side..bleu boom, hot, and bbq sauces were hearty portions!! Justin, the food, and the amazing food are all terrific!! Just remember not to feed the Gators!! Oh and if your from New England you'll love all sports memorabilia!!
Great spot! Lighthouse Point Bar and Grille has a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and consistently good food. The views are lovely, the portions are generous, and everything we ordered was fresh and well prepared. A perfect place to unwind and enjoy a casual meal — we’ll definitely be back.
The staff was very friendly. There were so many people here, but we were setting down ordering within ten minutes. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly. The chicken and shrimp jambalaya was amazing, the whole belly clams we're yum. And the fish tacos were the biggest I have seen anywhere AMD that too was great. I definitely believe we will be back and I definitely recommend to anyone. Plus, great view of the water and breeze, this was a great time!
It is my first time here, and I am a fan now. The service on this Sunday noon was very good. My food came out quickly and exactly as ordered. The atmosphere is comfortable, the decor is nautical theme and quite pleasant. There was plenty of parking and easy access to the restaurant. They brought us plenty of their great, complimentary, corn bread which was wonderful. The price for my lunch was 15 bucks with tip... and I brought half of it home. Go. You will like it.
The food was really good I had the fried shrimpboat and was pleasantly surprised the rice was well Flavored and the shrimp were really good the only thing that could have improved it was if some of the Pinaple cut from the shell was returned to the dish. The keylime pie ws good but for $9 I would hope for an excellent slice. Nice view
Popped in for an impromptu lunch. The Crab and corn chowder was absolutely delightful! Had some peel.and eat shrimp and chicken tuna and they were both heavenly. Planning our next trip back.
The wings are incredible! Also loved the special they have going, $10 for a pound of peel and eat. Everything we had was delicious. Our server, Gracie, was very attentive and took amazing care of us. Love sitting by the water, and our son had a great time too. They're very kid friendly, even gave him a toy to play with. Can't wait to come back!
My eight sisters and I had lobster feast at Light House Point and Grill last month and we had a great time. They also have good desserts such as the flourless chocolate cake. Wr were served by their friendly staff, Jordan. We will dedinitely recommend this place and we will come again!
My first time in The Villages; came to the Lighthouse for lunch with my dad and stepmom. This is a great little lakeside restaurant; well lit with a great energy, nice covered outdoor seating, and a fast and friendly staff, serving excellent food! I really enjoyed my grouper sandwich and the huge portion of fries...drinks are served in little mason jars; that was pretty cool. Overall an enjoyable and photogenic experience, though I checked...you can't get into the lighthouse.
Happy hour oysters only $10 a dozen every day!! My go to when I'm at The Villages. Staff is super! Atmosphere is excellent!
Me my husband and my 3 year old daughter went out to lunch today here I've been wanting to try this place service was good. We sat outside although it was a little hot of course (they did have fans ) the view was beautiful but most importantly food was great I had the lobster roll It was fresh and a lot of meat my waitress was good and the manager was sweet when we first walked In to be seated we will definitely be back! 😊
Food was Great, enjoyed a night out with my wife for Anniversary. Watched the Sun set and listened to 789s band. Service was HORRIBLE, felt like we were getting ignored! Young girl named Kristy, should find a new profession. Server # 329
9/23: Another great lunch today. Excellent service and nice views. They have really good clam chowder. The fish tacos were excellent as well as the lunch fish & chips. Great lunch today. Our server was Pam and she couldn’t have been nicer. Delicious clam chowder, baked haddock and husband had whole belly clams. We both felt like we were back in New England!
My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch today and was so glad we did. The shrimp and haddock were absolutely wonderful. I love the coleslaw a n d the French fries were real potatoes and not salted, which we appreciated so so much..Great place for Seafood our No 1 place to go. Our server Jenna L was attentive without being over bearing and a joy. We will be back.
First time at this place and my gosh it was awesome. Arrived from Eustis and was not feeling so well. The staff and I mean everyone took care of me to make sure I was ok and gave me service above and beyond what was the norm. Food (crab legs) was perfect and I was made to feel like my friends were taking care of me. Thanks to everyone and my wife and I will be back! 1-1-26, Amazing that they were open for News Years. Great food and staff! Happy New Year!!
We loved this place!!!!!! The food was soooo yummy. I had haddock and a lobster tail and loved it. 2 friends had the Maine lobster special and my husband had shrimp and we all loved our food!!!!! Our waitress Sherrri was amazing!!! The place was packed solid so I’m sure all the waitstaff were busy but they ALL had smiles. Sherri is rare!!! If you’re a Patriot and or a New England sports fan this is the place for you. I love this place.
Beautiful setting on the lake at Lighthouse Point. Loved sitting outside and watching the ducks and birds go by. Great food, just right portion and a nice glass of wine. The beautiful sunset was very enjoyable to watch as the evening came to a close.
We went with no reservation during peak dinner time. A long wait was expected! The staff was super accommodating, even with so many people crowded in the waiting area. It was cold out, so everyone was waiting inside. Once we got a table everything was perfect. The atmosphere was very comfortable, and the service was flawless! I had the fish tacos, and they were so good!
Great service and food. Breaded haddock plate and tropical salad were delicious. Military discount only on Wednesdays.
We've owned in The Villages for 15 years and never made it to the Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille to eat until recently. Always thought it too crowded and heard mixed reviews about the food. The Shrimp Abyss - recommended by our awesome server, Kala - was delicious as were the mussels and both were a good value. The wait was brief and enjoyable with drinks outside on the deck and our table on the water was the perfect panacea for our guests visiting from the frigid north. Outstanding service, great ambiance, food came out in a timely manner. Restaurant dining at Sumter Landing at its finest. Thank you!
Tasted amazing! Everything cooked to perfection, clam chowder was just out of this world. Service was excellent, she took such good care of my 85 year old mother who ordered the huge seafood platter and was in heaven! The you all, You made our night. We will become regulars❤️
I’m happy to share with others about good times at Lighthouse point bar and Grill. I find everyone friendly. Their service is top-notch. The food is excellent. The fish tacos are a must try. They are the best I’ve ever had. Haddock fish dinner is also excellent, plus the whole main lobster special on Friday.
Party of four for lunch. 10 minute wait to be expected on a Friday for lunch. Seated & ordered mussels, Ahi Tuna salad. Mussels were fantastic, salad was very good. Everyone else had seafood & were super pleased with meal size & quality. Waitress was busy & kind of short when I asked her for the check but nothing major.
Food was great. Very generous portions. I had the fish on a pretzel bun. There were 3 pieces of fish. I loved the fries. Back for another family dinner onChristmas Eve 2025 an absolutely beautiful evening. Fried shrimp was great. Service very good. Now we are off the Lake Sumter Landing to enjoy some live music
Jen.made a great recommendation with the GLUTEN FREE BREADED HADDOCK. any gluten free peeps out there can understand it is just unrealistic to believe that you will get any breaded seafood again in your life. This place is the real thing. Apparently the owner is gluten free and believe me it shows. My wife's shrimp tacos were outstanding and Moms corn and clam chowder was great as well. Good wine list and low prices with large helpings are surely going to make these "future Villagers" very regular customers.
First, our server Amber, was outstanding. She stayed on top of everything. We started with some clam chowder as an appetizer and it was excellent. Our entrees were grilled salmon, baked haddock, and a fried shrimp platter. My uncle and wife loved their salmon and fried shrimp meals. My baked haddock was good but a little overcooked. Between the service, the atmosphere, and the views, it was a great experience that I highly recommend.
We had a late dinner here with myself, my wife and my daughter. My wife and I split the haddock sandwich which was enough for both of us. Our daughter had the shrimp po-boy and said it was great. The view in the evening is the sun went down and the lights came on in Sumter. Landing was excellent.
We stopped for a girls lunch while visiting my family. Had about a 15 minute wait which really wasn't that bad. It sits right on the water which is absolutely beautiful. The establishment was clean. Our server was very attentive and personable. We had an issue with our fish tacos and she immediately rectified the situation. The fresh muscles were fresh and tasted amazing. The Oyster Rockefeller was good but they weren't shucked great so pieces of the shell had to be taken out of your mouth when chewing. I had the beets and mozzarella dish. The beets could have been fresher. The fish tacos were really good.
The restaurant is located along the boardwalk of Lake-Sumter Landing in The Villages. My favorite attractions are the amazing views and the seaside theme. The service is always warm and friendly. The food is delicious. However, it is a bit pricey, but that is not unexpected for seafood with waterfront views and amazing sunsets located in the heart of Lake Sumter Landing.

Was here for lunch...Lobster Roll Lunch Special with Fries and Pineapple Cole Slaw. The Lobster Roll was small and Lobster was salty. The bun resembled a piece of white bread folded and hardly toasted. The fries and slaw were excellent. Since my server never checked back with me until she delivered my bill, I was unable to tell her I was unhappy with the Lobster Roll. 🦞
The Lighthouse is a Seafood Restaurant on the water. They have good food, a great view and helpful, pleasant staff. The Food - one of our party had his meal come out about 5 minutes after ours, not ok. BUT .... as for the actual food. One person in our party had the Special. Blackened Swordfish on a bed of rice served with brussel sprouts. She said is was very good but it was not so much blackened. It came with a (rasp)berry sauce and was a bit sweet. But again very good. The next was the fish taco. Three soft shell tortillas with plenty of fish and cabbage. It was a bit wet but again very good. It also came with a side of hot, crispy fries. The third had the garlic, parmesan Buffalo wings. And he added a side of parmesan fries. All, very good. I, the vegetarian, had very few choices. Other than salad that I consider a side, you had to modify your food. I chose the quesadilla without meat. Not much else to choose.. But it was good, again a bit wet, but good. The restaurant - it has handicap accessible parking, entrance and restrooms but you have to enter from the parking lot. The other way has stairs.
Great place for seafood with a view. Inside happy hour is very lively and noisy. Deck was much quieter (our preference).
It is lovely eating next to the water. We had reservations but still waited a 1/2 hour.
It was fairly pricey for the quantity of food given but it was tasty. The crab cake was shaped like a hockey puck, whereas traditionally I'm more familiar with a sort of lumpy dome. They were good though with a decent amount of crab. The drinks were on point as well. Make a reservation or you'll be waiting, it gets crowded as it often has live music. The atmosphere is good, relaxed and they offer deck seating along the water. They do have a parking lot but the golf carts take up a lot of the spaces.
The atmosphere is very nice, clean and friendly. Like many places in The Villages, they are short on help. I've been here twice, one for lunch, once for dinner. Baked haddock and swordfish meals are good. I'd say the portions are decent. If you want cocktails, I'd rethink that choice, very expensive, very small drinks. Have beer or wine. Pay with cash because they charge 3% for using a card. It's very nice out of the patio.
We haven't been here in quite a while. I wanted to try their lunch specials. The biggest surprise was the outside seating. Everything is brand new! They've got square tables, round tables and high top tables. Very nice. Very sturdy. I had the Lobster roll sandwich cole slaw and fries. They were pretty good. Just don't go looking for chunks of Lobster. My wife had the fish and fries. Also good. I was reminded to come on Wednesday for 25% Veterans discount. All in all a pleasant visit.
NO Gluten Free options - wing it was what I was told by hostesses. Food was ok. I had the filet mignon that had a weird tasting sauces smeared all over it - maybe garlic butter with Parmesan? Not sure but definitely not good. I asked for nothing on it, waste of $50! Service was ok. Not busy but took 10 minutes for the server to get to our table (2pm sat at table) Atmosphere was load but great Boston decor!
We stopped for lunch. Chose to eat outside/waterside - beautiful day today. Didn’t wait long for the drink order, is wasn’t packed, but it seemed busy on the outside patio. We ordered shortly after. Food arrived in a reasonable time and it was warm, not hot. As the food arrived, we heard another waiter describe the specials - we never thought to ask and it wasn’t offered by our waitress. Shame, the loaded Bloody Mary sounded good! Note they charge you if you pay by card. I understand they are looking to recoup their cc expense, but it just causes me pause for future visits. Also, it is one of the few restaurants that does not pipe in music. All in all, pleasant lunch, reasonable prices, good seating and other options for non seafood people. Will we return? Maybe, just to see how consistent they are and with cash in hand!
I went to this place to watch Sunday football because it's known to be where they show the Patriots and play the sound over the loudspeaker. And that indeed they do but you better have a reserved seat. I was lucky enough to find a space at the bar to have a drink and a "meal" for the first half. The place was busy but the service was keeping up, and the kitchen and service team seemed very well coordinated. I've been here twice and have been disappointed with the food twice. I've ordered the lobster cakes for $18. I should have taken a picture because it was hysterical. I laughed when it was served along with the people sitting next to me at the bar. They were literally the size of quarters and they were only two. There was lots of flavor but no observable Lobster meat in either of them. There was some kind of sweet thai sauce which should never go with a lobster cake. Either serve it with a cocktail sauce or tartar or lemon wedge on the side. I'm from Maine and I had high expectations for that tasty treat. Bottom line is they are very busy as people flock there for Seafood as it seems to be the only restaurant in The Villages dedicated to it. My prior Vision was fried shrimps and they were equivalent to what I could get at any of the local restaurants and country clubs at a lower cost.
What a treasure! Half way point for my BFF to meet for her bday! Beautiful view! Great staff. Clean. Went with special, Lobster feast. Missed my hubby cracking the whole lobster, but they split the tales and gave all the tools! Lobster great, corn great, beans and potatoes not my fave. The desserts were top notch!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lighthouse Point Bar & Grill is the kind of place where your taste buds go on vacation and forget to come home. I came for a burger and left spiritually transformed. The fish tacos? So fresh I’m convinced the chef has a fishing rod in the kitchen. The drinks? Strong enough to make me think I could salsa dance (spoiler: I cannot). Our waiter was so charming, I nearly added him to my will. The waterfront view is gorgeous—like a postcard, if the postcard also served coconut shrimp that made me briefly question my loyalty to all other food. Seagulls tried to steal my fries, but I respect their hustle. And yes, I gave them one. If you’re in the area and don’t stop here, I’m not mad—just deeply disappointed in your life choices. Come hungry, leave happy!!
I had high hopes for this place, but we were disappointed in the end. From the start, I had to get a hostess’ attention to be seated despite there being 2 people at front of house. The atmosphere is excellent. I can’t fail that. We had an outdoor table overlooking the water and it was beautiful. Service could have been better. Our waitress was very friendly and pleasant, but attentiveness was lacking. Now to the food - I ordered the fried haddock ‘platter’ and it was far from that. One small piece of fish and unseasoned sweet potato fries. It was hardly a platter. It was something I’d expect to find on a lunch menu. We also ordered the peel and eat shrimp. Again, bland at best. We even had to ask for salt & pepper for the table. I can’t say we’ll be in a rush to go back. It’s a fantastic location, it’s just a shame about the blandness of the food we ordered.

We decided to go there with some friends, as their visit was coming to end and they love sea food. We were seated indoors, it was freezing, I appreciate the aircon was on, but it was not that hot …
Blue Cheese fries, needs more blue cheese, add some bacon and a drizzle of ranch and you’d have a good appetizer. The slivers of clams used for the fried clams resulted in more breading than clams, won’t be eating here again. Very disappointing overall, a year ago things were better, something has changed. If your clam strips aren’t better than the sea pack frozen clams from the grocery store then they shouldn’t be on the menu.
Good food and great service. Except the crab cakes they are $13 and you only get two quarter size cakes. Don't order if you're hungry.
My wife got the Mahi sandwich and loved it. I unfortunately got the sweet fried chicken and they should change the name to fried chicken skin. This was the thinnest and driest fried chicken I've ever had. The description said great so I figured a chicken breast. Instead I got a breast filet.
Our table outside had absolutely no fan air, extremely hot changed tables and still no air from fans. Ordered the Ipswich clams for $32. Received only bellies! Where was the rest of the clam? Was extremely disappointed that this restaurant thinks it's okay to serve only half of the clam!!!! As a native of New England your company is a disgrace for giving people a half of an clam

Service ok, they did try though. Inside way too loud. My pasta/seafood order - half of the order was cold, other half just warm, served on same plate. Shrimp was over cooked. Garlic bread was a joke. Appetizer was ONLY 4 SMALL scallops served cold/under cooked and costed about $16.00. I remember a few years ago the prices were expensive but reasonable, not any more. Also the food was really good. Not anymore. All I hear from friends that have eaten there over the last year have all had issues with either the food, wine or service. Very sad to see this place go down hill.
I had the garlic Alfredo scallops it came with five TINY completely overcooked scallops that were hard as a rock. The garlic bread was burned and I couldn't find a trace of garlic or flavor in the Alfredo. For $24 I expected a lot better. The others in my party ordered the salmon and the tacos which came with completely plain canned green beans. You just expect better for the prices.
Staff was very attentive and personable. The setting in Lake Sumter is very nice. The food was above average, but the chicken was a bit overcooked. Be aware that this restaurant wants us customers to pay is credit card processing costs, in addition to any fees they pay to the credit card, and interest. If the owner doesn't want to pay his/her business cost of accepting credit cards, then he should try being all cash only. I reject the notion that I should pay the fee for his business to reap the benefit is accepting credit cards. BS! Won't be back.
Update 2.4 23. Gluten free Not done well. You pay 2 dollars for the gluten free bun that falls completely apart the instant you bite into it. The bun is not prepared well not worth purchasing. Lobster was chewy and not all that good. The coleslaw that came with it was really good!; service was good. It was SO loud in there. Just really annoying. But love looking out at the water though. I will say that the server said the key lime pie was gf. So ordered one. It came with honey on top. I don't like honey so I Ate very little. Which was fortunate because we questioned it again... She said it was again... But I did have a bad reaction later. Won't go back there. Update 4.2022: still good food. Slow service. Did good with gluten free. Staff nice. Will be back. Good food...a little slow. Good atmosphere. Did well for gluten free. We really enjoyed our lunch there. Portions not too large.. Or small.. Just right for us. Fun place to eat.
Came here for an impromptu date with my husband on Veterans Day. This place is located a little on the slower side of Lake Sumter Landing. It has its own parking lot so that you don’t have to fight for street parking with the golf carts. The atmosphere is nice and it’s located right on a lake. With large windows all around so that even if you’re seated inside, you still can enjoy the view. We were seated right away and the server (Sheryl), who was awesome, let us know that it was happy hour from 3-5 (we got here at 4). None of the specialty drinks are on the happy hour menu but you should ask about the $5 drink of the day. As far as the food and drinks go, this place is honestly mediocre at best. The only thing I’d come back here for is the oysters Rockefeller with a side of the garlic Parmesan sauce. We started with the Captains colada which was overly sweet and tasted like a medicine syrup. The only cute thing was that it comes in a pineapple. We then had the oysters half dozen Rockefeller and half dozen of garlic parm oysters which were excellent, however the second time I ordered a dozen they were huge and were too undercooked for my liking (had to take them home and recook). My husband also ordered the Caribbean steak bowl and the rice was crunchy as if they had scraped the bottom of the pot. All in all, for them to priced as high as they are, I’d expected them to be much better.
First time at this restaurant,i asked about the price of their Lobster Feast on Friday night.. waiter said 49.99.. I showed him the ad that said 29.99.. he stuttered, tried to explain the price increase..I asked for the manager, a female arrived at the table.. no introduction, also Ishowed her the ad..She pointed at the logo for the restaurant and proceeded to tell me,I was in the wrong restaurant!! That ad was for a Lighthouse Point restaurant??? Im guessing she doesn't know where she works!! There are 2 different ads for the special and neither the manager, nor waiter even tried to remedy the situation!! The restaurant was not that busy, that this manager couldn't take the time to apologize, come to the table, but, totally ignored us for the rest of our visit!! Not,very happy with this being my first visit!! If I could give a lesser than 1 star for service,I definitely would!!
We have always enjoyed our prior visits to your restaurant location in Sumter. However, after making a sunset reservation this past week with a friend who was visiting, I must say we were terribly disappointed when there was no patriotic tribute as the sun went down as with prior year’s. It was truly one of the reasons we chose your restaurant that evening. My husband did some research upon returning home as to possibly why no tribute. We were both disappointed to read (if true) that some of your patrons were offended by your patriotism. Shame on your decision if that was truly the reason you discontinued your tribute. I would think you would have plenty of business considering so many veterans who served our fantastic country reside in The Villages. Not so sure we will be back. God bless the USA and our veterans for their service.
Overpriced and not deserving of the prices charged especially a Bourbon Ole Fashion for $23 per shot. The whole bottle only cost $29 at Total Wine. The server was great, very informative my wife and I eat out all over the US. We shall not return. Not that overwhelming for the price charged.
We had lunch at the Lighthouse Point Bar and Grille on a weekday in March 2024. We arrived to find them busy and had to wait. They told us 15 minutes for the wait, which we chose to do. The problem is that they never called or texted us. After almost an hour, we confronted them. But first we had to wait for the couple in front of us in line complaining that a couple that arrived well after them was seated quickly and before them. They were told that they had reservations. But the couple responded by stating that they don't take reservations. The employee stated that they "Normally" do not take reservations. So to us, it was apparent that certain people are provided preferential treatment over everyone else. Now it was our turn to ask why we have not been called either verbally out the door like everyone else, or by phone either call or text. They said they texted us. Apparently we were only unable to hear our name out of all the others called. And our phone doesn't work, even though I was able to get a spam call while we were waiting. But they did seat us immediately. So far, the Lighthouse Point Bar and Grille was not worth the long drive we made to visit. It seemed like we were not welcome at this restaurant. But things did get better. That's when we met our server named Regan. We ordered our food and drink, pretty quick since we knew what we wanted. Regan was great throughout our meal. She was friendly and attentive. But our food was delivered by someone else. It was what we ordered. But we both were missing a part of our meal. Thankfully Regan checked on us and noticed before we could say anything. She then quickly rectified the situation. The food was good. But by no means the best we ever had on our respective meals. Prices are subjective to one's opinion. I found some prices on the high side, while some prices quite reasonable. All in all, they were not bad. But like I said, your opinion may differ. The atmosphere of the Lighthouse Point is all about having a meal on the lake shore. The views are very nice. The decor was fitting to what this restaurant is trying to be. And of course there is the lighthouse that towers over the restaurant. All in all, our visit to the Lighthouse point was bad and good. We felt like the restaurant was preventing us from being allowed to dine there for what ever reason. Thankfully our server saved the day. Regan made the atmosphere and meal worth the visit. Other than that, nothing was all that great or even decent or fair in some ways. The food was pretty good, but not great. The prices were subjective. And the restaurant kept us from our table for what ever the reason and poor excuse. Maybe we'll try them again sometime again to see if we might have a different experience. But maybe not. It's hard to get over being passed over for a table both by the employees never calling us, as well as the employee admitted preferential treatment other customers were afforded over others. Us being two of them.
3% Credit Card Added Charge, Loud and VeryBad management that's UNRESPONSIVE to guests. They have not responded my to review. I reside in Spanish Springs and am a caregiver of my beautiful 88 year old Italian mother who is also my very best friend. Mom suffered a stroke and heart attack at the beginning of October. It was the worst day of my life everything in my life seemed to changed. The prayers of many and the great care at the UF Spanish Plaines Rehabilitation Hospital (right at The Villages Community Hospital in Spanish Springs) delivered my beautiful mom to a miraculous recovery that now continues at home where I'm blessed to be her caregiver 24/7. We had frequently eaten out before this life changing event and often enjoyed dinners at many local eateries including Lighthouse Point Bar and Grille. There are few people left in Moms family, however our cousin from St. Augustine drove down to our home for Thanksgiving and to help bring me a little respite as the past months have been difficult and with many changes. She asked where Mom enjoyed lobster and Mom communicated, albeit with great difficulty due to aphasia from the stroke, "Lighthouse!" I confirmed that with Mom and then proceeded to the website to review menu and confirm that Friday was the Lobster Feast with the $29.99 Lobster. I proceeded to call the restaurant and to confirm with a helpful new employee and then proceeded with reservations. We arrived and after a few minutes of confusion, with the new hostess trying to make a reservation, another hostess noticed we already had a reservation for our small party of 3. We were seated promptly and sat inside and with Lovely view of the water and then sunset. Drink requests taken and when things went downhill from there. The waiter was very energetic with a happy and nervous energy. We were looking over the menu although Mom and I have already been delighted with the lobster special and our cousin loves lobster more than anyone I know- so we asked about the lobster and price. The gentleman waiter advised $49.99 and we mentioned we were there for the the Friday lobster special that I had previously confirmed online under the "Specials" pull down menu for the restaurant online and with my earlier phone call. To keep it simple we often hit restaurants on their specialty nights and Friday nights are usually really busy at this lovely restaurant. Mom and I, along with the regular group we dine with from St Timothy's, regularly meet for the lobster special at the lighthouse point bar and grille at Lake Sumter Landing The waiter advised the lobster is always based on the market and the weather has turned colder and the price of lobster has gone up for them. We were all shocked about the difference in the price for the new special of $49.99! What is the REGULAR price is the Special lobster fest price is $49.99. Generally in a restaurant the price of such a greatly recognized local dining deal would likely have the regular price a bit higher as to attract at the $50 price. The big problem was when my cousin asked to please speak to the manager. She quickly came to the table and was anything like any manager of any of the restaurants here in The Villages. Her name is Crystal if I'm remembering correctly. She has the long sleeves pulled up exposing large tattoos. We pulled up the restaurant website online where it showed $29.99 and she advised that was a different restaurant. She was abrupt and not in any human was compassionate. So we asked for more time and then cousin checked actual restaurant and we are correct and I confirmed this of my own cell phone. However, minutes later I recycled the page on Google Chrome and it then showed $49.99. The manager should have offered this meal for the price we've always paid and since we were utilizing the restaurant website and the reservations call. My 88 year old mom who is always so positive was deeply stressed but couldn't express it with words because of the stroke. Y'all, we live in The Villages and need management who serve the establishment better. Peter Vincent
We were in town for a wedding and wanted a nice meal with a “view” on our last night. This place is on a lake which was pretty, especially sitting on the water on the patio. Was told wait would be 15 minutes but that turned into 35. Service was meh. Food was pretty bad. Just so disappointing, especially for over $100 spent for 2. You’d expect seafood to be better in Florida, even central Florida, but just left us disappointed. Sides and app were also pretty sad. The seasonal veggie was zucchini. Zucchini is in season in the summer! If you are willing to pay inflated prices for sub par food with some good views, this is your place. Otherwise, I’m sure you can find something better.
Really wanted to like it. Maybe there are some specialty dishes that are worth trying. The view is nice if you get to sit by the windows or on nice days to sit outside. I think that's what draws people here. The inside decor is fine. It's got a nice nautical theme and it is loud inside. However, arriving on a weekday by 11:40 it was an issue to get a table. But I think the hostess stand is in the wrong place. It's just a couple feet opposite the door to get in so there's no place for people to go that are waiting. With all the people standing there it's hard to tell who's next and they also block the bathroom doors at the hostess stand. We had to sit at the bar because there was a wait for lunch. The bar is a little bit tight and it's a bit chaotically organized. There's stuff everywhere and you're right next to a rack If you're at the end that has kind of like a serving station and all the fruit type things for drinks. Anybody coughing can be in contact with uncovered food. We didn't like watching some of the waitresses grab fruits and vegetables with their hands. The same hands that just served food, handled checks, cash and credit cards. We watched celery being pulled right out of a glass jar and also when loading up oranges and cherries and olives. A toothpick was used but a hand was used on the opposite end to put the stuff on the toothpick. I don't know about you but I really don't like people that touch everything else to be touching my food. It took a while to get a refill of water and when the glasses were returned to us they were reversed. We know this for sure because one of us put the lemon inside the water and the other one of us put it on the outside rim. Plus the shaded rims were different sizes so we knew ours got reversed. Not a big deal since we are married but it makes me wonder if sometimes you might get somebody else's already used drink straw. The burger was decent but I've had better. There's no seasoning on it and although the flavor and texture was decent and it is quite a large patty, it wasn't cooked as ordered. I ordered medium and got between medium well and well done. So that made it a little bit on the drier side. The fries to me had no flavor. They were a little bit chewy. They didn't even have salt on them so no seasoning. And the seasoning at the bar was at the other end and I didn't even see seasoning until I was almost done with my food. So there would have been no good way to retrieve it unless you flag down a server to get it for you. I am a french fry aholic and for me to not even eat half of them says something. I don't eat coleslaw but my husband does and there was no juice or sauce in it so it was pretty dry. The fish sandwich which was haddock had a nice portion. Had some vegetables on top and looked appetizing. However, there's absolutely no sauce with it. So it lacked flavor and it also made it dry. The green beans were literally just steamed green beans. No butter, salt or pepper. Just steamed green beans that were bland. I'm going to post pictures and I don't know if they do the food Justice or not. It's probably hard to see that some things don't have sauce or seasoning or are dry. Watch for upcharges. We were informed of up charges and we should have thought to ask how much extra. I wanted to substitute a pretzel bun for the brioche bun because they used to serve it that way at least according to an old menu I saw. It was something like $2.29 more to switch to a pretzel bun. But fine. My fault for not asking. If you don't want french fries, you have to pay an up charge for any of the other sides. The green beans were an extra $3.40 more with a french fry trade-in. I can't believe they had a small little half cup of green beans cost that much more than to serve another side. Again, we should have asked. I don't think we would repeat that for plain beans. But the pretzel bun was Good. So if you're going to do an up charge I guess spend your money on that. Also if you like to earn points there is an up charge to use a credit card. Hope you have a better experience
Overpriced seafood we sat waited for a menu after reviewing the menu we left. The lunch crowd was gone and so were the waitresses. We let ourselves out.

When we arrived they said it would be a 45 minute wait, which was no big deal. However, when we checked in two other times we were told we were next up. The head hostess told the 2nd hostess to sea…
I cannot imagine for the life of me why this restaurant changed everything! The menu is nothing what it was just a few months ago. They're now serving the outside dining customers with paper plat…
Terrible!!!!we had a reservation for Thursday night and Friday night and we ended up only having the calamari and left on Thursday. We will not be going back. $26 for 2 beers and calamari.no drafts and the C was supposed to be an appetizer, it was mixed in with banana peppers and roasted red peppers. The sauce is very good, but the C was hard, crunchy, cold and small. I would be shocked if there was a half a cup of calamari on the plate. It was awful. What a rip off. The server was fine, but obviously in a hurry and showed that she could probably run out of Patience very very quickly. The Place would’ve not been that loud if the servers had been more courteous of the customers. Instead of throwing, dropping things and making tons of noise, then laughing about it. We will never go back. I would pack a lunch and sit on dock somewhere before I would go back there. Shame on them, taking advantage of these older people.
Very bad experience. We will not be back or recommend this restaurant. We have already explained our disappointment to the management and they could not have cared less.
We all wanted to try this place. What a disappointment. We won't be back. If you like greasy, noisy and unhealthy, this is the place for you - better yet, take your chances with Long John Silvers. Every weekend we go out as two couples and try a new restaurant in The Villages or surrounding area. This is the first time we had such a regrettable experience. The salad looked like it was made from table scraps. How do you have soggy (mushy) croutons and crunchy croutons, in a fresh salad, not to mention oddball odds and ends of lettuce and a smattering of vegetables, some wilted some not, halfway filling a salad bowl, and if you grabbed a handful of ingredients on way to the table. Dressing? That comes in a prepackaged tub. Nothing fresh happens here. Dinner rolls/bread? Same thing, some fresh and warm, some on the brink of being stale. Want more, the waitress will tell you $3.00, then charge you $3.90. Butter? That comes afterward, hard frozen. Seafood? Take your chances at Long John Silvers. Not one item at our table was of any higher quality than that. For the $30+ per person we paid here, we would have done much better at lots of other great restaurants in The Villages. We never have problems like this. Dessert anyone? Nice picture of a hot fudge sundae on the menu, chocolate running down some scoops of vanilla in a standard dessert dish - with a cherry on the top. I dare you to order that. Ice cream should goes first, then chocolate right? Not at this place. You get a small puddle of fudge, not on the top, but on the very BOTTOM of a narrow glass - served with a flattened spoon (that looks like it came from a grade school cafeteria), which is too fat to reach down into the narrow glass. So, no hot fudge for you, (because there is no way to reach it, and none actually comes ON your ice cream), but you will get your hands messy trying. No cherry, just very hard frozen shards of ice cream that were too hard to scoop nicely, halfway up the glass and then some weird stuff over it - impossible to enjoy with a huge tablespoon. It was the stupidest excuse for dessert I had ever seen. Point it out the waitress, - the simple fact that hot fudge is meant to go on TOP of the ice cream, and not in a puddle at the bottom. No. She's busy giving the wrong bill to the wrong people. Oh well, I'll just tell the world about it, since she's not interested. What a shame. One of us being an accountant was going to mention that the bills were incorrect, but by then we just wanted to leave. No worries, this is one place we will never go to again.
This was one of the worst overpriced meals I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the haddock platter, which I was told by the waitress it is very large, with green beans. The haddock was very small, very thin and tasted more like fish jerky than a good filet. The beans were extremely overcooked, soggy and ice cold. The French fries had no flavor and also very cold. This will be a one and done for us, I would recommend Golden Coral before I would ever recommend this establishment. Also be careful when/if leaving a gratuity, the first option is for 99%!!!!! Seems very shady
This was the worst experience I'd ever encountered at a restaurant! I arrived at 7:15pm. I was told the wait was 15-20 minutes. After checking twice with the hostess, we were seated at 8pm. By this time, the crowd disappeared, and the live music ended. We were greeted by Kristopher, with what can I get you all to drink. No introduction, no apology for the wait (which he was aware of). No, if this was our first time. Just short rude service. I asked about a dish that was on the website menu. Kristopher replied, that wasn't their menu. After showing him the menu on my phone. He said "oh we don't have that". We proceeded to order from the menu before us. After several (9-10) minutes, our drinks(2) arrived. One of them was water. I was disappointed, because the restaurant was nearly empty by now. Kristopher set them down and went back inside the restaurant. As we dined on the patio. The view was nice. It overlooked a body of water and a plethora of restaurants and shops. Finally, Kristopher came back to take our order. Our food took so long, Kristopher brought us a side order of French fries to snack on. I asked Kristopher, was this kind of service normal. He replied, "the kitchen was being stupid, that's all". I didn't know what that meant. Meanwhile, our food arrived at 8:40. The oysters were steamed, and we ordered Rockefeller. They were taken back, and spinach dip(it seemed) was placed on top and reheated. The oysters were tough, to say the least. The dish looked sloppy(see pic). We also ordered a seafood pasta dish, which was bland and unimpressive. By this time, there were only about three other tables seated. They all had their food. We received our bill. I was very reluctant to leave a tip, but forced myself to give 50% of what I would have given with good service. I was tempted to contact the manager, but thought I would just share my experience here.
Menus needed to be cleaned. Brought the wrong meal for my sister in law three times. My husband’s food came out after I was done with my food. My husband’s chicken Mac and cheese had maybe three bites of chicken. The excuse for his meal being so late was that they were putting more chicken in it? Don’t lie to us for goodness sakes. We owned a restaurant and the last thing you want to do is lie to the customer! Was offered dessert or some cornbread I guess to compensate for our miserable dinning experience but we declined and got the heck out of that restaurant! Never going back!
Ate lunch there today. My husband and I both had the clam chowder, it is not the same chowder we had the first few times we went. This time there were no clams in the shells and the taste was not that great. The fresh French fries you use to get in the little basket are now frozen coated fries, they USE to have the best fries. I had to eat my fish sandwich with a knife and fork because the pretzel bun just fell apart. The tea was great. When restaurants start changing up and serve food that is subpar, they start loosing business. To bad because the food used to be great.
$42 lobster roll had very little tough lobster. Sweet potatoes fries were soggy!!! Clam strips were awful. Burger was ok as was Mac and cheese. But this is a seafood place. Go figure!!!
Can't tell you about the food, we never got in. We drove 45 minutes to come here because we heard great things about it. Went in and asked for a table for 5, they told us we'd have to wait even tho the place was not busy. Said they would send us a text. Went outside to wait, watched others go in and be seated, watched plenty of others finish their meal and leave. Half an hour later I went in to ask about our table. Said they still didn't have anything and were quite rude about it. We left. If you have minors, don't bother coming here. They only cater to senior citizens.
Apparently, this restaurant is aware that it has ongoing issues processing legitimately purchased gift cards. Despite acknowledging this problem to customers, management still demands payment and even threatens arrest when the gift cards fail to process. My elderly parents had the police called on them over this issue and were completely traumatized by the way they were treated. This was an appalling experience and a textbook example of taking advantage of senior citizens. Management should be ashamed. I cannot imagine treating anyone this way, especially an elderly couple simply trying to enjoy a birthday dinner. I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.
