My husband is craving for Indian Food and we came across this place. I’m glad we came here. The food is delicious and well made. The moment you enter the establishment, you can smell the aroma of food just wafting around you. The service was also excellent, they were very friendly and made sure they answer your questions. We will definitely come back again.
Recently had dinner here for impromptu date night. It's not too far from our house. We've been here before so we know it's good. Very quick to seat us, immediately bringing water and a basket of the chips with the sauces. Very patient with us when we took a moment to order after deciding on the appetizer. We ordered Tandoori chicken, chicken Tikka and the garlic Naan. We always get extra Naan to take home. Everything was delicious! They were very attentive, very kind and efficient. When he asked for extra ice for our water they brought us an entire large cup of ice. 😀 We love this place and of course will be back. Thank you so much!
The best Indian cuisine in Central Florida! I used to go to the east colonial location every Sunday but since this is a bit further we travel here as often as we can. The food is fresh. Bold and delicious flavors! You will not find better samosas anywhere else! Same goes for the Naan and butter chicken. I absolutely love this restaurant! I hope they reopen by ucf again.
I recently became a fan of Indian food after many years of not really liking certain spices and flavor pallets. But, after persistence from the right people, I tried a few dishes and fell in love. I’m still learning about different dishes but so far I’m a huge fan of palak paneer with spinach, and tandoori chicken and some others I don’t remember the names of. Anyways, this place was my first dine in experience at an Indian restaurant. What a treat! The service was great, the food phenomenal and the restaurant was beautiful. I love the concept of all the sides that come with the dish as well as the sauces. Definitely a good idea if you’re a bit stuffy because those spices will open your sinuses real good!! I would highly suggest this place! Can’t wait to go back! … fast forward, I’ve been back and it’s still delicious! I tried the stuffed mushroom appetizer and they were awesome!
we had tge masala dosa as an appetizer, we had the lamb tikkamadsala, chicken tikanadsala, rice pudding and the gulag jamun for desert. everything was so tasty, delicious. the location and restaurant were wonderful. plenty of parking we loved it and will be back. and it is affordable. service was also wonderful, a neighborhood gem for sure.
I absolutely LOVE this establishment. I used to have an office within walking distance in 2018 and recently moved back. I have been back at least 15 times this year. I bring clients, friends and my children here. When I walk in, I don’t even get the menu anymore, my servers always know what I want and if I’m feeling adventurous they walk me through the options. Food is always amazing, I’m always pleased to come in and be greeted by familiar faces. Some of the photos look redundant, but that goes to show their consistency in presentation because these are all different visits.
Delicious and great service! My boyfriend and I tried this place for the first time last night. We got the chicken 65 appetizer, palak paneer with a side of butter naan, and mysore masala dosa. Everything was fresh and delicious. The server was friendly and attentive and even gave us a free cup of kheer for dessert! Would absolutely recommend
Excellent venue for Indian food! We’ve been to many in the area, this one is our favorite so far. When we had some as takeout it was ok at best, but when we ate at the restaurant it was a very different experience. There is ample parking as it is at a strip mall. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The staff promptly addressed us, and seated us along with providing a booster chair for our toddler. The aroma from the spices in the air was wonderful. The waitress proceeded excellent recommendations that exceeded our expectations. We immediately noticed that their menu included curries that we simply have never seen before at Indian restaurants in the area. We tried two of them, which were Fish Hyderabadi and chicken Kadhai, and both were absolutely amazing. We had chicken Biryani which is fairly ubiquitous at Indian venues, but they did a good job with it. The tandoori stuffed mushrooms are definitely recommended. We appreciated that their samosa aren’t dry, and had excellent flavor. They also carry Indian beer, which I’m not a big fan of, but whatever. My complaints are the following: limited staff, which isn’t a big issue unless it gets busy, but wasn’t too bad for us. We are Thai, and when we say extra extra spicy we aren’t kidding, and I think the chef took us lightly, and did not put any heat in our food, which was quite disappointing. I know Indians know what spicy means, as they have ghost peppers (which I eat whole) so hopefully they actually make it spicy next time. Price: it is winter park Fl, and they make excellent food, so I expect to pay a certain premium. I would say the price is a little over what is expected for what we get, but regardless, we will be back again. If you have a limited budget however, this venue might be a little high for a regular night out, so please keep that in mind. What you see in my photos is all we got (plus two nan) and it cost well over $100.
One of my favorite places to eat, and definitely my favorite Indian spot!!! A MUST go. I recommend the Kashmiri naan and tikka masala with lamb. The samosa’s are a great/safe appetizer option. If you are not a spice person, just stick with mild heat. Medium is surprisingly a pretty big jump in spice level. Enjoy.
The food was delicious and Subhodip was fantastic! He was managing a steady flow of guests like a pro. When my bhindi wasn’t quite spicy enough, he got me some chopped chilis that made everything better! I can’t wait to come back!
Absolutely love this place. Have lived in winter park and it’s my go-to restaurant. The food is fantastic (be sure to order the mango lassi and samosa chaat) and the staff is truly amazing. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My cousin wanted butter shrimp but they had a shrimp tikka masala that had her quiet for about 10 mins. When she finally did speak she couldn’t stop talking about how it might taste better than what she wanted in the first place! Great service, atmosphere, quality.
We did takeout and I had the Palaak Paneer. It was INSANELY delicious! I asked for it "Indian Spicy" and it was perfect! Probably too hot for most people but the first time ever any restaurant jacked the heat up for me! Well, except for that time in Bangkok when I had to jam Kleenex up my nose in order to finish my papaya salad because I said they couldn't make it hot enough for me. But I finished it like a champ!
I love Tamarind. It is definitely in my top 3 best Indian restaurants in the Orlando and Winter Park area. Service is great. Ambiance is lovely. Food is top notch!
I stopped in yesterday for the first time and decided to try the $13 Aloo Chana lunch special with a medium spice level. It came with the main dish, little pots filled with salad, basmati rice, and deliciously spiced lentils, a generous stack of soft butter naan, and a papadam. The flavors were beautiful and the spice level was perfect. The staff were friendly and engaging. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting. It’s a lovely place. Check it out!
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in Orlando! We’ve been going since the day they opened and the food is consistently delicious. I love their masala dosa and chicken bhuna, but really everything we’ve tried have been a hit!
The food and service is outstanding! I usually get dinner but I came in for lunch and they have a wonderful lunch option. You get naan, lentil soup, salad, rice, and entree. Loved the variety….so delicious! They never disappoint.
Tamarind has become a go to for me! food is always fantastic and consistent. service is super fast staff is super friendly and food always comes out quickly even when slammed. love how cozy the inside is too 10/10
I brought my family from out of town to taste authentic cuisine. My order had discrepancies at first but the staff and managers quickly resolved it and we enjoyed our meal. The wine is exceptional and chilled and the taj mahal left me belching and slightly toasted lol. They have clean restrooms, handicap friendly, vegan options, & plenty of parking and great cuisine for plenty. If you're in the Orlando-Winter Park 11:30-2:30 area swing by and try their lunch menu. We enjoyed the dosa and samosa chaat paired with chutney. We also ordered four different lunch special options with four different meats. All delicious! Definitely returning as always and recommending to all who ask indeed. Thanks tamarind and staff. Great experience in my book. As usual
Ate here last night with my son I have never been before. Everything was wonderful. The waiter was on top of it and manager or owner was out and about making sure things were good. Food came fast not a very big place and it filled up fast.Good parking because of where it’s at.We will be back for sure.
This is so good. The butter chicken and malabari are very good! Job well done to everyone who works here! Md was the only server and even then the service was the best service I’ve had in a while. He also gave us a complementary dessert to try called Gulab jamon. I will be back soon!!
I have always come here when I get a chance and love it! The foof is tasty and well presented! Ine of the few places tha have Dosa a favorite of mine and they make it good my fave !
The service was excellent, friendly and attentive servers, Subhodip particularly, was very good giving us suggestions and with a big smile. Food was delicious as always. We had a great experience and will definitely be back.
Delicious! I got the tandoori stuffed mushrooms, chicken tikka masala, and cheese naan. It was all so good! The mushrooms were a first for me and honestly surpassed my expectations. SO good. Service was friendly and attentive. I will be back!
I know it doesn’t look like much but omfg…. the Tomato Shorba. Holy shot… I ordered two of these and loved them. I’m addicted now. I want to eat one every morning, lunch, and dinner. I’m obseessed. Also I love the word Shorba. I’m going to come back just to have this soup three times in a row and then pack my things and leave
We’ve been coming here for almost a decade - it’s become our local go-to for authentic Indian food. Service is always very friendly, personable and attentive. The food really is authentic and delicious. It is in a strip mall, but don’t let that throw you off. It’s really good! I loved the old decor, had a very intimate feeling full of character. They completely redid the inside and it now has a modern, light feel to it. We do order out as well.
One of our favorite places to come to. We found them maybe a year ago but since it was our first time having Indian food we didn’t really know what we were doing. We try to go twice a month and are never disappointed. The food is great and so is the service. Definitely recommend trying this place (and maybe giving them more than one chance if you are new to Indian food). We share the chicken Shahi Korma with an extra side of rice and garlic naan. In the pictures I also added an image of the dosa. Before we found our favorite meal my bf would get this as his dish quite often.
Love this place. The food is so good. Service is wonderful. They got plenty of seatings. Perfect for family, friends, and dates. They start with complementary papad and chatney. The garlic naan was so buttery and soft. Just perfect!

This is by far the best lollipop chicken that I have ever had. First the chicken has a Korean fried chicken coating with a spicy sweet and tangy sauce. For an entree I ordered the Tiki Marsala and it was a home run.

First time here!! Had an amazing meal. Excellent dosa. Generous serves and amazing side dishes to go alongside.

Love the lunch tray! Great flavors & generous portions.
This is a gem! It has been a long time I haven't found an Indian restaurant that good. Had the Lamb Roganjosh and I also ordered a chicken Tikka masala because it was so good!!! Generous serving too. Garlic naan actually has garlic chunks on it, not just powdered garlic. Spiced up fine for a "spicy", I guess it's between a medium and a spicy in my scale. Delicious, really. I've enjoyed it very much! Thank you
If your looking for a GREAT Indian spot, look no farther. Indian food has a special place in my heart and I'm rather critical on it. Tamarind does not disappoint. Would highly recommend their Chicken Tikka, Rogan Josh, Tandoori and Hyderabadi. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything but those are my Favorites. Their Naan is also exquisite. Don't miss this spot if your an Indian food enthusiast like myself. They also got a great lunch special! Blessings
We just tried them the other day and all of our food was perfect. I personally had the chicken tikka masala and naan and it was the best I've ever had. Flavorful, savory and not too runny. It was fantastic. The naan was crisp, tasty and delightful. I ordered pick up for 3 of us total and we loved everything. They packaged it well and gave us excellent portions (especially extra rice). The staff were quick and I give them 10/10 service and they are serious about quality - for sure we will be back to try more!
Tamarind is always my go to for Indian food in the Orlando/ Winter Park area. I always tell my friends about it and love ordering from here. We sat inside today and our server was so friendly. The food was outstanding as always. I also noticed they use serve the food in beautiful dishes. 10/10 would recommend. We got the Dosa to start along with Chicken Tikka with curry sauce added and chicken Tikka masala. Don’t forget to order the chutney and sauces on the side!
This is our third time visiting this restaurant as we only come to the area once a year. The food is exquisite: I especially love the Gobi Manchurian which is by far the best I have ever had. We also enjoyed the vegetarian vegetable dish and the level of spice was just right. Even though it was busy, the service was impeccable every single time with a very personable server and a host that was quite attentive and welcoming throughout our dining experience. We were delighted they could accommodate vegan requests and our company raved about the curry lamb. We also took home an okra dish our company loved. We will sure return next year! Highly recommend for excellent, tasty Indian food.
We visit the Tamarind restaurant very often, and it's amazing. The staff is extremely polite, respectful, and attentive to customer needs. Subhodip typically greets us, and he is always on point with taking our orders. Highly recommend coming to this restaurant. We typically get the lunch special, and it’s great food with a superb atmosphere.

Place looks great, our first time here but did see before remodel photos. This is a pleasant change, clean, very open, and calming. The place smells delicious. We had and assortment of food from samosas, lamb, naan, a vegetarian dish, and a chicken curry dish. All great flavors with the right amount spice as ordered. These are very large portions of food and we did have enough for another meal each. Food came out quickly.
Good place to have some good Indian dishes. While the menu has limited number of dishes with respect to vegitarian, chicken and lamb related items, food cooked is pretty tasty and palatable. Service wise, polite staff and they are courteous. They serve you well. Nice and clean place. It is generally quite and toilets are clean.
Chai and samosa were really good. Although chai quantity could be slightly more. Samosas were in fact non oily, which was a plus. The mushroom starter completely missed the mark, not in great in flavor or texture, not worth the buck. Lunch thali was ok. I really liked that dal was kept simple.
I got here around lunchtime, it was pretty empty, so I was greeted and seated pretty quickly, so that was great . This is my first time trying out Indian cuisine. I heard a big rave over butter chicken, but I had asked my server for his recommendations and he recommended the chicken tikka masala. So I got that with a side of garlic naan. The food was very much tender, and the service was great but I didn’t find much flavor in the chicken even though I ordered it spicy. This is probably gonna be a one time try for me.
Beautiful atmosphere and very clean. The meat was tender and the flavor was good. They do cook their rice in oil, so their menu is more allergy friendly than many other places.

Unfortunately, this restaurant does not live up to the hype. I came here, expecting a really good Indian meal as a takeout order, and I was left sorely disappointed. The first thing to note is that with to go orders, they do not provide any utensils or napkins. This could be frustrating for people staying in hotels or eating it on the go. Second, the price you pay for the portion you get is not worth it. The picture I included is of a chicken curry dish that, after tax and tip comes out to over $25 for that price, I expect a decent amount of food. What I received was a curry that had four pieces of chicken total. Not big pieces, bite-size pieces. If I am paying $25 for this, I am hoping to get good quality and pretty good quantity. Overall, disappointed in the service and quantity itself. I would definitely give this restaurant another chance in the future if they are able to address these issues.
Went there on New Year’s Eve seeing google reviews and ratings. We were surprised to see the restaurant almost empty on a busy holiday, but we still went ahead and ordered. Worst Indian food experience. Ordered dosa which was not crispy, overcooked, poor flavour in dosa chutneys too. We were told the cook who makes dosas didn’t work that night, and they took it off the final bill. Garlic naan was undercooked. Grilled lamb (Boti kabab) was chewy/ gamey Chicken curry didn’t taste good too. It appears all the reviews are paid/ false reviews. I generally don’t write reviews but wanted to warn others not to visit the restaurant based on false reviews. I have attached the bill dated 12/31/24 to show this is an authentic/ true review
